This hospital is highly recommended! We had a baby last and our experience was great. Specially LDR !!!My wife was assigned to RN Carla , Zohra , and Cathleen. We found them very helpful, professional, and caring. Believe it or not felt just like home. Nurses were very knowledgeable , never rushed to anything, and kept on checking on her several times during the day. We will do a separate review for our rock star OBGYN Dr. Jordon mitchel who spent close to 2 hours and stayed with wife .She walked her through the delivery process , applied different techniques so that way we can go with natural delivery instead of C section. Finally, she was shifted to a recovery department where Nurse name Michelle made my wife s recovery painless! She helped her with bath , never see any type of negative facial expressions no matter how many times we called her. We found Michelle very helpful, caring , and professional!

Food 5/5 good options and loved the celebration night dinner.

We will definitely recommend this hospital and dr Jordan Mitchell to our family and friends!

Regards,
Khatija and mohammad

Amazing! Had my baby here in March. The staff, rooms, food were all amazing! The staff was very friendly and supportive during our stay. I don't live close to the hospital but would travel there again. I had Dr. Holt deliver the baby and she was amazing. Would recommend the maternity ward to everyone!

Dr. Mendelson examined my wife and determined that she had flu (by looking in her ears and throat and without actually testing her for it) and did not test her for strep. When we were checking out, I asked the woman at the front desk if we could go back in for a strep test.

Mendelson was incredibly rude to us when we re-entered the treatment facility and requested the additional test. He basically stormed out of the treatment room and slammed the door in my face when I was in mid-sentence explaining why we wanted the test.

When I left the treatment room to continue the conversation - he indignantly told me that he felt his course of treatment was right for my wife - and then threatened to call security when I persisted

I recently spent time at BSW Frisco for an orthopedic surgery. Every part of my patient experience was world-class! From the time you walk in the door, there's a feeling that you're at a health "resort" rather than a hospital. Their staff operated with coordination and focus. Every person I encountered, from doctor to nurse to tech, made me feel that my care and comfort was their #1 priority. Also, their restaurant doesn't come up in "Frisco Restaurant" searches but the diversity of their menu and quality is absolutely amazing. All meals were delicious and on par (or better) than many local restaurants!

I was very disappointed in the nursing staff at the ER. They were very unprofessional and talked negatively about patients and were constantly gossiping at the nurses station. They didn't even bother to whisper their hateful comments about patients. They never smiled unless interacting with each other. There was no compassion from any of the three nurses I saw while there. Kerry was rude and short with me multiple times. I'm not sure why she ever entered the nursing profession because she has zero compassion for patients. I felt like a burden and helpless at the same time. I was very relieved when I was able to finally leave. I can't say I would ever recommend this ER to anyone after this experience. However, the women at the admissions desk were extremely friendly so not everything was terrible.

I had surgery, last week, in this hospital. Everyone I came in contact with from the front desk , registration, pre op, (i was out during, so I really have no idea what all went on) post op were completely professional and as nice as could be, totally helpful. Housekeeping, and room service folks were totally professional and went out of their way to make us comfortable. The nursing staff was impeccable. I was in contact with four nurses through my 18 hour stay and they were all so very professional, friendly, helpful, and so nice .... I am a very light sleeper yet, one of the two night nurses was so quiet I only woke up a couple times she came in .... the IV alarm woke me up a few times, that's when the other night nurse would come in, I guess my assigned nurse was busy at those moments. They ALL made me feel like they really cared. Thank you Baylor so very much!!

We'll call this the most expensive 8 minutes of my life.

As a background, my 18 month old daughter fell about 2 feet and hit her head on the hardwood floor. She cried before vomiting 3 times over the course of an hour and a half. After calling our pediatrician, we made our way to this sorry excuse for an establishment to have her checked out.

The doctors procedure included taking her heart rate, asking us 3 questions, and shining a light in her eye to test for a concussion. All of this took less than 5 minutes. We were then given a glass of pedialyte and an orange jello (seriously, who the hell eats orange jello?) and sent on our way. We thought it was a successful trip, expecting to get a $100 copay for reassurance that our daughter was fine. We were wrong.

