Most horrible experience ever! I slipped in the pool area and fell hitting my back on the stairs when i mentioned it to the supervisor that they needed to place slip resistance strips near the pool steps she became rude and told me that it was my fault because i should of known it was going to be slippery. We had no toilet paper or towels and told them at noon at 1am they woke us up to give it to us! The air vents in our room was black with mold and dust! The prices on their signs for bottled drinks said $2 but they charged $3 saying they just havent changed the signs yet! The elevators kept getting stalled! The pool room was not monitored and people were letting their very small children 3-7 yrs of age play in the hot tub while the parents smoked and drink alcohol. When they cleaned our room they put all the trash out side our door no clean sheets no clean towels no anything!!!
Very fun water resort in a hotel. Everything was clean, staff friendly, and was a lot of fun for both children and adults.
A lot of fun. Great place to bring the kids. A lot of activities that the whole family would enjoy.
worst place ever! super rude people and the pools don't look very clean. a big waste of money.
I attend this resort several times and also stay at the Adam's Hotel. Sometimes the experience is good, sometimes is bad. The water temperature is cold, the adults hot tub sometimes is closed and sometimes is open but with kids inside. The administration need do a big effort mantainmain this area for adults only, is a pain looking for a relax time and need share space with toddlers yelling. The slides always in good conditons, the staff is very strict with the kids size policy, the snack bar have a good offer for pozsa and combos, very good prices in sodas and snacks. Always clean towels available at the front desk. The hotel rooms need improve, but not bad for the price.
Water park was fun for the kiddo. It is February and kids teeth are chattering they are so cold. the 2 stars mainly came from the food service. Or lack of service. People getting so frustrated with how slow it was they were getting out of like saying screw this. Waited 35 minutes standing there for a HOTDOG! And thats ALL I ordered. Why does a hotdog take 35 minutes? Even though it says no outside food I recommend to bring your own food if you expect to eat
Fun for about an hour but it gets old fast. It's also a closed in cement room so it gets really loud. And they need to clean more, it's pretty dirty.
All terrible experiences with absolutely everything there, step up your game coco keys
It was out first time being a guest at coco keys, we were very pleased and thankful our children were entertained.
Someone got shot here last weekend. Need i say more?
Friendly staff, warm water, great slides and pools for kids. We'll be back!
Uderly discusting waterpark, I had a bandaid go into my mouth while swimming in the pool, it was gross, not too mention the water was green. Ig everything else was ok for the most part.
$7 for a slice of pizza $5 hotdogs, hottubs not working this time last time it was the river.
After reading many other reviews..I was almost not wanting to go.. Upon arriving it was good experience even with kids younger than 5.. Everyone had a great time. Only thing that could use improvement is the place to get food...that took forever and they only had 2 people working it..
Very small and crowded, definitely over priced. You would be better off at a local public pool than here.
The experience here at this hotel and water park is horrible. The rooms are nasty, roaches crawling on the walls in the hallways on floor 8, floors in halls are dirty. I don't think they ever dust or clean. Beds are uncomfortable. We had to change rooms because of the toilet overflowed. The coffee was horrible. The water park is dark an gloomy. The pictures on the Internet make this place look amazing over the top but once your here it's horrible. We're not a family that expects a lot but we do expect our stay to be worth the price we paid. In all reality it would of been nicer at motel 6 at least there rooms are managable.. we will never stay here again and we will spread the word.
P.S if you want a great family vacation go to great wolf lodge. It's amazing a bit pricey but totally worth the stay.
This was way the most nastiest hotel we have ever stayed at !!We booked two rooms and both were nasty although the housekeeper was very nice and moved us to different rooms that she has personaly cleaned! And they only comp us $20 dollars back for our inconvenience! The sinks were stopped up and the water ran all night!!! I guess its save to say me and my family will never stay here again although the water park and food wasn't to bad
Made a big scene toward my kid that can swim and has been swimming for years in the lake and jumping off house boats. Stated they had to jump in and "save" him with me in arms reach away watching him. But it was a nice clean environment. Just felt as though we were being followed after "saving".
