I followed Dr. Anderson from her old practice because of her care and interest in her patients. Her staff are wonderful. They are thorough, helpful and welcoming. Dr. Anderson takes time with every patient to connect and you never feel rushed or like just another patient. Even my grown children who have moved out of state continue care with her!

I absolutely hate going to the dentist!!! We are new to Madison so I needed to get established with new dentist. I could not have been more impressed with the friendliness of ALL the staff, the cleanliness and modern equipment and the individualized personal care that I received!!. I would not hesitate to recommend Artisan dental to all of my friends and family!

Best dental team ever! The office beautiful and full of calming details. The Dr.'s always take the time to explain every bit of information about my care, do fast and excellent work, and are just generally kind. All of the other staff who work there, from the front desk to the technicians, are super friendly and great at their jobs too. Highly recommend!

I love going to Artisan Dental! Everyone is so kind and makes me feel good about being there. They understand my concerns and make sure I know all of my options for treatment. Hands down my favorite dentist practice ever. This place has the details down. They have a beautiful building, the most interesting coffee tables books, calming music while you get your teeth done and give you sunglasses to shield your eyes from the light. Everyone is consistently friendly and eager to help. I had a large amount of dental work performed this past week and Dr. Merick and Jonlyn were fantastic. Dr. Merick again reviewed the several teeth I needed work on and she made sure I understood my options. She has a great attention to detail and I'm super happy with the results.

I really enjoyed my experience at Artisan. The clinic is super modern and clean, and the view and tranquil music playing in the background put me at ease. The reception staff is excellent and super nice. The technician I worked with was great, very knowledgable, friendly, and didn't guilt trip me for not going to a dentist in a few years. The doctor was friendly and welcoming. I would like to compliment the tech and the doctor's light hands. that may sound strange but I have walked out of the dentist with a sore jaw and feeling roughed up. A welcomed change. The receptionist also checked me out and scheduled my next appointment, answered my questions about insurance. Overall I'm not a patient with a lot of dental issues. I also don't usually comment on my experiences good or bad, but I was blown away with how I was treated. What a great place!

If you haven t had cavities since being a kid, take good care of your teeth, and haven t had any issues recently, yet you are told you have several cavities that need fillings, pause for a second and consider getting a second opinion. I just have anecdotal evidence based on my experience and a couple of friends experiences, but it appears that Artisan Dental may be a bit aggressive in their treatment of cavities. I wish I had read the reviews here prior to my experience, as the one and two star reviews seem to have a theme.
Getting cavities filled is not a pleasant experience, costs money, and can create inconveniences after the fact (for example, pain while chewing or floss getting stuck between your molars where a filling was placed). I would much rather know how necessary the fillings are, or how bad the cavities are, and then make an informed decision from there on whether I wish to pursue fillings. I know that recommendations by dentists can be subjective, but I think that another dentist would not have advised fillings for me and would have just told me that they would keep an eye on the spot. I took my x-rays to another dentist and based on the x-rays alone, he would not have advised fillings. However, he did have a disclaimer that he would have needed to examine the teeth (prior to the fillings be placed) because sometimes you can catch things in an exam that the x-rays don t pick up on.
I have had very good experiences at Artisan Dental with cleanings in the past, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is pleasant. However, I felt it s important to advice others a word of caution after my recent experience with cavities being filled.

I have waited months to post a review of my experience because I wanted to be fair and level-headed, but a year post cavity filling I think I am being both of those things. I am genetically prone to cavities and have unfortunately had my fair share, but never with ANY issue from a previous dentist in the state I lived in previously. I wish I would have headed the reviews of previous patients who had issues after a filling. I had a cavity filled at Artisan in March of last year. It was left too high even after I expressed that the teeth on the other side of my mouth weren't touching and was told "it's just the anesthesia." Over the course of almost 6 months I went back to have the filling adjusted at least 4-5 times, at one point it was every two weeks, if not more. It was never right and it caused me so much pain and frustration. After having so many issues my pain escalated and I called the emergency line -- no answer, no return call for over 24 hours. On my way to the ER because I was in so much pain and couldn't get a response from the dentist, I desperately searched for other dentists in the area and the one I thought looked good called me back and had me scheduled for an appointment immediately (and offered to come in on a Saturday morning to see me) even though I'd never been a patient. If I can get that service from another area dentist, I should have had it with my current dentist who had just seen me two days beforehand and told me to call if anything escalated before she saw me again the following week for yet another adjustment. After two second opinions, both agreed that I had a cracked tooth and needed a root canal. I had zero issues with tooth pain before this filling and I have never needed a root canal. I cannot prove that their inadequacy in filling and adjusting this filling caused either, but I feel confident that before I went in I had no issues and after I have struggled for a year with trying to get my mouth health back on the right track and where it was before I let them drill into my tooth.