After initially getting a statement saying we owed nothing, we were sent two bills totaling $693.66 for an "Emergency Level 2" visit. We have placed 3 phone calls trying to get more details only to hear "That's what your insurance company told us we could charge you" every single time.

Everyone knows the medical system in the US is royally screwed up, however, when a 5 minute visit ends up leading to $700 of charges, screwed up doesn't quite capture the words I'm feeling.

This is the exact reason people have to carefully consider whether it is worth taking their sick kid to the hospital. They are scared to death of getting an astronomical bill they will struggle to pay while the doctor that "examined" them aims only to see as many patients as possible to pay off that new Bentley they just bought.

This is a good hospital. My wife delivered a baby at their Women's Health Center several month ago and it was a pleasant experience overall, the facilities are great, nurses and other staff members are very nice and professional.

The reason I am taking stars off my review is because they contract their anesthesia services to the group called US Anesthesia Partners of Texas, which has absolutely the worst customer service we've ever experienced with a health provider. It is a shame that otherwise great hospital reputation is tainted by such a terrible business partner.

Amazing postpartum staff!!!! The facility is clean and the food options for the stay are above average for a hospital. I can t say enough about the nurses in postpartum! They were kind, patient, helpful and everything you d expect and need for a woman who has just had a baby. The Lactation consultants are also wonderful.

I went to the ER in the early morning. The staff is amazing; from the ladies at the front desk, to the nurses and doctors. I was there less than hour and they were fairly busy. The short time I was there, everyone went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and at ease. They were all patient, concerned and in the best of spirits. I have been recommending this ER to everyone.

No Stars. I put one star because the rating stars system required at least one star clicked for them to be activated.

I cancelled surgery at this Baylor facility because of such a lengthy, dis-organized pro-op work up ( 5 plus hours) that I felt my health and surgical outcome here would put me at high risk for complications and a poor surgical outcome.

I have had excellent care at other regional hospitals one 1-2 occasions.

I had foot surgery at Baylor on Dec 14. The hospital felt very safe and everyone wore masks. Everything was clean and the waiting room was beautiful, especially in its holiday decoration. Every person on the staff who cared for me was friendly, kind, and attentive! The surgery went swimmingly, and my recovery period in the hospital was comfortable and pleasant. I would not hesitate to use this great hospital again!

Overall the hospital is fairly decent. However, on a recent E.R. visit I was less than impressed with the doctor. He lacked bed side manner, didn't address my son's vomiting and actually cursed in front of my 5 year old. We ended up at Children's E.R. the next day and they took care of him and were very competent and professional. I will say the rest of the E.R. staff was pleasant and seemed competent.

Took my spouse these for serve pain and naesua. Dr. Charlie Dryden makes remarks saying CBD makes you sick as you walk in. Very disrespectful and untrue s far as accusing her of usage. After he was proven wrong. It was the flu. From there, he forcibly change where the prescriptions, which went to a far away location. Never going there again

I will never ever want to deliver any of my future...

I will never ever want to deliver any of my future babies at this hospital ever again!!!!! If I can give negative stars I would. I had a horrible recovery experience. The nurse name Elizabeth I will forever remember how she was of no help to me at all. She must have been new to this hospital therefore she had another shadowed nurse name Megan help her. I wish Megan was my main nurse cause she actually helped stretch me to make my delivery a little faster. My husband was irritated with Elizabeth he was about to put on gloves ask for lubrication and stretch me himself. After having my beautiful baby my recovery was ridiculous! There was only 2 nurses that saw how swollen and hurt I was so they helped me w my ice packs and tucks pads and epifoam etc and they were informative about how many applications daily I need etc and helped me. But afterwards no other nurses really check massaged my uterus or helped me knowing my history with hemmoraghing and when I ran out of ice packs and tucks pads and asked for an epifoam to bring home and pads the other nurses gave me a hard time and said I didn't need it. I'm sorry... excuse me??? you dont know what I need or don't need. If you just pushed out an 8lb baby sunnyside up and tore and hemmoroids coming out like a biscuit you don't tell me I don't need anymore ice packs and giving me a hard time w extra tucks pads and epifoam. I go to the bathroom every 2 hours to help shrink my uterus, I get up and down myself and take care of myself. You cannot tell me I only need 1 tucks pad for all swollen areas. My husband could have gone and gotten it over the counter but the point is I needed it right then and there. I cried because I was so frustrated! I changed my insurance to give birth To my second baby there cause I heard my sis in law had a great experience there but I got the bad end of the stick.
The last thing a recovering patient needs is to cry from pain or feeling like they are mistreated. I'm not delivering here anymore No more babies at this hospital. I only enjoyed 2 of my 6 nurses it was Shannon and Teresa who i can tell take their jobs seriously writing on the boards and checking on me religiously and has a sweetness to them that made me feel safe. Other than that I don't recommend having your baby here if you want to feel comfortable or make your recovery go by with ease. Good luck if you go here I wish I went back to medical city at forest lane w dr milstein. They gave me extra stuff to help with my recovery! Checked on my swollen areas and helped me! They went above and beyond to help me there. All the nurses there were sweet the food there wasn't good but food isn't important as your health and comfort level. Baylor frisco you disappoint me so much you don't deserve any stars. None!

