Called after a miss on Sunday delivery. Credited f...

Called after a miss on Sunday delivery. Credited for first time according to computer. Called two weeks later for another Sunday miss. Talked to an actual representative. Told them this was the second time in 3 weeks. I carried a route as a young child. Told them I was to count after drop off to validate number on bundle so I could call immediately if I was short. Representative offered a delivery by the carrier today. It's noon. Still no paper.

It's now 3 o clock. Still, no paper. I would like to cancel subscription.

Update: NEVER GOT A PAPER ON SUNDAY. IS THIS HOW A BUSINESS RECOUPS THEIR LOSSES?

Update: paper missed again on 4/26. Anna said paper would be delivered today. This was the second call today. No paper was ever delivered today.

Update 4/27. Spoke to Rob- specialist in accounts. Today is Monday...somebody delivered a Sunday paper today. Would like things to change. This is the 3rd time in 2 months. Us seniors are trying to avoid going out...covid19...
UPDATE 7/5/20 No paper again today. called to get a paper delivered. No guarantee when the paper will be delivered....Austin said "as soon as possible"...

Heads up! Paper was delivered by 9:50. This is swell, guys at circulation. Thank you!

Reading Eagle resolved the missed issues. Hoping the good service continues!

A few months ago I requested my Sunday Paper canceled once it reached its expiration date. After 35 minutes of being placed on hold, getting transferred to several service reps, and then a high pressure sales pitch they told me my subscription would be done 8/15/20. On 8/23/20 I get another paper. I call today its the same. I call at 7am, I get a customer service rep . I tell him my story, he tells me my subscription was renewed up until October. I told him I want it canceled immediately. he asks me why I want to cancel. I told him this is exactly why. I again get transferred and placed on hold. I get the next guy . I tell him I don't want to hear anything else but the subscription is cancelled and the remaining balance will be returned . This is where his phone starts getting bad. (I am on a land line so I know the problem is on his side). So after 5 minutes of dealing with this, I get him to say my paper has been canceled. I get the news paper is a dyeing media and they are loosing sales but this is no way to treat subscribers. After this , I am defiantly not getting another subscription let alone another paper from the gas station.

Wow. Do you do any research before printing an art...

Wow. Do you do any research before printing an article or follow up with any leads.? Where is the inspiration of a real reporter to really portray the truth and not what the police or district attorney tells you to publish. We realize to get stories you have to buddy up to the police but what happen to spreading the truth instead of the gov or police version of the truth. Why even write a paper if you re just always repeating what someone told to you instead of finding the truth. As a paper we rely on you to uphold the ethical truth of the matter not your opinion or bull.... made up versions of the truth. It s really sad that you are told a story as a paper and just publish it without confirming almost any facts .Are you here as a story teller or a soothsayer? We all get to laugh at the sad employees of the fake reading Eagle paper. Get a real job it would at least be more respectable than misleading the berk county community. You should feel ashamed of the sad amount of research done before printing articles. Not sure what s worse? channel 69 news or the reading Eagle paper. Maybe if you pay better then we can get better employees at both locations

Had subscription service until this summer when I asked for a paper tube to get paper off ground to keep dry. Got the tube in 2 days. Paper guy couldn't put the paper in tube - called 3 times but still couldn't put in tube. Finally canceled paper delivery. Gave them another chance in November end with a subscription for just the Sunday paper. Got the 1st paper on Nov 26 and the invoice not long after. Then no delivery for the next 2 Sundays. When I asked where was my paper - I was told I hadn't paid. I was given less than a week from receipt of invoice to pay before they cut me off. Poor operation. Terribly cash poor company I guess. Numb customer service. As an aside, paper seems to get smaller every month. Finally, over a year ago they automatically charged my Mastercard for internet access WITHOUT my consent. Wasn't that a special moment when I see the charge show up on my monthly statement. Be afraid if you give out a charge card.

