Really wish this place existed in Boston, would be my go-to weekend breakfast. The biscuit egg sandwich is to die for. I could eat this everyday.

Other favorites: savory oatmeal (wow!), toast with peanut butter and bananas. The pastries all look incredible, I will be back!

This cafe is one of the most unique ones I've encountered. With all sorts of seating arrangements and a uniquely organized space, A Baked Joint successfully delivers itself as a jack of all trades. I was able to sample both their coffee and a few breakfast/lunch items, and it did not disappoint despite being pretty affordable. The items offered are classic dining fares and come out nice and fresh, and the lack of necessity for a waiter is nice and keeps the price down. My only qualm would be that orders are called aloud when done, which can be hard to hear if one sits far away. A pager mechanism for customers would be the best, but this is not so much of an issue. I definitely see why this is a favorite spot for locals.

This place is dope. The coffee bar is massive and they have amazing coffees and teas. Their biscuits are SO good, as well as their granola and the cinnamon roll is great too. You really can't go wrong. Great place to come hang with friends for a bustling and lively environment. The line is very long, but moves quickly and the food comes out super fast as well.

Very friendly staff and great personalized service! They were kind to me as a "first timer" not being familiar with the menu. My Dirty Chai with Almond Milk and Zucchini Bread were amazing and beautiful! Thank you!

The quiche was phenomenal! This place brings a great coffee shop vibe and adds tasty made to order items to the mix. Everything we ordered exceeded our expectations. The smoked salmon sandwich wowed, and their homemade biscuits were something to right home about.

Awesome cafe! I really enjoyed how large, roomy, and welcoming the space is. I went here for a late brunch and I came hungry. Between me and my girlfriend we got a coffee, an au lait, curry chicken salad, salmon sandwich, vegetable quiche, and yogurt all of which were great! It came in a bit pricey for all the items, but it felt totally worth it!

The space is great in meeting up with a small group of friends, to study, or to get your morning started!

They have a variety of seating types from benches, to small tables, to benches, or standing tables! They play 90s and 00's hip hop classics when I went (on a Sunday)

Awesome spot!

This is a cozy little place in Dc and has some acts that come out frequently and play inside. I came here with family to enjoy some smooth jazz and wonderful pizza, they provide water which is nice and have a nice menu if your interested in other drinks/foods. I strongly recommend and I plan to come back! In all its a nice joint to kick back and have fun with friends.

Fantastic bread that elevate their sandwiches. Desserts and tea are pretty darn good too. No Wi-Fi though, which I think is a tactic to get you on your way faster. The place gets busy during popular times, especially brunch.

I like how these guys are always fast when it comes to customer service. Plus their prices are quite affordable. One of the best coffee shops in the area. I d definitely recommend this place to everyone I know.

This place is always worth the wait. Line moves fast. The bacon biscuit with bacon, egg and cheese is a must. Food always tastes fresh. Good selection of coffees and other pastries to choose from. Prices are very reasonable. Get there early in the day to make sure they don t run out of anything.

First time coming to this one but I had gone to the sister bakery and cafe in Georgetown so I had some high expectations. They definitely surpassed them. I had a bomb BLT which I hadn't had in a really longtime and enjoyed a black ginger tea. Over all pretty good customer service and enjoyed the ambiance. I will say that the background music is a little loud good music but maybe a little too loud for me. I will try this place let again though.

I great twist on biscuits but the add ons could become a little pricey. I despise a place that charge an arm an a leg for something as common as bacon on a bacon egg and cheese biscuit that deserves more bacon than what's put in the biscuit itself. A great find but a little overrated.

A Baked Joint is a fun neighborhood bakery with wine, beer, and mixed drinks. Only on Thursdays and Fridays after 5pm, they offer up some excellent baked pizza with several creative options for toppings. On Thursday nights they show a movie, and on Fridays they have have live jazz.

I am so lucky to live in the neighborhood where A Baked Joint is located, and I am also unlucky because it is inevitably where I will spend lots of money and endless calories.

If you're looking for a delicious biscuit, sandwich, or cookie, come here. If you want a good cup of coffee, come here. Basically, if you want to live life to the fullest and eat delicious things and have an enjoyable time, come here.

I visited with my friend over the weekend and was #blessed with the good fortune to be able to try one of their weekend specialty biscuits, which was made with bacon and cheese. The Biscuit Sammie has fried egg, meat and cheese INSIDE THE BISCUIT! Which is worthy of my caps lock.

