Great place for a ocean wedding and reception! Spacious and friendly wait staff . Will be going back

My family really enjoyed themselves we had the penthouse suite that really accommodated our needs for space. The room was well maintained and clean.

The whole experience sucked. I brought the family there this weekend and got 2 rooms. We finally arrived around 630pm which the 4 kids were hungry. I asked the guy at the desk if they had a restaurant and he informed me the place in the same building as my room was had a place that would be available. After checking in and going to our rooms we headed for the place you eat and was informed when we got there that the place was closed to guest staying at the hotel. Feeling pissed I took the family to another place off location and when we got back we went to check out the pool which was nasty, smelly and a dark nasty unmaintained
greenish color water. Finally we went back to the room to put the kids into bed. Afterwards I went into the back patio to have a cigarette and was told if I didn't leave this area by the time some idiot got back their was going to be trouble because they rented the whole place. I was about ready to beat a mfer for talking to me like that. This place should be nothing more than a VERY VERY last resort. Not relaxing at all and not safe for ur family members as well.... I'm going to cooperate with this as well

Stayed in the tower rooms on the first floor. Room was nice. Almost everything looked brand new. They must have remodeled recently, getting rid of the problems you read about in other reviews about this hotel. Honestly the room is great value, the only negative was that they hadn't yet redone the fixtures in the tub/shower. Fixtures worked but man were they old. The bathroom vent fan wasn't working, so the room got very humid and warm after showers from the steam. The restaurant was amazing with great tasting lunch entrees for very good price. The staff was caring and super polite. If you had a less than stellar experience the last time you stayed at Wyndham,I would give it another shot. Looks like they were aware of the problems and have tried to fix them.

Very disappointed with my room. The plaster was peeling from the ceiling in the bathroom, the tub floor was very dirty, dust was an inch thick in the air conditioner, and there was a hole in the fabric of the chair. In summation, it felt dirty and poorly kept. And for $250 a night, I expected better. Checked out early.

I have been going to this hotel for over 8 years as part of a conference. The hotel is adequate but feels dated in comparison to other hotels in VA beach. The bar closes at 10 which seems early when you have conference events that last late into the evening.

Indoor pool is closed,gym is closed,ice machine on the 9th floor broken. Restaurant pretty good.

Very old building in need of some renovations. Someone had used the desk drawer in our first room as an ash tray, there were no towels in the room, and the toilet didn t flush so they switched us to a new room that also had no towels but was otherwise acceptable.

Lovely beach view from the oceanfront rooms and it s a bit off the main strip so the beach was less crowded.

We went during the pandemic and they didn t really enforce their mask policy and the clientele evidently didn t care to wear them which was frustrating. Also there were some very sketchy (mask-less!) people hanging around the first floor area (I assume they were guests but can t confirm.)

Lesson learned: You get what you pay for in customer service, hotel quality, and clientele.

Hotel is dated. Great location. Half of staff super kind. Other half not so much. Another thing, no mention of wedding and closing off of patio for 2 days. Think others in hotel should be compensated, they picked up all the beach chairs, so two days no access to patio overlooking beach? No one would accommodate. Was overcharged and promised refund never happened, when mentioned wedding and inconvenience of no use of patio, nothing. TV had to be replaced and remote, the remote was covered in black sticky tar. It was a bizarre place.

There was no air conditioning in the hallways, common areas and bathrooms.

Wonderful view. Rusty towel bars. Didn't restock bathroom supplies. No breakfast.

Staff is rude on the phone and in person. Hotel appears old. No umbrellas although website indicates such. No complimentary breakfast although website indicates such. Complained and they basically didn't care. Hotel is VERY far North of main area and shuttle bus only takes you to Northern point of boardwalk as opposed to center of attraction. Our room was okay, but I overheard ohers at front desk with legitimate complaints. We will never do Wyndham again. The Hampton, Holiday Inn Express and of course Hilton are a few better choices.

Deplorable Condition. The hallway had no air condicioner, the hygiene was terrible, especially in the middle of this pandemic. Got to the room and found just 1(one) bath towel. The Shower head was leaking. The matresses did not have fitting sheets. Frigorbar was not working and there was no microwave in the room. Step out on the deck and it was dirty and leaking from the ceiling. The pictures on the website must have been taken decades ago, not accurate to the reality. I spent 5 hrs max in the room and rush back out.

Niketha Johnson at the registration desk was phenomenal managing our stay.