The facility is beautiful and the staff are friendly, but I have spent a year fighting mouth pain and issues I've never before had after one filling here. I cannot explain the frustration and helplessness of having something done to your body that takes a year to fully resolve and includes additional treatments and bills. I've spent most of my adult life trying to go above and beyond to care for my teeth that just have the cards stacked against them and to be set back and in consistent pain is something I wouldn't wish on anyone.

Excellent care! Very professional and friendly staff. I couldn't rate them more highly.
And since the pandemic began, they have invested in even more equipment to keep patients and staff safe and healthy and to keep their rooms and equipment as sterile and infection-free as possible - air purifiers, UV cleaning equipment - there's a long list of the precautions they have taken. I feel very safe going there.

I had a very enjoyable experience with Artisan Dental today. I showed up on time for my appointment and they didn't keep me waiting. The facility is very clean, the staff very professional and friendly. They answered all of my questions and made me feel comfortable.

I loved my first visit to the dentist at Artisan Dental! First, the staff was very helpful over the phone to assist with scheduling and extremely courteous when I arrived to my appointment. I completed the forms online and they sent me several reminders of my appointment and also instructions on parking. I didn't have to wait long until I was seen and Destiny was the most gentle, understanding and patient hygienist I've ever met. I have always hesitated to go to the dentist, but with the experience I had today at Artisan Dental I feel more comfortable and actually, a little bit looking forward to the next visit. I was kept informed throughout the appointment about procedures! I highly recommend this place! Excelled in customer service, staff was nice and knowledgeable! it was a great experience!

Excellent facility! Incredibly clean and relaxing. Feels much more like a spa than a dentist office -- soothing music and ceiling to floor windows with lots of natural light. All staff members were nice, helpful, calm and professional. As someone who often "fears" the dentist, I've had excellent service and would highly recommend Dr. Meirick!

Really pleasant staff and a great downtown location. Parking is available on the ground floor or on the side streets. All the staff I encountered were really kind and talked me through everything so I could understand. The space is very warm and friendly and has some great views.

If you are looking for a very professional place with the nicest staff this should be your dentist.

Made going to the dentist an enjoyable experience! Everyone is very nice. The dental hygienist, Kayla, was very smart and took the time to listen to my concerns and tell me what she was seeing. Great atmosphere helps as well.

I am a new patient to Artisan and had Dr. Meirck and Mackenize. They and the whole staff are very welcoming and friendly. They made going to the dentist a whole lot more relaxing then it normally is.

Service was great - worry about costs.
I went in for a check-up/cleaning as a new patient the other day - everyone was super nice - particularly my hygienist Rebecca (who went to ridiculous lengths to make sure I was comfortable). They decided I had some bad plaque build up below the gumline and thus needed a special cleaning - which was pretty costly - which would be split over two sessions. Rebecca again was fantastic and worked through her lunch break so that I could get it all done in one day. But the cleaning was just like every other dental cleaning I've ever had (albeit more thorough - it took around 2 hours total). Breaking off the plaque with little dental hooks and a water pik. So the cost of it feels a little exorbitant - which makes me think Artisan might be out of my price range in the long-run. Though the dental health plans they offer do help ameliorate the costs somewhat. Great level of care though, and the facilities/people are super nice.

I LOVE Artisan Dental. I was new to the area and did a Google search on best rated providers, and this one came up top notch. I haven't been disappointed for any of my appointments. Everyone is very friendly and listens to your needs/concerns. The providers have a gentle and effective touch, and the screens over the chairs provide relaxing scenery to take your mind off of being at the dentist. The technology they use is very advanced compared to my last dentist. Payments are manageable depending on your insurance, and if you don't have any they can work with that too. I'm sure other dental providers are great, but I wouldn't go anywhere else!

Second appointment at Artisan. Awesome, just like the first time. Love this place -- they know what they're doing, and they don't waste time.

The doctor and dental hygienist were very nice. The staff was pretentious and unhelpful. Clearly this office thinks very highly of their "artisan" image and very little for actually servicing the needs, circumstances and well being of their clients. The visit started off with the receptionist giving me attitude about having to look up my insurance group number. Then after the check up they refused to do a regular cleaning when my insurance would not cover the deep cleaning procedure I needed due to a required waiting period. They expected me to pay out of pocket for the deep cleaning and refused to give me the cleaning I am covered for in the interim.

