I had the smoked salmon open face sandwich. The food and service was great!
I had the smoked salmon open face sandwich. The food and service was great!
Perfectly baked breads, biscuits, and pastries makes this one of my favorite breakfast joints in the neighborhood! They also offer a huge coffee and tea selection which go beyond your standard coffee shop options. My favorite things to get are the goat cheese & herb biscuit with tomato and a strip of whatever foccacia they've got bakes that day. There is plenty of seating, but weekend mornings are always busy so prepare to have to sit outside or take it to go.
Discovered this place in town while on a weekend getaway. Breakfast sammies are so yummy and the creme brulee french toast was awesome. Husband liked his latte's and I loved the white lavender tea.
I have frequented this place and tried a large portion of their menu. Great for coffee and tea. Breakfast options include savory or traditionally prepared oatmeal (both solid choices). My favorite is the biscuit sammie with egg and a tomato slice. They feature a non-meat and meat option on the house made biscuits. Good variety of baked sweets, from the small craving fix (bienenstich), to the indulgent brownies. Gets very busy on weekend mornings.
A hip little "joint" with a warm neighborhood feel and comfort food & beverages
This place was recommended by our Airbnb owner, it was a great place to eat.
Great, fresh food and chill atmosphere. Nice spot for lunch, pretty hectic in the morning.
I loved the place, and their food. Unfortunately, I did not get to enjoy their coffee because of the bad customer service. I ordered a machiato but asked for it to be served in a bigger mug, so I can add some extra milk to it. The barista poured the machiato into a togo mug and filled it up with too much milk without even asking me how much I wanted. She was so mad at me and told me that I should order a latte if I wanted milk. I hated the coffee with so much milk in it, but dint wanna deal with her or the hassle of reordering.
Great spacious bakery. Good place to hangout. Though it does get crowded on Sunday mornings.
Best spot in the neighborhood for breakfast and pizza on Fridays
I found myself in this part of town today and I am a huge fan of Baked and Wired, so I thought I'd give this place a shot. I was incredibly impressed. The space is fantastic and has a great vibe to it. I had the NC Ham and it was an awesome sandwich. It came out quickly as well which was a great thing considering I was in a bit of a hurry. They have a few beers on tap and some assorted other alcoholic drinks if that tickles your fancy. Will certainly be coming back here.
Jazz Night is one of our go-to activities when we're looking for something to do on. Friday night. Best pizza in the city (that Pizza Hut pizza you always loved but way less greasy) and the music is always good. Pro tip: the music can be kind of loud so find a seat a little farther back.
Decently priced for the quality of food. The inside is well decorated with ample, open seating
High quality of food and drinks
Love this place, especially for its brunch/breakfast
There s often a long line and one has to fight for a place though.
Hipster AF. Exposed cement and steel appliances. Somewhere you can hear Anthony Bourdain groaning about the tattooed baristas and wifi-less weekend customers.
I've lived in DC for 4 years and this is still my *treat yourself* breakfast option. Unmatched quality, great environment, great location.
If you've never been you must go! Very modern digs with amazing food and friendly staff.
Place was extremely busy (expected for a weekend) but was worth the wait. Food was delicious and the baked goods are even better!
Awesome place to hangout, grab a coffee and pastry. Does get pretty crowded on weekends though.
Dine in experience is always great. Many desert options, coffee is good too.
My partner and I ate here for a late breakfast on a Saturday. The line was kind of long, but it moved fairly quickly, and we were able to grab a private table without issue. My partner loved her smoked salmon baguette, especially the baguette. I enjoyed my "biscuit sammie," which had sausage baked into the bread, and came with a fried egg and and a very small amount of mayo. The bread/biscuit was very good, and I probably would have been happy with just the biscuit that we also got to split. I also had an "OMG" bar, which was like a deluxe snow, and it was fantastic. It was easily sliced with a fork or knife, which made for easy sharing. My drip coffee was delicious, and my partner's oat milk latte was very solid, although she prefers them at Zeke's. We got some more sweets on our way out, which were also fantastic. Some kind of coffee buttercream cookie sandwich and something else... They didn't make it to the car.
Will definitely return again, as we have to try the French toast. Employees were very cheerful and helpful, inside was very clean.
Amazing Food and Atmosphere. The Matcha Latte is smooth and the NC Ham sandwich is delicious. I will have to go back next time I'm in DC.
Im a regular costumer and they have the best dirty chai in DC and super friendly and professional staff
Breakfast menu very limited, but very tasty. Coffee is terrible for my taste.
The few complaints are the line/wait for food, no internet, and the price of their coffee, but with that aside, let's talk about the good stuff!
