I have been trying for over a month to obtain records. I call for 8 or 9 days there is no answer. They can't find my records. Referred to supervisor. She never answers phone or returns calls. Freaking nightmare.

Judge Campbell in family Court doesn't care for Black men too much I believe. He watched a TV monitor during my testimony and paid no attention. I still won custody of my son but this guy tried to make me pay child support (i was not in arrears) even though I had custody. For the first 3+ years I received no support for my son, after going back to court I received support for the last two years of HS for him. When support was stopped due to graduation, judge Campbell tried to allow my ex to file ppw stating my son graduated a year earlier and my ex tried to sue me in small claims to get 1 yr of support refunded. The small claims judge threw it out because it was legally owed. Beware if you get this guy and you are a Black man, I would advise you petition to have him removed from your case or you will regret it horribly. Glad I won and got away from this egomaniac.

I was in and out of court for more than 5 months. Judge round was my judge.
He does not care about children involved in divorce. My children are 17 and 15, and he treated them like they were 7 and 5. He never once talked to the kids to get their views. The only thing he cared about was forcing them to goto another city for a week at a time. He was "a bully " when it came down to myself and my kids. My lawyer didn't show up due to a mis placed paper and even with my attorney office on the phone with his legal person, refused me to have court continued and made me represent myself. On another court day, the opposing council called sick and the day of court he postponed for her. Also when that day got here same day as court, I got a message saying the judge had something personal and pushed back court 2 weeks. This judge apparently had a personal issue with me and treated myself and my kids poorly for it. I recommend that judge round be evaluated for this had removed from the bench as he is very unprofessional.
Terrible. Called from another state trying to obtain civil records. Cannot even talk to a person to make my request. Automated system is a complete nightmare.
I've been in here three times to pay property taxes. Always been ill-prepared because reasons. Every time, they have sat down with me and let me email them things, show them photo copies, call other gov. offices etc. to help me do what I came to do. Each time they take an extra 20 minutes just so I don't have to make a second trip. Never made me feel stupid for not knowing what I needed, even though I should have. Little things like not making me feel like a moron, go a long way in a government building. That's just been my experience.
How do people even get a job here. The clerks can t even answer a single question that you ask and they sound like they don t know what they re talking about. they either put you on hold and hang up in your face, transfer you to different departments that doesn t have anything to do with what you want or transfer you to a line that rings forever. Complete waste of my time. I ve been dealing with a civil matter to where someone owes me money and I can t even get information on what s going on with my case. So irritating I have a real busy schedule and don t have time to be traveling downtown wasting gas, dealing with traffic, pedestrians and parking meters just to get answered one question that could be answered over the phone. This place needs to DO BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's better than the last time I was here when they prosecuted you for being there.
I've been calling their office for over an hour and all the phone does is ring and ring and ring. Does anyone work in the office anymore and why don't you bring back the operator to help people instead of this prompting method that doesn't work at all..... Very disappointed for real!
The department of Civil Process hired the most incompetent human being you have ever seen as its director. Her name is Jonni Wright, and every taxpayer in Jackson County should be thrilled she is gone. She wasted at least a million dollars of your money, taxpayers. She hired a guy named Jack Foster that:
1) The county purchased a brand new car for him to spend half of his time in the field (which never happened)
2) He received a car allowance (fraud) from the county that was treated as income...would love to see these tax returns.
3) Because of director Wright's incompetence, the department (county court) was sued at least a half dozen times...losing at least 2 of these suits and getting bailed out on a few others because of immunity. The amount of money spent defending the county court, along with needing the Attorney Generals office to help, meant the amount of money lost because of Ms Wright's incompetence is well over a million dollars.
5) The county actually hired Foster as her replacement....he is clueless to many functions of the dept, as was Ms Wright.
Every taxpayer in Jackson County MO should be outraged at all of this. I did not even go into the hiring process that let Ms Wright screw the taxpayers, but a few emails between her boss that hired her (Jeff Eisenbeis who was sued and is now gone) tell the story. A few "sexual innuendos" were discovered at trial.
Now we get to the current assistant court administrator Tracy Smedley. This person LIED on 17 pages of a deposition she gave relating to all of these lawsuits, with no consequence whatsoever.
1) How did she keep her job?
2) How was she not disbarred?
Now before you say how do I know she lied? She admitted it on the stand!!!!!!!
Unfortunately, there is much, much more I cannot disclose at this time.
The judge is always 45 minutes to an hour late. It would be helpful if the time for court to start was the ACTUAL time that it starts.
The entire place is a joke. I've called at least 20 times over the last week, and NO ONE has picked up. Nothing but lazy people working there. They don't care about anything but a paycheck. Not to mention I've called MANY times over the last year, because of my job, and I still have yet to actually talk to someone. EVERYONE let's it go to voicemail. Pretty pathetic.
Incompetent and crooked officials in this office. Not helpful and tries to pass blame on anyone else but their office. Almost impossible to reach by phone.
Stopped by to look around when bored. Security was nice.
Tried to call about the status of a court date and after FINALLY getting a hold of someone she answered the phone while talking with someone else THEN addressed me and asked if I had the case # and when I didn't have it promptly ready she just hung up on me instead of giving me 2 more seconds.
We are very fortunate in Jackson County to have well educated judges that know the law and apply it with an even hand. There is always risk in any litigation after all there are generally at least two parties and one side is going to walk away unhappy. That is why oftentimes litigants are better served by resolving their means through mediation the listening to the guidance of their lawyers.
The court staff do an amazing job processing an overabundance of cases and do so with professionalism and grace.
The security guards will steal from you. They did it to me.
That's karma about the courthouse . It's now almost as broken as their justice system . They treated my case like a complete joke . All lawyers and judge was late for almost every court date . Though if you were the one to show up late that would be frowned upon . I'm glad something came back to bite you people in the romp after how you have treated many in your courtrooms.
This Court, is corrupt, from top to bottom. You ve seen it in the news between the jail, the Sheriff, county commissioner, mike Sanders, etc. the court is no exception at all.
Fraud, waste, and abuse are normal practices. Specifically, the Civil Process Dept. jonni Wright, is dangerously inept, Jack Foster is a coward, who fascilitates placing Deputies in danger. If you bring up concerns, you will be mercilessly attacked, harassed and retaliated against. They have been sued many times for discrimination and other matters. Human Resources protects abusers. Tracy Smedley, purgered on the stand, as well as Jonni Wright and still has a job, at the people s Court. But they will run employees out who bring up egrigious safety concerns and harassment claims.
For the safety of the community, and the integrity of our legal, and Government agencies, these people must be removed and cleared out of the way.
Attorneys, Journalists, Patriots out there: Wanna know how screwed up everything is? Start at the Civil Process Department, talk to the Deputies, go from there. It goes all the way to the top.

