This place is nice for a really dated hotel. Nothing is updated, and everything seems dirty because its so old. Forv the cost of 300 per night, the hotel should be updated and super modern, but its not.

We had problems with our reservation through Expedia and the staff were so helpful in getting it straightened out. They went above and beyond what was expected. Because of that excellent service, this will now be our go to spot when in Virginia Beach The room was clean, the view amazing, and we couldn't ask for more.
Probably in the top 2 worst hotels I've stayed in and I've stayed in a lot of hotels across the country. Everything is outdated except for the lobby. No pillow cases, have to request a blanket, unless you like their sheet type "comforter", possibly dried blood in a cup, and there was even exposed wires underneath the air conditioner. Called the front desk to request the bedding, he said it would be on the way shortly. Called back an hour later, he said it was coming up. Waited a while longer and he stopped answering the phone. Overall, terrible customer service and a bad experience in general. Don't let the rates tempt you. Pay more and go elsewhere.
Our check in time was 4 and the room wasn t ready until 5. We drove 2 hours to get there to have to wait an hour to be called to advise us our room was ready. Then we had to wait in line to check in for another 30 minutes. Then we got to our room and not only were there not enough towels but one of our beds did not have a blanket. We requested a blanket and didn t get it the first night nor the 2nd night. When requesting one from Marie at the front desk not only was she rude she repeatedly cut me off and asked since it was already late by the time we called a 3rd time they could wait till morning. She showed no empathy or concern at all. Just that we were on the list and handy everything out. We paid $445 to stay 3 nights and 4 days this service is absolutely unacceptable.
Dirty,DEAD roaches, too much dog fur/hair,stains on linen & curtains was ripped up resturant cashier handle my fries with no Gloves & didnt wash hands, another chef was eating as he was preparing food NOT RECOMMENDED
It's a nice hotel with a not so crowded beach. It is a distance from the boardwalk, however they have transportation that will take you there for free!
Cleanliness is 2 stars max. Not vacuumed well, stuff behind the dresser, stains on the duvet which was covered by a sheet, smell of dog urine coming from the carpet and a roach climbing the wall! If it wasn't for the good parking and the great view, this would have been a 1 star review!
If you have plans to stay here, I reccomend finding other options. The shower curtain was moldy and my bed was unmade. Even after my shower, I felt dirty just because of the mold in the shower and shower curtain. There were yellow stains on the blankets as well. The only thing I enjoyed was the beach access. Other than that, I do not suggest you stay here.
With this being on the North End, it's removed from the hustle of the Boardwalk but the view of the ocean is perfect. And when booking, oceanview actually means a front view of the ocean. Great place to stay if you want to be on the beach but not be crowded with the scene
Check your bank account a month or so after you check out. Every time I've stayed at a Wyndham hotel I've discovered an extra $80+ charge. If you have to stay here, just remember to call the hotel and get your money back.
All I have to say is stay far away from the place.. Lol Great atmosphere and Location.. A+ Staff are great. This place is over looked..But if your complaining please get a life and go down the other in of the boardwalk.. Where is crowed and more expensive P. s plz use common sense and be careful and wear mask!
For a beach hotel, it was fairly clean. The service was a bit slow but they are still friendly. The biggest point is how accommodating they were to my 2 pups. I would definitely recommend staying here when traveling with your pups.
Wonderful staff and service. They were extremely friendly, helpful, and understanding when we were having an emergency. Also located in a quiet, peaceful community. Would definitely come here again and recommend to anyone staying in Virginia beach!
Very happy with our stay. Staff was great and room was clean and spacious. Partial view of the ocean was a nice feature. Very affordable place to stay for a night. Sorry did not try the restaurant but it looked nice when i walked by. Indoor pool looked smaller than the pics i saw of it but the temperature of the water was very nice and they were clean.
Fantastic view of the beach! For me, the hotel location was perfect because it was less than a mile from my seminar. It's also close to First Landing State Park ( 64th St entrance with $7 fee). Harris Teeter grocery store is only 2 miles away. My oceanfront room was on the 7th floor with King size bed, microwave & mini-fridge. It was clean & spacious. The wifi was steady. Strong water pressure & good supply of hot water. Free parking too. Hotel is undergoing renovations and their restaurant/bar is now open. The ice machine on my floor was broken but I was able to get plenty of ice from the restaurant downstairs. Very friendly staff! During the off-season, peaceful & quiet. I really enjoyed my stay!
