Shianna at the front desk was very helpful and actually knew what she was doing...room was very nice and clean..i have stayed at other resorts in Myrtle Beach with mixed problems with rooms and employees...this place was the best I have came across yet here...

Absolutely disgusting. Black mold around only working vent out of three vents. Noise of this place is unreal. They control the air temperature and it is not at all cool. The other two vent are turn off. The working vent is permanently aimed to ceiling. Their own maintenance man said we had to live with it and basically told us to get some money out of it???? Black mold is all up and down stairs. So upset with this dump. Oh and no outside pool. Duh?
Overall a good stay, rooms could have been cleaned a little more. The baseboards were dusty and on top of refrigerator was very dusty. The metal Bed rail broken on one of the beds and my wife cut her leg on it. It was just wedged in the wooden part of the frame. The vent in bathroom had mold on it. On a good note rooms were huge and spacious. The view from balcony was awesome and the staff was friendly.
Had numerous problems with the hotel this past trip.
Room was still dirty, windows not cleaned, hairs all in the bathrooms, floors was not mopped well and was extremely sticky.
A BIG note, I was staying on the top floor penthouse and during the rain, it started pouring in the room and had the floors soaked!!! I mean a ton of water! I slipped and fell down due to that and the half mopped floor which made it more slick when wet.. Had an employee come in to check it out and the fix was to place a fan down to make it dry faster, along with some towels.
Parking garage is now split between Bayview and South Bay so be sure to park on your side or you'll have a note on your window the next day, note the signs look a lot a like...
Very dirty and all rooms we got smelled very strongly of smoke. The dishwasher broke and the dryer broke twice. Our lights were busted and when we asked for maintenance it took forever to fix stuff. Workers were very rude to my children and not helpful at all. Very hard to enjoy our vacation when we dont have a clean or functional place to stay. Absolutly would not reccomend.
This place was a nightmare. Over priced for the very tiny, outdated & not well kept rooms. Had to wait 30mins to check in/ out because they don't have enough staff. There was no outdoor pool and the indoor pool was small and not well ventilated (chlorine smell was unbearable). There weren't enough elevators for this size hotel so we had to wait way too long to access them. There is no common area or place to even sit outside of your room or indoor pool area. We tried to get a refund after being there 30mins and it was denied. We only stayed one night and left a few days early because it was so bad. Definitely would NOT recommend!
Loved it so much last year, we came back again this year. The front desk has wonderful people working and they were very helpful on getting us the room we wanted.
I loved it. The room was clean. The view was great. Front desk associate was very helpful, especially since I was checking in at 3am! Very close to everything. I will definitely use this resort when I come back.
I have visited Bayview many times. While the lobby has been recently updated, they need to update their rooms. The popcorn ceiling was falling down and they didn't vacuum it up, the coffee pot was broke, the microwave was duck taped with black tape, the tub in one of the bedrooms; the bottom of it was cracked. Don't get me wrong it's in a great location and accessible (walking distance) to the Boardwalk, but there is a desperate need to update those rooms and furniture.
For the price this place is truly amazing! It's right up on the beach, within walking distance to the main strip, beach side there is even a walkway that leads straight up to the boardwalk area, and it is also a short drive from other attractions in the area such as Broadway on the Boardwalk where there is entertainment, shops, rides,a wide range of food options, & also some of the areas popular attractions! I would give 5 stars except some of the amenities need a little improvement. Our sleep room could have been cleaner, our air conditioning couldn't go below 67 I believe which only seemed to be a problem at night the bedroom always seemed to be warmer then the rest of the room, the kids splash pad area didn't work properly, some of the pieces didn't squirt any water, while some other pieces squirt but only a very little bit, and some did squirt ok, the lazy river part of the pool smelled musty like it needed to be cleaned/treated, and also one of the elevators were also out of service. However even with some of those issues I would still go back and o would still recommend them to a friend because their prices in comparison to other hotels near by are great and affordable I did feel like I was safe at this hotel, they do have a locked parking garage, overall it is more clean then not my bed, shower, & kitchen area did appear to be clean, and it is a beach side hotel with a huge convenience of it's location!!!