Service is super friendly and fast, and their baked good selection is always rotating.

I had the biscuit Sammie which was awesome. The best biscuit I have ever had and I was born and raised in the south! I also had the iced coffee which was very good as well. My husband and I shared a cinnamon roll which was delicious. My husband also had the smoked salmon which was also very yummy! Wish we had a Baked Joint in Orlando!

I get an egg and biscuit sandwich and a beesting EVERY time I come here. Their other sandwiches are good but the egg and biscuit is on point. Their tea selection is also pretty good but I haven't settled on a favorite. My coworker LOVES their chaider but I think it's seasonal.

In the last month, I have gone to this cafe about ten times. This place is addicting. I love their Matcha latte, the best in DC. They also have great pizza. I have also gone on a Friday when they had a live jazz band. That was super neat. The staff is super friendly as well.

Came in a few mins before 6pm and was waiting in line to order. When it was my turn, the barista said they closed (while I was waiting in line) and couldn t make it. Pretty poor way to serve customers.

Though I enjoy the food and coffee, what TOTALLY TURNS ME OFF is the lack of SANITARY use of gloves and hair nets to prepare the food. I ordered a biscuit with jam and watched while to worker prepared the order without placing gloves on her hands, nor was she wearing a net to contain her past the shoulder length hair.

As I looked at the other staff, I noticed none were wearing gloves or nets...the person working with the bread in the front, nor the person working with food in the back.

As stated, the food is good and reasonably priced, but management should pay more attention to sanitation.

Glad I came across this hidden gem. I've been working 2 blocks away for 9 months, I seriously missed out! It's quietly tucked away in the corner right near all the construction in a high-rise building. There's a small sign outside.

I got a matcha latte, which was perfect and not too sweet. Wish it was bigger, it's smaller than a Starbucks Tall. The OMG S'mores bar is seriously OMG delicious! It's the same pastry from the sister restaurant -
Baked & Wired. It's heavenly with a coat of dark chocolate, fluffy marshmallow, goey caramel layer, and crunchy graham cracker crust. Although I'm on a strict diet for my wedding, I couldn't help but devour the bar, it was that gooood (worth my weekly treat!).

I was so impressed that I came back for lunch the next day and ordered a nice big meal! The best part of the meal was a warm slice of caramelized onion and goat cheese focaccia bread. It was so fluffy with a drizzle of oil, melted perfectly in my mouth. Totally worth the carbs.

The vegan coconut curry soup, special of the day, was packed with flavor. I enjoyed the savory broth with bamboo shoots, chick peas, and eggplant. Great combination of veggies. Overall, I recommend ordering the dish but wish the broth was a bit less oily (you can see from the pics) and came with brown rice or quinoa instead of white rice.

The only thing I wouldn't order again is the #1 veggie focaccia sandwich (looked deceivingly good from the pics!). I was really looking forward to it and couldn't bring myself to even eat 1/2 of it. The sandwich was overloaded with sweet potatoes that were spilling out of the sandwich, I could barely taste the kale or other veggies. The smoked eggplant puree spread was a bit too bitter and didn't work for me. The hodgepodge of veggies and flavors was a mess and didn't quite blend together. I think the sweetness of the potato needed to offset by mushrooms and goat cheese or caramelized onions. Not even the softness of the focaccia bread could salvage the sandwich. There was something left to be desired.

The last thing on my checklist to try is the Sammie egg biscuit sandwich. Stay tuned!

My husband and I stopped by here for breakfast and we thoroughly enjoyed this very hip place. We actually walked here from our hotel for about 30 minutes through a snow storm and when we got there, the place welcomed us with a very cozy uet hip and upbeat atmosphere. The service is fantastic and the food - delecious. We especially enjoyed their herbal teas, made and served in a french press. The food was wonderful, as light or as hearty as you want (mine vs husbands choice) and the cookies was a perfect ending to an excellent breakfast. If I lived in DC, I would frequent this place

So many great options for everyone. Great environment, but probably not for getting work done. Every sandwich comes garnished with orange slices that probably aren t for eating but are very delicious.

Food is fantastic, from their delicious NC ham sandwich to all the wonderful baked goods. A good place to relax, study, or even work from home. Their drinks are quite good as well. Definitely one of the better coffee houses in the area.