Beautiful view of the beach, room was very nice, beds were comfortable. They are updating a few things, so it will be very nice when it's done. Had a good time!
My husband and I stayed there for our anniversary weekend. We had a great time and were very happy that we chose this hotel. If you are looking to stay right on the boardwalk this isn't the place for you. I liked it because of how private it felt. The beach was almost empty and it was relaxing to be able to sit out there and just hear the ocean. We slept every night with the balcony door open and enjoyed the beautiful ocean front and the sound of the waves crashing. We also saw dolphins several times. The rooms were clean and smelled nice. We ordered breakfast one morning and it was delicious. All the staff was friendly. The wifi did suck but i was on vacation and not trying to waste my time on the Internet. I would definitely stay here again.
This is an outdated hotel. The hallways do not have appealing look. When I booked, I did not realize that it is 18 blocks away from boardwalk. The photos on the website are correct, there are tan chairs up front to use. The pool also needs to be serviced better.
Save yourself a lot of aggravation and money and stay somewhere else. The staff and managers have no clue how to run a hotel. They all need some serious training. The rooms are old and gross inside. The hallways are extremely hot and the pools look disgusting. The rooms look like they havent been updated since the 80's and the old air conditioners leave the carpet soaked. The maids showed up at 4pm the first 2 days and then at 8:30am the next morning! The front desk was completely useless and Glen has no clue what he is doing up there and is an exact replica of the character Milton from Office Space. I was there for a Wedding and almost every person had an issue with checking into their rooms and many issues during their stay. Looks very bad for the Wyndham brand
Great spring break vacation with kids. Rooms were nice and spacious. Things to know: Inside pool is ridiculously small. Hotel is not on the boardwalk. Still a great hotel. I'd stay again.
Still a great location away from the crowds but close enough to everything. Unfortunately, it is in need of several repairs and I was given the wrong room at check in. Not a very clean place either. Been coming here for many years and sorry to see the decline.
I booked 2 rooms a month ago. Called 2 weeks ago to ask a few questions was told we were set for our 2 adjoining pet friendly rooms. 2 adults in room 1 and 1 adult 1 child in room 2. We called this evening to verify our reservations which are 48 hours away and found out that they booked 3 adults and 1 child in each room. Which we were billed for. Also informed we DONT have a pet friendly reservation. In order to do so we had to pay more to upgrade to oceanfront rooms that ARENT adjoining!!! I m not even there and I m already EXTREMELY frustrated!!!! My son is a Marine and we haven t seen him for a long time. This was SUPPOSED to be a nice relaxing weekend to spend time with our son. I m super stressed so I guess because of their reservation errors we will now suffer!
Location is great. The food and drinks at the restaurant was good. But pets a no go. Dog mess all over. No room service unless you request it. The place really is nice but needs upgrade.
We paid $159 a night for 3 nights without being told that they are having parties every single night. You can hear the music beating through the floors and if you call and ask they don t even know when it will stop. The worst hotel experience I ve ever had. The couch in our room was broken and covered in stains, the smoke detector was hanging from the wall and they didn t care when we told them. Would never recommend this hotel, they re more focused on the parties than maintaining their rooms and pleasing the guest that actually paid money to be here.
Hotel was disgusting. We found blood in our bed sheets and had to wait over an hour for someone to change them. (Had to call the front desk 3 times). Wall paper is peeling off the of walls in the room and all of the wires for the air conditioner are exposed. Bath room was dirty. Terrible stay and way over priced. The only positive thing about our trip was that the ocean is right there. We will never stay here again
Nice room with a view. pool was kinda dirty and the hot tub was more like a warm tub however it was nice to relax in regardless. We got charged twice by mistake and our homeboy Brett at the front desk fixed it right away. Give him a raise. Would definitely stay again but I'm poor
This is a great hotel. Clean sheets. Clean bathroom. Has it's own beach access. Ocean view is phenomenal. They also offer a shuttle to Neptune ( boardwalk) every hour. Only complaint is their outdoor pool could be a little bigger, it's quite small. Overall, we'd stay again.
