I can't get over how spectacular my dining experience was! The portions are VERY generous and the quality is absolutely top notch! This is by far the best dining experience I've ever had, not just in Raleigh but the triangle as a whole! Because of the (justified) cost I'd personally limit my visits to special occasions, however I will certainly not hesitate to come back once the next occasion arises! The atmosphere is also very enjoyable as the lighting around the dining area provides a wonderful ambiance. 10 out of 10 will dine again!

Love this Restaurant but the service and the food is starting to the decline. we used to eat here all the time and I went last time we had burnt spicy wedges I also drank sprite that tasted like a soda machine cleaner or something of that nature. It didn't taste like soda and Our waitress didn't replace it she only offered something that didn't come out the soda dispenser this was very unprofessional being that you should just changed the soda inside the machine out instead of being lazy. for the most part it is a great restaurant if you want to look around and see but in far as their customer service and food..... I wish it was like it use to be

Good food and friendly staff. We only go here on special occasions though due to price. Although the are other places with comparable food for less. The wait is also super long unless you make a reservation

Unique rustic setting in a beautiful location. Wait staff is top-notch. You'll open your wallet a bit more for the food, but worth it. Chances are good you'll have leftovers to take home.

What can someone say about "The Barn" that hasn't already been said? It's a fantastic place for either special occasions or the mini food-vacation from the "everyday." Great people, and you won't go away hungry or disappointed!

Outstanding great service. Wonderful staff and you get everything you pay for. I will be back again for another item off my bucket list. If you have not tried this place you must. Please be advised it is costly but worth it.

The Angus Barn did not disappoint tonight. The prime rib was bloody fantastic. After eating what seemed like half a pound of meat, I was still able to bring home 28oz of a 22oz slab of meat. The picture does it no real justice...

Angus Barn. Enough said. It's so nice that it takes two hours to eat a meal. The food and service is always so good. Christmas time is the best time to go. It's decorated unlike any other place.

A unique restaurant with history and the cuisine to back it up. It has a wonderful gift shop inside as well. Don't worry about the wait for a table, as they serve cheese and wonderful crackers as well. The turkey lounge is a casual affair with the same elegance of the of the main restaurant. If you live in the area and haven't been here I highly suggest you do.

It was an okay experience. Inside of the building is rustic design at it's best. The service was excellent and the Malbec wine was delicious. The stake was just "okay" and for a place called the Angus Barn, I expected a more flavorful taste. The price is a little much in comparison to similar restaurants. I may or may not go back.

Food was amazing and the atmosphere is just incredible. We ate inside, but they had the place spaced out so well, it felt like a private restaurant. The staff was fantastic. And the food! Did I mention the food was to die for!

We celebrated our 20th anniversary. Our experience was one that will not be forgotten! From the Christmas lights illuminating the grounds, The top self Bartenders upstairs, our waiter Jeff who should be at a university training future hospitality super stars, There surf and turf options that are 2nd to none, a dessert bar that has a pie voted 1 of the best in the nation and you will not be able to appreciate how amazing this Beef eaters haven is until you book a reservation.

Good food and drinks here always. If it's really crowded, ask about the little hideaway in the back that's located in what looks like a meat locker. It's a nice little area for a couple or very small group to eat or drink in.

I've enjoyed this restaurant for special occasions for more than 40 years; it's an iconic dining experience in the capital city of NC. Perhaps it is nostalgia that I remember past experiences as special, both in terms of food and service, but our most recent visit on December 26, 2014 was disappointing. The food was above average, as always, but new restaurants in town seem to be paying more attention to detail and presentation than the AB. It is not known for its elegant atmosphere, especially in it's larger "barn" area on both floors. But the upper-level Wild Turkey lounge, where we had cocktails as we waiting for our table (we had reservations), was a madhouse. People were packed in, with tables and chairs askew, and it was so noisy we had to shout during conversation. It wasn't a horrible experience overall, (the parting treat of gingerbread cookies at the door was nice), but I probably won't choose it again among places to eat for out-of-town guests.