They bake their own bread (creme brulle French toast is fantastic), and that makes everything that much more delicious. You can choose from various sandwiches/breakfast spin- off items, and they also have decent coffee (but I'd walk down the road to Compass if you're visiting from out of town).
My wife and I stopped here for breakfast on vacation and it was so amazing we came back 2 days later.
I had the savory biscuit sandwich and she had the oatmeal.
Love the atmosphere and music.
I highly recommend this spot
The salmon toast was flavorful, and the veggie quiche was light and delicious. There weren't many coffee choices and seating was limited in the morning. Chill urban atmosphere.
Very good and fun selection of breakfast and lunch/dinner options. The pastries are phenomenal, and the salads are innovative and delicious. The atmosphere is modern but organic and cozy, and the prices are extremely reasonable.
This was my second visit. The first time I regretted not getting a second biscuit Sammie (herb & cheese). They're delicious! This time I ordered the turmeric & ginger tea, my daughters got Thai iced tea latte & lemonade. The turmeric & ginger can be an acquired taste, but it's refreshing and good for you.
Delicious food, friendly service. not a DC native but this place makes me wish I was.
I ate the bread here every morning for the duration of my stay in DC. Fresh, crisp, and fragrant. Pictured is Cinnamon Raisin (my fav) with almond butter!!
I love this cafe, especially for breakfast. Delicious French toast. Also have great pizza a few nights a week
One of the worst places I have been.....sticky table..poor service ###NOTHANKS
First of all we must be clear: I. Love.
Baked and wired. Love. So I was fully expecting to love their sister restaurant and maybe I still will! But we went on a Thursday night for some baked goods after dinner and were dismayed to find that there.... wasn't really anything exciting in the display cases.
The pumpkin bread was good
The s'mores bar was good
But nothing super creative was left on the menu.
I'm hopeful that we just went at the wrong time so 3 stars until we go again!
Overall atmosphere was great, volume level was loud, the entire space was very cute and not too cramped. It looks like they do a lot of events multiple days of the week - the day we went was a movie night.
Self serve water & counter ordering - you take your used dining ware to a bin next to the trash.
Super delicious breakfast biscuts with rotating flavors!
Ordered the ham & cheese quiche and the burrata & tomato salad with the Hibiscus ice tea. It s the second time I order the quiche and it s really good!!! The baguete is fresh and really good as well, but normally it s gone super fast... I normally order online to reserve the baguete. The arugula & prosciutto pizza is really good too as well as the Jam and Butter Toast. If you want something sweet, should try the Plain Jane Brownie!!!
I had the coconut curry soup with a chunk of baguette and a gf chocolate espresso Sammie, my friend had the blt with egg. Everything was delicious and fresh, will definitely be going back.
Excellent food! A little pricey, but well worth it. Wi-Fi is available too.
The biscuit sammie was good. I had the goat cheese herb biscuit with a cappuccino and the coffee really was the highlight. I would reccomend just getting a biscuit with jam and a coffee. The egg doesnt really add a lot.
Amazing selection of brunch and coffee choices! Honestly some of the best bread that I've ever had and it has a really nice atmosphere.
The Sammies here we're pretty great - very tasty biscuits. Easy to get to and the coffee itself was delicious.
This is my go-to neighborhood spot, with some of the best coffee and baked goods in town.
Great place for breakfast and coffee! Highly recommend the ham and egg bolillo and vanilla latte. Line gets long but moves super quick!
Just coming back here for Chai Latte & nutella toast...perfect combi for breakfast. Friendly staff. Recommended.
We had Sunday breakfast at 10 am. There was a huge line which intrigued me. I grabbed a table and my daughter waited in the quickly moving line. We wanted to try as much as we could but knew we wouldn t get in line twice; hence we More
Perfect for a family outing on a warmer winter day. Lots of dessert options.
We ate egg cakes, wheat husks and smoked salmon toast, all very good taste, awesome!
One of my favorites. Amazing baked goods, great food, plus beer wine and coffee: It's pretty much perfect at any time of day. Selection is not as good as at Baked and Wired and no wifi (though I understand their reasons).
Great cake by the slice, makes for a sweet afternoon snack.
Omg!! The curry chicken salad sandwich are amazing!!
Great place, coffee was so smooth and creamy. I tried the savory biscuit with fried egg and mayo. It was good but needed more protein. I also tried the lemon almond bark, it was fantastic.
A Baked Joint has stolen my heart! It is my new favorite coffee place in DC! It is the sister restaurant of Baked & Wired, my preferred DC cupcake place. They don't have cupcakes here, but they have other delicious sweets and a full menu of drinks and breakfast/lunch sandwiches.
