Good and clean. Big kitchen with a lot of stuff. There are always a lot of new travelers. So you can easily find new friends.

This whole thing is amazing! nice showers, table tennis, internet courtyard to kiss someone special, or drink a beer.
Go here and be thankful for being able to stay there, my advice :)

The place is right downtown Cluj, and by that I mean downtown is all around it. The place is clean, quiet, and safe; friendly, English speaking staff help you feel welcome and find your way around. It's been a great experience and I highly recommend the place.

Absolutely amazing hostel! Great location, big rooms, clean, nice garden, super friendly and helpful staff. They also organise a Palinca Tasting every evening which is great to meet new people, after that you usually go for dinner and check out the nightlife of Cluj. I would definetely stay again!

What bad things could one possibly say about this hostel?? Attentive, friendly staff. Clean, cosy environment, feeling like a little family. I could live here.

Best hostel in town - great location and wonderful staff

Very nice and central hostel with a large 8 bed dorm. The staff was really amazing - before, during and even after my stay. They were helping me figuring out how to get around before arriving, they helped me with some good recommendations during the stay and afterwards they made sure I reached my next location safely. Nothing to complain -showers, WiFi and breakfast were good.

Loved the place. It's in the core of Cluj, close to everything. Super nice staff which invites their guests for Palinka tasting and the opportunity to go out and eat with other guests of the hostel.

The place is really cosy and it feels like a home. The people running the hostel are very kind and friendly, which adds a good vibe to the place !

Great stay at the hostel, I would definitely recommend it to everyone travelling to Cluj. The staff were great and very attentive to your needs I would definitely stay here again.

Perfect location in the center of Cluj. Great facilities and staff that are awesome.

This hostel is located in the heart of the historic center of Cluj, in a nice building with an interior courtyard (with tables where one can enjoy a glass of wine and have conversations with friends). In spite of the central location, the hostel is very quiet during the night.

Every evening, the hostel staff organizes a small social get-together (including a shot of "palinca", a strong brandy) followed by dinner + beer / tea in the city. Hence, nobody feel lonely at Transylvania Hostel :)

Wow, what a lovely place! they organise free night out tour everyday which is very appreciated.This Hostel is a great option if you want to meet people and travel, but also if you just need a cozy convenient place with comfy bed, fancy shower, specious shared rooms and excellent location. I highly recommend this hostel to anyone! GO BOOK and book direct, I heard it's cheaper :)

I loved staying here and have had a blast! The hostel is literally located at the City Centre of the town. Amazing sightseeing doable by foot, because of the location and the staff in the hostel is super helpful.

The hostel is clean and seems cosy. There is only one con, which was the breakfast which is just a bag of bread laying on the table with a pot filled with jam. That was a little bummer! For the rest it is lovely to stay!

Although the toilets where a bit smelly, we had a pleasant stay and we enjoined the opportunity to bring extra people over (for some fun time) due to the extra mattresses

Really friendly staff. A great place to meet people thanks to the two common areas. I also spent a night at the Zen Hostel, which has a much better setup in terms of common areas, terraces and modern furniture.

Very humanhost, remember to go to Romania for the first time because of train delay, it is already half past two in the middle of the night, the reception girl is still and very kind, really is very heartfelt

Friendly and helpful staff

I am a solo traveler for 2,5 years and I consider this hostel one of the best, if not the best of all my travels. The staff (Roxy, Blanky, Andreea, Kristina, Sol, Maria) are the best and the environment is so cozy and friendly. Nice place to meet nice people and they even promote activities at night for people to interact! I extended 4 times and I wanted more, but I had to go. I got real friendship over there. The best ever!

Brilliant hostel. Great location. Decent price. Good facilities (free towel, tea, coffee), lovely garden. Well catered. Lockers are big and come with key and lock! (bit wobberly, but all good) 5*

Such great staff. My friend and I come from Chicago. We had a problem in our room and they came to help ASAP. The room was clean and comfortable. It is super close to the downtown area of Cluj so great for walking and grabbing a bite or to shop. From the airport you take the 5 or 8 bus, super easy.

