Fantastic facility with comfortable room and gorge...
Fantastic facility with comfortable room and gorgeous rooftop bar area. Would definitely recommend to a friend and would stay here again.
Fantastic facility with comfortable room and gorgeous rooftop bar area. Would definitely recommend to a friend and would stay here again.
Rooftop bar not open when we visited but views from room amazing! Room views stunning! Room was spacious and clean.
Very nice attention, nice view 3 blocks from the 5th avenue I LOVED !!
Great hotel but the room smelled like cigarettes unfortunately.
Ay Playa! This hotel is the best dog gone hotel in the NY! (for us middle class folk.) These trill OG's treat ya right playa! Swang down to this gone getter today! Calling all true playas!
Great hotel
Fantastic location
Would recommend and definitely return for another stay here
Had everything we were looking. pleasantly surprised with the size of our room, we were on 3rd floor, street side with a window that opened for fresh air. Street noise was minimal, we didn't even hear garbage trucks. Washroom large with excellent shower and lots of pressure. The bed and pillows were wonderful ( I wish my mattress was this nice)
We did not use housekeeping as we were only there 3 days, nor did we use restaurants. Door man was always helpful with direction.
It was an easy walk to Grand Central for metro.
We stayed here with Porter Airlines special and if the price is right we will stay here again.
Stayed there for a week, friendly and helpful staff. We asked for sheets for the pull out couch bed and someone had them at our door within 2 minutes. Rooms were big and nice, nothing was old or run down.
In a very good location excellent landscape and excellent service
Nice restaurant with good food, the hotel itself was nice especially the rooftop! The room was big with a big and comfy bed. The only one thing was that the hotel itself didn t seem to be air conditioned where as the room was. Great stay and would stay again.
Everything is perfect about this hotel. The food the staff the facilities are all amazing the food is to die for even the room service is hot and prompt. My days were spent out of the hotel but at night and mornings it was perfect.
460 a night for a room with no view and outdated furniture, even found hair on the window sill and a wrigley's gum wrapper with used gum stuck inside, sitting on the floor in plain site.
Nice hotel with reasonable rates in a great central location
Everything is great except the wifi. It only allows up to three devices so families or groups of more than 3 beware, you will constantly be fighting over the wifi.
Really great hotel in Manhattan.. highly suggest it
Check-in was simple. Concierge was delightful. Room was spotless & cozy. I called maintenance within 5 minutes of being in the room due to problems with the thermostat. The maintenance man arrived promptly... only to show me I don't know how to use a thermostat. We laughed about it. Great stay, I'll be back for sure.
Good value for money. I like the Murray Hill location. The daily "Resort fee" is now often used by hotels to show a lower than real price. Very annoying.
Mixed positive review:
Great Location big 10/10 for location. 5 Mins to Grand Central you can go everywhere.
They regularly over book the hotel. On our 1st night after a long flight we had to check-in at another hotel which was fortunately only 10 blocks away. The round trip taxi ride was paid for by Shelburne Hotel(nice). The other hotel was a very nice hotel tho a bit more ''fancy'' than Shelburne. Back to Shelburne Hotel we were nicely surprised being upgraded to a suite which was a nice move from the management. To be honest they are not the best but they do make an effort to make you happy. They may seem quite cold but they try to do what is right to compensate for the mishaps. Room is large but looks a bit dated but to be honest you do not go to NYC for the hotel room. From our corner suite we got a nice view of the Empire State building. I would definitely recommend the Shelburne to people who are not very picky regarding hotels. you need to do compromises. Large room and great location but a bit dated. Over booked hotel but gets an upgrade when you come back. Average customer service but they do the necessary to make you happy. I would re visit if I go to NYC again
Good rates for Seniors Ciziten. Easy to visit histrionics places. UN Empire State Building & Central Park. Museums also.
The hotel was clean ,tidy but basic. No complimentary water ,the only choice for a hot drink in the room was coffee ,I would have liked to have seen complimentary hot chocolate and /or tea . The staff were wonderful, very helpful .
Reasonable. Good size rooms. Wine tasting at 5 every night. Good bar.
I love this hotel , its so updated and modern .
The staff is very friendly and understandable and always try to make sure we were OK during our stay .
