Jeff Gurley and the 1st Family team did a fantastic job of making the process as easy as possible. If and when I have financial needs inthe future, this is where I will go.

Easiest refi I have ever done. Everything went smooth and easy. Conrad's team handled everything. I didn't have to even leave my house to sign the closings dox. I snagged an interest rate in the 2's, saved 70k over the life of the loan vs. my last mortgage, and was able to go down to a 25 year term. I highly recommend 1st family mortgage. All of the hours I spent listening to Conrad's podcasts really paid off.

My husband contacted 1FMC after hearing the radio ads and we had the pleasure of working with Megan Bissell out of Athens to refinance our home. She saved us $200 a month off our mortgage payment. He looked at all the options for us and kept us informed all the way through the process. He was quick to answer any questions we had and if he didn't know, he would find out and let us know as soon as he found out. Because of some emergency-type financial difficulties, we ended up with 2 very high interest credit cards, and a real need to replace the 58-year old windows on our house. He told me what to bring to our meeting. When I arrived, he went to work on the figures he needed to show me. He explained things and answered all my questions. I would not recommend this company to anyone. The first gentleman I talked to was very nice but wasn't thorough and didn't seem to know how to explain. The lady (mortgage specialist ?) that called back later to discuss home loan was the most rude and disrespectful person I've ever dealt with. I would never talk to a human being the way she talked to me. I don't need to name her because she knows who she is. I'll pray for you.
Don't believe any of their ads, radio ads or commercials, it's all fake.

I have used 1FMC twice now. Both times they have been very helpful and easy to work with. They readily answered any questions I had and explained everything in a down to earth manner. I was very pleased with the service I got from Simon and Kayla and would recommend them to anyone who was looking to buy or re-finance a home. Each time I have saved money on my monthly mortgage and lowered my interest rate. First Class people and service!

We've used 1st Family twice now. Wenjust refinanced and it was super easy and saved us $150 a month!

My husband and I have a unique refi situation... which most people do these days. We didnt hide that from them. Our first appt with them didnt go well. Felt like we wasted our time. The guy insulted my husband making a joke about him being injured while in the Army. We eventually asked to have our application given to another person there. From the start it didnt go well. I asked that they speak with me and not bother my husband at work. She initially called him. It was one thing after another and took 2 months for them to finally admit they couldnt help us. I asked to speak with a manager. Boss. Owner. Something. Anything and no one ever called to speak with me. I wouldnt reccomend them to anyone.

Everything as advertised! Very personable and relatable employees who went out of their way to make sure you understood and were comfortable every step of the way!

Megan Bissell in Athens, AL was our mortgage adviser. We are from south Huntsville and she was able to help us from Athens. She did her very best to save us time and money on our mortgage. We have now cut off years off our loan with no increase in cost per month and got a check back from them. We also were able to close in Huntsville near our home. I would definitely use Megan again if I am to refinance or buy a new house.

I had just an ok experience refinancing a couple years ago, and I thought I would try a different company this time around. 1FMC was quick, thorough and extremely accessible through the whole process. From the first time I called until my closing day, the process only took two weeks. I can t say enough good things about 1FMC. If I need to refinance again or get a new mortgage, they are my go to company from now on.

Jim Kelly did a great job getting us refinanced. He explained our options and was very knowledgeable. We lowered our interest by over 2.5 points and reduced our term from approximately 26 years remaining to 15 years. Very easy process! Being able to do everything online and communicate by text and email was convenient with my schedule. I was able to reduce my rate and save 7 yrs of payments. Derek was great to work with! He was always available for questions and got back to me quickly. He even hooked me up with Brian at Goosehead Insurance. Brian was great! Great place to save money on refi and best rate mortgages!

Refinanced our home into a FHA Streamline with FFM. Matt Braye did an excellent job presenting us options and helping us to find the best option for us. Not only did we lower our interest rate by half, we also dropped our payment significantly.

If you are buying or refinancing, call FFM first and be sure and ask for Matt. He will take great care of you!

I have been wanting to refinance my house for a few years now and didn't know how to go about doing that. I heard the ads on the radio and seen the commercials on TV and decided to call. I talked to Kayla McNatt and she helped me with everything I needed. Kept me informed on what was going on all the way to the end. I payed off a student loan that was taking forever to pay off and cut 5 years off my loan.

Stay away! I was looking at buying my 1st house for me and my family. Granted 1fmc was very polite and I thought they had my best interest in heart. But towards closing I found out that the advice that they gave me was not only bank fraud and illegal, but also I could lose everything. When I asked them about this and asked if maybe I misunderstood something they ignored me and wouldn't get back in touch with me. So needless to say I won't ever think about talking to them again.

I contacted 1st Family Mortgage to move from a 30-year loan with 27 years of payments remaining to a 15-year loan. All of my questions were answered promptly, and communication was top notch. My expectations for all aspects of the process were not only met but exceeded.

Very high in closing fee costs. Do not go with 1st Family without shopping around and comparing Good Faith Estimates. It was my first time buying a house and nearly paid $4,000 more in closing fees than with another mortgage company.

The refi process with Derek was SO easy and hassle-free! 90% of it was handled via email or txt and the only complications were due to the number of other loans they were handling due to the historic low rates. 1st Family has helped me save nearly $100k on my mortgage and allowed me too pay off numerous other credit cards which who knows how much that will have saved me in the long-run!

