I canceled the service and charged me for months and charged me more

Just a bunch of Con-Artists. They create bots to click your page so they can charge you more. I would give them less than 1 star if I could.

Scam company, will charge you and not deliver. Sales people are super pushy

Wish I could give ZERO stars. Tried writing multiple reviews for a few of my local favorites and all have been marked as not recommended. Most disturbing was my husband s review of a boat dealer following our boat purchase was marked as not recommended and when I asked Yelp why they then marked my review as not recommended ALSO!

Don t want YELP to threaten or extort $$ from small businesses any longer! I encourage others to also remove their negative Yelps going forward. Horrible practice, shame on you YELP!!!

All this company knows is Fraud and Deceit. I cancelled my services and they continue charging my credit card. STAY AWAY

Spent time doing reviews for Yelp and they just arbitrarily deleted three of them for ambiguous reasons. Poor customer service and zero transparency. I wouldn't trust their reviews, as they obviously get paid to direct traffic the right way for money.

not a good company. they routinely remove reviews and threaten businesses that don't pay for expensive advertising packages. a lot of biased and downright stupid reviewers on there. they reward people with elite badges to make them seem like credible sources but the entire website is very misleading and damaging. i hope google local guides surpasses them.

If you pay the money every month those bad reviews won t disappear but they ll go down to the bottom of your page under less recommended reviews. I have had the absolute worst experience with this company! And to top it off they allow people to write reviews to damage businesses as a matter of fact they got caught years ago doing a false yelp review on a Chinese restaurant in San Francisco!!

Please do NOT advertise with yelp.com, this is a very greedy company, their sales rep will hound you constantly for more and more money, once you stop paying them all your 5 star reviews will be not recommended, and your customers will not see your 5 star reviews they will see the negative reviews.

Yelp in my opinion is making a big mistake by having sales people desperately and aggressively cold call for new clients. I was mislead, not once, but twice...

Now, because we have multiple of offices I am receiving multiple aggressive calls, while we still are disputing a contract that Yelp did not fulfill its obligations. I wished that Yelp was actually what they preach the defender of good business practices by way of reviews but instead its the worse offender but a preacher of practices not fulfilled.

This company in Yellow Page is a fake a lie to all company doing business with them they have put in are company as high rated in google to poor service not paying for there service to them making fake accounts not with are firm to Home Depot pro high rated with the BBB with my company small in Utah state , as well as putting in fake bad rating to you as me , all is reported to FBI law in all state in the United State Of American USA to all the Business across the USA reported to business to government to your state owner Quality

Yelp is a joke. Read through the first handful of good reviews on here. They are not even meant for Yelp, they all mention another company and should be removed. Google has eaten their lunch and they should close down as no longer relevant.

I m really disappointed with Yelp. I have been a contributing member a long time and they recently removed some of my most important reviews to date for Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing, New Rez, and New Penn Financial. We are being forced out of our home by Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing just two years after the death of my wife. I have a special needs child and we have lost virtually every thing because of circumstances beyond our control. By removing my reviews, you support a corrupt, evil business bent on making American families in multiple states homeless for a fast profit. We survive on social security and have known tremendous hardship you cannot imagine. Yelp must have been paid by the business. My reviews leave a mark because they are honest and surgically accurate. You just made the wall of shame. I would go as far as to say not to trust Yelp as a feedback website if they can be paid to remove negative reviews and selectively promote certain business. That exhibits bias Yelp is not supposed to possess.

Deleted an honest and accurate negative review for an invalid reason. Claimed it want a first hand customer review when anyone reading it would see that it was. Useless platform if they don't allow honest reviews.

Terrible business. Won't allow people to review business that aren't paying for their advertising. Don't trust this company.

Yelp, you are the wild wild west. Zero honestly, the worst ad-filled website. You give companies no control over their listing (which, in a perfect world, would be ideal - full of honest reviews and such, but it is NOT), then hide their 5 star reviews, then tell businesses that you will let them control their listing for over $500/total each MONTH. You also harass companies, as I've tried to block your number constantly, but new calls are continual. This is a very messed up system. Millennials can see right through your ridiculous extortion attempts, and you will be null and void in no time.

