When arriving in our room there were multiple fans and dehumidifiers because water got into our room from the hurricane. Also found a cockroach in our bathroom that i had to kill and dispose of. Only 2 out of 4 elevators worked so it was a nightmare to even get to your room.

The location is great, the room was fine. The front desk people were nice. The resort was not great, NO TOWELS...even after calling the front desk and going to the front desk. No room service, once you are checked in, you are on your own!!! My room was not ready at time of check in. The overall customer service rating is very poor. When I come back, I really hope the customer service is better at one of the other resort .
Nastiest hotel I ever stayed in. Cockroaches running around. Trash sits in hall for days at a time. Vents have dirt and dust coming from them. Loud guest and vulgar music.
Very nice hotel overall. My wife and kids enjoyed the free dvd rental kiosk at night. Location is in walking distance of many attractions. The congested and slow working elevators give it 3 stars. You are likely to wait a very long time for an elevator. During our time one of the four elevators was down for the duration of our stay. Parking is across the road in a secure garage (must use your key card to get in at anytime) overall if you do not mind waiting on elevators this is a great place.
Everything was okay up until I called because I had left my things that were very costly in the room by mistake I called as soon as I notice I did not have them they charged me $20 to ship it home and basically I got my shipment only to find half of my things were gone. I'm highly aggravated and upset that a housekeeper was supposed to return all of my things and didn't so for that I will give a one star and will be calling someone over housekeeping's head.
This hotel is pretty nice. The room was incredibly clean and well decorated. Everything was in perfect working order and I loved the layout of the room. We were able to have s one privacy yet still have the family close together. The kitchen had all of the things that we needed so I didn't have to go out and buy extra things. The housekeeping staff was very professional and made sure that we had the items we needed daily and that our room was cleaned if we asked. Iverall, we enjoyed our stay very much and will definitely return in the future. I will also recommend to my friends.
Went down for Christmas with my daughter so of course we brought food to enjoy. The fridge in our room had not been cleaned for days. There was a stinch of old sour what appeared to be milk in the fridge stuck to the bottom..No housekeeping around to help out.. Luckily I knew other people staying here at the time of my stay. So I took my perishables to their room and used their fridge. In return I gave them my extra roll of toilet tissue because they did not have any in their room.. And of course no housekeeping to bring any... This stay was fairly disappointing.
Beautiful place to stay. Everybody on their staff is terrific! Our stay was cut short due hurrican Florence.. But oh we are coming back! Beds woderful! Room beautiful decor! Elevators worked great! Food was fantastic! From breakfast to dinner the hotel food was great! Oh the drinks yummy, so don't forget happy hour everday and the Pool w/ many hot tubs loved, Loved! Sounds of the ocean right outside my Door. This is the life! Their grounds were immaculate, they kept every inch pristine! The Resort is located on the boawrdwalk so we took evening strolls to area restaurants via the boardwalk and up & down the Beach. can't say enough. If you wanted you could park, walk or bike your entire vacation. Looking forward to a winter escape to our Lovely South Bay Inns and Suites!
The valet was great! I've never used valet before but I was really thankful that it was offered. The parking garage was two streets over and is not in a good area. The staff was nice. The room was nice and clean for the most part. The elevators were SLOW, half worked and were not air conditioned. Check out day was terrible. After waiting for quite a while on the elevator my husband and I gave up and carried everything down from the 16th floor! The pool is right where you walk in the door which means you've got to unload everything and bring it in on a wet floor. I was so excited to stay at Bay View but wouldnt stay again.
UPDATE: The location of this hotel is NOT a safe spot in Myrtle Beach. Consider hotels several blocks north. However, I did still have a fantastic time during my stay.
I stayed here for my first ever vacation, and this has been wonderful. The staff is friendly, the room is clean and well maintained, and it is exactly what I was expecting.
I have stayed in almost every hotel, motel, resort, on the beach and this one by faaar is the best. Hands down no comparison. STAFF is intelligent and friendly yet professional. The condition of the rooms are emmaculant. Great job Bay View.
We go to the Bay View at least 2 tines a year. This after trying many other resorts. Clean, friendly staff. Nice views, well taken care of resort. Great for kids with a slow moving river indoors. A keyed in parking deck. Great rooms.
Beds were terrible. They let the kids at the pool, run freely. Half the kids at the pool did not wear pool bracelets. Learned later that families from other hotels and kids from the beach utilizes Bayview pools and sauna.