We used 1st family for a refi and Brian Lucas was our loan officer. It was very easy and they worked around MY schedule. Came in on a Saturday to get it started and only took about 10 minutes to close when the day came. He made sure I knew everything I needed to get started. He even got us a lower rate than what was first told to us. Will use again when we sell and move to a bigger house.

Although this process took a little longer that I expected, it was well worth the wait. Diane and Simon were very knowledgable and eager to lead us through the process. We refinanced our house and were able to pay off some debt at the same time! Derek worked with with us through every step of the process and really went out of his way to make things happen. Jim Kelley at the 1st Family Mortgage Franklin, TN, office not only quickly and efficiently helped me refinance my house, but he has always been available when I have had questions regarding my new mortgage since the refinance. He has been very helpful and has resolved every issue I have presented him. And he's done it with kindness.

Lets start from the beginning. I first contacted David Digesu on 2/13/2020 inquiring about a 15 year refi and on or around 3/3/2020 we formally began the process. Then from 3/13/2020 to 4/5/2020 we did not receive any communication or status update from David or 1FMC, despite our multiple emails and phone calls to both David s cell and the 1FMC office. During this time gap, on 3/27/2020, Sean Hollis performed our appraisal. Finally on April 5, David contacted us, apologized for going AWOL and provided the appraisal. Sean s report appraised our home at around $25K below our 2017 purchase price while acknowledging in his report that our neighborhood "is showing moderate growth with stable to increasing property values . We, of course, found Sean s appraisal unacceptable and David suggested we request a reconsideration, which we immediately agreed to do. I think David requested the reconsideration, but I really don t know because from 4/5/2020 to 5/1/2020 (26 days if you re keeping count) we did not receive any kind of real update. David s replies were more of a kick the can approach. Finally on 5/1/2020, completely frustrated, I emailed David asking for a status and stating that we either needed to move forward or cut bait and go somewhere else. On 5/6/2020, to my utter shock and disbelief, David replied that we should go to a different mortgage company because he had "tried everything he could think of". Completely incensed at this point and having already spent $500 for the appraisal, I replied to David on 5/7/2020 at 8:45am that walking away at this point was unacceptable. I asked David to send me the documentation of both the formal request for reconsideration that was filed and the formal response from AMS denying our reconsideration because I was going to file formal complaint to the Alabama Real Estate Appraisers Board. Amazingly, at 5:31pm of that same day, we received an email from Casey Brannon of 1FMC containing our new appraisal with an updated value. We then had to resign documents but finally on 5/26/2020, Casey emailed me stating that our loan was clear to close and the title company had an opening on Monday 6/1/2020 @ 3:30pm. The following evening I replied to Casey confirming that this date and time would work. On 6/1/2020 at 3:15pm we arrived at the title company s office and sat in their waiting area for over 30 minutes when the closing attorney came around the corner to tell us that we would not be closing. She had just received an email from 1FMC stating that the closing documents were not ready. Once again, David and no one from 1FMC contacted me or my wife to let us know what was going on. We had left work early that day to make the appointment 1FMC offered us and then would once again have to take off early later that week to close on Friday 6/5/2020 at 4pm. In summary, I first contacted David on 2/13/2020, on or around 3/3/2020 we formally began the process, and did not close until 6/5/2020 at no fault of our own. Depending on which start date you choose, that s between 94 and 113 days to close! That is ridiculous and unacceptable! Our entire experience with David and 1FMC was unprofessional and lacked any regard or empathy for our well-being. There's is no way I could, would or will ever refer anyone to 1FMC.

Communication was quick, easy and straight forward. Got a great rate. went from 4.5 to 2.8 saved over $100,000.00

I was extremely pleased with my experience at Save With Conrad. Jimmy was helpful every step of the way. After the initial phone call, almost everything was done through email and text which was very helpful. I would recommend Save With Conrad to anyone looking to save money. Conrad Thompson at first family constantly checked my credit while I delt with him, almost 30 times in 3 months, driving down my credit score. I found this out by opening my one credit monitoring account. He was supposed to be helping me repair MY credit, instead he was lowering my score. I was a first time home buyer, and when I questioned he about it he denied it although I could clearly see on life lock that every time I called him , he would so a hard pull on my credit and my score would drop a few points. The lender I work with after him, would do a soft pulland, not affect my score. I since been informed that the lower score a lender can get approved the bigger their bonus. :-(

When rates dipped low, I decided it was time to start looking for a house. By mistake, I called a finance company other than 1FMC to get the ball rolling for a pre-approval. This other finance company would take days to return my calls which made me believe if they will not help me on a pre-approval, then they sure will not help when I actually have a loan.
I kept hearing ads on various radio stations for 1FMC so I decided to give them a call. Within a very short time, I received a call from Kayla. She was extremely friendly and helpful, just the opposite of my first loan attempt. I spoke briefly with Kayla explaining the purpose of the needed loan and she went to work. Kayla kept me informed throughout the entire process at what was going on and what I needed to do. With the help of Kayla, this was a very painless process.
From my experience, don't waste your time calling other finance companies. Call 1FMC now!

Jimmy was an absolute delight to work with. We purchased our home thru 1st Family in September 2018, and knew we had to come back to them for the refinancing after our amazing experience the first time around. Our previous mortgage company made each step of the process difficult on the 1FMC team, but they took it in stride and made it happen. They were able to lock us in at 1.5% less than we were at, and saved us $108,000 over the life of the loan. Two experiences with 1FMC, and both were 5 stars!