They could use a pool guy to maintain the pools on site. But other than that it was a pretty great place to stay. For the price it was a very nice place to stay right on the beach. Within a 3 mile drive there is all manner of restaurants and stores. I enjoyed my stay.

I was there for a wedding. The food was great, the venue was clean and beautiful, the staff was helpful. It was great!

Hotel seems to be on the older side. No AC in the hallways although there was AC in the actual rooms. Rest of the hotel very stuffy, bathrooms very small, rooms were okay.

We we're put into an unclean room upon arrival. Trash in room, used towels on ground in bathroom, beds used.
There was trash on the grounds left by staff in large bags and by other guests.
Pot almost everywhere in the air.
The pool. The water was disgusting. Should not have been open. The water was cloudy, almost whitish. Glass beer bottles everywhere.
Not worth the money.
We all got sick from staying there.

Location was great, at the beach but not on the strip. Great view and rooms were clean.

At a certain price point/ there is a basic expectation- working wall thermostat, cable TV that broadcasts without regular/ systematic interruptions, and basic housekeeping = no dead bug field on the window sills.
Great location but plan on a ride share to the better restaurants and bars.

It was a ok hotel. Not worth the price. I guess your paying for the ocean front view. Room was kind of dirty. Looks like someone didn't vaccum the floor. Room was stuffy. Old looking and plaster on ceiling is peeling. It needs a lot of updating. Carpet looks old and dirty and some spots looks like it has a wet spot.

Horrible. Room had mold on the curtains. Beds looked slept in. Walls was scared and dirty. Talked to Manager and Clerk and they didnt seemed concerned. I checked out.

This hotel is in major need of repair on the outside. The inside wasn't too bad, but could use some updating. The first room my family was placed into smelled of mold and had a red, nasty substance on the bathroom sink. There were also stains on the wall. The second room smelled alot better. But there was mildew all over the shower head and bathroom tile floor. I feel like for the price I paid, it should have been alot classier. I probably will not return to this hotel.

The only thing nice about this hotel is the oceanfront view. Check in was horrible. My husband and I choose to spend our 10th Anniversary here and when my husband asked the front desk clerk for some informaton about entertainment, he acted as if he was bothering him. Then we get to our room and the air feels muggy in there so we open the sliding doors for some outside air. The tub was nasty with hair and dirt from when the last person took a bath. There were no wash cloths so we had to call the front desk for them. Since I needed to wash I washed the hair out and took a shower with my shower shoes on. Because of all of the other filth I couldn't get comfortable in the bed... We requested another room so we was told we needed to wait until the next day because they're booked. We haven't yet moved though. This will be our last visit here.

Older hotel but clean and comfortable. Nice large suites. Friendly staff. Prompt room service, however their biscuits for the crab Benedict are kinda odd.

Just had to work on the cell tower on the roof but everything looked nice and staff were courteous.

First, we went to check in at 4pm, which is check in time and they said they didn't have any rooms available yet. When i explained that we had 3 small children with us they suddenly had a room available. Upon making it hallway our room was in, we found the door to our room ajar. I pushed it open and the room had beer cans, pizza boxes, unmade beds, and smelled awful. I called the front desk and they said they were putting us back in the queue, i again explained we had three small children and they quickly provided another room a floor down from ours. upon entering this room, there were no towels, the walls had holes with exposed wires, the shower when turned on poured out brown fluid and the shower curtain was covered in black mold. I called the front desk asking for towels and a new shower curtain only for them to never deliver. We ended up leaving due to the safety hazards of the room with children. To say the least, we were beyond disappointed.

The staff was very nice. The only mix up was a check in. We had reserved two adjoining rooms and they could only find one of our rooms in the reservations. Finally figured that out and it was too late to make them adjoining.

This was absolutely the worst hotel I ve ever stayed in. They couldn t find a reservation for me but they found us a room with no TV no Fridge the beds were old as dirt. This room was like a closet. The bathroom had hair on the floor. The sink was cracked. There were gaps under the baseboards. The toilet barely flushed. We had throw pillows for pillows no comforter only sheets. God the list could just go on and on. IT WAS A DUMP. They had their indoor pool closed due to Covid but no where on their website said that. Would have been nice to know ahead of time. I called the manager and because we agreed to that room because they said that s all they had no other rooms available and because we were there for a moose convention that the rate was already too low and said tough stuff. What kind of manager does that? I ll tell you a real incompetent one who doesn t care about their customers or establishment.

