I've been a member for 20 years and have no complaints. The people there are friendly and professional, and the store has many items useful for car and plane travel. I go there before any long trip. I have the app on my phone, and the towing response is fast.
On Oct 9, 2020, I had Club Fleet Assoc, DANIEL BROCHU, come to my home for battery replacement. I don't know which AAA ofc he came from, but I wanted to make sure and acknowledge him.
First, I thanked him for wearing a mask as I am immune-compromised. He was friendly, warm, extremely knowledgeable & willing to talk about any/everything having to do with my battery (which was the reason for my call). This was not my first bout with my battery dying since the Spring and Covid pandemic, but this time, with many tries, it just wouldn't hold the charge. I opted for a new battery which he had on the truck. As he was getting the new battery for me, he offered to correctly fill my tires for me from his truck, saving me a ton of time with my mini compressor and my 73 yr old back. As work progressed, he told me about a 'battery tender' that AAA now sells & how much he loved the solar one for his own car. I can't tell you how much that info helped me especially with Winter heading our way in a few months. At the end, he gave me all the literature on my new battery, explained it to me as well, and as he drove off, I thought what an extraordinary employee AAA had in Daniel Brachu. He deserves much recognition for a job well done. Please acknowledge him and also place this review into his personnel file. Thank you, AAA, and thank you, Daniel Brochu; you made my stressed out day a pure pleasure!

I've been a AAA member since 1986 and I'm thrilled that this facility has opened. I brought my car in today to get a second opinion after I had my car inspected by a shop who claimed that I needed over $400 worth of repairs made. AAA confirmed my gut instinct that none of the repairs needed to be made; however they did take care of a few other items that came up. They took the time to explain and show me what needed to be done and as far as I can tell, did a great job. I appreciate their honesty which I've come to expect from AAA. The facility is very clean, offers complimentary coffee and water as well as other amenities AAA members have come to expect such as maps and tour guides. Keep up the great work!
The AAA Car Care Center on West Broad is top notch! I always take my personal vehicles and my agency vehicles to Mike and Jessica. They have always been honest and straight forward with me and they resolve whatever issue may come up! I would highly recommend AAA Car Care to anyone and will continue to use their services for years to come because of the great professional relationship that they have cultivated. Impressive customer service and friendly staff with valuable knowledge to their consumers. Fast service and keeping to their appointment times means less downtime and missed work or other planned activities. I couldn't ask for a better car service shop. I have been a member for 35 years. I have always had good service when I needed a road call until yesterday. I had a flat tire in Tappahannock Virginia at around 5:00 p.m. I called AAA and was told a technician was dispatched in Tappahannock at 5:18. I was also told that I would
get texts advising me of where he was and when I could expect him. I waited till around 6:00 and since I had recieved no updates, I tried to get back with a human being to find out what the problem was. Finally at about 6:40, I got to talk to a dispatcher. He said that they had sent an update at 6:36. I was on the phone trying to reach them at that time and had not seen the update. This guy told me the technician was 26 miles away and would arrive at about 7:30. I asked where he was coming from that it was taking from 5:18 to 7:30. He said Hampton Roads Lock and Key. I said, "you are sending a man fro, Newport News to change a tire?" I wondered why they could not find someone closer than 120 miles. He said that because Tappahannock is in their Tidewater division, they can't send anyone from Richmond or Fredericksburg. He didn't know why they couldn't find someone in Williamsburg, Glouchester, etc. Soooo, my grandson and I sat in a car with the motor running to keep warm for 2 1/2 hours while a guy drove from Newport News to change my tire. Apparently, they don't have enough people to answer the phone which causes long times on hold and they don't have enough service people to respond in a reasonable time. I was told that someone was going to call me today from customer relations. I havn't heard yet and it is 8:05.
On our return trip from vacation, we experienced car trouble 31 miles west of Richmond, VA. We called AAA and our car was towed to the AAA Car Care Center on W. Broad St. The manager of the facility, Michael A. Hart, met us when we arrived and said they would check our car and let us know what was wrong. After several diagnostic test, he informed us there may be an engine problem and he would not be able to repair the vehicle on Sunday. We then tried to secure a rental car and was unable to find one near the center. He then informed us he would allow one of his workers to take us to the airport so we could get a car and make it home from our vacation. Mr. Hart went way beyond what I had expected from a service center that was open on Sunday to make sure we could find suitable transportation. I highly recommend if anyone in the Richmond area needs any car repairs and would like to deal with a fair and honest repair shop, they should contact Michael A. Hart at the AAA Car Care Center on W. Broad St. I will forever be grateful to Mr. Hart for him going above and beyond what he could have done on Sunday. Thank you so much. AAA should be proud to have someone of Mr. Hart's integrity and honesty working for them.