My wife, Cindy, and I are long-time subscribers. Until new ownership took over this past summer, the Reading Eagle was an exceptional local newspaper - one of the best small market papers anywhere in the country in my opinion. Under new ownership, however, things have changed, and not for the better. Sadly, our local paper has deteriorated rapidly. The paper contains less than half the content from a year ago, some days only having two sections when it used to contain four or five. As a real kick in the teeth, though, the new owners have doubled the price and gouged loyal subscribers with their new outrageous subscription rates. The daily newsstand rate also increased from $1 to $2 within the past week. Outstanding local journalists were let go and much of the previous content has disappeared. The Sports section is a shell of what it once was, both in size and content, the Weekend section no longer emphasizes many of our local Berks County events, the Berks and Beyond section contains significantly less local news, and many editorial columns and other content have been eliminated or greatly reduced. Last but not least, the Reading Eagle is abandoning, and clearly does not appreciate, its long-time subscribers that keep it in business. In September, 2019 I paid $78 for one year of Saturday/Sunday home delivery and daily online access. My subscription was to run from October 5, 2019 through October 4, 2020. Customer service somehow messed up my subscription and is incorrectly telling me that it expires on June 20, 2020 instead of October 4, 2020. As of today, February 5, 2020, after well more than a dozen phone calls over the past four months, they still have not corrected THEIR blatantly obvious mistake. What a wonderful business model! Buyout a financially struggling local paper, lay off many of your long-time, local journalists and other employees, reduce the content by half while doubling the price, and, finally, put the shaft to your few remaining loyal customers, such as myself, through incompetency, dishonesty, or both. Not only have you already probably lost countless subscribers, but also, do you really believe you will actually pick up any new subscribers or readers through these types of actions? How do you even plan to stay in business, or do you even care? Maybe you'll just run the business into the ground and then declare bankruptcy after there is nothing left. My horrendous subscription experience would NEVER have happened under old ownership. That, I can assure you! One simple phone call would have remedied the problem, which would have been highly unlikely to have even occurred in the first place. Hopefully, someone with the power to correct the issue reads my comments and actually cares enough to properly address my concerns. More likely, though, is that the Reading Eagle will see my post and red flag it to have it removed, thus squelching my 1st Amendment rights. How ironic that would be! If the Reading Eagle cannot fix a simple problem like this after four months and over a dozen phone calls, they don't deserve to stay in business. If you want to keep me as a customer, then fix YOUR mistake; honor the subscription terms that were agreed upon when I paid you $78 in September, and, one more thing - provide me with a free one-year complimentary subscription for all of the aggravation you put me through and for all of my valuable time I have wasted calling and trying to fix YOUR mistake. I don't think it's too much to ask; however, based upon my experience thus far, I certainly won't be holding my breath.

I just got word that Tom said that both of my parents should get hit by a car and that they are assholes. My parents weren t assholes when they were delivering your papers to their customers and barely took a day off. I guess some of you have to physically get from behind the desk and do some actual work. Too bad you can t sit and socialize about everything and everyone. I found that really rude, but they weren t assholes when they were delivering your paper. Back in 2016, my dad and I were in a bad car accident, which led up to go to the hospital and Tom said about us doing the papers, but we didn t have another car since it was in the garage. When I called him and told him I was in an accident he said it was his day off and I told him that we were both on our way to the hospital. Next, my dad has heart conditions, and the one day my dad got life flighted to the hospital and I texted Tom at the time and told him that I would be doing my route and not the other one was doing, so he said that was ok. Next thing he calls me threatening to take my route off me, even though I let him know hours before doing the route. I found this very inconsiderate and rude. I called and went over Tom s head and then he decided to call me back and leave a nasty voicemail and when I called back he apologized. Maybe if you would treat your carriers and customers right, maybe you will be able to keep people. If you show some respect to your people, they ll show you respect back. It s just that simple. Have a lovely day.

Your delivery drivers need to get rid of that yellow strobe light, I'm trying to sleep and here's a flashing light in my window at 5 am. Thanks...... It's not needed at all, Philadelphia inquire drivers don't need them and the papers get delivered just fine.
I also watched the driver pull in a driveway and turn around, they are not allowed on anyone's driveways at all! At least have the courtesy to turn off the flashing light while you are in someone's driveway when you shouldn't be.

If I could put a minus star I would. The crossword puzzle is so small you need a magnifying glass to read the clues , if they re all printed. Plus now there is a crease in the paper every day or ink stripe so you can t read it. The sports section is a joke. Everything is incomplete and you have to go online the next day to get the results. WHY BOTHER having a paper. We have enjoyed this paper for many years, but we will discontinue our subscription when my paid subscription ends.

Was asked to do a video interview about Voices, one of the paper's former publication inserts written by young people. The paper's management team had to discontinue publishing it for economic reasons and are assessing the feasibility and value of bringing it back. Our paper is exceptional as are the men and women who staff it!