Over the past weekend I reserved rooms for my family and myself at Wyndham Virginia Beach Oceanfront based off the beautiful pictures posted of the hotel. However every picture posted is an absolute lie and meant to deceive people to book. The hotel is extremely disgusting and with Covid 19 there are very limited precaution in place. First when walking into the lobby there was water all over the floor from people tracking through from the pool and speaking of the pool, pure nasty. The water was cloudy and you could see a film on top of the water that was like that for the 1 and 1/2 day that I was there. Once in the building and hallways it got extremely worst. The carpet on the floors was nasty where you could see the dirty in the carpet. I refused to let my son walk around with no shoes on. The lining on one of the beds in my room was dirty, but it was so late when I noticed it me and my kids all slept in one bed after I examined it. The room had a odor, the hallways had an odor, I seen a housekeeper several times on my floor but never seen her vacuuming the floors to get the trash and dirty off the carpet once. There was stains on the curtains, bugs smashed to the walls. The bathroom floors looked at if it had not been swept from the last visitor. The finally straw was early that next morning I woken by a dog barking loudly back and forth down the hall. At that point I got my kids up at 7am to check up and leave. I was so disappointed that I just dressed my kids and myself and left to head by home which was three hours away. I got to the front desk to tell the manager and explained to her all of the issues and how the floors in my room was so nasty and she stated to me that I should have called and they would have moved me to another room. I replied by asking her was my room the only room that had dirty carpet and she stated yes. That statement was truly unbelievable that my room was the only one that had dirty floors. She stated that she would get maintenance to check the room. However this room and this hotel is beyond maintenance and housekeeping. It needs to be condemned, the ceiling in the hallways over the ice machines is even missing, how sanitary is that? Please do not be victim to what I was by the pictures. This hotel is a total mess and will be reported to the Virginia Beach health department.

The dat staff was very friendly and willing to help in anyway possible.

Check in took a long time. Hotel is older and it shows.

Location is excellent. The beach is accessible from the ground floor via a patio. The hotel itself was kind of dirty. Hair in The bathroom, unvaccumed halls, and stained wallpaper. The food left much to be desired, but the staff was prompt in response to requests for extra towels and toothbrush.

Very expensive. Outdated furniture. Uncomfortable beds. Unclean. Would not recommend to anyone.

Clean but very old and spread out over a whole block

We had the Jacuzzi room it was dirty. Did not even use the Jacuzzi because it had hair and weird brown stains in it due to covid restrictions I expected a higher level of cleanliness. The bed had a stain the pillow had a stain the refrigerator was one big block of ice. The vents appeared to have mold on them. The sliding door to the balcony was extremely hard to open felt like I needed hulk strength just to get in and out. The ocean view was a plseant surprise however. I did tell the front desk this morning and all the guy said is sorry. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!! it was a waste of 230 dollars which might I add is outrageous for the off season. I do highly recommend the restaurant it was delicious and had great service.

Got the hotel room as a last min reservation from Hotels.com. Happy I got it for cheap; the room looked like it had seen some things and there was a metal bar poking out from under a bed that looked like some final destination scene. Overall it was on the ocean check in and out was easy but overall the place was kinda dirty.

Great views. Nice and quiet this far down. Still close to the beach. Room is great quality. My only complaint is the bed is uncomfortable, springy. Pool is very cool. Hot tub in room is nice.

We left 30 minutes after checking in. They took an extra hour for our room to be ready. We get into the elevator and to our floor and immediately the smell of dog pee hits us with disgusting carpets. We get to our room and there are used qtips on the floor, pubes matted on the toilet and a bloody tampon behind the toilet. I am repulsed that they took an extra hour and that s how they left our room. Let s not mention all the hair in our bed and in our shower. The man at the front desk was wonderful while the girl in training was snickering at people with issues.

This is Wyndham in name only. Poor WiFi, old building, SLOW elevators, LOUD bathroom FAN that sounds like a frieght train. This is an old worn down hotel

Nothing like the photos. No microwave in the room. Weak A/C With the curtains shut, the room is still 85 degrees. The hotel store didn't even open for the last two days and there are no other options around. Bathtub had sand in it when we checked in.

