I stayed at this hotel in June of 2012 for a work convention. During the stay our vehicle was broken into while parked in the hotel parking lot. Ours was at least the third vehicle that had been broken into on hotel grounds during the 4 day convention. The hotel has plenty of signs in their parking lot that state they are not responsible for theft or damage to vehicles. Ironically our vehicle was parked under one of the signs when it was vandalized. While signs are standard procedure for just about any business the hotel has no surveillance cameras, fencing, or security in their parking lot to deter crime. The hotel borders a residential neighborhood. During the entire convention the hotel was full and one of three elevators was non-operational. A second elevator failed forcing the hotel to have guests utilize their service elevator. Other people attending the convention complained of non-working air conditioning in their room but my room on the 12th floor had great AC. We did utilize one of the hotel's conference rooms that had no air conditioning and it was very uncomfortable. The hotel's front desk staff was kind and apologetic regarding our vehicle break-in. They did send out a maintenance staff member to try to vacuum the broken glass out of our car. Their vacuum was not working well enough to do the job but it was a nice gesture. The house keeping staff did a great job and our room was clean and comfortable. I did not utilize the hotel's water park. However, I cannot recommend to anyone to stay at this hotel due to the crime in the area. Choose another hotel in a better part of KC if you are in town for a game, business, or vacation.
