Everyone is friendly, helpful when it comes to asking questions, information about my mom's or even things in general. Rooms clean and everyone that I have met so far have been helpful towards the patients. Which is a plus since they have to be there for one reason or another.

My uncle is in there. He is wheelchair bound, blind in one eye, has diabetes, missing toes and goes for dialysis a few times a week. Staff there sees that he has visitors that brings him food, money, pain killers etc and they take advantage of that. He does stuff for himself and when he's away for therapy or dialysis the staffs go through his personal items. So far he had his pain killers stolen and clothes. He's now had his little money we left him stolen for the third time. This place is a mess. We're planning to report this place if this continues. It isn't right to steal from those who can't help themselves but to be in such a place.
I found the facility to be very clean and Emaculennt I noticed a lot of activity going on for the residents, very happy that my family member is there..thank you..
Worst experience. My father was in rehab and almost died. They did not change his diaper and now has stage four ulcer. Do not bring your parents here. No one cares.
This place was a disaster from day one in every way possible. On intake the billing department wanted me to sign away my fathers income to sign up for a Medicaid plan when my father had appropriate coverage for his stay. They had been supplied that medical insurance and had no record of it. Then when I spoke to the supervisor I was told they were looking at the wrong patient. His phone line did not work for the first couple of weeks and neither did his push button to call a nurse. He got stuck on a potty for hours because the button did not work and the nurses do not check on them for hours. His sheets were wet when he arrived. It takes days or hours to get nurses to act on anything like changing the wet sheets they placed on the bed. The nurses station was disorganized. They got my dad prepped for a wound care appointment that he had already had the day before. The person who handled the transport arrangements was unpleasant and never arranged payment or transport until I called her. Food was never hot which is discouraging when you are trying to get a man who just came out of a comma back on solid foods. His pain management was poorly managed. He went from Fentynl to motrin and when he was in poin still they denied him anything else. When the doctor finally agreed to change his meds it took an additional 24 hours for the pharmacy to dispense the meds. His surgeon recommended a 10 day stay and they extended him to 21 days which is what the insurance covered. When asked why we were told that the physical therapist recommended it. When I spoke to the physical therapist he advised he released my father from physical therapy. When I kept asking for help with the social worker and trying to understand I was ignored. When I finally heard from a social worker it was a new social worker assigned to my fathers case and was not familiar with any of our issues. At discharge they failed to order the proper equipment that he needed. He sat for 10 hours waiting to be discharged and no equipment. He had to stay an extra night which was billed to him. DO NOT LEAVE ANYONE YOU CARE ABOUT HERE!
My Aunt is currently a patient in this facility. I have been trying for days to get in contact with someone, to no avail. I have left messages for the social worker who seems to always be in "morning meetings" ALL DAY. I am starting to believe that this is a standard response given just so the person answering the phone need not put in any work to locate the person I need to speak with. I see a Larry Abrams responding to all of these reviews and leaving the facility number for a call back however, that is part of the issue now isn't it? What good is calling the facility when you are just given the run around and never directed to the appropriate party? My Aunts doctors have extended her stay yet they are still trying to discharge her. Her physical therapy has been discontinued even though she has provided documentation on numerous occasions from her doctor stating that she is to continue having physical therapy. As I am in Florida I am unable to address this matter in person however if I have to get on a plane to do so and miss work I will do so. I work for a law firm and have dealt with many cases of nursing home negligence. I never thought that one of my family members would be subjected to the gross ineptitude that I've seen in those cases but it would appear that she is another one of these unlucky people who had the simple misfortune of becoming ill. I have left several messages for Ms. Henry. I'd appreciate a call back and immediate action. I am sure Mr. Abrams is unhappy to hear this, that is great that you care, now if you would ensure that something is actually done regarding this matter, that would be an actual step in the right direction.
The building and grounds are sunny and beautiful, and the environment quite pleasant. The reason for lacking one star is because of the lack of empathy shown by one of the social work staff to an elderly Spanish couple that needed far more help than the 3 minute conversation they received, leaving them very afraid of having to pay for their stay. As a social worker myself, I was able to assist them, especially with the help of a wonderful finance office staff that took the proper time to explain everything and ease their fears. Other than that, which I sense is an isolated incident, this facility is highly recommended.
My mother was transferred to Workmen's 5/18/18 for physical therapy. On 5/25/18 an ambulance was called by staff and my mother was sent alone to Jacobi Hospital where she arrived semi unconscious. According to staff member she was sent because due to breathing difficulties. When I asked about her condition the staff member told me my mother was conscious and talking. However, when I arrived at the hospital the doctor informed me she arrived unconscious from low blood sugar, low blood pressure. Obviously she was not monitored or checked on, as she needed given her delicate state. She was put in a back room near the exit, where we seldom saw anyone come by. My mother was not speaking, moving or blinking when she arrived at Jacobi hospital. She passed on 5/26/18 at 4:00 am. BEWARE!
Really less than this star. So very angry. My aunt was there less than 24 hours before she fell unattended, hit her head and had to be brought back to the hospital. Now she is intubated. Sad situation.