Basically they would rather leave me without any sort of preventative procedure for almost a year than miss out on nearly $1k from my pocket. When I asked for my records to take them to another dentist who would actually work with me, I received short, snide responses to my requests. All pretense at politeness was gone when the dollar signs walked out the door.

I called this morning because I chipped a tooth over the weekend. They were able to get me in right away (literally 40 minutes after I called!)

Dental Assistant Jonlyn was quick with her assessment, and super personable. She brought Dr. Dayal in to shave down and polish the tooth, and I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. I couldn't believe it. I even made it to work on time.

Lindsay always does a wonderful job cleaning my teeth! I have sensitive teeth and she continually makes sure I am comfortable during my cleaning. She answers any questions I have and gives me her honest opinion. Dr. Anderson always explains her findings to me, what they mean, and what the plan is to tackle any problems. Artisan has such wonderful staff. I enjoy my visits and when I leave I feel confident that my dental health is in good hands!

Honestly was the most thorough, careful, and informative dentist visit I've been to so far. Very impressed.

I've only been to Artisan twice and I love it already. Beautiful place and their waiting area is very calming, natural sunlight comes through, great selections of books for you to read too. They're very informational, they always ask if I have any questions which I usually don't because they've already answered it for me and If I do, they have the answers for me. The first time I was there, I didn't feel judged because it beens YEARS since I've seen a dentist. They were confident on how to get my teeth and gums looking better than it does now(and they're not so good at the moment). Second visit was for deep cleaning and I was a bit afriad of pain but she assured me that the numbing won't make me feel a thing(which is true). Told me the process and every step she was going to take as in the numbing(telling me I will feel a pinch) and the going in(deep cleaning). I look forward to more dental visits! My visit was to replace a filling that was old and cracked. I was greeted promptly and had a very short wait for my appointment. The whole procedure took less than 30 minutes. I was very happy with the treatment I received.

Dr. Nicole Andersen and her staff have created a wonderful practice. They are warm and caring and genuinely care about their patients' overall health and well-being. The space is gorgeous, but more importantly, Dr. Andersen is a true professional who has taken great care of my teeth over the years. Highly recommend!

They recommended I get 3 drilling s I did not need a year ago. Just got my new X-rays a year later somewhere else and still no cavities. I m confident these people lie about cavities to make more money. There are other reviews describing similar experiences. They will likely reply that they only recommend what is in the patients best interest. That is also a lie. Don t let the spa vibes fool you.

Artisan is a great dental office. The staff a friendly and helpful. The service is on time and they take care of you quickly. The quality of care is excellent. And, the office is beautiful.

Best dentist ever! I moved about 1.5 hours away and I still think I'm going to keep coming back! They're friendly, affordable, and they know what they're doing!

First off, this place looked like a flippin' spa. Very nice atmosphere. Second, all the staff was very friendly. The experience was 10 times better than my experience with forward dental east. Keep up the good work and your excellent people skills!

Had a great experience here! The office is modern, looks pleasant, and the staff is great. They explained everything they did before they did it and in general seemed to care about me. They do also have a fancy "panorama" teeth xray machine that I hadn't seen before.

Don't have much to share that others haven't said. Point is, I really dislike the dentist, never have had a good experience. These ladies were hands down the best I've ever had in all aspects. Would highly recommend this to everyone.

I have "left over" fears of dentists and dental work from childhood - yes I am from that generation! Today's experience at Artisan was an antidote
to that left over trauma. Everyone was responsive to my needs and efficient in a way that keep me relaxed. So pleased I am in their hands.

Comfortable environment. Friendly and professional staff. Thorough. Dental plan is a lifesaver. I was going to cancel my checkup until my CareCredit bill from my fillings was paid off. So pleased that there would be no bill for my checkup and I kept the appointment. My only problem is with signage in the building. When you leave the elevator, there's nothing to lead you to the office unless you turn to look at the door. Put a sign on that big, bare wall across from the elevator with the business name and an arrow. Same in parking garage. The only signage is directly on the building door which you can't see when you're driving. Put a sign above the door perpendicular to the entrance to lead people there. No one should have to hunt and look for doors to find where they're going.

Dr. Andersen, Jonlyn, and all the staff are not only kind and supportive, they are very skilled and work very hard to ensure the best possible outcome.

Artisan Dental was recommended to me by a friend after I had a not-so-pleasant experience at another dentists office in Madison. In addition to having a lovely, calming office and fantastic staff, my gums didn't hurt when I left (they are ALWAYS sore for days after the dentist), and the hygienist and the dentist were very responsive to my sensitivities and needs. I also needed a replacement mouth guard, and they were very helpful in explaining reimbursements and payment options to go forward with this.