I was extremely impressed with the staff at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center. It was the first time I felt I was given enough information in advance to know where we are at in the surgery process and what to expect next.

I was never left without instructions on what was going to happen next and when. Everyone was very nice and professional and followed up with me (the anxious wife) just as promised.

The chaplain also came around and talked to those in the waiting area. It was nice to be able to express my anxiety and just have someone pull me out of the emotional hole I was in and talk for a while.

I would HIGHLY recommend this facility.

The best thing about this hospital is the labor and delivery unit. It's quite amazing. DO NOT use their emergency services however. We have been there twice and had to wait for an hour with no one in the waiting room and had people check in after us but got to go ahead of us while my wife was in visible excruciating pain! This time we had to leave and go somewhere else. Front desk staff saw her pain and couldn't care less.

The nursing staff in labor and delivery for the most part were very nice and helpful. With a few exceptions. The billing staff was absolutely bar none the worst I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. You would think the work off commission the way they demand payment prior to evening giving birth of having an estimate in hand. After I delivered and called with billing questions I can safely say I have never been treated so poorly by business staff. I was in the medical field myself prior to having children and I can safely say that I would never tolerate the behavior from the staff in the billing department. It takes weeks to get calls back, I had to call multiple times to get a call back. If I am in need of a hospital again I will absolutely not go back to BMCF.

I do not recommend this hospital for emergency situations that may require an on-call surgeon. Don t go here. Grossly negligent. I had an appendicitis and had to have surgery. The doctor on call had to put in stitches and she didn t tell me. Because of severe pain I went to the emergency room a few days later and they did a CT scan and they didn t tell me I had stitches either. I found out over a week later after a follow up with the surgeon, Dr Mc Calum (sp) when I pushed her on why I had so much pain. After she told me about the stitches (over a week after surgery), she told me to be carful not to hemmorage. Really? DONT GO HERE.

We had a wonderful labor and delivery experience here in 2018. Are returning at the end of this year for second baby and have high expectations. The only negative that comes to mind is when we were leaving the nurse didn't offer me a wheelchair or any help getting to the car. It definitely felt like hey, get out of here as she and my husband and baby were 10 steps ahead of me walking out the long hallway.

The emergency room here has always treated me well and in a timely manner, but I've come to find out that they sell medical debt to debt collectors who then report it to credit bureaus. Its a sad state that things in your life can be put on hold because of medical debt. I get that they have to work within the system, but i just wanted to post this as a warning.

My son was admitted for a broken ankle almost a year ago. I posted a review which has been deleted-not sure why. First this Baylor Hospital is partially owned by the doctors who work there, which means if Baylor is listed as one of your hospitals for insurance, this Baylor may not be one of them. We chose the hospital because my son was in such pain and we could not wait a week for Plano to have an opening for surgery. While the nursing staff was okay and the food was good, there's a very poor level of communication. My son was never weaned off of the pain meds until he was literally going out the door-they kept him there only two days after surgery consisting of two plates and sixteen screws....As a result, he suffered from serious and disturbing pain and withdrawal symptoms which nobody-not the hospital and not the surgeon-seemed to care much about. The billing office is horrible-demanding thousands upfront before we could even schedule surgery and after we got the bills, they would not talk to us, often hanging up on my son when he asked about specific charges for services he's not even sure he received. Having gone through that a year ago and having seen how Plano Presby treats their patients-I would choose Plano Presbyterian every time. I'm sure if your doctor is on staff and if you are a maternity patient things are different. But for other surgery and treatment, there are better options than this facility.