Do not use Yelp. Do not trust Yelp. Do not waste your time posting reviews on Yelp. Certainly, DO NOT advertise with Yelp. Yelp's rating on it's own website is less than 2 stars. It crushes small businesses that will not pay their exorbitantly priced and most aggressively marketed advertising fees... (extortion by any other name?) Are you a user? It disregards your time and effort and disdains your opinion by hiding reviews - under the guise of a proprietary algorithm used to 'validate' reviews. Further, it states "We do not recommend..." which is then associated with Yelp not recommending the business itself, rather than the review it has hidden. It would be easy, transparent and ethical - to simply display the rank assigned by the algorithm next to the (unrecommended) review - rather than hiding it. People don't know the power this company wields over small businesses and public opinion by controlling the content of reviews that are visible and the number of reviews that are hidden.

One word... Genius. Seriously who doesn't use Yelp for checking out restaurants and looking up reviews before checking out a new "hot-spot"????

I've asked several times for Yelp to stop calling me but the harassment continues.

I have asked yelp to stop calling me numerous times but they aggressively keep calling me to try to sell me their ads that dont work (we have tried before). Their algorithm for reviews will cause great reviews from people with legitimate profiles to be suppressed as soon as you tell them you are not interested in their ads. Im so tired of them calling and harassing me borderline having to call law enforcement about this

Hopefully you never sign up for a Yelp business site and get one of their salespeople breathing down your neck every week. Unsubscribing from their automated sales pitch emails doesn't do it, nor, apparently, does telling their humans over the phone that you aren't interested. Amanda with a Chicago number keeps calling me. Last week, I flat out told her I wasn't interested. Today she calls me back, I guess not having received the memo. When I reminded her what I told her last week, she says, "Well I can't answer your questions unless--" Guess what, Amanda: I don't have a question for you to answer, I just want you to stop calling me! How hard is that?

YELP REALLY IS THE WORST PLATFORM! Don t post really reviews but they allow malicious post. Yelp your the biggest Joke of a platform thank God for Trip Advisor.

Their widely-reported sales practices and their methods of arbitrarily excluding reviews from overall ratings make me not trust yelp. I don't use it anymore. And I'm loathed to give more to google, but what else is there? facebook, tripadvisor, and zomato in some places sometimes?

And no, I've never had a consumer-facing business which could have been a customer for yelp. That's not my axe to grind.

I signed up and got a surprize $370 charge to my credit card (for one $30 lead). They refuse to reverse the charges and despite my account being closed they have informed me the montly charges will continues. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAM!

I had Tara complete my living trust. She was professional and knowledgeable and was easy to talk to.

Rockywoods Fabrics has been in business for over 25 years, and we are still going strong. It came to our attention this past Monday, February 24th, that Yelp showed Rockywoods Fabrics as being permanently closed. We called Yelp that Monday to have it corrected. Tuesday, Yelp corrected the issue and showed us as being open again.

This morning, February 27th, we received another notification from Yelp, yet again saying our business has been determined to be closed. While on the phone with them, they could not give us a reason for their error, but they fixed it, again.

While pushing to get more answers from Yelp in order to keep this from happening again, we were told that to speak to anyone at Yelp, other than in sales, we would need to have an account manager. In other words, we would need to pay them. Sure enough, no sooner than Yelp hanging up on us, they once again acted like the thugs they are and changed our business to being permanently closed again.

We feel this is a clear case of racketeering by a business. Yelp has created a problem for us with the intention of extorting money to fix that very problem. They are no different than the mob going from business to business collecting money for protection.

Yelp will allow anyone to say nearly anything about a business without regard to being factual or slanderous.

I spoke with someone at Yelp today about a slanderous review recently posted about one of my my businesses. The representative stated that as long as the wording met their guidelines it doesn't matter if the information is truthful. I suggested that Yelp contact the dissatisfied customer to request rewording his review. He said it wasn't possible.

I've been in business for nearly forty successful years. There is a reason for that.
Why is this client's one star rating not offset by my detailed commentary. Obviously, Yelp reviews are weighted toward the consumer and not the business.

Yelp continues to solicit my business. I tried advertising with them once. They burned through my budget in an amazing short period of time. In my opinion, if any business is a scam, this is one.

There is no way that I would consider doing business with them again!

Google removed the review after my presenting the facts.

Trying to navigate or find the profile page so I can change my name to post reviews is futile. There s not even an option listed to delete my account entirely. After reading people s horrific experiences here about Yelp, I want nothing more to do with this company. Will call the corporate number and tell them to delete my account so I can post reviews elsewhere. They are not worth anyone s time or business.

