Stayed 4 days here with my kids. Awesome service and staff. The beds were a little too soft for me..otherwise room was great..waterpark water was too cold and the hot tub not warm enough. The little pool downstairs was perfect. And not overcrowded. Will stay there again

Excellent hotel, great accommodations, great food and many seating areas to meet with many family members during our stay, with large lobby, coffee bar, restaurant & lounge, fitness center & swimming, including a hair & nail salon. Highly recommended!
The hotel, from the exterior, needs a facelift as it's dated. The two nights that we stayed were noisey because if the water park next to it room. There was no shower chair in the wheelchair accessible room that was $143 a night, and no Continental breakfast either! The maintenance man had to be called to fix the air conditioner and he also knows the TV remote control wasn't working properly he knew about that did not replace it. The telephone in the room is also malfunctioning, keys stick. Public areas are very neat and clean, hats off to the cleaners! Front desk staff can be hard to understand, but mean well.
Hotel is great as usual, check in is easy and I love the underground parking! I had to drop a star because of the water park. They had an issue with the boiler so the water was too cold for swimming. They do have a second pool but the kids sure missed the water slides. Some communication before arriving would have been convenient, an email would work!
The place is very clean and the staff is very kind. However, during our visit, the pool area was extremely cold (probably 65 F) and the water in the pool was too cold to enjoy it. I did address this problem with the maintenance man who tried to argue that it was warm in there. I had to approach a number of guests and ask them about the comfort of the air temperature; they all told the mechanic it was freezing. I found the manager and he immediately looked into the problem and rectified the situation. I wish I looked for the manager sooner.
After having what I think may have been the worst week ever, Sonia at the front desk made it all go away. She was so pleasant, helpful, and kind. She put me in a lovely, very clean, king suite with a beautiful view of Calgary. She gave me a loyalty club treat bag even though I was not a member...she made me smile for the first time that day. The Skyharbour Grill at the hotel offers a selection of amazing food..prime rib was delish! I had an awesome sleep and breakfast was perfect..with REAL eggs thick sliced bacon, lots of fresh fruit! A very pleasant Jama took me to the airport in the courtesy shuttle in a matter of minutes! I would HIGHLY recommend the BWP Port O'Call! Great place as well if you have children...the water park was teeming with little ones! I'd give them 6 stars if I could!
DO NOT CALL THE NUMBER ABOVE TO BOOK A ROOM!!! I live in Calgary and i called to book the room thinking i was talking to the Best Western Port o Call. I was not, i got scammed, i just saw my Visa and payed US Dollars for my stay, i was never told once even after i clearly stated i lived in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
I will be calling that number back and complaining and also calling the Best Western for letting their customers to be scammed into paying US dollars to stay in Canada.
Attend an early christmas party of my husband's company. Server here are very approachable, helpful and attend to all the guest needs. Kudos. By the way foods are awesome love it. We Have great time.
Nice place! Great staff, room was clean. Kids liked the water park, and the lounge downstairs has great food and excellent service. The flaming extra hot wings, however, weren't, but that just me being nitpicky. :-)
We attended Easter brunch at the Port O'Call. Their usual brunch is already very tasty; the Easter version kicked things up a notch. In addition to their usual fare, they had some fancier hot dishes, including a vegetarian wellington and some specially crusted/prepared meats. Their desserts, which are usually reasonable, but not exceptional, were tastier, fresher, and more enjoyable this time around. The brunch is always good value for price, regardless of season/holiday, and the staff is very friendly and attentive. All in all, it was a good experience, and one we will be repeating.
excellent hotel ,good service ,water park area is one if the main attraction .my daughter love it .And we will be traveling again to stay in this hotel .
No complaints here, we enjoyed our last family outing before school and we loved every minute of it. Really enjoyed the amenities the best one so far is that they offer a nail spa/nailsalon loved the Hollywood vibe as it was the best part of the trip for me. Ladies were wonderful, service was fantastic and so was the hotel everyone friendly. Will stay again for sure.
Very great hotel, Amazing service, food, comfort, waterside and fitness area ! Great for families , just a little noise you could hear in the halls and when a door closes .. I left on the fan to help drown noise out !