First off my visit didn't start off well. Had to wait for a room when I told it would be ready by 2. The supervisor Wanda has a very nasty attitude. As I was waiting for my room I noticed her behavior. Certain people she would have a room ready & others she would make wait. She whispered to the guest and say they owe her for getting a room so quickly. And tell them to do a good review in return. Also a guy lost the key to his room and his name wasn't on the list. She must've remembered his face and told him to call the friend. She talked to the guy & said he didn't have to come down with his ID. Gave the guy his key. Again she told them to do her a review from both of them. As I'm waiting Im seeing all of this. This Wanda lady is very slick & sneaky. I see how she became a supervisor. She faked & lied her way there. I can imagine what she does when she's alone. Probably rent out rooms & pocket the money. SMH. I would not be staying at this hotel again. I'm a member of Wyndham and will be reporting this as well to them.
I have stayed at Bayview almost every year since it opened. Always loved it because of the cleanliness, location, close to the boardwalk & between 2 piers. Pools don't matter to me because i go to the beach to sit on the beach, so i could care less about the pools or lazy river, but one would think that the pool would be large enough to accommodate the guests staying there. most times, you can't even walk through the pool area to get to the beach without getting tripped up by adults & unattended unruly rude kids. But this year i am extremely disappointed with Bayview. They need to shut the place down and do some serious deep cleaning. The tiled baseboard was filthy, corners of the floors, especially the bathroom, looked they haven't been swept for years!. Bathroom was really disgusting, the smell was sickening. Furniture is stained and worn and need replacing. Splatters on the walls looked like they've never been an attempt wipe them clean. Found trash behind the curtains and in the bedroom between the bed and wall. Refrigerator had a film on it and you could tell where it had been wiped off, or should i say lack of being wiped off. Balcony floor & walls were absolutely disgusting with bird poop everywhere. appears that housekeeping does just enough to get by and overlooks what needs to be done. I understand the volume of guests coming in the summer months but this is no excuse for rooms not getting a good cleaning. What a shame for a nice hotel such as Bayview to get run down. Lastly i had a new experience this year. 1st night i found a "bug" in the bathtub, brushed it off as a one time thing. next day i caught a glimpse of something on the wall in the bathroom, pulled towels back and there was another "bug". Knocked it down, killed it. Again, i though this happens. Later the same day, found another one crawling on the wall in the kitchen. i kept denying myself that there could be roaches, but in the 5 days, 4 nights i stayed i killed 12 roaches in my room. my husband mentioned it to a maintenance guy and he brushed it off and told him it wasn't roaches. My husband said i should take pictures for proof, but why the heck would i take a pic of something i disgust. what good would it have done, its not like they would refund my credit card. i just hope that i didn't bring any of the nasty things back to my home. i am not one to complain, but i paid for a clean place to stay, but clean is certainly not what i got. Sad to say this was my last time staying at Bayview. Sooooo disappointed!! A brand new hotel is going up right beside bayview and we were told it will be a major competition between bayview and the new place. i highly doubt there will be competition unless bayview gets their act together and clean up and update and do something about the awful traffic jam at their check in. guess i'll never know because i will not stay there again.
It looks great from out side... but the inside smells bad and rooms are dirty. Not comfortable at all. They gave me a room with a no view and I booked a month ahead to make sure I get a ocean view. They up graded me to a condo but the toilet was broken and disgusting. I have 2 more nights and I can t wait until it s over. Disappointed bc many recommend this hotel.
Was not happy with the service or room. I have been here two times before but this time changed the way we feel about. First off they said they had to refund money to my husband card but he never got it then there was mold in the bathroom. When we asked for them to clean the lady never did so the next day when house keeping came i asked her to clean and she got a attitude about it.