Not honest, lie to people, I got $300 in free ads, in the end of the month got $1200 bill,
Tried to solve it with them but the person helping me his name was TRAVIS, said you chose and no one in yelp can choose the plan or the upgrades.
When I told him let me speak to a supervisor with all rudness said im, no one above me.
He is something else, YELP please choose the right people to service small business owners that pays you $1200/Month.

This business should be shut down. It is not okay that anyone can add your businesses to the platform and they refuse to take down your listing upon request.

Yelp is a communist company that does not give real reviews the light of day. They bury reviews from actual clients and refuse to take evidence of invoices and email correspondence to prove the reviews are real. This company needs to be sued in a class action lawsuit by all the businesses that are harmed by Yelp. They promote negative reviews and hide positive reviews so that when their salespeople call, the business owner will feel more pressure to advertise. This company cannot go out of business fast enough. Boycott Yelp and never ever support them by advertising. They are complete and utter SCAMMERS!!!!!

only YELP would allow THIEVES who were actually arrested in a business to create multiple accounts to slam the business that had them arrested and then claim they can't do anything about FRAUD because of their "algorithm". I am a frequent user of yelp. I inquired about being elite at the encouragement of friends, both locally and on yelp. Would you believe (of course we will) that I can t be elite because I m too honest. I have to be nicer, less truthful and leave everyone at least a *** (this means 3 stars). My confidence in business star rating just went out the window. The elite review are or one could conceivably think, they are blah blah blah

They kept deleting my honest, negative reviews. I deleted my Elite member account because if they are going to arbitrarily delete some of my reviews, they might as well delete all of them. I am glad I left yelp. The time I wasted writing reviews is better used now.

Yelp frequently deletes my reviews of different businesses because it suspects that I have a personal connection with the business. Well, guess what, I do. The reason why I have a personal connection with them is because they are good businesses where I get to know the people. I become a regular of that business because they are good businesses, something Yelp probably isn't familiar with. I wouldn't be going to them if they sucked. I'd give them a one-star and go somewhere else for my coffee, for that delicious asiago bagel with scallion cream cheese, and I most certainly would not be friends with the baristas. Apparently Yelp only wants us to review people we have no connection to... so only mediocre places?

Probably one of the most evil companies out there, extorting small businesses. So what yelp does is what they call filtering reviews and they never filter 1 star reviews but only 5 star reviews. Then if you pay them they stop filtering the 5 star reviews and post them to your listing. THIS IS EXTORTION! Meanwhile law enforcement does nothing about it because the owner has money and power.

In my opinion one of the biggest bullies to hard working business owners out there. They constantly harass myself and clients, I had one yelp guy call me 6 times in a row after telling him I wouldn t pay him. They hold businesses hostage by removing legit positive reviews and once they sign you up to pay they don t care at all about you. Really one of the biggest scams out there.

Yelp is a scam. They promised one price over phone for advertising then charged much more. Do not fall for their $300 promotional credit, it is a lie. Do not use Yelp, use Google or Trip Advisor

They try to extort businesses by hiding the good reviews and posting bad ones. Then telling you they can make your good reviews post again if you advertise with them. It s ironic that Yelp a company that allows others to review any company has all one star reviews for itself. This company allowed someone from a state we do not do business in to review for a product we do not offer. We have flagged it with a response. We also have spoken to reps of Yelp via email and calls. They will not remove the false review. They also do not publish real reviews. We subscribed for their advertising service, but now we will begin a campaign to let other businesses know how to leave a review. They do not have a published address so it s hard to leave a review.

So even though they say it's not because people don't advertise with them, one of the Yelp sales people said they could get the reviews that were deleted back, so you tell me.

Giving Yelp a 1 star review because even though I had 2, "5 star" reviews from ACTUAL customers, their "algorithm" decided to delete them.

Yelp is the enemy of the small business. Will extort and harrass in order to make a profit. 25/25 of my 5 star reviews do not show BECAUSE I WILL NOT PAY. The only reviews that show are a 2 star and a 4 star. What a JOKE of a company. Hope your stock goes to zero

Took my review of Shake Shack down after they broke the law. You just have to pay to have Yelp take down your bad reviews! Well Yelp, go pay Google to take this one down about me rating how much I dislike your service.

DO NOT ADVERTISE WITH YELP!

I was extremely upset once I figured out I had paid over 5X as much per visit to my website as it would have cost me with Google Ads. (That wasn't easy to determine because Yelp counts visits to the Yelp business page as a click.) Worse still, they were advertising my hair salon to folks that lived 20 miles away. That's 8X the size of the area that a hair salon can reasonably expect to gain new customers. Multiplying the two fractions together mean I got less than 1/40th the business that I could have gotten for my money from Google Ads.

