I wish there were more than 5 stars to give. Every local knows about the Angus Barn, whether they have had the pleasure of dining there or not. The ambiance is exquisite and colorful. The staff is committed to excellence and the customer More

Very sad... Ive been going to the Angus barn for about 10 years now. Its always been a place where I would bring my out of state family and friends. But, last night when my husband and I decided to go there for dinner we were quite disappointed. Let me first start with the estetics of the restaurant; the entrance outside is a complete mess. There are tables and chairs thrown all over and a TV like in a sports bar. The inside to the right now has 3 high top tables without chairs, and no one there. The country store is now half the size. We specifically went for the ribs, they were horrible, very tough and dry. They used to fall off the bone, no longer. The wait staff is great but the food doesn't measure up any more. Quite frankly, the appearance of the outside and the lack of quality in the food will keep us from visiting again....and it use to be one of my favorite places to go.

First time experience here. Food was ok, enjoyed the gathering with work company. Server tried to remove rolls and cheese spread six times throughout the evening. Kept telling him to leave. Upsetting after telling him once to leave. Ordered the salmon and sweet potato. Salmon was undercooked and sweet potato was burned. When we got up from the table to leave, a roach was crawling on the floor next to our table. Atmosphere was nice. I recommend you go to see the sights, gun collection and Christmas tree and decorations but pass on the meal. Will not recommended. The place needs pest control and a good cleaning. Scary to think of how dirty the kitchen is if roaches are crawling around in the dining room.

Went here for my anniversary dinner with my wife. The service was impeccable. I had the 22 oz prime rib and it was cooked to perfection. One recommendation I have is trying their red wine sangria, I absolutely enjoyed my experience.

Classic in every way. Since moving to Raleigh two years ago, I've been here six or seven times, and each time, it was fantastic. The last time I was here, I took my grandmother. She loves lobster tail and ordered the 16oz tail, figuring that weight included the weight of the shell. Nope. The meat was 16oz. It was enormous--and also delicious. And every time I've been, the service has been great.

Great quality steaks, the espresso rubbed fillets are pretty small and the beans and peppers that come along were rather plane. Check was on the table forever.

Starters were great and outside of the tail end staff was very attentive and friendly, I'm sure I was an outlier on the check

Angus Barn in Raleigh is a great place to eat. Pricey? Yes, but worth it especially for Special Occasions. The service and food are wonderful and you feel welcomed from the moment you step through the door. The Chateaubriand was cooked to perfection, appetizers were excellent and came out very quick. Sides, especially the button mushrooms were, as one TV Celebrity would say, "Delish"!!! Will I go back? ABSOLUTELY!!!

First, I am gluten free, and always looking to see which places are safe to dine. The Angus Barn is wonderful! They have a separate gf menu and the servers are well versed about the gf appropriate foods, if not, they will go to the kitchen and verify for you. These people know what they are doing. They are all about customer satisfaction. There is a fabulous, covered, outdoor seating area with a bar where you can wait for your table or the other guests in your group. There is a covered drop off/ pick up area as well. There are stations of free nibblies while you wait as well as a play area for the little ones. I don't typically talk about the bathrooms, but the ladies room, don't know about the gents, was amazing. Weird to say, I know, but when you go you will know. They have full doors, so no peeking under the stall, and there is another room, just for lounging/primping. It was amazing. Oh, yes, and then there is the food. Well, that is another reason they have been around for such a long time, it was fabulous! We were served appetizers, on the house, as we had to wait an extra thirty minutes for our resrvation, shrimp & ribs, scrumptious. For the entree most of the group had either prime rib or filet mingon with soup or salad, melt in your mouth deliciousness. There was also dessert, which had to go home to be enjoyed later, I think you understand why. If you are looking for a great place to eat for a large group of different ages or just for a nice dinner out as a couple this is the place. You will not be dissapointed.

Amazing food, even more amazing atmosphere! If you get the chance, go during the holidays. It's magical! The New York Strip I had was to die for! The staff was warm and accommodating, as was the service. What a great experience!