Great ambient, comfy and clean befs, good shower. Nice spaces that allow meeting other travelers. Daily tasting of palinka is a great idea!

The best hostel I've encountered. Very cozy and with extremely helpful and friendly service. Super atmospheric garden, clean bathrooms and brushwood included in the price. What more could you want? Remember to be before 23 because then the reception is empty.

The hostel is located in the city center. The staff is hery friendly and helpful, also they had cool work away volunteers. The backyard is cousy and the kittchen has everything you need. There are enough bathrooms and for hostel standard they are really clean. The hostel also offers activities and a basic breakfast which makes it easy to get into touch with other guests. Rooms are small and basic but have lockers and the beds are okay. All in all a very good experience.

The best hostel in Cluj. Not a party hostel, more social meets chill/relax. The place is very clean, the beds are very comfortable, and the staff are awesome.

Excellent place!! The very good location very central, the rooms very spacious, the staff super attentive, the kitchen area very spacious and what surprised me was the assortment of spices that has the place so you can season your food. I only went for 3 days but the attentions, the comfort of the place and the environment of the place like the one in the city made me extend my stay in Cluj Napoca. For that reason, I gave the 5 stars without thinking and I highly recommend it !!

Central location, beautiful relaxation area, friendly and helpful staff.

They are simply the best hostel in the world. They definitely takes care from their guests, making the difference between the good places. The place is awesome, so clean and the employees are marvellously kind and helpful. I would definitely come back to Cluj-Napoca just to be hosted there.

I really liked this place! We had an incredible atmosphere! All the staff are friendly, kind, nice !! What I liked the most were the fish and the cleanliness !! Regarding the staff, I liked Cristi, Rada, Alexandra, Iulia because they are wonderful people, who help everyone regardless of problems !! In addition, this hostel has a games room that offers a lot of fun and relaxing activities !! In addition there is an activity !! The most pleasant thing about this activity is that you make new friends and learn new things and great locations !!

Great hostel :-) Wonderful showers, spacious dormitories and well equipped kitchen. There is a palinca tasting every evening which is great for meeting interesting people from all around.
The wonderful staff and volunteers here make this great hostel one of the best I have ever stayed in.

Basic but that s all you need. Lovely hospitality from the staff members, great recommendations for food and we also all went out together for food and some drinks. Lovely sociable lounge area and secure building.

Really civilised for a hostel! Clean beds, baths and toilets. Free breakfast available until 10 am. Not a big spread but basics like cereal and milk available. Clean kitchen area and a nice big common room. Lots of green area to chill as More

The location is great. The rooms are clean and the staff is helpful. Kitchen was not in great condition but fair enough, they provide some free breakfast.

We loved our time at Transylvania Hostel. It was full of travelers from all over, vibrant and interesting. My favorite part was the interior courtyard. It is private, has nice gardens and sitting areas. This hostel is well run. They provide breakfast, which I didn't even know was included, so that was a nice bonus surprise. They are serious about enforcing quiet times, which is good for those who are staying there and good for neighborly relations on their block. We had booked two private rooms with a shared bath. The suite was on the ground floor and quite lovely. We had an exterior locked door to the suite. The interior had additional locking doors to each of the bedrooms. This suite was big enough to sleep 6 people. One room had a full size bed and the second room had two queen beds. The hostel is close to the city center, and there is a parking garage a few blocks away from the hostel. Parking at the garage was a better rate than paying for nearby on-street parking. Clean and comfortable - we had a great stay!

Amazing staff, friendly atmosphere, comfortable beds

I love this place. Comfy, warm, home, Close to everything in walking distance. Enough shower and toilets for everyone. Staff are so friendly. Guest here are friendly and opened too.

*** No elevator, but that is fine. The hostel is on the 1 floor if you have ground floor.

This is the only hostel I've been to in Romania where they actually organised some events and tried to get people together. If you want to meet people, it's a good choice. Location is good, showers are good. Bunks are pretty squeaky.
