Great Vibe. Good food. I'd recommend the southern fried taco.

In the time of Covid 19, this delivery experience was terrific. The food was fresh and delicious. The best tacos, guacamole and fixings in Lexington.

Casual order at the counter and have delivered to table. Fresh food. Very tasty.

The Vegetarian tacos w/ Habanero lime sauce was awesome. As a vegetarian, I am always limited to options, but this place was great

Great selection of gourmet "craft" tacos using unique combination. For example, today's special is spicy seared scallops tacos. Other favorites include Korean BBQ tacos, brisket tacos. Their Mexican tater tots are delicious. The Cuban street corn (on the cob) is awesome. Rotating specials have included beer and bacon braised Brussels sprouts, corned beef tacos, etc. Located inside a cozy old house near University of Kentucky campus. The bar offers a good selection of craft cocktails, draft beer and margaritas. Outdoor seating available. This place is definitely worth a try, although it can be a touch pricey at $3 for one small (but delicious) taco.

Absolutely LOVE the korean beef tacos and buffalo chicken tacos! Sooo much flavor packed into a simple dish, and made with ingredients that taste fresh and real, they are delicious! Their sides are alright, not on the same level as the tacos, but certainly not bad. Very good chips and queso, and their food holds up surprisingly well for carry out orders - doesn't become a soggy cold mess by the time you're home and ready to eat it.

I almost always order carry out and when I go to pick it up there is often a line out the door and onto the sidewalk. This place is apparently very popular with the college crowds.

some of the best food in town. the first time i came to lexington i was recommended to come here. i do love mexican food so i had high hopes. i was pleasantly surprised. the service is fast and quality is high. definitely a go-to if you re in the area, i always find a time to go.

Landed in Lexington, Kentucky today in time for lunch and immediately looked up best place for tacos and it lead me to The Local Taco Lexington. So glad it did. Awesome tacos and queso!

Unique taco recipes including a buffalo chicken with blue cheese crumbles and thinly sliced celery. They also have this thing called a Beerita. Half Margarita half either Dos Equis or Corona, try to only have one. Drink responsibly, my friend.

There is something to be said about a jovial bartender on a cold and miserable day. I stumbled into this establishment a few weeks ago. It was Friday night and I just finished a strenuous week of work I was ready for a few drinks. I found a seat at the bar and was still shivering from the cold when the bartender approached me with a warm, cordial smile and asked Hey! Whatcha havin? . Since the bar was nearly full I expected to wait awhile for my drink, however, it arrived before I could finish removing my coat. I was astonished. I watched the bartender work. She was in her element. She deftly moved about the bar creating drinks, conversing with patrons, and smiling always smiling. As soon as I finished a beer, a topped off glass was sitting in its place. I noticed this was done for every patron everyone was cared for and treated with the utmost professionalism and respect. I originally planned to have a few drinks and leave, but I was so enthralled by the experience I decided to stay. It s amazing how the miserable weather outside, a terrible work week, and a depressed disposition can disappear by the actions of a single bartender. Keep up the good work, Kelley!

Went on a Wednesday for lunch. The atmosphere was perfect. Great weather, not too loud and I could carry on a conversation with my two friends easily.

I ordered a spicy shrimp taco and it was very tasty.
I then tried the Fish Taco and it was very good. Not over done. Light and crisp.
Finally I tried the special of the day, a pork taco that was my favorite. The toppings made the meal.

Solid Guac and Queso too! Chips are the exact way I like them.

After really falling in love with tacos, everyone I knew recommended I try the Local Taco. They serve fusion-style tacos here with smaller tortillas and topping combinations that pack a real punch. My first time at the restaurant was incredibly crowded because it is so beloved, but the second time was peaceful and delicious. Not to mention the staff was incredibly nice, and they eat food made there each day to make sure it is up to par. Genuinely surprised at how good this is. Definitely an amazing place close to campus.

I can't get enough of these place. The atmosphere is awesome, and the food is epic.

Love the location, menu, size of plates, drinks, etc... but tacos are always lacking in flavor. I say it every time, then forget and go back every six months or so and immediately remember.

A busy little place during lunch hour, go figure. It's well worth the wait. Considering how busy it was our order came fast. You choose from different featured tacos and enchiladas. Basically $3 each and $3.75 enchiladas. This was my first time eating there and everything was very good. I recommend the "The Local Taco". Tacos topped with Cole slaw. Yummy!

Kinda bland, nothing special. The spicy shrimp taco was pretty good though.

Had the steak taco and brisket taco. Both were excellent! Their ice tea is also phenomenal!

This is my favorite place to eat in Lexington! Honestly, when I think of Lexington I think The Local Taco. I've never been disappointed! Great food and great atmosphere. There's a reason why the line is always out the door!

Great food and they get it to you quickly. Friendly staff. But the portions are small, especially for the price that you pay. Cute place and fun to try once or twice, but I would not go regularly just because of the price to portion ratio.

Great food and specials. If you follow them on social media they will post their "taco of the day/week" which tends to be something pretty awesome. They struggle with seating because people will come in and take two hours+ because they decide to drink so just plan accordingly to waiting and finding a table.

Close to five stars. Food wasn't very hot when it came out. Flavors were very good, but there was no reason for cold food - the restaurant was pretty dead.

So........ I feel like I have been catfished. I mean like I have been chatting with this smokin hot blonde for 6 months and I finally get to meet her and then, wait !, what???? Not a smokin hot blonde at all!!! I m mad!!! Tacos were ! I can t believe all the hype. The girl who took our order was nice and the sangria was cool too. But the tacos=disappointed taco lover!! Enter at your own risk! I tried to warn ya!!

It was pretty good I cannot lie. Great places to go for a quick bite and a beer.

I took a large group of folks here for lunch and it was crowded but we were able to find a place to squeeze together (ideal, really). The ambiance was spot on and the tacos were delicious. The helpings are deceptively filling. I recommend the steak taco. I ll be back to try the more and different combinations.

Went to Lexington for business, and my coworker toured me around. Nice atmosphere, great food. I got the Korean BBQ taco and the southern fried chicken taco - both were really good. Southern fried chicken was better, the Korean BBQ was a little dry but still good. Also got chips and queso and it was also so very worth it! Would definitely go again.

They didn't have the smoked salmon tacos that i saw on chef's of the bluegrass..

This place is wonderful. It has a neat location near campus and they have garage doors in the front on nice days they open. The food is good and always has a special taco. It is a little bit more pricey than most places but worth it for the environment and food.

Have been waiting to finally get to try this place. Was very busy but got food quick. Was top notch. When it came out was thinking wow not much to this. Was I ever wrong. Flavor just blew me away. A must try for anyone in Lexington

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Lexington. It has amazing food and a great college town atmosphere. I love how much seating is available, both inside and outside, and it has a decent amount of parking spots on the street available throughout the day.

Just when you think you have hit all the street tacos worth trying, the Local slaps you in the face with reality. Simply the best overall tacos out there...great staff, atmosphere, prices. Owner is great-always there and working to make everything better than the rest. Try the steak taco, and especially the oyster if it is on the menu. Fish and shrimp tacos are also near perfect!