This hotel could not be a more perfect place for a family stay. There is a terrific water park, amazing breakfast and they front desk has deals on tickets for the zoo and other Calgary attractions. The rooms are spacious, modern, and comfy. My only complaint is that the pillows are lumpy and the stairs appear to be for emergency user only
The Port-O-Call Hotel in Calgary is definately the friendliest I have stayed in. I have stayed in 7 different chain hotels throughout North America and found none to be quite this friendly (to be sure many were very friendly but the staff at Port-O-Call just seem so happy as well as friendly). Of the 4 BW s and the 3 other chains I have used in Calgary, the Port-O-Call is now my go-to Hotel for Calgary both business and pleasure.
Well the room was pretty good but I couldn't get the guide to work on the TV the first night we checked in late so just went to bed when I mentioned it to them the next day they said oh ya you have to go to 02 for the guide. So this should have been mentioned or written somewhere in the room. Second one of our 2 key cards didn't work mentioned it at the same time as the remote he took it gave It back and said ok it should work now but of course it doesn't. The pools and hot tubs had dirt and sand all over the bottom looks like it wasn't cleaned in awhile. And most importantly went to the jets lounge calamari was super rubbery and chewy and had plastic in it I mentioned the plastic to the waitress and said oh no sorry I'll let them know and was left at that no comp or nothing, I have worked in restraunts all my life and if this happend you at least come the drinks. Normally I wouldn't care and write reviews but seeing as how it is more expensive than a normal hotel you expect better. I would be staying somewhere else next time around.
Great place to stay. I was feeling quite I'll when I arrived, and they made me feel better after I checked in, which was very swift and efficient. They offered me water and apple juice. The checked in on me several times and just pain are me feel special
Close to the airport and has a convenient shuttle service if you are flying in. We drove, so we were not able to capitalise on this feature. Water park is a bit small, but fun nonetheless. The building is in decent shape. Service staff is available and helpful.
Great place to stay with kids, and different pools to disappear too. The food is great in both restaurants. Staff are awesome friendly and will help out anyway they can to make your stay even more enjoyable. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Will be staying here whenever I'm in Calgary.
The room was spacious and well cleaned. The location of the hotel, McKnight Blvd, Calgary Alberta (close to the airport) is easily accessible and easy to find. My children fully enjoyed the water park and pool. The attached restaurant was excellent. The waiter was kind and super helpful. There was wide food selection, great quality. We really appreciated the breakfast buffet that was available. We had a great experience at the Best Western Port O'Call Hotel. We will definitely be making another stay.
This was our first time staying in this hotel, loved it!!!! Kids had fun for hours in the water slide, excellent hosting. Room was so clean and well arranged. Loved the stay, will definitely recommend
Very friendly staff, a great waterpark, and the food in the restaurant is amazing. An affordable night's stay with everything a family could ask for. We really enjoy our stays here.
This is the second time I've stayed here. Easy to find, incredible pool and slides for kids /adults alike, and the breakfast buffet in the harbour lounge is wonderful- especially if you enjoy spinach frittata! The rooms, especially the double queen, were very clean and roomy. If you or your kids enjoy waterslides, but not the noise, make sure you take a dip right after check-in. After supper and before lunch the pool gets really loud! There is a quieter pool to relax in on the lower level attached to the fitness centre. Great place to stay after a day of business, or to entertain your family after a day of exploring.
We had a nice stay at the hotel. It was only one night, but the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The restaurant staff were excellent and the food was good. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel.
Nice rooms. Comfortable beds. Pool and hot tub were a little on the cool side. Kids liked the 2 waterslides. There's a second pool next to the fitness center that's a little quieter. Over all good experience would stay here again.
Two separate pools pool areas, 3 hot tubs, 2 water slides, kiddy pool. Room was great and quiet away from the elevator. Breakfast buffet had more than I expected.
We were there for lunch. The buffet is small but the food was good. There is also a menu you can order from I don't know what selections there is on it so I can't comment.
Called hotel before arrival told them what I expected.... Upon arrival check in was brutal not a way to treat a Diamond Elite Member.... Checked into the room called down to front desk told them I wasn't happy with the room so they changed me too the exact same room no customer service at all. Reserved the pool area for my wife and kids so they could go swimming... The hotel didn't take my families safety as a priority and let 35 people storm the pool area what was the use of reserving.... Called down for towels and soap as me and my wife were in the shower house keeping came in the room. Totally unacceptable and I will never step foot back in Best Western Port O Call......Port O Call should make training a priority......Pathetic
Our company hosts a kid's Christmas party there every year. Staff is always accommodating and after food and presents they are able to burn off extra energy in the pool area. Very well maintained with water slides and hot tub.