Filthy hotel room, broken toilet, no water pressure in the shower, no towels in the bathroom, no answer on the guest services phone, held for 15 minutes for the front desk. After the wait we never did have any towels delivered. Broken elevator. Loose rugs in the front entryway, lots of guests tripping and getting suitcases stuck on the rugs. Bad parking lot with no sidewalks and lots of ice. We had to park in the rear of the hotel, but the rear hotel doors are locked on Sunday mornings, meaning we had to carry children and luggage through the front doors and walk around the outside of the hotel in an icy parking lot to get to our cars. The 1 star given is for the waterpark, which was an enjoyable experience for our children.
Smaller than expected but that turned out to be a great thing. Kids were easy to watch and they had quite a few options to keep everyone happy.
The front desk attendant didn't greet us and was much more interested in a conversation her co-worker was telling. I don't recall seeing anywhere to bring your own towels so we didn't. To our dismay there were no towels available. Due to the weather I can understand why there were so many kids but would have been nice to have an adult only pool. If there was such a thing we couldn't find it. We were so displeased we only spent 30 minutes in our swimsuits.
Since we had received a deal online we spent most of our time gaming. After using the mediocre arcade area we went to cash in our tickets and the counter wasn't turned on. Not that it mattered as there was no one at the prize booth. Actually talked a little girl of out of stealing prizes since no one was monitoring the area.
All in all it was a poor experience and we will not be returning.
Rooms were nice. For 119 a night youd think a microwave or mini fridge would be included. Staff was friendly and helpful. Most arcade games were broken and while most lifeguards were attentive some werent and I saw many small children get slid over when children went down slides and went on the kids at the end of the slide. Mostly inadequate parental supervision
Short version, you can find the detailed review on Facebook: I hope we all didn t catch hepatitis or pink eye, will never go back even after the test results come in..
It takes an extremely open mind to walk through those doors.
CoCo Key Water Resort is a fun way to spend an afternoon.
The hotel is ok, staff not very friendly. Towels not available in water park, and if you sit yours down the staff picks them up to launder them. I got hit with a 200 fee for smoking even though it was just trash from my car, but I have no way of fighting it. Life guards are all young and are not really paying attention to what is going on in pool more so talking to other folks.
Price is high but I guess it's worth it if u swim all day
It has a wide variety of things to do and the price was reasonable. I was surprised that the food & drinks were pretty good as well compared to most venues of this type.
Went for son's birthday, stood in line for an hour to check in which was about 5:30 pm to find out water park closes at 6:00 pm. Water park closes pretty early especially during spring break. The water park itself was fun. Very understaffed, rooms were not cleaned well, they were sold out of arcade cards and thats the only way to play the video games. Only one option for food, not very family/kid friendly.
I used to work here they are Nasty they do not clean their water , the workers do not care about saftey trust me only when Ellis is coming to test , this water park needs to be shut down, idk how they pass expection
Tried to cancel according to their policy for 2 days phones dont work automated system routes you into loop, when you can speak with a person they cannot hear you email and 'contact us' did not work , I can only assume the hotel is as outdated as their communication system
Ok indoor water park for the winter months. Kids had a blast.
Worst visit ever , nothing was right no breakfast was told one thing and got another
The lifeguards are completely worthless, my brother was in the water and needed help while the stupid girl just walked back and forth I yelled at her saying he needs help and she did nothing, so I had to walk over and get him out
Lotsa fun for the kids and the bar tender was best I've dealt with in a while!!
Very fun place for the kids. Does have a snack bar and bar. Nice locker room and lockers available. Only complaint was snack bar didn't open until 11:30 (supposed to open at 11) while the the facility actually opened at 10. So we were really thirsty by the time the snack bar opened. Combo prices on food was good (4 of us ate for $28), but individually priced food was kinda high.