It's a good place to be at in the summer time if you like to walk around and explore the city now is the time to be there
Amazing gem of a hotel. Lobby was clean and active, the staff was very helpful and kind. And the picture was from the roof top that had a wonderful view.
Located just a few blocks from iconic NYC landmarks, such as the Chrysler Building and Grand Central Station, and subway stations, the Shelburne is ideally located to be out an about all day. It's simple interior and comfy beds are more meant as a resting and recharging spot after a long day of touring the city.
Family friendly. 5 min to Grand Central
And city is your oyster.
Clean rooms and beds. The rooftop bar and wine happy hours were top notch.
Scam - $30 dollar service fee at the end which is apparently for basic hotel room things like wifi, hate to break it to you Shelburne but those are things you get when you pay your bill at the beginning. Stay away.
Loved my fall stay here. The apartment/room was amazing and the views were even better. I couldn't ask for a better location to see everything in Manhattan and it was easy to get to from the airport.
View was great, drinks were good, and staff was accommodating.
Rare restaurant right downstairs, very convenient. Hotel is nice with decent size rooms.
Felt a bit dated for the price... location is amazing tho
I miss the old Affinia Dumont, but the Shelburne was a great experience too! Great Murray Hill Location.
Nice hotel. Good beds. Quiet area. About. 10 min from Subway. A little worn
Great location and a clean, comfortable room. $30 daily hotel facilities fee was a turn off though.
Wifi for guests is $14.90 a day. Should be free with how much the room cost.
Went there for the burger. Stickiest waiter ever meet.
No exhaust fans in the bathroom and slow draining tub. Crappy wi-fi connection. Ok hotel other than that.
Service was great and the room was overall pretty nice; only complaint is that the kitchen does not seem like an actual kitchen. It has a fridge and a microwave, but there is no stove/oven or utensils like there was in a previous hotel I've stayed at. The location is pretty nice too: fairly close to Grand Central and there's a grocery store very nearby. The restaurant inside is also very convenient!
I would not classify the hotel as 4 stars ... far from it .... maximum 3 stars. Unfriendly hotel staff ... there was no coffee sachets in the room for 3 days (with no explanation from anyone why), the microwave in the room was unclean (it was claimed but remained the same). Although we were 4 guests in the same room, they insisted on only putting 3 bath towels. Good location, but I would not stay again.
Not too far away from the subway makes this a great choice for somebody looking for a place to stay. I called room service asking for something to be sent up to the room and I was shocked at how fast it arrived despite the fact that my room was on the 14th floor. The only downside to this hotel is that the elevators seem to run incredibly slow. I waited in the lobby numerous times for an elevator to show up.
Wonderful brunches available, amazing location. Close to everything, renovated hotel rooms.
Nice and professional had a clean room. I liked that they give out ear plugs. You are in a city that doesn't sleep.
It was a great experience although there's no on-site self parking, a complimentary breakfast bar would've been a great replacement. The rooms were spacious and the bathroom was very clean and spacious
Beautiful!! Very clean and nice. It's also in a great location to see many famous locations!!
There would be a table in the room. Since it has a kitchen, but there is no place to sit even for breakfast ...
My review is a bit different; but I CAN share immediately that I will use this hotel as my base ANYTIME I need to be in NYC. The management staff is simply extraordinary... While recently staying at the Affinia Shelburne, my 54 year-old brother needed to be admitted to the Psychiatric Unit at New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center, unbeknownst to the hotel. When I called the hotel to inform the manager on duty (Alex) about the situation, he was so kind, compassionate and helpful I was deeply touched. I had asked him if the hotel could gather my brother's belongings, and also help get them over to the hospital. He reassured my instantly; also letting me know that EVERYTHING would be accounted for, "done by the book" and that after consulting with his general manager on the correct protocol, would have a manager enter the room, with a security guard to collect the items. (items included an airline ticket, 2 MAC laptops, clothes, etc.) I was deeply impressed with his concern both for my brother, and for the hotel to act appropriately! This was on a Friday evening when I spoke to him. He assured me that even though it was the weekend, it would all work out. Saturday morning, I called to check in and spoke with Vasile (sp?), another manager, who let me know that he was very aware of the situation, and should hear from his supervisor shortly. Within an hour, I received a call from George, the General Manager, who let me know that the items were collected, and Vasile would personally be delivering them. I had asked what amount of payment was needed for this assistance, but all three men assured me it was NOT necessary, George commenting that "we are all family men, we know how things can happen. We just want your brother home safely, we are glad to help! Our guests are like family while at this hotel." The items were all carefully delivered to the hospital for my brother, who has suffered from schizophrenia for decades, and when in difficulty, is often unintelligible (hates his dentures).