Wonderful experience, as always. Our waiter, Danny, was just excellent. Attention to detail, efficient, helpful - he was a delight. He took us on a tour of the wine cellar through the kitchen and it was well-worth the time. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

My husband and I both absolutely love it!! Mr. Michael Blue is the waiter we always ask for when making our reservations. He is always very attentive! Not to mention the food never disappoints. It is pricey but for the service, experience, quantity and quality of the food makes it worth it.

I had been told for years by so many people how amazing this place was. I was underwhelmed especially for the price. My $49 Chateaubriand was over cooked. I said MR. It was closer to MW. After it came back, it was tough. The ribs we had for appetizers were better. My bill was over $150 and needless to say not even close to worth it.

This is one of the five places to eat in NC, the best in the triangle for sure.

Yes, some food is better in some places, but all the food is amazing in this place.

Nothing more than to say this is the best overall experience you can have and surprisingly affordable.

I don't get it! We drove an hour and a half to have dinner here for my husband's birthday. The food was not good. My salad was a huge bowl of lettuce, my vegetable medley was a bowl of tasteless mush. I was so disappointed. And where is the great ambiance everyone speaks of? Packed in like sardines...loud and dark. Perhaps we missed something??? In my opinion it's overpriced, overrated and underwhelming. I left hungry and sad.

My husband and I love food. And we are picky about what we would call "good". We were wary about trying Angus barn because we have heard the food was not that great for the price. About a year ago we decided it was time to try it and were pleasantly surprised and added it to one of our favorite places. The service was great and the food was cooked perfectly. The steaks had an amazing flavor and were done to perfection. The wine list is great and the atmosphere is fun but not too noisy and nice.
Fast forward to Father's Day this year. My dad lives out of state and I never get to spend Father's Day with him and wanted to take him somewhere special. My husband and I took my parents to Angus Barn back in December for the first time while they were visiting and they absolutely loved it so I wanted to take Dad back.

We had an excellent server who was very attentive but not annoying. We were enjoying a nice relaxing conversation when our server came to apologize for the delay in our meal (we hadn't even noticed) and inform us the kitchen was running behind and told us to save room for dessert--and that it would be on the house. We were absolutely in no rush and had no issues with the wait, and were very surprised with the offer! We continued to chat and sip wine when whom I am guessing was the manager came to see us. She too apologized profusely for the delay and reiterated there were delays in the kitchen that evening and they were terribly sorry for causing any inconvenience. We were already enjoying our evening and were not upset whatsoever, but she continued to tell us how unacceptable the wait was and prompted to inform us that our entire meal--including our wine and the free dessert offered--would be comped. We were speechless. That gesture is beyond what we could have ever expected---especially since we were having a lovely evening and were not upset by the delay whatsoever! This act of incredible customer service not only proves the integrity of excellence for this establishment, but how each and every person walking in the door is truly cared about. We never even uttered a complaint and were given above and beyond what we deserved that night. We love the Angus Barn and it is always on the top of our list when it comes to great food and a great dining experience. We have always had a wonderful time there but this past visit is one to remember. The level of customer service we have received is simply unlike anywhere else we have been. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food and where to be truly treated better than one can expect anywhere.

The service I had was absolutely horrible! The lady cane to us fast the first time to get our drink order, then we didn't see her for about 20 minutes and finally got our drinks with no water had to ask for that. Then I had to ask for the olive tray and cheese and cracker tray. When we finally got our steaks she left too fast before I cook see if my steak was right which it wasn't I asked for medium well and got medium rare. My steak was cold before we finally saw our waitress. She took it back and it took forever to cook it when I got it back it was burnt and horrible. We never got a discount or anything. My other experience here wasn't very good either.

I'm not sure what all the hype is about Angus barn. The food is just good. You could cook your own steak just as well. You are paying a lot of money just to say you are paying a lot of money.
Best part is the Christmas atmosphere, other than that I am not a big fan of their actual food.