Baylor Frisco looks like a hotel, very clean, provides great food. However the hospital is not equipped to handle complicated matters during delivery. I almost died from HELLP syndrome during child birth and they didn t have the resources to treat it.
Moreover, when I went in for postpartum preeclampsia the ER doctor sent me home with a high BP, I had to come back few hours later to be admitted and had to basically manage my own care, luckily I have siblings and uncle that are physicians in another state and because of that I am alive. And lastly, the price tag is nice and high as well just not enough brain .

The clinical portion of my care was excellent. The administrative portion, however, needs much improvement.

Expedite your check-in process. It took an inordinately long time to even get to the representatives at the front desk, to check-in for my surgery. Since I had completed all the necessary procedures, and paid my portion, why do I have to wait in the same line as those who did not pre-register? Additionally, once I got my turn at the desk, the representative was interrupted numerous times for other issues, causing me to stand their even longer!! You claim to be worried about COVID (contact), but keep people standing in the lobby to check-in??

We had our baby delivered here. One bad apple is all it takes. Everyone we meet appeared skilled and helpful. Our only complaint is a single nurse. She was way too rough with our baby, and before wheeling our baby out of the room she called our baby lazy. Like how can a baby be lazy? I should have never let them take our baby to the back room.

We had a C- section on 16th June 2016, we are discharged today and here is what our experiences look like.

Nurses and staff are friendly especially Olivia, she was awesome and very helpful, checked not only on mom but also baby every 2 hours and made sure both are doing well. Special mention to Carole (nursery nurse) and all the mom nurses for good service. I wish discharge was more clear and helpful.

Coming to the disappointed aspects (billing review I will add as soon as I receive and tackle it). Most of staff and nurses are stingy on the basic supplies like patient gowns, baby formula, diapers, towels, wash clothes and even no tolietry supplies at all. All the supplies are very minimal examples 5-10 diapers, 1 or no towels, no formula milk on first 24 hours even though requested and mostly when needed etc.

If I need to request any baby supplies especially nursery staff are not very responsive mostly and not always followed on baby care especially when mom was getting great care.

Room and bathroom cleanliness is not good no one ever cleaned the room during stay of 4 days just emptied the trash cans and never bothered about supplies too. Mom nurse Olivia helped us lot and kept an eye on supplies for mom and baby sometimes even the room supplies too.

Just got registered today for our upcoming delivery. Laura P was AWESOME!!! She answered all our questions and we had a great time talking to her. I actually left there with an overall calm feeling! I'm a planner type of person and I like to know everything I can about the situation... and Laura helped that! I feel super comfortable about our delivery....as much as one can!! Oh side note, we must have looked lost... a sweet woman named Nicholette stopped us to ask if we needed help. Told her we were there to register and she walked us over to the elevator and filled us in on a few things we need to know. We didn't even feel like we were in a hospital!

The best thing about this hospital is the food. My daughter Tricia Brown ha been here 2 days for wound care And to get ready for surgery tomorrow. They have let her pain get out of control time and time again. It takes from 1:30 to 3 hours before anything is done for her. Her bandage on her wound has been wet for 1:30 hours and they are just now changing it. She has been in and out of hospitals for over 2 months and is having her 4th surgery in that length of time. She has been on the 2nd floor and I hope she can be moved after surgery.

The labor and delivery part of our experience was excellent. Very caring nurses and staff, and they really took good care of us.... the food was so incredibly good! It was better than a lot of restaurants. After we got to the postpartum floor, we still had caring nurses, but the nursery experience and how they cared for our new baby girl was horrible. They acted as if we were asking too many questions about breastfeeding and like they were too busy for us. Honestly, the nursery staff acted as if they couldn t care less about us or our baby. We tried to let the baby go to the nursery one night because we had not gotten any sleep, and they came rushing back in to our room with the baby 30 minutes after... waking us up, and telling us to take care of our child because she seemed unsettled. Then we get a bill in the mail separately billed from the nursery for $1200 when they acted like they couldn t be bothered to help us with our new baby. That was upsetting. If you don t plan on using the nursery services, then you will have a great experience here.