Kids loves it but was much more dirty and kinda trashier than I had pictured or planned. But fun little family mini vacation/weekend
Birthday party for my 8 year old daughter turned out horrible. My wife s car was broken into while parked in front of the water park. The water park has no security at all. The right side glass was broke and body damage from a pry bar bent the door frame. Glass was everywhere and anything they could grab was gone. When reported to the front desk it seemed that this was normal course for a day s business. The manager did admit that this has happened before, but yet no security measures at all are taken by this hotel. How much would a camera system, security fence, retired of off duty security guard, or any deterrent cost. The manager on duty said that the hotel worked with their guest very well and gave me the name and number to contact during normal business hours. After several attempts I was able to reach the person I was instructed to speak with. They wasted no time telling me that they had no responsibility for anything that occurred in the parking lot. I began researching the area and even after suffering loss and damage I actually began to feel relief. You see I got out with only some personal property damage. I learned that there had been robbery that resulted in shootings in this area. It was a mistake of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. This incident happened in broad daylight. At approximately 5:30 the time seemed right for our criminals to attack. Well as I mentioned before with no security measures there isn t any reason for them to wait until dark. They certainly wouldn t want to miss something valuable. However we did have to wait for a couple hours for the police to come. They said that they had several calls and was behind. As we waited it began to get dark and that brought a whole new level of odd activity. I was able to send my kids home with grandma so I could begin to rest easy. It looked like the oldest profession in the world was doing good business. Here I thought we was in a recession, but expendable cash for some looked pretty easy. At this point I was happy about our gun laws. I felt more secure knowing that I was able to protect the family that remained with me while we waited for the officers. I decided to go to Subway across from the Stadium to get some nourishment, I later found out Subway was also robbed two nights earlier. What are the odds? Well for this area I would guess being in the wrong place at the wrong time is about 1 in 10. I can further support this as I was driving back to the scene at Coco Keys I was followed by the Kansas City police department that thought I might have stolen the truck I was driving as they just had a report on close to the same make, model and year. My thought at this point is Coco Keys may need to add any measure of security and the issue of a bullet proof vest for guest. I use to think that the Holiday Inn cares for and supports there guest safety. In my experience it could not be further from the truth. I also thought I was visiting part of a John Q. Hammons hotel who has a vision statement of creating a hotel experience that exceeds every expectation. It is not a Hammons hotel, but rather a Sage something based out of Denver, Colorado. It would be my guess that Sage has a reaction statement rather than a vision statement. Maybe it would read something like we are not responsible for anything that s why you have car insurance. Well for everyone that this helps I thank you for your reaction statement. I feel like I made a bad decision, but that doesn t mean anyone else needs to learn as I did. And for that Sage whatever Holiday Inn Coco Keys I thank you!
Was late for a birthday party here but my daughter had a blast. Awesome memory
We went in january knowing it would be cold, what we didn't expect is for the water in the "resort" to be cold as well. We didn't eat anything at the bar and the locker to store valuables is 5$.. It was a pretty bad experience for us. I wouldn't go back
Took the family for a nice relaxing weekend getaway. Room was filthy and the air conditioning doesn't work. The room next to us had piss stains covering the bed. Not sure if we will even be staying yet. Water park is small and half of the attractions don't work. Was told pipes are busted and it will be at least a week to get it fixed. Doesn't matter, I do not see us coming back. Doesn't even deserve the one star.
Daughter had fun but overall not great experience. Place was dirty.
Was wary from some reviews, but the water park was fantastic. My 12 and 9 year olds loved it, and I loved the lazy river. We bought annual passes for the family after visiting the first time.
Rooms were distguistung. We refused to stay in this hotel. I will never be back.
We found BED BUGS in ALL 3 rooms! This hotel is trashy even b4 that! That just sealed the deal!
This has been the most over priced mini vaca and we will NEVER be back to this place. We checked in and got into our room to find that the shower had not been cleaned. There were hair balls all over the shower. The beds are so broke down you are awake every hour of the night because you and your spouse are sunk in the middle of the broken bed. Don't dare leave the hotel because you can't find a parking space when you return. We left for lunch since we had to pay $32 for 2 kids and 2 adults to have your normal hotel breakfast that i would say was by far way worse then a complementary breakfast you get at every other hotel. When we returned we had to park in the street down the road because there was no parking avalible at the hotel. When we returned to our room we found the housekeeping entered our even though we requested that they didn't. The staff here is very rude the halls smell like your at a hotel in Vegas and you can here everything your neighbors are doing at 3am. If you take anything away from all of this please spend your money elsewhere this place is not worth it.