Staff was so friendly and courteous, the room however, not so great. Room was clean, but right in front of the elevators. While our AC did work it was obnoxiously noisy and woke us up throughout the night, as did the loud mouth guests that don't know what inside voices are when waiting on an elevator. The beds were clean but so terribly soft we all had backaches in the morning, not sure if it was from tossing and turning due to the noise of elevator, guests and AC or just couldn't get comfortable in the beds.
We had planned to stay 2 nights but when sleep is the reason you get the room but can't sleep due to two unavoidable issues: the AC noise and guests making a party stop at the elevator...
The food was great we had salmon, flat bread mozzarella basal tomato, fish n chips and adult beverages, all fantastic the servers were sweet and brought our dog a cold bowl of water while we ate on the patio. Lived the furniture on the patio and wished they kept the cushions on the lounge furniture into the evening, we would have loved to lounge outside in the evening on the patio.
Staff was quick when we called for extra towels, and the hotel was fully booked during the peak season of summer.
Hotel was clean lived that it was at the end of the strip and further from the boardwalk, it kept the beach traffic down and there was ample space between guests on the beach.

Overall nice location, wonderful staff, clean, excellent food, just a bad AC, too soft of beds foe our taste, and rude people that have no manners when remembering people do sleep in rooms next to elevators. We would have stayed the additional night but we woke up sore and cranky from lack of sleep and just wanted to end the short mini vacay and go home. BUMMER too we had planned the trip short notice as my son was home on leave and we wanted to enjoy some family beach time and this hotel is one of the few that loves people with dogs as family members

Great view of the ocean. It was off season, so there was lots of renovation going on. Wasnt crazy about that! I'm sure summer is a better time to stay there.

first it has that motel smell. rooms where not kept up. The bed was so soft up top you could feel your blood rushing to your head. The hotel was not clean enough for me. I paid Priceline and that was the second time I received a dump of a hotel with 3 stars. Awful rooms we stayed in . Also seen $2.12 fee on my bank statement called the hotel/motel and was told it was the resort fee.. WHAT RESORT ??????????????????

Beautiful rainbow in the cloud, but terrible pasta primavera and slow service.

Viewed are great. Main hotel is nice with nice restaurant and bar. Rooms are startimg to show need of renovation. But for a balcony facing the ocean, the pirce is hard to beat.

It was a great stay. The hotel gave up a complimentary upgrade. The view and the hotel was lovely. However, I can not give the hotel 5 stars because we found roach in our room that we flushed down the toilet.

Next time will check to see if dogs are allowed. Do not want to be around dogs on my vacation. Also could not sleep because detergent they used to wash sheets made me sneeze. Had to re-wash everything.

Saw a giant cockroach in my room. Found hairs on the toilet and one of the pillows when I arrived. Bathroom was very small and had very old fixtures. Floors in my room had many dirt spots and the non-carpeted parts were sticky. The rest of the hotel in general seemed old and rundown and just not clean. However, the staff was friendly.

This place was nice and quiet. The kids loved the pool and workout room.

Good location, decent rooms, wonderful staff. Annoying guests.

I was there in the off season, rates were very reasonable. The hotel needs to be updated (old carpet, lobby looked run down, outdated furniture) cleanliness wasn't great, might be due to covid or being the off season. The staff I interacted with were awesome.

Great Ocean View, soft King Size bed. Had a good time would stay again.

I stayed at the hotel from 9/11- 9/16 using my Wyndham Rewards points. Before arrival I requested an upgrade to ensure that I had an oceanfront room. Jena was very accommodating over the phone. Upon arrival, sgr checked me in and was very courteous. Win from engineering promptly fixed the broken handle on the sliding balcony door. I thought the front desk, engineering and house keeping staff were very nice and contributed to an enjoyable sray. The room was nice and clean. The only problem was the smell of another guest's cigar smoke while sitting on the balcony. I made reservations from October 9th - 12th.

Minus one star for no free breakfast. Minus one star for no TV guide. Minus one star for front desk staff. Rooms need updating as they are dingy and outdated.

This hotel as changed over the years, close to the beaches and local eateries its a jewel that needs updates.

If you think your rooms are clean think again. Trust me. You might as well clean it yourself . I've seen these ppl "clean"

The suite was filthy. They had water damage in the ceiling, the room stank, the floor was disgusting, the lobby...unwelcoming. Didn't even stay there for 4 hours. When we were leaving, a peek into another room revealed that they were patching the floor with duck tape. Do not be fooled.

Great place for vacation, great views, and the sun and breeze was nice.

A pretty average hotel. The staff was really nice and it was oceanfront, so that's why I gave it an extra star. Rooms were clean. Just an overall "mediocre".

Very family friendly and good customer service which says alot when it's on a major holiday such as July 4. Plans to return