Our story: Driving back to NJ from Georgia and blew a brake line on my truck. I stopped in several places before finding this one and thank god I did. I am a member of AAA and now know to look for one of these facilities whenever in trouble again. You wont be disappointed
On the surface it looked like a great place to service my auto... WRONG! Apparently, there are no skilled mechanics willing to work there, with an idiot running the place. There can't solve basic math problems, they refuse to follow redundancy protocol ( check a dipstick ) or perform basic auto mechanical logic... They are there to sell overpriced, unnecessary part replacement & charge unsuspecting people exorbitantly for simpleton service.
Best thing since slice bread. Quality on a budget. Most definitely undercuts dealership prices.

Car care center is a rip off. They charge you high prices and recommend items that you do not need so they can charge more for your work. Brought car in for high pitch squeal when starting and noise in my a/c and an oil change. all notes in the system and when I get a call back they are telling me I need all sorts of things done that has nothing to do with what I brought in for. Didn't even mention what I brought in for until I brought it up. said there was nothing wrong. This the third time this happened and I am NOT letting this go. I will NEVER use their car care center ever again. They are a rip off. they also offer the same headlight cleaning that Sam's Club does and they charge $89 and Sam's club charges $39. hmmmm high way robbery! AAA is only good for road side assistance and nothing else. Oh Tuffy's on Broad street looked my car over and what AAA has recommended is NOT what is needed.

I had 3 different issues and they all were handled within 20 minutes. Yes, I'm a satisfied customer.
My dad booked a vacation package through AAA travel and once he arrived in Hawaii nothing went as planned. The agency never called to review his trip before departure. Once he landed in Hawaii he found out that after asking AAA if all of the activities he wanted to attend would work within the times he wanted, the staff said they called the company and they said that everything would fit and work just fine. He went to the company that AAA planned through and they immediately told him that the times he had scheduled were not going to work and he had to reschedule a whole day of activities. AAA also said that they called the hotel in Hawaii and verified late checkout due to flight times and once again when he arrived the hotel said that no one from AAA had called to make any late checkout appt. and that the hotel could only do it through his travel agent. We also had AAA book a train trip to Washington D.C and it took the agent over 2 hours to book 5 tickets on Amtrak and still put us out on the wrong stop. The museum that we wanted to attend the agent did not know how to get tickets so my wife had to purchase tickets on her cell phone while we waited to book train tickets due to lack of competency on AAA agents part. The entire time booking both trips the agent also continuously tried to shove a credit card down our throats after we told her over 5 times that we were not interested.
Take my advice fellow travelers go find a different travel agency this AAA will not get you the vacation you are paying for!!!
I ran in quickly at lunch on yesterday to get my EZ pass device, the young lady helped me quickly. I noticed they had some other services that I may need. She noticed I was in a rush, offered me the information to call for a travel package. I'm booking a vacation for next year! Great Customer service from this young lady, so sorry I cannot remember her name.

I understand that I'm not the only one on the road. But to wait 3 hrs for gas is completely unexceptionable. If you don't have enough drivers you guys should consider hiring sub contractors. Again 3hrs is unexceptionable and honestly disrespectful. I'm still waiting

The car care advisor had a communication problem with his techs and loaned me his personal vehicle so i could take care of my appointments. I would not expect this from any car care service center. So greatful and appreciate the over and above service!

Fabulous customer service from everyone, except the female at register two whom was a light skin woman late 20s possibly looked very frustrated to be at work. She didn't smile or greet like the other representatives did.
Had to call AAA when car would not start - panicked because just brought husband home from cancer chemo and we have had several wild rides back to hospital for allergic or other reactions. Sharon at the RIchmond store caught the call late evening and was so kind and helpful in getting us assistance. I really appreciate her kindness and concern
Quality service whenever I go to get work done for my car. Always up front about their prices on certain services. Want to adventure through their travel options, but never have the time.
I do not recommend this AAA location. I have been to this location 4 times for an issue that should have been resolved during the time. They have horrible customer service and do not communicate effectively as to the things customers can do to help them complete their jobs until they do not want to work on your car anymore. I have been a AAA member for over 5 years and I have always received the best customer even if it wasn't the best outcome (i.e tows, flat tires, locked out of car) until visiting this location. While there I noticed many customers returning for continued issues or just careless are with their cars (i.e check engine lights back on, lose bolts on tires etc.) I would not recommend this place even with your AAA discount and reputation. I implore you go some where else for an option before going here.
Was towed in for repairs by AAA shortly before Christmas - they repaired the issue improperly, causing damage to parts of my engine, charged me $1500, and have yet to make anything right two weeks later. Go anywhere else.
EDIT: Finally got in contact with the shop manager and they are paying to have the issues repaired by the dealership. Have adjusted my review to reflect that; I'm still not happy that this happened, but at least it's being made right.