This place is honestly the nastiest hotel I ve ever been to. There was dirt and mold all over the floors & shower. The ocean front view included a huge bush which blocked the view and cigarette buts all over the patio. Not to mention the door to our room & patio wasn t even locked, we just walked right in. When I pulled back the blankets there was huge yellow stains & what appeared to be black mold on the blankets. Thankfully they gave me a refund and I didn t have to stay at this horrible place. I wasn t the only one asking for a refund, there were four others behind me with pictures of how awful their rooms were too. I m not sure how this place is even allowed to be open.
It was affordable. Stood in four inches of water to take a shower, room didn't cool down, toilet seat was broke, and water in faucet in bathroom never got warm.
Recently came here for a wedding reception and the staff could not have been more amazing! They really helped to keep the wonderful night flowing smoothly.
Great beach front view and housekeeping! Pool is a bit scary ; does not look so clean. Breakfast buffet was average. A good place for families and bring your own drinks and snacks! We like the beach rental, they have umbrellas, chairs, boogy boards and more.
The information online did not match the reality at all. The layout of the hotel was strange and the rooms were really small so we weren't very pleased.
Worst Wyndham experience ever in life! First the positives! The beds were very comfy! The location is ideal! Everything else was all down hill for us! First check in was Super slow! Even with the hotel only being 30% booked at 845pm! We were given keys went to our room only to discover it was a complete wreck and clearly someone was staying there presently! I m so glad they weren t in the room because that could have gone lots of different ways!
During the Long check in we were told that the bar and restaurant was open and the super bowl was playing. Only to discover that it suddenly closed for the evening while we were waiting on someone to bring us keys to a clean, unoccupied room.
The maid on duty was very nice and tried to be helpful. When she delivered the keys to the new room we found a huge trash bag full of garbage near the front door! Inside, the room was moderately clean! I had to go out to a store to get Clorox liquid and wipe! There was hair in the tub, the toilet had not been properly cleaned and there were only 2 bath towels in the entire room! Not a single hand towel or face cloth! Counters, coffee maker and hair dryer all had considerable dust build up! The room just didn t smell clean. Booked the room for 2 nights but we won t be staying for the second night. Once work here is completed we will be doing the 6 hour trip back to Charlotte instead of getting a good nights rest! So disappointed as this is not representative or the Wyndham experiences we are use to both in and out of the USA.
My stay at the hotel was amazing from making reservations to checking out. Hotel staff greeted me with politeness. The lobby was decorated in a pleasing style. Hallways were well lighted. My room was freshly cleaned and smelled wonderful. The view was breathtaking. Room service was like a 5 star restaurant. Maids kept my family in towels, shampoo, soap, coffee and didn't hesitate to give us extra pillows. Would love to be able to stay again.
Very nice hotel with good service. More relaxed than in the area with all hotels and night life, but close enough if you want to eat there and do activities. I suggest you take a view of the sea .. it's wonderful. If you are tall enough you might be able to see dophins jumping from your room. The only negative point is that I found the hotel pools (indoor and outdoor) a little messy. Have a good stay
This has been one of the worst experiences Ive had at ANY hotel. Upon arriving we triple checked to make sure our large party would be on the same floor, we are all in separate buildings!!! Hair on towels, filthy sheets, broken beds, no ac in elevators. If there wasnt so many of us i would suggest we leave!! I would recommend staying some place else
We had a wonderful time all 3 days! The only thing they could improve on is microwaves in the rooms. Other than that this hotel is highly recommended by us and we'll be staying again very soon!
1st night my ac was broke and room was 81 degrees. They did move me to a better room with plenty of ac. I rate them a 4 not 5 because i had to call 5 times to resolve the issue. Overall good customer service.