The system here is so out of touch with their purpose. I have tried to contact the proper department with hopes of acquiring a copy of a divorce decree. I have been through the automated phone system and finally spoke to a human being, i think . I was then given a phone number that is not a working number or so it seems. The number i dialed gave a busy signal and disconnected. It is disgusting to find that a service we pay for dearly has somehow been turned into a service that is a priviledge. The employees which actually work for us, treat us as we are a nuisance. We pay the wages in these facilities and are due respect , service and the understanding that we are the reason they have employment in our system. It seems that there is an air of entitlement within our systems of govt. services throughout the ranks of these entities. We pay for and require these services to be dispatched, with prompt and courteous results.
I see why this office has a review of a 2...I called Jen at the 16th circuit court, she should not be working in the office with the public.. I called for help and Jen not only was rude but straight lied through the whole conversation till the end. After she told the truth she transfers me to her boss Danisha who hangs up on me... Why are we paying there bills.. We could go through a machine and get more help... People need help but scared to go get it because of people like this... Why doesn't the government do something about this office.. They are there for the pay check that our taxes pay...
This place is like Hell. Literally the worst. I just dealt with the bureaucracy of India for 4 months on a long term trip. This is worse...people either tell you inaccurate information, or belittle you. I watched as person after person was treated like dirt.
Try to call. Sit on hold. For over an hour. Does anyone pick up the phone there?
Only one worker in the tax office. Thirty minutes a person..
Went to the courthouse to get a statement of non-assessment for my car registration. I had to wait probably 2 hours but they did a good job of spacing everyone apart and the receptionist was very nice and patient.
I went all the way to the courthouse today to find out they were closed, the clerk should have never scheduled people to come to court on a day they knew they were closed for a holiday, and I'm sure they knew it way before today.
In my opinion Family court is nothing more than big business. My ex was with an abusive boyfriend that was on probation for domestic violence and also had a warrant for shoplifting. When I got all the police reports on their address the judge told my attorney that if I wanted to reopen the case then I needed to file a motion to modify when he hadn't even signed the divorce papers yet, which to reopen would have costed thousands more.
I have found the judges in the Sixteenth Circuit Court of Missouri to be competent, fair, courteous and interested in the judicial process. They have a difficult job that will usually result in at least one side being unhappy with the outcome. My hat is off to the Jackson County Judges I have worked with. They really are doing a great job in difficult circumstances.
I encountered poor signage at the Jackson County Courthouse in my quest for Division 62. Due to an unprecedented number of foreclosures in Kansas City, a special tribunal is in place. The Judges involved are "visiting" in an obscure courtroom designated for Division 62.
There is no record of this court room on the official directory placed at the entrance. It order to find out where the courtroom is located, one must ask a rude security agent.
I wasted about fifteen minutes in my quest with an end result of my losing my right to a fair hearing. A video has been uploaded by the American Aardvark on youtube entitled "In search of the 16th Judicial Court, Division 62.
Very rude and does not respect the first amendment.
The Sheriff's Office staff was friendly and professional, as was the court personnel; however the difficulties with locating parking was deplorable.