We left some one took a poop by the eating area..the sad part is they did not shut the place down
This was our second birthday party at Coco Key. Our last party was 6 months ago but while the kids enjoyed the party, the service at that party was a bit chaotic. However, I want to report that this party was a very good, much improved, experience. The staff was top notch; handled everything perfectly. I really appreciated their attentiveness to the kids. For us, the location has always had a wonderful facility, but am pleased to say that their service now matches their facility. Terrific!
When I first came to my room, I found a cockroach in my bathroom
I had a wedding here last Saturday. This company is terrible. I'll never do business with them again. They are very rude and disorganized and all they do is lie. It was also a shotting up there, couple days before my wedding. I would say they service is horrible as hell. This is all in my opinion because i was a bride and i wasn't pleased at all by this company.
Place was expensive. Rooms were very hot! Called the front desk. They moved me rooms. It was still hot. Got maintenance. Still hot. If it's one thing I can't stand it's a hot room in the summer on vacation. Guess the place has terrible reviews on Yelp a local over at Cupcakes a la Mode told me. Wolf Lodge is just as bad she shed also. Plus wolf lodge is even more expensive
This place is run down. The hotel rooms are outdated. The pool area is filthy. I do not think they clean it.
Not the biggest indoor water park, but has plenty to do for the younger kids. Rooms were nice enough. Overall good deal for the price and amenities.
The pools are dirty! There is writs bands all over the bottoms of the pool! I think if they just kept it clean it would be a good experience for everyone.
We came last year for a weekend getaway and loved it so much we're back this year again. My kids love it and have a blast and I love that I can sit back and relax.
Thankful we didn't have to pay. Lots of kids running around unsupervised. Not allot to do for the price you would have to pay.
Visited the place once. Most people there were "local" trash, and out of control teens. Not surprising that there was a murder in the front lobby--just some local trash. Bring your Teflon!!!
We loved the place we got warn out more then the kids
Sold out their water park passes so you couldn t book a room and water park passes. You would think they would save water park passes for people who wanted to pay for a room as well. Enjoy your empty hotel rooms
pertains to water park only! little pricy but a great atmosphere for young kids with enuf fun things for the adults to do as well water park is very well staffed for the safety of the little ones
I stayed at this hotel in June of 2012 for a work convention. During the stay our vehicle was broken into while parked in the hotel parking lot. Ours was at least the third vehicle that had been broken into on hotel grounds during the 4 day convention. The hotel has plenty of signs in their parking lot that state they are not responsible for theft or damage to vehicles. Ironically our vehicle was parked under one of the signs when it was vandalized. While signs are standard procedure for just about any business the hotel has no surveillance cameras, fencing, or security in their parking lot to deter crime. The hotel borders a residential neighborhood. During the entire convention the hotel was full and one of three elevators was non-operational. A second elevator failed forcing the hotel to have guests utilize their service elevator. Other people attending the convention complained of non-working air conditioning in their room but my room on the 12th floor had great AC. We did utilize one of the hotel's conference rooms that had no air conditioning and it was very uncomfortable. The hotel's front desk staff was kind and apologetic regarding our vehicle break-in. They did send out a maintenance staff member to try to vacuum the broken glass out of our car. Their vacuum was not working well enough to do the job but it was a nice gesture. The house keeping staff did a great job and our room was clean and comfortable. I did not utilize the hotel's water park. However, I cannot recommend to anyone to stay at this hotel due to the crime in the area. Choose another hotel in a better part of KC if you are in town for a game, business, or vacation.
Wonderful idea. Waterpark inside a hotel. So when the kiddos get antsy because summer ended far too long ago i can just pick up the phone and book a room and we can spend the day at the waterpark just like it's a summer day and i can have an alcoholic beverage to help with my imagination while i'm listening to the screaming laughter of the hundreds of children who are having the time of their life. Really, good times. Worth every penny.