I stayed from July 9 to July 13 and the first night all we heard was screaming and doors slamming. The second night there was a drunk just outside the hotel just yelling and screaming, I do not blame the hotel for that but when I called the front desk no one answered. I ended up going down to the front desk where there was on person checking in and 2 employees behind the desk. I told them to answer their phone, I also stated to call the cops to get that drunk taken care of but all I got was a dumb look. I went back upstairs and waited, I seen a cop go on by but did not stop. I ended up calling the police and good thing, they were not only drunk but had drugs. I asked that the manager call me at my room to discuss what was going on but of course no response. We then had maintenance in the room to fix a plugged toilet and we told them that the light switch was bad and needed replaced, he said he would take care of it but big surprise nothing was done. At our checkout I was telling the front desk that the stay and service was terrible, especially for the price and all I got was a mere $100.00 off my bill. I told her that was ridiculous since every door in the hotel slams. She said that was because of a "Wind Tunnel" affect, not I might not be an engineer but I do not know being in construction for 30+ years that the door closer would have prevented that slamming if they were adjusted properly. The fact is that they were not adjusted properly and that a lot of doors that I opened were warped and needed repaired or replaced. Then I looked at my bill and found a bunch of extra charges on top of my room fee, stuff like resort fee (what on earth is that?). Seen one cockroach in our room but at least there was no bed bugs but then again the mattress was crappy or broken. I would have had a better time at a Motel 6 plus saved a lot of money, I would never stay in this hotel again nor would I recommend this hotel to anyone.
The staff are very welcoming on top of having such a clean and wonderful smelling hotel. The prices of the rooms are very reasonable, especially for the oceanview rooms!
I remember when this place was built. Very busy. Getting alittle run down but still nice. Elevators are slow, ALOT OF PEOPLE. Check in and out is crowded.
Hotel doors were loud and heavy so we often heard the doors being slammed. No outdoor pool or restaurant. Family enjoyed the indoor pool area and splash pad though
Room is on the smaller side, and the walls are extremely thin. We could hear everything the people next door we're saying and they were loud all night. Best part is the awesome ocean view!
Room 208A, Woke this mrg with a bedbug on husbands pillow! YUK!!! Mgmt immediately offered different room on 11th floor. We declined. Mgmt provided full refund. Tangela and Wanda were both great with getting this resolved!!
Love my stay here so happy Thank you all in housekeeping u kept up on the.cleaning here u are all nice people .best place to stay when you came to Myrtle beach.r room was.1106 loved r room too one of the best thank Bay View
WOW! Fairly new place that's well maintained. Friendly staff that will do anything to help you enjoy your stay. Ask for Chevon at the front desk, she was unbelievably friendly and helpful setting is up for a return visit! We will definitely be returning again and again.
My fiance and I stayed one night during the New Years holiday and absolutely love our stay. This accounts for our 2nd time stay here in the Myrtle Beach area. I definitely recommend this resort during the winter months if anyone is trying to avoid traffic and need a little bit of rest and relaxation after the holidays. The only inconvenience was the parking deck id not attached to the main entrance, so you have to walk across the street to get to your car. At this present time the state were working on the boulevard and there's a lot of construction going on. Let's hope all is repaired in time for the summer months or else there's going to be mayhem.
We visit in the summer a bunch but first time staying here. The front desk agents were nice enough. While the rooms were decent and pretty clean, there was a particular housekeeper (14th floor) that was extremely rude. Then there is the nightmare of the elevators, it made us dread leaving and coming back because there was no telling how long you would wait for one just to be packed in like sardines. Some people got stuck on one for hours! At one point only 2 elevators for 18 floors. At least I got my exercise in running up and down the stairs to the 14th floor instead because it was quicker. The pool area is decent but honestly not big enough in the summer months when it's swarmed with people. Also on some booking sites they state there's an outside pool which there is not. When we mentioned this to staff they laughed it off. Not to mention when booking we specifically booked for the 'ocean view' room only to have that laughed off as well. Overall, next time I think we will be booking elsewhere.
Always go here for thanksgiving. This year will be my love and I 7th. Year going I only get ocean front condos. Love the space and staff. But!! If prices keep going up each year. Well we all know that answer.
Google is the best and should be used prior to booking a condo. Try it now! Type in Bay View, Ocean Blvd, myrtle beach, s h o o t i n g. We arrived in the midst of a g@ng w@r according to the headlines in the news. We left after 1 day and we are so happy we did. There was another exchange of lead at people who got lead poisoning across the street at a terrible looking motel. Back to Bay View...smells of w e e d, trash litters the sidewalks outside. I have photos and links to prove my points. Try Google earth for yourself. Don't be fooled like we were. Stay in North Myrtle.