We had our first child born at BSW Frisco. Due to COVID19 we were very scared and concerned about the whole process. We didn't have a chance to visit the facility before. I had my first baby at BSW Frisco one week ago. All I can say is good things about this hospital. Attention was great, I got there for induction and one nurse was already waiting for me when we got out of the elevator, they took the time to explain every single thing they were doing. At the end I needed a csection and all the staff was great, caring, patient. All nurses after the csection were awesome, very helpful and I felt really cared for with all of them. I can t remember all the names of the nurses and lactation consultants but Katie, Ashleigh, Ana, Teresa, Winnie, (I think that is how her name spelled) were amazing and made me feel better with their care and attention. Food was very good too, a lot of options to pick from, celebration dinner was delicious. The rooms I stayed at were very clean, the only bad thing I could say is the beds are not comfortable at all, I had sciatica/hip pain all pregnancy and all of the beds were killing me, I still give 5 stars because of all the good attention I got. I received a call from them a few days after I was sent home, they checked on how I was doing and how my baby girl was, the discharge process was really easy for me and for my baby as well. I would recommend this hospital to any friend/family member to deliver their babies, and if we have one more baby in the future, we will definitely use Baylor Scott and White.

* If I were reviewing the billing department I would be leaving 0 stars. The accounting staff are super rude and pushy. They demanded payment IN FULL or threatened to take me off the induction schedule, even though they couldn't tell me what I was pre paying for with any sort of statement. *

However, I'm here to review the hospital accommodations and staff. The nurses here are so incredible. They all appear to love their jobs and caring for patients. I never had any pushy nurses and even overnight, while they still checked in on me, they seemed to really want me to rest when I could. They were phenomenal at making sure I was comfy at all times. There are too many to thank but my entire experience with everyone was really great! (Also, the food selection was really vast and tasty - you forget you're in a hospital!)

Most notably, the nursery staff were so so sweet and took wonderful care of my newborn. They made me feel totally at ease when sending my baby to the nursery and not at all bad for the times I wanted to sleep. Shy and Leslie M.: you ladies are seriously angels and you can see your genuine love for babies! I loved and appreciated you both so much during my stay! When I had my firstborn here, my care was excellent, yet they weren't always great about bringing my baby back when I called for her or every 3 hours (understandably, these nurses are crazyyy busy!) But this time, they were always quick to get my baby to me on time or anytime I requested her. They were also able to tell me EVERYTHING about what she'd done in the last 3 hours, which was so nice!

Aside from the abrasive accounting people, I'd 100% recommend having your baby here!

This facility double bills - one from the doctors in the urgent care and another from the hospital even though you walked into the urgent care for a problem. The insurance agency can do nothing about this as they receive 2 separate claims and the person ends up paying twice! It's really frustrating and I'm sure they cover themselves by making you sign 100 forms but I won't be using this urgent care facility again in future.

The service took me 5 hours and many many months of haggling with insurance and the hopital!

I had a great experience in the ER on 12/3/18. From the time I checked in to the time I was seen in the back. I came in having pain all over my body from my fibromyalgia and everybody was so helpful and caring. I had Dr. Bond and Nurse John and they were both very compassionate about my situation. They didn t rush me off thinking I was a pain medicine seeker and really took care of me. Thanks so much!!

Starting from the ER I would love to recognize Mosby, she was one of rhe best nurses I've ever met. As a retired army nurse, she was completely "high-speed" and went completely above and beyond her duties as a nurse to make sure my father got the best care possible. The ICU nurses were amazing thank you to Elana and Roncarlos for your skills and putting up with our constant questions. And in Telemetry thank you to Haley and Arati for your care and listening to all our concerns you guys exemplify what nursing is about. You all did do amazing, thank you is not enough.

Had surgery on my ruptured achilles in this hospital. I was greatly impressed by how well the facility is equipped with the most modern healing and diagnostic equipment operated by professionals that have a true sense of caring about their patients welfare.

We had a very bad experience in this hospital last...