We were a party of 5 visiting D.C. and like to try local specific places. This place was trendy, nice setting, mood of restaurant was great, there was even a live band. We ordered tea and bakery goods. The tea was great, bakery goods were a bit sweet, but that s of course per preference.
My biggest turn off was the service. One young cashier (wish I remembered her name) was pretty rude. I ll give it a benefit of the doubt at the fact that she s young (around 19/20 ish). I can understand as I have young employees myself. I did give her an evil stare and I think she caught on as she started smiling (pretty half heartedly), but at least she knew.
However, she was our first encounter upon arriving so it really ruined my mood. Once we sat down and she was out of sight, we enjoyed each other s company very much. I would recommend this place for a hang out spot. Just hope others have better cashiers when they arrive.

Staff are friendly, helpful and patient. very welcoming atmosphere. Overall, they have a good selection of the standard drinks and baked items. I had a latte and the veggie #1 sandwich. The sandwich ingredients were fresh and the poached eggs was a perfect medium. Nice airy open concept layout inside with big windows and tons of natural light. Lots of outdoor seating on the sidewalk/patio as well. Feels like a place people meet up for lunch, not to come study or get work done. Would come here again!

The interior is very trendy, influenced by an industrial style - I liked it a lot. My two big problems with A Baked Joint are that it doesn't have wifi and the baked goods are far too sweet. If you don't have wifi and your baked goods don't taste good and you call yourselves a BAKED joint...I don't know what to say. I want to like this place, but I just don't see myself going back.

I saw some reviews on this place, and I have to say it is overrated. The coffee was pretty bad. Macchiato and latte tasted off. But the quiche I had was actually pretty good. I would consider going back for it if there wasn't a line. I found it hard to believe that there was a line at all for the way the coffee tasted.

My new favorite place to hang out in DC ! This was another one of my husband s find. A friend of his recently came to visit from Nepal and he wanted her to experience DC. This restaurant to me brings together everything that I love about DC so much. You walk into- what looks like a large store front on the ground floor with large glass windows and no nonsense outdoor seating.
For 11 am Sunday morning, the line around the counter was stretched across the width of the restaurant. A large space with open counter for bakeries and stacked goods and coffee machined was installed on one side of the enormous space. The other side was fitted with chairs and tables of all shapes and sizes.
Long and thin stand up tables, where you can stand and finish your coffee or meal if you are short on time; large sold wooden communal tables where people of all shapes and sizes were eating together; and small and round chairs and tables scattered behind. There were what looked like indoor stadium type wooden planks where I saw one or two person stretched out with their laptops.
A few steps up and there is a cozy seating available with two large plush sofas and several large comfortable settees organized around each other. We quickly grabbed the large plush white sofa- for a 16 month old this was probably the most comfortable seating space one can find in DC.
Amazing no reservation required- first come first serve basis. We sat there for close to two hours and no one came to push us out. We made space for other large groups as they milled in and out. You have to order at the counter and pick up your food at the counter. I saw several cute and homely wooden trays and round wooden platters being passed around.
My husband picked up our food in several small plates of white with blue border. There was a quiche, a biscuit with egg, savory oatmeal, and yogurt with fruit and Granola. And two large cups of beautifully prepared latte and one glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. The food was fresh, rich, and creamy. We savored every last bite of it. Later, I saw some other dishes that I have noted for the next round of brunch here. A large plate of waffle piled with bacon and fruits and bread with all toppings that you can imagine.

Good food and coffee. The line was very long on a rainy Sunday morning but it moves fast. The place is nice and open but lacking comfortable seating. The cinnamon bun was the best part of the meal.

If you don't try anything else order a Smurfette cookie. It's two lemon cookies with a berry filling and so soft and delicious I just had to order another for home. The open faced salmon sandwich was also a hit. Plus, the young man who took our order was extremely patient in answering all of our questions. I will definitely recommend this place to friends and out of town guests who want a tasty treat without a lot of fuss. Beware, options become limited the later you arrive in the day.

What can I say about this place? Absolutely love it. Their coffees are sourced from top grades, freshly roasted, expertly prepared.
Their tea choices especially the green ones are outstanding.
That's just the beginning since their food menu is comprehensive. They are master bakers and everything out of their ovens superb. The crown jewel is the Biscuit Sammy sandwich (top rated in national mags). Their open faced toasts, veggie & meatloaf sandwiches all great.
The staff outstanding and the space vast but cozy at the same time with plenty of outdoors seating.
This place is a winner in the nation's capital.

Laid bake, great staff, great food. Perfect for anytime of day. Good place to catch up with friends, bring your laptop and work, really anything. Outdoor seating also available which is always a plus.