As a married gay couple, Angus Barn rolled out the red carpet for us. We picked the Angus Barn to celebrate our anniversary. When making our reservation, I was ask if we were celebrating a special occasion, I told them our anniversary. Upon our seating our waiter wished us a happy anniversary. He paid attention to every detail of our dining experience. At the end of our meal he presented us with a lemon pound cake with 2 candles. The table next to us wished us a happy anniversary and clapped. Felt very comfortable as a gay couple and welcomed. Would highly recommend this restaurant to all gay couples or singles!

Nice

amazing food & service! the tour was SO COOL - we loved it - our guide was very informative, accommodating, & offered to take pics for us in the different rooms. the appetizers (soup & shrimp) were delicious. all of our steaks were righteous & delectable - we all left there so full! we also ordered this smoky red wine that was a double bottle - we all loved it, perfect recommendation from our server !

Maybe the most disappointing thing about this review is that I cannot give it a sixth star. This is by far the greatest restaurant in all of North Carolina. Our server was still on his A+ game at 10:30 on a Friday night.

WOW.... this is definitely not your local Outback or Longhorn! Rebecca was our server and she was absolutely magnificent. The food was wonderful. Filet, salad, pecan pie, bread and even my water stay filled and tasted great. I liked the atmosphere and everything as a whole was outstanding. Kudos to this restaurant.

One of the best steaks I have ever had. I for,the small bacon wrapped filet with the aditional cracked pepper sauce. It was amazing. The wine was super smooth. The atmosphere was exactly what I wanted, it was recommended to me for a local type night out, to catch up with a friend from out of town. The only thing is that it should have $$$ instead of $$. It was crazy pricey but worth it.

A classic. The place, atmosphere, service quality and the food. It all works flawlessly, in such a way that it will blow your mind.
A true local classic that everyone should experience, whether you go with your family, friends, significant other or even with your colleagues from work. It could be a bit pricey, but it's very well worth it.

This place used to be great! I have lived in Raleigh for 10 years and this used to be one of my favorite places to go for steaks and burgers. The food quality and service have slowly declined and it all culminated last night for me.

I was taking a client and some co-workers out for dinner and drinks so we sat in the Turkey Lounge. I arrived at 7pm, and after getting a drink at the bar we were sat at a table and and waited about 15 minutes until I asked the host to send our server over as we had been sitting with empty drinks for almost 10 minutes. Our server never told us his name only that the kitchen was slammed.

We ordered drinks and food and waited about 30 minutes for our food. I ordered a MR burger and received a well done burger. Add 10 more minutes to the wait. The burger came out and was cooked "okay" more around medium but I didn't care at that point. After asking about everyone's meal it looked like 5 out of the 7 people that were there had meals that were overcooked. One of the Filet's that was ordered was burnt on the outside. I ordered another draft beer and sat with an empty drink for 10 minutes. I saw our server walking around and bringing drinks to other tables and asked him if I could get my beer. He obviously forgot and went and got my beer.

Suffice it to say, this will be the last time I visit Angus Barn. I will not pay high prices for such poor quality of service and food.

Valet stated they serve until 11pm. At 10pm when I entered the hostes seemed really surprised I was there to dine. She pointed to the stairs to the bar and lounge if I wanted food. She wasn't sure if they would serve me. Bartender was accommodating and took my order. The salad was fair. The cheese bar only had a bowl of cheese spread. The half rack of ribs were dry, burned and well below average flavor and lacking in the amount of meat on the bone. I'm not sure what the rave is all about. I won't be returning for a meal. When I finished my meal the door was locked and I had to find someone to let me out. Overall experience was 4 out of 10.

Service was excellent and enjoyed my prime rib steak. I also enjoyed the broccoli that I ordered with it; but I did not really enjoy the mushrooms as a side however; but that is just me. Our waitress was fantastic and very helpful, and the dessert which was a hot fudge sundae was excellent.

A butterfly could flutter its wings in China and your steak could be ruined stateside. I say that because you can go to the same restaurant order the same steak ten times in a row and it wouldn't be the same quality or flavor. That is not the case at the Angus! I've been here a few times and every time has been worth it. One of my fears is that greatness comes at a price but at the Angus barn you get a viking sized meal for a price that almost makes you want to buy more even though your waistband is crying. All in all beautiful rustic decor, unbelievable meal, and service like that of royalty.