This place I amazing! We had a tire fall off van and the tow truck driver "country" was awesome. He had the van on the truck and to the location in an hour. They closed at 7 pm but open up and brought it in when we got there a few minutes after 7 then worked on it first thing in morning. Can't say enough about the amazing treatment! Thank you.

I first called in an attempt to get information for a vacation. I was referred to someone and transferred to their line, no one answered, no one called back. I called back and got the samething. Then I tried to stop by, it was 5:30 on a Tuesday, all the lights were on, there were people inside, the doors were locked, no one even looked up!
Took my car in to be diagnosed and all they did was hook it up to the computer and did not test the faulty part or test drive it. They said they did not have the equipment to properly diagnose it and referred me to the dealer AND STILL CHARGED ME A DIAGNOSIS FEE OF $130. They should have told me they couldn't work on power steering before I wasted my money on nothing.
It was ok. Wish I could have gotten a better discount in my purchase. Also th agent it attendant whatever her title is did very well. U think herndne was Syndy. Will look at her business card. She was very knowledgeable. She helped me finish my process and updates. Thank you

I usually like this place. I had my car serviced here several times before and used their travel agency service as well but I'm gonna reconsider these choices.
Just took our 2 cars there for state inspection (they apparently don't take appointments for this and first come first serve which is fine). But one of the big overweight dude (which apparently seems to be their car service manager.. well good luck AAA...) greeted us with nothing but sarcasm! So we left immediately and made appointments for car inspection (yes! Appointments! Another thing apparently this AAA doesn't do in addition to being polite...) with another place.

Perfect experience all around. Michael Hart did a great job expediting the job and setting me at ease through the process. Shop was spotless as well as the retail space inside. AAA is excellent because of places like this and people like Michael!
Just about what one would expect. Tow truck driver was very pleasant. I suppose standard pricing, I had nothing to compare it to. I was traveling & it was the only place around. The staff was nice, I just cannot say that I was wowed so you speak.

We take both of our cars there and they continue to provide quality and professional care. They are a large corporation with a hometown feel. Getting an appointment is easy and convenient. This is the second time I ve been told my car would be finished the same day for one flat tire and when order a ride over to the Triple aaa car service my car wasn t even touch yet. Having to be car less again, Im tired of horrible service.
Not the friendliest of employees. I stopped by over the weekend to use their facilities and take a break from driving. No customers in the store but they seemed like it was inconvenient to be pleasant or helpful.
Michael Hart was once again pleasant , courteous and helpful during a visit for leaking tire. Michael been very helpful about a year ago with another vehicle tire check and solved the problem.
Unfortunately, they could not find the leak in our tire,. The tire was flat again in 24 hours. Another facility did find the leak at the junction between the sidewall and tread.

Looking at the other reviews it seems that the customer should ask for Michael and no one else to be their service advisor.
My experience with this shop and problems I had are to numerous to mention..Still waiting for my refund of a towing back to there shop to repair a problem they said was repaired..I was told the me mechanic that jerked me around for months has been relieved..
This is always my first stop for maintenance. The staff has been wonderful and very honest/helpful. I do also have a membership to AAA (I feel like pretty much all drivers should) so there is a discount on service and you can buy cheap movie theater tickets (if movie theaters ever are a good idea again)

I don t generally write bad reviews but I m going to make sure I write on every review platform so I can make as many people aware.
TL;DR: Came in because my car was overheating. After the diagnosis, they quoted me $1100 and said that my radiator hoses, radiator and thermostat needs to be changed. Went to a different garage, and they said the radiator was fine and only hoses and thermostat needs to be changed. Charged me $300 total including labor & car is running fine now.
The AAA customer service rep reduced the cost from $1100 to $800 which was good but felt odd at the time because I didn t bargain at all. Now that I know, after the fact that they reduced the price because they were already overcharging me like crazy. I also checked the prices on Autozone for all three parts and altogether it came to about $200. They were basically charging me FOUR times the amount.
Also one other point to note, they initially said the diagnostic fee was $120 but then came later on to say it was actually $65. Looking at it later on, I just feel it was a trick for them to gain my trust so they could get me to pay huge amounts they quoted me after that.
Michael Hart and his staff are so caring, compassionate, and knowledgeable. I had to have my car towed to their facility on 12/10/17. On Monday, I found out that I had a blown head gasket. I was so distraught with the news, but Michael offered me suggestions and options on how best to handle the situation. Can t thank him enough for handling the issue so professionally. I would highly recommend AAA Car Care Service and this Glenside facility for all of my car needs. Thank you all so much!
This is average at best, and there was nothing that made this stand out from the crowd. We were the only family in the shop and there was trash on the floor and in the booths. Most of the yogurt machine was either empty or not frozen. The hot fudge dispenser was also empty. The guy behind the counter said all of three words to me. Just very unimpressed.