Best place ever and staff is amazing.....im from winnipeg and when im in calgary i dont stay anywhere else except this hotel....the manager is exceptional and very professional.....anything you have problems with to talk with the day manager ....and not only that but sky harbours morning breakfast buffet is 5 star....you name it they have everything and if they dont just ask....its such a great hotel when im here its home. Thank you to all the staff and managers for keeping this hotel exceptional and yet very fair prices
This place is absolutely amazing the water park is incredible and the staff were so professional and kind. The rooms are beautiful and the building has everything u need under the roof!
We booked this hotel based mostly on the water slides (and proximity to the airport) and we were not disappointed. The kids loved the slides and the pool. Jas, the pool/slide attendant, was great working direct the kids at the top of the slide. He even suggested a less crowded hot tub for me to enjoy while reading my book. No free breakfast, but since we had to leave at 5am, this was not an issue. Front desk gave us great advice for getting to the Stampede and other suggestions on things to do while in town. Would definitely stay here again.
This was one of the best hotel to stay if you have to stay over one day in Calgary, especially if you have kids. They have the largest water park for a hotel in Calgary. They had 3 storey slides; blue and yellow water slides. And on the basement there was another pool by the gym. A lot of swimming pools. Pools gets busy from morning till 11am, and then busy again at 3pm until 5pm-ish. There is a breakfast place in the hotel as well. The buffet had quite a wide selection. It was CAD$15/adult and CAD$7 for kid from 5 to 15. This hotel also had a nail salon. There was under ground parking but the parking lots were very small. If you have a truck higher than 2meters it will not fit in the parking lot. And there are a lot of protruding air ducts in the lot. If you back up you SUV just be aware as you might not see the low ceiling level ducts and might ding your brake lights on top. I saw a lot of ding Mark's on the low hanging air ducts. Parking outside is your best bet but if it snows, make sure you leave ample time to clean your vehicle as Calgary do get a lot of snow and times get really cold, below -40DegC (we got one in 2019 Dec for 4 days). We booked for 4 rooms and all our rooms had jacuzzi in each room. I believe it was the same for all rooms. Our rooms were facing north west and we got the whole view of Calgary downtown and the Rockies in the background. All in all an awesome stay if you are going stay in Calgary for 1 day or for staycation.
Good price for the level of service and amenities the hotel offers! Close to the airport with underground heated parking to leave your vehicle while you are travelling. Would definitely stay here every time we travel!
I am a pissed off Best Western Diamond Select member traveling North America....This is one of 4 Best Westerns that deserve 4 stars. Best Western Corporate is a whole other issue. I recommend sticking to other Brands of Hotels other than this one.
Great facility with incredible suites! Loved the staff and the experience. However the waterpark, which was a major attraction to this hotel, was over-chlorinated. This caused my family (especially my young baby) some discomfort over the next two days because of it. Staff responded well when informed.
WOW! The Waterpark was absolutely awesome! The children loved it! The Staff were very helpful, friendly and considerate! We ordered room service and it was delicious! We will definitely stay here again!
Great Hotel, and great staff at the Bar, but was charged extra upon checking in because the person who booked my order on the phone misunderstood my booking information (we had 4 adults staying in the room, they put down 2 adults 2 kids, Upon seeing us at check in I was charged an additional $150) At checkout they tried to charge me another $100 for a bar tab, which after I asked them about they realized was put on the wrong room. But they didn't bother confirming it was the right room until after attempting to put it on my credit card, luckily there was an error in putting the charge through.
Great hotel with SOME great staff. But check-in/check out, and booking staff are not even close to meeting expectations for such a great hotel
Went to Sunday Brunch but didn't realize we were early (starts at 10:30) and all that was out was the breakfast buffet for hotel guests (that was supposed to end at 9:30). Food was decent, many of the lunch items were similar in theme, the gnocchi and carved big Apple Strudel were standouts. The cocktail sauce was 75% horseradish so use with caution. Kids loved the chocolate fountain!
This hotel was probably the best we have found for our family. The kids loved the water park!!!!! The food options were great and the location was also pretty decent.