The humane, concerned, and efficient way management dealt with this situation was profound, and deeply warmed my heart. How wonderful to find caring, conscious individuals working at this hotel! They were also very careful to do everything legally, getting the right permissions to enter the room; etc. Can't wait til I can have a reason to be in New York and give them each a hug... when I check into the Affinia Shelburne! I am a lifelong fan.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Shelburne Hotel & Suites. The staff was able to change my room on the fly so I could have a king-sized bed and a microwave. I appreciated the wine happy hour in the lobby and the great city views from the rooftop.
Beds very comfortable, pleasant staff, room service food very good. Only drawback, towels stiff and thin.
Friendly staff and specially the front desk lady who. Checked me. In
Definitely a 5 star hotel. I love the housekeeping.
Never actually been. My ladyfriend lives across the street so Google thinks that's where I am every time I visit her. She has stayed here, though, and says it's nice. I'll take her word for it. You'll be staying in Midtown Manhattan, so you'll be near everything.
Well located in residential area of Midtown. The room is comfortable although the bathroom is small and dated.
Friendly place and relaxed atmosphere. Their restaurant is nice too.
Good Rooms
Low price
Friendly Personal
Free adapters for sockets (from any to American plug)
Issues: the other Sockets cut out if you activate a powerful hair Dryer
They didn't managed to place enough towels for 4 people in the room (mostly 3 towels)
Despite this I WOULD RECOMMEND this hotel
Nice big room within walking distance of stuff. Very clean.
Not impressed. Over priced for an outdated and badly run hotel
The manager john is racist. Do not book rooms here, the staff is extremely unpleasant.
Clean, comfortable, modern vibe to an older building, great shower. Decent restaurant inside, but many better choices in area. Great rate through HotelTonight app.
Paper thin walls allowed for hearing every conversation in hallway and adjacent rooms. Old dingey carpets in hallway. Paint stains on wall in bathroom. Great price though. If you need a bed, and are a deep sleeper or heavy drinker and passer-outer, this spot may just work out.
I was supposed to be in a suite, but ended up with a 2 queen bed room. Wasn't too happy with that, but the room was clean and comfortable and the view from the roof was amazing.
Great place to stay. Very clean, all the amenities, nice furnishings. I m happy!
We traveled with my disabled mother over Thanksgiving. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They did everything to make sure we were comfortable and satisfied. Rooms are very clean and spacious (for New York). The decor is stylish and up to date. The location is good, close enough to the subway. If you'd rather uber or taxi, it's central enough that fares were under $20. Thankfully, it's set back from midtown and was fairly quiet. For the price, I think the hotel was an excellent deal.
Very nice and clean hotel, the staff and personal were very helpful and attentive which was a big plus....
Room service is the worst. We ordered breakfast once by door-knocker and once by phone the night before, but they dropped both orders (did not deliver). I called 7 minutes after 11:00 a.m. to ask where our breakfast was (for the 10:30-11:00 a.m. requested delivery) and they told me they had not received the door-knocker. Not a problem. It s only 11:07. I thought. Then I asked if I could order the breakfast that I had ordered on the knocker. No, we are closed.
When a guest places a door-knocker or calls dining-in/room service the night before to order breakfast, and the orders are dropped (not delivered), you do not tell a guest that they can not order food 7 minutes after the order was supposed to be delivered.
Great location near midtown. Close to Grand Central. Nice rooms and staff. Highly recommend.
This place have great service plus have a bar on the top roof. I love it.
Very good hotel with a great mid town location. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.
This hotel doesnt deserve a star. It's the most horrible bed I have ever sleep on. The pillows do not hold their shape. Dont go there..
Reasonably priced (for Manhattan), well decorated, above average rooms, and the wine hour is pretty great. Plus Rare, the restaurant attached, is phenomenal. I stay here every time I visit.