No matter what time you show up here, get the Biscuit Sammie! It is the best breakfast sandwich I've had in recent memory. You may think it's just a bacon, fried egg, and cheese sandwich, but no, that biscuit is just oh so good! The biscuit has herb seasoning on it, making the entire sandwich taste like heaven! I scarfed it down in seconds and was ready for another.
The matcha latte and mocha are both great. Plus, it comes with cool latte art!
A Baked Joint has a very Cali hipster vibe to it, but I like it. Unlike Baked & Wired, this place is pretty big, but still a little difficult to get a table. I've only been here during the weekends and it's packed. The line can be super long, but goes by pretty fast.
Quality staff, excellent bread and baked items (I cave for the $1 focaccia every time), really fantastic and classy tea selection, beautiful espresso pulled by people who know what they're doing, and a cozy location. It has a nice happy hour, and even during busy times, never seems as bananas as Busboys and Poets up the corner. There's terrible reception there and no wifi, but just make plans with friends you're meeting before or go outside to get a signal.
One of my favorite cafes in DC.
The coffee here is great, whether it's nitro cold brew, specialty pour-over, espresso, or regular drip. When my SO moved to a building nearby, I knew I'd be here all the time. The food is excellent too, and I've never had anything but positive interactions with the staff. I'll be a regular for a long time.
Favorite, pet friendly, restaurant (and omg that breakfast) in all DC.
One of our favorite breakfast spots in all of DC. Get here early to get quick service but the wait is worth it.
Literally the best breakfast in DC. The meat and cheese biscuit sandwich was insane, and even with a line out the door, service was amazing.
Yo!!!!!! Wow, you know coming from a kid that has spent a lot of life in detroit, the pizza here is worth spending a night dreaming about. Love how it s cut, perfect for a date night pizza with the ol lady or slamming fighting over slices with the homies(Recommend getting more than one) Make drive downtown after 5 and grab one, tell em Tev sent you.
Don't miss this little hidden gem. Fantastic healthy lunch and breakfast spot. Great great great coffee. Very hip, place.
Amazing. I had a breakfast sandwich made on a biscuit and an amazing cup of tea. The food was so good, and the rest looked so good that I bought a desert and another drink on my way out.
The shop is quite nice and there are great places to sit and enjoy.
I walked 10 minutes just to try this place and was not disappointed. Would have walked much further.
A must-go for breakfast every time I visit Washington DC. Baked & Wired's sister restaurant. Baguette with oatmeal and salmon is our family's official menu. The home you should go to once you come to DC. Best recommended.
What a fantastic coffee and small bites spot! Food is better than it looks and staff is amazing!
Great space with great coffee. A delicious selection of breakfast sandwiches and pastries. Look forward to going back to try their daily menu of pour over coffees.
Best biscuit sandwiches in DC! Part of a really great bakery group in DC that has a Georgetown location (Baked & Wired)!
Visited DC from Philly this past weekend and Googled top breakfast places and this came up./ So happy we decided to go. Breakfast was SO good and the pumpkin bread was delicious. Coffee was amazing. Highly recommend.
Perfect name for a combo pastry + dispensary, but alas, it's actually just a great place to hang out and get a nice sandwich and some coffee. Surprisingly hearty food options for a place that would otherwise make you think it's got a third wave coffee focus. Limited wifi, but nice seating and really open space which makes it amenable for meetings and conversations b/c the noise can spread around the space more.
Great quiches and breakfast food. Slightly limited menu for my tastes.
Incredible desserts, an abundant tea menu, and perfectly crafted coffee. Count me in!
This is what you want. Goat cheese and rosemary biscuit, with lovingly seasoned and perfectly fried eggs and I added bacon that any pig would have been proud of contributing to this sandwich, the sort of breakfast once reserved only for the rich and powerful. Another thing: this place is a well oiled machine. See a line when you arrive? Scoff at that line! It moves so quickly, you won t even have time for your AM Instagram likes...
This place is a neighborhood gem! Great food, good music, wonderful environment. It can get super busy. The back area is wonderful for reading/work/writing/study.
Plenty of seating and a great atmosphere. I'd recommend trying the biscuits, and going on Thursday or Friday nights when they have jazz and pizza.
It is crowded after 8pm, but it is clean and the staff are very friendly.
Average salmon & croissant. The coffee is very good.
Food is great, vibe is great. Coffee is mediocre (we got the iced coffee). The busboy dropped a dirty knife from the table next to us literally on top of me in between my John Varvatos hoodie and All Saints leather jacket. More than mildly annoyed. Otherwise food is good and vibe is great.
We tried two different quiches, an egg biscuit sandwich and a cinnamon roll. To drink we had fresh oj, nitro cold brew and a dirty chai. Everything was on point!
