A very disappointing experience last night. Out of seven people who ordered steak, maybe two got theirs cooked as ordered. We're not picky people but gosh, you shouldn't have to struggle like this at Angus Barn! My prime rib was overdone, my wife's filet underdone. My fathers t-bone was sent back to the kitchen twice when he just gave up. The manager didn't charge for his entree because of the obvious mess. We were given two complimentary desserts and a mini pound cake to compensate, but that's not what we came there wanting. For a evening that was meant to celebrate a retirement and birthdays, we didn't leave with good memories.

Always impressive place to go have dinner or grab a couple drinks.

just a little secret about Angus Barn they have a upstairs section called the meat locker. Which used to be an actual meat locker . You can smoke cigars in a covered patio area upstairs, enjoying a nice drink, or sharing a meal on the patio with somebody.

What has happened to the Angus Barn? Let me start by giving a positive comment. Our waiter was fantastic. Wish I could remember his name as he was friendly and attentive to our entire party of 10. Excellent service. On the other hand, the steaks were terrible. Although they were cooked as requested they had absolutely no flavor. Half of party made similar comments on their meals. A big disappointment. Will be a long time if ever before I return.

Dinner here as part of a company function. Even though there were close to 60 people, everyone was served at the same time. Wait staff was excellent. Food came out hot and perfectly prepared. Angus Barn is known for there steaks (mine was served rare and delicious) but was also served salmon on a combo plate - it was also delicious.

I've been coming here for years. I keep coming for the tradition, the Christmas decorations and the Meat Locker cigar lounge. The steaks can be inconsistent and the service is slow and draws out a meal into a long affair.

The Meat Locker is an amazing place to sit back after a large meal and smoke a great cigar. As the host takes you to the lounge it is almost like taking a tour. Make sure to ask about the wine cellar. While smoking I noticed what looked like chicken wings on steroids, to my surprise they where the best tasting turkey wings. I came back several times while I was in Raleigh and I suggest that you go there too. P.S. Don't forget your Lucky Apple on the way out.

This place was all that and a huge pound cake!!! We came from California, based on the 16 oz Lobster. It was AMAZING!! The greet team, the servers, Appetizers, salad and Entrees! I will be back for this one for many years to come! Thank You!

We went here with several friends for a celebratory dinner and had a blast, but the food was at best disappointing.

The decor and atmosphere are over the top, which makes the restaurant fun. Service was slow but totally adequate.

Our steaks were very weak. They came out with wildly inconsistent doneness. One that was sent back returned to the table with a wedge cut from it where the cook was checking the temperature, which I have never seen in any restaurant, let alone a steak house. All of the food was under-seasoned.

For the price and given the reputation, I was totally underwhelmed and would not pay for a meal at Angus Barn again. While the place is legendary in the area, there are tens of other restaurants I would choose for a special occasion that are more worth the price.

Amazing experience to say the very least. It was my first time going and I was just blown away. The service and staff were incredible. Everyone was so friendly. We had a tour of the angus barn with Jen who was great. Our waitress Kendra was wonderful. The food was delicious, I had the filet mignon with stuffed mashed potatoes and French onion. For dessert I had the chess pie which was by far one of the best desserts I ve ever had! am definitely going to start this as a tradition of going to the Angus Barn for the holidays :)

This is my favorite place for steak in the area. You must come hungry because all the food that comes to you is excellent and not worth missing. I go there for many special occasions and I wish to go there for even more!

I went to the Angus Barn to celebrate an anniversary dinner and it was absolutely beautiful. All of the Christmas decorations were still up and I was in awe. When it came to dinner, my water glass was always full, food came out in good time, and my server Greg W was on top of everything!!! The only thing that was not up to par was my steak. I asked for medium rare and it definitely came out on the medium side. I didn't want to be a bother but I did mention it to Greg just to let him know to tell the cooks (mind you I had already eaten half of it because it still tasted good). I really just thought he would let them know in the back but NOOO..he went above and beyond!!!! He took the steak off of the bill AND included a free dessert. I honestly just thought that was the nicest thing. He was professional and when I go back, I am absolutely going to ask for him!! He's been there for 3.5 years so he knows what he's doing and it shows. If you want a meal to go flawlessly, ask for Greg W!

I m generally not one to leave reviews but I wanted to share about my experience at the Angus Barn last night. My wife and I had a 7PM reservation and arrived early with the intent to enjoy an adult beverage or two in the upstairs bar. It was comfortable and quiet so we decided to stay and have dinner there. Our servers, Deb and Cameron provided exemplary service. I m not sure how it s possible to be super attentive without being overbearing but they pulled it off without a hitch. The food, as always, was first rate. But the kicker early in the evening my granddaughter called to wish me a happy birthday. Deb and Cameron heard, happy birthday grandpa! and made a mental note. As we prepared to leave I was presented with a cake to take home to celebrate my birthday. It s the little things that make a big difference. Angus Barn never disappoints, and Deb and Cameron put an exclamation point on the evening.

Its kind of like a fancy cracker barrel except the food us amazing. Oh and the venue you can rent out for parties is amazing. The employees are incredibly great with kids and go out of their way to make sure you are happy!

This is now my favorite place to eat since 518 was permanently closed. I love everything about the Angus Barn. You can be dressy and classy or comfortable and casual. The staff is very welcoming and warm. The mangers check on you and the wait staff is exceptional. Even after a mishap it was made up to me in a major way. They do very well to please you while enjoying a delicious meal. Triangle old new and timeless classic.

Angus Barn is the ultimate southern steakhouse experience. The food is great, the atmosphere is unlike anything else you'll find in Raleigh. The food is delicious and the desserts especially are a perfect way to end your meal. I really enjoyed this place.