This was by far the worse weekend I've ever had. To check in on 8/17/18 to wake up next day with no running water, the main water line broke...things happen understandable. But dont take my money give me a full refund back. We brought food that we lost because we ended up staying at a hotel off the beach with only 2 beds no kitchen no fridge. Every place was booked. I will never stay at the Bayview ever in life again. The staff is horrible and the elevator service is ridiculous. If I could give no stars I would...smh!
Arrived n the room ddn have air for the first two hours.. they ddn seem at all concerned. Had to wait for maintenance.. Ddn get clean towels at all... call front desk about six in the afternoon for them to say the towels wasn t dry yet... saw a roach in the bathroom.. clean beds. Dirty balcony!! Convenient location.
Very nice place to stay! They have a lazy river, a pool, a bunch of stuff for kids and a nice hottub to relax in. They have a kiosk where you can rent movies for free! The room was nice and clean I'm definitely coming back next year
We only went to the Starbucks on site. Prices are high but to be expected for being near the beach in a tourist area. Workers were exceptionally nice and friendly. Area very clean too!
Nice hotel, clean, affordable in the off-season, great views, furniture was a little worn but serviceable. We reserved a three bedroom condo but actually got a two bedroom and a one bedroom that were connected via a hallway through separate locking doors. It was not exactly what we expected.
When we arrived it was a long line. Only one clerk working someone was in the back sitting at a desk came out helped one person then walked off. I asked could she help she acted as if I said something wrong. Then we checked in had no towels or wash cloths. Called the front desk they say oh we didn t know. We had no pots and pans the front desk said they didn t know. Finally brought towels and pots. Told them the remotes wasn t working we still didn t get that resolved. Told them the room wasn t properly cleaned because it has trash in corners and stains on the bed fresh stains. We paid resort fees but got no housekeeping we could ve left to get the room cleaned. The customer service was horrible I got pictures as well.
Wasted vacation trip. Found bedbug on my pillow the next morning. It had dined on me twice during the night. Checked out the same morning. Fourth of July holiday weekend ruined.
Resort was nice except for a few negatives. The parking garage is located on next street and I didnt feel safe going by myself. The other is in swimming pool area there is no supervision from hotel as there was children running wild in there. Lazy river the sign says must be on a float, there was 15 kids in there just swimming around and jumping in lazy river. No parents, no hotel staff supervision.
Room service is very inconsistent. TV and DVD player didn't work and thermastat wasn't working properly and we were told by maintenance to just open the balcony door instead of them fixing it
Been here many times!! During the summer it gets super packed (as does everywhere else) but the service was pretty good. We had an Ocean Front condo the last two times we went and LOVED IT!! Beautiful view of both the city and ocean.
Rented a two bedroom oceanfront. As soon as I walked in, it smelled slightly like rotten potato peels. The carpet had stains, and the furniture was in pretty rough shape. The view from balcony was excellent, but I would not stay here again due to the lack of cleanliness and unkempt and outdated room. There was a French fry left on the floor that was there when we walked in. We found a comb (from a previous guest) that was on the floor beside the bed. Also found hair in the sink and in the shower. I m just glad that I paid off season pricing. Next time I ll spend another $40 or so and go somewhere else. I should have listened to the other critical reviews but I try to be open minded and assume that maybe the critical reviewer just had an unusually bad experience. Live and learn, I guess.
In defense of the resort, they called immediately upon this posting and attempted to move us to another room to make things right. There is much to be said for management that will make immediate contact like that. I did turn down the offer to move to another room because my wife already had laundry in and we didn t feel it would be worth the effort to make the change.