DO NOT stay here. I made reservations over a month ago for a oceanfront room and when I arrived they informed me that all oceanfront rooms were sold out and the best they could give me was a standard room with a pool view. I was not refunded any money, NOTHING!! The staff do not honor pre paid reservations. They will bump your reservation to cater to walk- ins. This experience will be by far the worse I've had in Virginia Beach. Me and my significant other come all the way from north Carolina on her birthday to get cheated and lied to. Trust me. Don't do it!!!
The family loved our stay, service was perfect and staff were very respectful. The room was clean and freshly serviced and of coarse the view from the 11th floor was to die for.
First of all, the 1st day we found hairs in the bed, in the "Fresh, clean" sheets, 2)the bed skirt and carpet had funky stains all over, 3)we found a big roach crawling in the room, 4)housekeeping only came ONCE in the 4 days we were there to clean and make the beds, 5) i had to ask the front desk for soap and shampoos because no one ever came to replenish, 6)there was mold in the bathroom, 7)the bed comforter had makeup stains, 8)we only got fresh towels 1 time in 4 days......overall we were very disappointed by our stay here, would never go back, would never reccomend.
Gross! This hotel is not well maintained. There is an odor, the floors are filthy, the window in the hallway was extremely dusty, i saw a few bugs, the sheets looked like they had possibly been used, no towels in the room upon arrival, the washer and dryer didn't work properly. The hotel needs a lot of work. The only good is that it is right on the beach and pet friendly. It does offer a beautiful Oceanview. I feel this hotel is extremely overpriced due to the poor upkeep and quality of the hotel!
This location is ideal for those who don't wish to be a part of the crowded boardwalk properties. Far enough north with beautiful expanses of beaches tucked in between private homes and no parking fees . Food was okay tables have been placed out.on the beach terrace for proper separation, only thing beds could be updated, way too soft for my sleeping needs, but in all a nice place to be able to enjoy the beach, all rooms in the main (older tower are ocean front). Be sure and bring your own chairs for the beach as you can spend $50 a day for lounges and umbrella.
Stayed in the run down section, booked ocean front didn't get it. Duct tape on carpet, I wouldn't let my dog swin in that pool. Smoke infiltrated our room from hallway smoking which is so pleasant in the morning. Ran out of COLD water taking shower, how the heck does that happen. They called and told me that I was going to be charged for not checking out despite having a 2 day reservation. They need a make over or this will be a low end WV tourist hangout. (I can say this because I hit the hillbilly highway 25 yrs ago)
The only reason this place received 3 stars are because of Nikki, who ended up giving money off the bill, Christen and the engineer that brought us a new TV. They were great! Other than that the pools and hot tub were being repaires when we arrived. The tub was broken. The TV kept shutting off AND one of the staff stole something from me while "cleaning" the room smdh. Has the potential to be a great place but I won't be staying here again.
Room and restaurant were nice, but hallways were dirty, carpet needs replacement and corner guards on walls need attention. Very dated, needs an upgrade soon!
Rooms were clean, quick service, wifi has improved since our conference last year, ceiling was leaking some from extended rain but staff were attentive to it.
Perfect Getaway! The room was really nice and clean, the restaurant has excellent food and ambience, and the view is incredible. The staff is what makes this a five star review--they are truly service-oriented.
I loved working with Wyndham Oceanfront Hotel for Stan and Katherine s wedding on November 9th, 2019. The staff was incredibly professional and accommodating during the rush of the big day. My clients really loved ambience of the venue as well!
My stay was plesent Nikeitha Johnson your front desk supervisor was so helpful at all times , prompt and very professional look forward to staying agin
1. Tub clogged, called three time over two day period and finally someone responded after the last call. 2. Air filter in AC completely broken and filthy letting in everything from outside. 3. When we got to the room there was a big bottle of cleaner on the counter with dirty rags (child safe...) 4. No toilet paper 5. Two burnt out bulbs 6. Base board filthy 7. Exhaust fan in bathroom doesn't do anything and sounds/looks like it's from the 50's 8. INTERNET doesn't work. Called the assistance line, no help 9. Tear in couch, end tables are all torn up. 10. OPEN BREAKERS ON BOTTOM OF WALL UPON ARRIVAL. Called someone immediately because we have kiddos here but what if someone else didn't notice? Never staying here again... unprofessional front lobby staff.