We had a very bad experience in this hospital last month when my wife was admitted for labor and delivery. She was completely dilated and ready to push the baby, but the nurse didn't allow her to push , she asked my wife not to push the baby until the doctor arrives. Nurse called the doctor (she said so) many times . It was 6.15 am and the duty doctor's shift ends at 7 am so he didn't come instead he asked the next doctor who takes in charge at 7 am to attend the patient. And the next doctor came at 7 10 am and then my wife delivered the baby. My wife had to hold the baby for almost an hour. She went thru lot of pain. we all know doctors are so dedicated , punctual, work day and night. How come such a big hospital have doctors like him. Hospital should take some action against him so that he doesn't repeat the same mistake again.

As first time parents we were absolutely amazed by the service we receive at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Frisco. The friendliness, dedication, professionalism and enthusiasm of the staff (round the clock!) made our labor and delivery experience even more unforgettable. We felt special from the moment we entered the building for temperature screening. Special shout to lactation consultants for their coaching and support and making sure we are all set before discharge. Last but not least big thank you to the room service staff for delicious food and ensuring we didn't miss any meals.

Based on all of the outstanding reviews of the Lab...

Based on all of the outstanding reviews of the Labor & Delivery, I was sadly very disappointed. I had my baby there in early March, and although the facility was nice, the treatment from the nurses was not.

To preface this long review, the postpartum nurses were great, and Janey the lactation consultant was SO helpful. Those are honestly the only 2 good things I have to say.

To give the short and condensed version, during labor I was called the labor loser by my day nurse for being the only one on the floor to not have my baby during the day shift- real encouraging. Then my night shift nurse who was there while I delivered was so negative and caused me so much more anxiety than necessary. She repeatedly was telling me about all of the worst case things that could happen and be dangerous (I had zero complications and a perfectly safe delivery). She was also extremely unhelpful during pushing and I had to explicitly ask her to be encouraging to help me through my 29 hour labor.

The nursery nurses are AWFUL! If you want to send your baby away to the nursery, then by all means, you ll love it. I, however, wanted to be with my baby at all times, and the nursery nurses were NOT supportive. I could go on and on, but it was disgusting. I had to ask 4 times for assistance breastfeeding right after delivery. They were repeatedly trying to take my baby from me, threatened to give formula against my wishes (my baby didn t need it), gave me a lecture about not using their services, tried to take the baby out of the room for unneeded tests 20 MINUTES after delivery (labor nurse called nursery charge nurse and nursery nurse forced to apologize), watched us on camera the entire time, and so much more. There was a general bad attitude towards me for not allowing them to take my baby whenever they felt like for no good reason. I felt like they were mad that I wanted to actually take care of my baby instead of them.

I feel so sad for first time mothers who are passive or don t know enough about what it should be like who can t advocate for themselves. The nurses really felt like bullies instead of caring and supportive.

My OBGYN recently left to go to a different hospital system, and I would not be surprised if it was due to complaints. I will not be delivering my babies at Baylor Frisco again, and I am so sad that is how they treat new mothers.

Baylor Frisco is amazing! I had my hysterectomy here this week and every single person on staff was professional, kind and thoughtful. I never felt like I was bothering them or felt rushed. They took their time with my questions and when I needed help getting up. The food is wonderful. They have an executive chef on staff. Hopefully I will never need another hospital stay but if I do you can guarantee this is where I want to be. Thank you Baylor for such a great stay

The postpartum nurses were amazing, however a few of the labor and delivery nurses were very rude and hateful. One even made the comment that my legs were the heaviest she had ever lifted. However, the worst of the worst was Dr. Chesshir, who was exceptionally rude and cold.
The saving grace was Karen. She was genuinely kind and supportive. However, her kindness could not outweigh the rudeness of some of her colleagues.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience delivering our second child here. The staff was friendly, attentive, and compassionate, especially the delivery nurses and neonatal nurse (special shout out to Dawn, Kimberly, and Stacey). The food is exceptional and we enjoyed our steak and lobster dinner the night before discharge. The rooms are clean and cozy. We were unsure how the experience would be with recent COVID-19 rules put in place, but it was very comfortable. We will definitely have Baylor Scott & White at the top of our minds with the next baby.