Food was good not exceptional service was the same good but have had better service at places like Denny's, it wasn't bad just wasn't exceptional like I expected from the other reviews... my brother and his wife went exactly a week before we did and he said he would return just because the service was exceptional... we had the chateaubriand for 2 it was good but it is also 80 bucks and was lacking the wow factor i would expect at that price point once again it wasn't bad I just expected more but the bearnaise sauce that comes with it was really good... and the chocolate chess pie is off the charts amazing.

The food was delicious!!! And there's so much of it. Little appetizers to start (olives, pickle, crackers and cheese). We ordered one bowl of French onion soup to share. The main course is one of their meats + 2 sides. We ate the salad and by the time the meat arrived we were full. And there was enough meat for 4 people in each of our meals. My suggestion is, order one dish to share.
I had the beef ribs and they were huge and juicy and amazing. Went with the red wine jus and do not regret it at all.
Would go back for the meat (sides were meh) and def sharing next time.

More steak than you can shake a stick at. Our servers were very attentive without it coming across as forced. I don't eat a lot of steak so I can't honestly say theirs is the best, but the service and ambience is top-notch. Parking was a bit confusing though.

Hot appetizers at function were okay. The cheese is fabulous but the heated food in trays didn't stay warm for long. The meatballs had no real flavor. There was some kind of seafood stuffed mushrooms but nothing really delicious. Must admit: just not impressed and I am sure the host paid a pretty penny.

Salad starter and all side dishes was great. Through main reason to arrive - the meat wasnt rememberable. Bone parts where, but most of the tomahawk wasn't something to write home about.

1st time visiting, despite driving by it for 25 years. Always thought...too expensive for me. However, this time it was my moms birthday...no excuses. I scheduled a reservation online without any difficulty. We arrived on time. Parking looked like it may be an issue, but was blessed by the parking gods with a front row opening. But Angus Barn is setup with lots of parking for busy days and nights. We were seated quickly with option of sitting in the larger area that was somewhat like a semi formal dress Viking / 19th century frontier long table large party gathering banquet or off to a side room at a personal private table. We chose option #2. Although we did run into a longtime friend that was in the larger room with about 20 of his coworkers having a business dinner. The wine list went for ever! With bottles ranging from $8,000 to $20, they had available wine for all tastes. I selected the BONE-IN TOMAHAWK RIB-EYE for $96! And shared it with another. The price is actually great for two. It s not just for the 42 ounce beef! But also came with a salad or soup for both myself and the other person I shared it with and another side which for me was a twice baked potato. prior to the meal came an assortment of olives and cheeses. The waiter was very accommodating. Not in your face, but always magically appeared when needed. Lastly, since it was a birthday celebration, Angus Barn went out of it s way to bring a cake to my mother. I definitely recommend going and to not wait as long as I did to visit. All said and done, the price was right for what Angus Barn delivered on.

For the Great food, For the Great Experience and people, you can't beat the Angus barn in Raleigh! I have been coming here for many years, & always look forward to it. This picture is from the "little barn" area. From the people that clearly really know their job (and care!) to the consistently delicious food, we go whenever we can.

Great food and service. Only detractor was overly loud large group of 20-30 diners seated behind us who were too loud for such a dining area. It was annoying and took away from a otherwise lovely evening of food, libations, and time with friends. Won't let them seat me is such a manner again.

The food is not as good as it once was. To be clear, a $40 ribeye should not need any steak sauce to add flavor. The first ribeye I ordered came out medium after I ordered a rare. Normally I would eat the steak without saying anything, but again this is a $40 steak.

Along with the bad food came the bad service. I get that a party of 10 normally takes a little bit longer. With that in mind, i still have no idea how it took us an hour and a half to get our dinner out. With large parties they do include the 20% gratuity on the check, which obviously our waiter was aware of.

All that said, I gave this 2 stars as this really is a unique atmosphere. This is what you are paying for. There is no place like it. If you go to have a couple drinks and enjoy the scenery and beautiful facility, you can't go wrong. I encourage you to try to visit "the meat locker" if you have never been to that part of the restaurant. I have had food in the past that was incredible. It just doesn't hit the bar it once had.

The steak was fantastic, as was the service. Took our daughter there for her birthday, everything was great. Highly recommend reservations, we did make one and was glad we did. Everything was perfect from the atmosphere to the service, and of course the food was the star of the night. I cannot think of anything I would change or improve. The price is a little high, but we'll worth the price. If you haven't been, you must put out on you list of places to go.

Went to Angus Barn for NYE dinner with my wife. We used to be excited when going to AB, but won t go again for quite sometime now as this time it was quality wise really the lowest. There s been a downward trend over the last 4 times we ve been and it is sad to see.
The steak had zero flavor and was not cooked to order. It was undercooked and sides were cold.
Service was ok, but extremely rushed due to the amount of customers I guess.

There s a sign right at the entrance talking about how AB wants to crest a unique experience for every customer etc. ... Maybe time for Mgmt to embrace that again.

Great southern atmosphere with a variety of food choices and prices. Multiple spaces to choose from in the restaurant depending on mood, from a formal dinner to casual bar-top seating upstairs at the Wild Turkey Lounge. Great outdoor bar as well. Take the tour to get the full experience! Service is top notch.

On the very rare occasions I visit Raleigh for work this place has been my highlight. Not this time, alas. At $43 for a steak you'd expect them to know how to cook it. I like my steak pink with no blood which is what I specified. My filet was oozing blood. No big deal. Just get a replacement right? Nope. The waiter unceremoniously picked up my steak, slapped it on my COLLEAGUES side plate and took it away. That wasn't the last I saw of it. It returned 5 mins later very charred.

Sad end to a meal at an otherwise good restaurant in a nice setting