If you're looking for a very nice resort to take your family on the beach, this is not the place. When we arrived, the room was dirty. The floors hadn't been vacuumed, but even worse, the bathroom hadn't been cleaned. The toilet had hair on it and urine on the seat. The bathroom faucet dripped our entire stay. The carpet on the floor was pulled away from the wall and bubbled up throughout the room. We stayed for 2 nights and I really don't think the maid did anything but make the beds, because the hair remained on the back of the toilet and dirt on the floors. The hallways were covered in dirt. The room was advertised as Ocean View... but by that, what they meant was that if you went on the miniature balcony (room for 2 plastic chairs, no more - 2 people could stand there and look around, but forget enjoying time there) you could sort of see the ocean if you looked around the corner. The layout of the room was bad and it felt like it hadn't been updated since the 70s. The TV was very small. We felt like we paid quite a bit of money ($200+ per night) for a resort experience, but got what was less than a cheap roadside chain motel experience. We feel like they falsely advertised this property and the rooms both and that we wasted a lot of money on an extremely subpar experience. We've stayed at Ritz Carlton's and we've stayed at La Quinta's. This was barely up to the level of La Quinta. In fact most of those cheap $69 a night hotels were cleaner and better maintained. Totally disgusted with how this place markets itself versus what you actually get.
Beautiful Ocean beachfront views. I saw the sun rise and set!! Great friendly staff. Clean comfy rooms. Great food! The grilled Salmon w/grilled vegetables! Happy hour cocktail specials everyday! Very laid back atmosphere.
Location is great only 3 blocks (give or take) from a big chunk of amenities. The rooms are really nice and come in different sizes to help better suit your needs or budget. Service is great and very friendly.
For the most part this was a great resort. Checking was the pits staff didn t seem to know what to do. We were a large party of 30. Elevators were awful. 19 floors long wait to get on elevator. Loading and unloading not large enough and the guy sitting outside just sat there and didn t direct the guests. Housekeeping was awful they just dropped towels off no cleaning was done and when you ask for something they knock one time and waltz right in not knowing if we were dressed or not. But the location is great and the hotel itself was nice. The lady at check out was awesome best attitude and friendly
Me and my Mom stayed there Labor Day 2012 was tpld we was getting a ocean view it was so the corner view facing the streets , old tv, corner balcony paid over $400 front desk was not so nice, if i decide to stay again i hope to get ocean view instead of corner view, view was a dump hotel! SMH I WOULD LOVE TO GET FREE WEEKEND! WORTH $400, $199 WORTH A RIDE FROM THE PARKING LIT WAS THE MOST APPRECIATE THING!
Me and my family had a wonderful time at Bayview the room was nice we had a oceanfront condo it was beautiful love the pool the people were great family kingdom and all the attractions were wonderful we definitely will come back again... one suggestion get the oceanfront rooms not the front of the hotel it's a little different if you in the front
Great location room fully equipped with washer dryer stope coffe pot toaster microwave and fridge. Only thing I don't like is the parking lot is a block away and the $100 security deposit.
Considering we are in a pandemic you would think the hotel put a little more effort into making sure the rooms were clean! But I don t get paid to think I switched 3 rooms in 2 days and all of them were dirty! The front desk people were friendly but other staff looked as if they didn t want to be there! Some even argued with guests! I was definitely not pleased with my stay!
Great location, slightly dated rooms, pillows are just horrendous. They are the thickest, least ergonomic monster pillows I've ever had the displeasure of not using.. Seriously, after first night's attempt it was better to just skip the pillow all together. They are a neck ache waiting to happen.
Lack of breakfast is a downer but not a big deal, the pool is tiny, so is the lazy river.
View from our hotel room was excellent. Overall it was a pretty decent experience. I seriously had to deduct a star for the pillows. They are just that bad. (apparently they are new too, wonder who made that horrible call)
Condo was really nice and the price was reasonable. Can't beat the location. Staff if very friendly. Only complaint I have is the elevators are horribly slow.