BTW, they don't staff their customer service. My wait time would have been an hour! Fortunately I figured out for myself how to cancel my ads before I got ripped off for any more money.

Yelp will delete most of your business reviews. They will only post all of them if you pay to advertise with them. This is absolutely unfair. Salesman will keep calling weekly to make you pay for advertising. Very biased!

Their platform for hiding/not recommending reviews is a joke. For business owners, hiding legitimate good reviews and showing more negatives hurts our business.

I had a $1,000 budget for ads on Yelp
I got about a 15% increase supposedly by what their records show but honestly did not feel it at all as far as leads as well they wouldn't allow me to put a different phone number for the ads in order to track what's coming in from it which was very suspicious as well I noticed that the lead budget per click always exhausted itself exactly at the end of the month and there's no way for you to know what is a legit click and what isn't and if it's even really generating anyting.
When I stopped paying within two weeks my reviews went from 70 positive reviews and two negative reviews recommended to 3 positive reviews and two negative reviews left all the rest suddenly was not recommended anymore.
So my recommendation is stay away from Yelp.

If you have only one physician you go to or one dentist or one plumber how can you be giving reviews for other plumbers physicians and dentists. It then says they are throwing out your one review that you gave them. Always calling and trying to get more money from small business. Advertise on google never on yelp. Look at all the review that Yelp has on this website and learn from it

Worst customer service possible. Their algorithm screens out my positive customer service reviews. People go to yelp so they can write bad reviews. I'm writing a bad review about Yelp here on google.

I liked yelp at first for my business, but after many phone calls from their reps, it got annoying. In November I told them what I thought about their ads and paying $300 plus a month that I did not want it. 80% of my reviews disappeared that had been up for seven years. I m now not showing on yelp. I have 1 one * review and it will stay at top, but 5* hidden in not recommended. This is BS!! The documentary Billion Dollar Bully will explain so much to consumers that don t understand what Yelp has done to small businesses. Yelp is childish, ruthless, mafia type and should be banned!! Don t understand how this is still legal, what they are doing!!

I only wish that I could give a company 0 stars. Between hiding legitimate reviews for every business owner (including myself) that I know, to their pushy and misleading sales staff... this company can best be described a mafia. Too bad for them that they can't hide this legitimate review of how much I despise this company.

The most sketchy, inconsistant, unethical, and inappropriate company I have done business with in 30 years. I am disgusted with these people and how they maniupulated me as a client. I feel scammed, I feel like I completely wasted my time, and was lied to wtih people whom I was choosing to trust. Absolutley regret ever picking up their calls. Worst business third party corporation. If you have a small business don't use YELP as they will steal your money and you'll get nothing out of them. Use google much better and professional these people don't even try to help you!

The Yelp salesperson lied to us on the phone, offering us a 30 day free trial of Yelp ads for business. Then 13 days later, we received a bill for $238, which we refuted, and Yelp denied us a refund. They think it is totally fine for their salespeople to lie to make their sales quota. Yelp should be ashamed of ripping off small businesses and using deceptive business practices to make sales. We didn't make a single sale from advertising on Yelp for those days we were fraudulently charged. Google ads is much more effective! Think twice before you give your credit card information to Yelp!

Pay for Play. These people have extorted the hell out of us. Took down 80% of our 5 star reviews after we canceled advertising with them. -Always blaming their algorithms. I wish I could use that excuse every time I got pulled for speeding. It wasn t me officer; it was the algorithm..

A criminal enterprise. They don t provide a real service and they can hack your business financials and take your money. Probably as dirty a business that I have ever seen. Don t waste you money or give them any of your business information. Class action suits coming!

Reviews on Yelp can't be trusted. The reviews are biased and they delete most 5 star reviews or hide them unless the business pays Yelp a subscription. That's extortion and makes great businesses look horrible.

Getting really tired of cold call salesman who keep trying to get us to advertise with them. The reason we don t advertise with yelp is because they have all of our 5 star reviews in the currently not recommended section and all they have to say is it s our algorithm and people who use yelp more get displayed more . What a scam. All of the things he was trying to push me on, like adding more keywords, I can do myself if I login to the business site, which I did after our call. Reading all these reviews about how unless you pay them all of your reviews will sit in the non-recommended area makes me realize not advertising with them was a good choice.