Management please contact me 465129 reservation # My stay was horrible. I checked out 1 day early and was still charged the full price. Doors was slamming all night, kids screaming right under our room bright and early with the sprinklers. I slipped on the icemachine water that was leaking that had no sign posted because i had my hands full and couldnt see the floor was wet. My husband slipped and fell in the elevator because it was wet and to top it all off we are sitting on our balcony and water comes gushing down soaking the both of us From 2 floors above. I videod it. We are exhausted and are driving the 13 hours home because of the bad visit we had and nothing was done about it except our money taken. So i would like to have someone that can do something about this call me. My number is in our reservation number that i left above we stayed the 5th and 6th of july. We was supposed to check out on sunday the 7th but couldnt take it anymore so we left at 730-8 pm on the 6th
Pleasant, the rooms were good but really needed a good thorough cleaning. (surface clean) Bed was good. We enjoyed the pool and sauna a lot and the access to the beach. It was great to have a mini kitchen so we didn't have to eat out all the time. Bring your own plastic eatery. Each group is responsible for cleaning up there silver wear. (not my cup of tea). We brought paper goods even through they had every thing in the kitchen. I would recommend this place. One draw back was no enough chairs on the balcony. Only 2 chairs and the room sleeps 4 plus the outside balcony rug needed updating.
The room was spacious and the view of ocean from balcony good. However, the room safe was broken and could not be fixed by staff. Also, the thermostat was broken, and the air conditioning ran almost constantly, making the room uncomfortably cold a lot of the time.
Great place to stay it's like an apartment.. lots of stuff for the kids.. my only complain is that it's so hard to go check in cause there is a small parking area and everybody is trying to unload and check in it gets hectic. People just grab carts that haven't even checked in then your waiting when you already check in there should be a system somehow...
We have always stayed here and have never had a problem until this visit. First let me say that Wanda at the front desk is the greatest. Upon entering the room everything seemed fine but as soon as we got our carts unloaded we spotted 2 dead roaches. The room was dusty so we just thought that no one had been in it for a while so that s why it had the dead roaches. Well we killed roaches daily, we stayed 3 nights in an oceanfront condo and killed a total of 8 roaches. Of course no other rooms were available. We had to basically beg to get our room cleaned. Erick at the front desk told me they only clean the rooms every three days. So after several calls they finally sent someone to clean the room at 6pm. They came at 4:30pm the next day after several calls to the front desk. We were really disappointed with our stay this time. They really need to exterminate and if they cleaned the rooms daily that might help too.
The couch in room 1108A was broken. The arm chairs had water or urine stains on them. Dried up vomit on the balcony. So I requested another room. They happily moved me to another room 805A. Which was not much better than the previous. It wasnt dusted sand all on the bathroom cabinets toilet bowl stained from poor cleaning. Dirty windows fingerprints and chips on the floor. A housekeeper came up and address this. The worst part is..i woke up with bits all over my arms legs ans face. The manager came up to survey the bed for BedBugs.. no sorry or nothing. Needless to say my vacation was ended and we left early..to go home and sanitize our items. Too costly for this type of condition. Beware of those reviews with 4 stars
Good amenities, great beach. Check-in parking area is horrible and always backed up into street. Room is okay, some cleanliness issues. Hair in bedding/towels, on sink and tub. Saw one baby cockroach on first night. Seems they just barely have the staff to maintain the place.
If the problems we had had persisted, this would have been a one- or two-star review. When we arrived, there were messes of pizza crumbs, carrots, and bodily fluids that were not cleaned up. We asked to have the room re-cleaned, which they did, but the housekeeping staff left behind most of the disgusting germy messes. The wonderful night manager tried to get them to fix it, but he ultimately went up to our unit and cleaned it himself (thank you!!!!!). He went above and beyond the call of duty. The front desk staff for the most part were fantastic. The other issue we had was the AC not working, costing us the first night of sleep. It was so muggy and uncomfortable in the room. They fixed this on the second day of our stay. The room itself was nice and the location is really convenient to everything on the boardwalk. The only issue was the constant smell of burning marijuana which caused my allergies to go into overdrive, and we witnessed several crack deals near the parking deck. This is really not the place to stay if you have young children, or if you have teens who want to wander around by themselves. I would not let my children out of my sight here... I emphasize that nothing bad happened to my husband or me- just that we felt a little concerned about the surrounding area. This was the best price we could find for a 1-bedroom oceanfront condo with w/d in the unit. Overall we had a good vacation, but we probably will stay in North Beach Plantation next time (we stayed there before and loved it). By the way, the elevator situation is very frustrating due to the number of people waiting for the elevator, which made loading and unloading our car very slow... they need more elevators here.
Decent for the price. Needs a bigger pool instead of small pool...lazy river...kiddie pool...etc.otherwise decent. Great ocean views. I would consider staying here again.
I have stayed here previously. I am having the same issue as before. I like the facility. I like the restaurants and bars. The check in is horrendous!!! I sit in the lobby waiting on my room to be ready. I am watching person after person check in. I have been sitting here for over an hour and MY room isn t ready but everyone else is checking in. This is an exact repeat from the last time I stayed here. I. Will. Not. Be. Back.
Friendly staff, awesome parking, beatiful view of beach, right on the water, affordable, nice pool and gym, very clean room, would definitly use again.