Well truthfully I haven't stayed there however we did have a intrical part of building Southview which is right next to it. If it's anything like it and customer service and architecture I think you will enjoy yourself. And it might even be a little more inexpensive for you as well and it's right on the ocean in the middle of Myrtle Beach? Brittain properties have always been very good pics for me and my family
This stay was very disappointing. I have stayed here several times in the past years but this will be our LAST! If we could've found somewhere else and gotten our money back without a haggle we would've left. The room is outdated, dusty, dirty and full of unwanted bugs. They have let this property go down. As soon as we got off the elevator the hallway smelled like marijuana. There was loud music all night. This turned out to be the worst vacation for us. Not to mention housekeeping doesn't clean but they will drop off towels. When I told the housekeeper there's a bug in our bed and asked for new linen she asked why. Geesh! Never again will we stay here.
Location was great, we stayed here before and loved it, so decided to come again to celebrate our 25th Anniversary, but this time our room wasn t as clean, we saw some bugs and our second night the ac unit got stuck on heat and it was almost 90 degrees. The night supervisor that came to our room was ruid, but the office staff was kind enough to put us in another room and upgrade us, but it was very inconvenient to pack up at 10 pm. and move to another room.
Recently stayed here for a 3 night stay on the 14th floor and I can say I was very pleased. I was very pleased with how close this hotel was to the downtown "strip" area and the boardwalk. Didn't really have any issues with the elevators or parking garage, although one day one elevator was down and another being cleaned so we had to wait for a few minutes for the one elevator, but other than that things seemed to run smoothly. I was a little upset that there is no outdoor pool and only one jacuzzi, but being an off season time they were okay. Also it seemed that at check in there were only 1 or 2 people working the desk so it was a little congested. I really enjoyed staying here and will more than likely stay here again in the future.
Great location. Friendly and helpful staff. Only downside is the fact that the indoor pool is located right by the entrance of the hotel, so a strong smell of chlorine hits you as you step through the door.
Nobody informed us AT ALL until check in that this property does not rent to locals. Although I am aware many hotels have adopted this policy, we could've been notified since our home address was entered indicating we live in Conway. The desk clerk on duty at check in was very nice & tried to make an exception since we are not kids. We're 47 & 52 years old and were not bringing teens or kids along. This was just supposed to be a little escape from the everyday hum drum & to enjoy the Superbowl at the beach. On top of all that aggravation it took 3 days for the refund to be credited back to my debit card causing us to be a little short on cash. We did tho find a nice little motel across Ocean Blvd, The Atlantic, which we found to be very nice & relaxing with a very accommodating, friendly staff!
many of the rooms are owned and the owners choose to put into rental. We had checked in, unpacked and were in middle of watching a movie when the front desk called on my cell phone (not room phone so I didn't hear the call for about an hour) and we were told the owners were coming and we had to pack up and move to another room where the refrigerator door did not stay shut (had to prop luggage up against it to keep it closed) and the bathroom had mold. Will NEVER stay there again and do not recommend it to anyone,
We loved our view from the room, but the resort was definitely on the "value" end of places. If you want a cheap ocean front room without the luxury part, this is the place. Beds were ok, there was damaged walls and light fixtures. The pools were small. Our stay was at the end of October and we could not use the pool or hottub because of they were so full. I was very disappointed with the lack of security, everywhere we went all we could smell was marijuana. Not what I want my small children exposed to.
Their address is 501 Flagg St. We searched for 504 N Ocean Blvd for half an hour. It is very frustrating that their address is listed incorrectly everywhere. We finally called to ask where they were located.
I did have this resort marked at five stars up until our last day there yesterday. There was a huge water leak, and I know that was not anyones fault..but the way the staff was treating the guests during this was uncalled for!! Having a staff member yell at my mom and I add we where trying to pack our cars to leave was not okay. They rushed us to move our vehicles when we has to carry all of our things down the steps. Carrying luggage for eight people down steps is quit time consuming, and to be yelled at for us not being able to move our cars fast enough was obserd! Maybe staff should learn how to treat their guests a little better!!