Fantastic customer service. State of the art equipment. They walk you through what you will be paying before you make the next appointment. Highly recommended!

I just joined as a new customer upon the recommendation of a friend. I was extremely satisfied with my first visit to Artisan. They have excellent service, a friendly and professional staff, and state-of-the-art facilities. Plus, they are environmentally conscious, even going above and beyond by collecting items that can't be recycled in your normal bin. It's great when businesses strive to make an impact in the community.

Fantastic dental team! They provide comfortable cleanings and care. I had a TMJ issue and they hooked me up with a mouth guard that fixed my issue! They also worked with my insurance to make sure it got covered!!

Dr. Anderson and her staff are truly exceptional -- warm, friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Making appointments is easy and the whole practice is paperless, which makes everything run so much more smoothly. Always have a wonderful experience at Artisan. I had not been to the dentist for several years and chose Artisan based on proximity to my house. To my delight, not only were they friendly and professional, they made me feel at ease and never judged about my dental history.

Bad cleanings - the hygienist spent a few minutes scraping and called it a day. I've never had such a bad cleaning before, and I left the office shocked, like "was that really a cleaning?" I didn't want to make a scene by mentioning it, since everyone was so nice there, and the dentists were really polite. Maybe the hygienists are just so overworked that they cut corners? Regardless, it was definitely the worst cleaning I've every had, and I'll be switching to a different dental group next year.

I am so grateful to be on the receiving end of such gifted, professional, and dedicated staff. Each time I go, a different dentist does my work. They are all excellent. Today it was Dr. Dayal and she is also top notch.

Best dental experience I've ever had! The entire team was so friendly and inviting. I'm not one who usually enjoys the dentist, often because I feel like I'm always lectured about something I'm doing wrong. Artisan Dental was the complete opposite! Everyone makes sure you feel comfortable and understand what they're doing each step of the way. On top of that, they were so encouraging and empathetic. 10/10 recommend!!

My 3 year old has had two wonderful visits at Artisan Dental. Staff are kind and patient. They also educate her on the cleaning tools so that she feels comfortable.

Large, open rooms made me so much more comfortable than a cramped dentist office like most I've been in. The staff were professional, knowledgeable, and clear in what the plan would be going forward. A great first visit! I loved the private room for discussing financial matters!

So this is my first review and the reason being is I am a person that usually doesn't go out of his way to voice my opinion. With that being said that should tell you how upset I am with my experience.

I first showed up to Artisan Dental in November of 2015 when I moved here from Florida. I scheduled a cleaning. While there they told me I have a cavity on my second back molar. So I schedule a appointment to have the filling for the cavity done in mid December with Dr. Andersen as I thought she seemed like a nice dentist and her reviews were good.

A week after the cavity was done, I still wasn't able to chew on the side that the filling was done on, and if anything that was mildly cold would make tear up. I then decided probably something was wrong and I needed to go back in. At the beginning of January I had a follow up appointment. Dr Andersen took new X-rays to see what the possible problems could be. You could see in the X-rays that she had possibly aggravated the nerve root while performing the filling (I work in the medical field and review films on a regular basis, by no means am I a doctor but it was evident she hit the nerve). Instead of taking drastic measures she wanted to desensitize the tooth and see if that helped the symptoms. I agreed that was fine.

The symptoms never got better instead worsen. I was beginning not to be able to eat any room temperature food and water from the kitchen sink would lead to extreme pain. Finally late January I came back in unable to sleep and function regularly. Dr Andersen said that the only remedy would be a root canal. She gave me some pain medication to help with the pain until my root canal the following week. After that appointment is when everything went from bad to hell.

The following night, I wasn't able to function without a ice cube in my mouth. If the ice cube dissolved I would start to tear up and the pain was excruciating. I called Dr Andersen emergency line around 5 pm and left a voicemail describing the situation and need of help. Never received a phone call for the entire night. I broke into chills followed by a 104 fever. The fever broke the following morning. Artisan Dental did call the root call specialist that morning and I was able to get into the office that afternoon for a emergency root canal. Capital Endo who performed the root canal said that last night I was experiencing the nerve root dying and infection setting in. No Lie this was one of the worse nights of my life.

Last week I canceled my basic cleaning with Artisan Dental and told them the story I have written above. They said they were sorry of my decision not to come in. The reason I am writing all of this is still to this day I never received a apology from Dr Andersen. I am truly in aw of the unprofessionalism that was given to my situation. This small cavity has now gone from a filling, to a root canal, to another filling, and in the future a crown. All said and done it will cost is a small fortune. I just couldn't believe the lack of remorse thus leading to this review. I can only hope this does't happen to someone else.