I have my mother at work men's circle and the staff has been very very good with her needs.they also keep her very busy on a daily basis. They also keep the facility in great condition and very very clean.everyone is friendly from the time you walk in until u leave.they also keep you inform of everything of the resident. I am very happy that I pick work men's circle for my mother.
These guys took real good care of my mother and made her stay more than welcome. I appreciate the care and hospitality they gave her. They really need to work on the elevators though.
Very pleased with the care my uncle recieved at the facility. It was clean and the staff was attentive. He was on the second floor for short term rehab. He will return for his second surgery.
I ve notice the way MINORITY employees are treated and as family member of a patient I will make those who are at fault will be liable. I already spoke with a lawyer and the media.
After reading the review I read a someone saying about cool food she is absolutely right, this every time I go see my mother her food is cold I have to go and warm up her food, another issue is these patient always smelling like piss because they don't even shower them some of these patient has dementia we family put them in their care trusting they going to take care of our love, but what I see I'm going to transfers her some where that they care, this place should be investigated,ASAP
TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE FROM THE HOUR THEY TRANSFERRED MY MOTHER HERE... THEY HAD NO SUPPLIES ON TOP OF GHAT HER ROOM WASNT SET UP FOR HER. ( no feeding tube , trach sunction, gauze pads etc.) ON TOP OF THAT THEY LEFT MY MOTHER ALONE IN THE ROOM FOR OVER A HR WITH OUT CHECKING ON HER
FAMILY WAS ALSO NOTIFIED THAT THERE WAS TRANSPORTATION FIVE DAYS A WEEK THEN FOR US TO GET THERE AND ITS ONLY 3 DAYS A WEEK FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. AND SOMETIMES YOU CANT GET 3 DAYS . THEY DONT CARE IF YOU GET TO SEE YOUR LOVED ONES.EVERYTHING MANAGEMENT EXPLAINED TO ME WHEN I WENT TO TOUR THE PLACE WAS A LIE DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONE THERE THEY ARE FRAUDS THEY JUST WANT YALL MONEY TO TOP IT OFF CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS
I can t really rate this facility but I took a tour and the place seemed nice and clean. I was seriously contemplating transferring my grandmother to this facility but all of these recent negative reviews has me very hesitant. I want to feel comfortable transferring her to a nursing home better than her current one. Are these issues being addressed and rectified with the families?
Horrible place. I went with a friend to see her aunt and it was heart breaking to watch as the staff ignored the patients who tried to get their attention for help. I have been here a few times with my friend and I'm watching her aunt get worse and I truly believe it's because she is getting horrible care here. For example once my friends aunt wet the bed and we kept trying to get someone to help change the sheets and no one would so we ended up taking the wet sheets off ourselves and cleaning her aunt. I'm so scared that her aunt will end up with bedsores if they continue to ignore and treat her this way.
THE PHONE SERVICE HAS BEEN OUT OF SERVICE SINCE 12/16/2018 IMAGINE IF YOU HAVE YOUR LOVE ONE THERE AND YOU CAN NOT CALL AND REACH YOUR LOVE ONE ALL THREW THE HOLIDAYS UP UNTIL RIGHT NOW THE PHONE SERVICE SUCKS YOU CAN NOT EVEN REACH ANY PERSONAL AFTER BUSINESS HOURS. AND THE SO CALLED SECURITY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE THE OPERATOR'S ALL THEY DO IS TALK ON THE PHONES THEY ARE NO HELP, THE NURSE STATION'S NEVER PICK UP.. ITS A SHAME YOU CAN'T CALL YOUR LOVE ONE TO SAY GOOD NIGHT. TO BE FAIR IF THIS PLACE DID NOT HAVE / ALLOW THIS PHONE PROBLEM TO EXSITS IT COULD BE A 5 OR 4 STAR RATING NURSING HOME IN NYC.. BUT BECAUSE THEY ARE ALLOWING THIS BS TO GO ON HIRING SOME 2 CLOWNS TO UPGRADE THEIR PHONE SYSTEMS THEY NOW SUCK AND I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE SEND THEIR LOVE ONE THERE... PARTICULARLY IF YOU OR HAVE FAMILY MEMBERS OUT OF TOWN !
Its a wonderful place to recover from an illness or injury, very professional people and great customer service ,I once worked there so I always recommend there to everyone, that need a rehab.
We have a family member at this place and we are working on getting our love one removed due to the lack of care, the rude staff. People stealing stuff, cold food. It is just so much negative at this place. They really need to be reported and investigated
Very upset and angry disappointed with the way I find my dad when I go visit him. He is laying on the bed with dirty diapers smelling like urine his bed is Wet and The Staff never know what s going on when you ask them about the conditions you find your love one in.i have to wash him and change his diaper myself and change his bed sheets because he is laying on urine. It is unacceptable and very unprofessional
When my husband was moved from the second floor to the third floor his teeth and phone got lost and his glasses broke. He had a urinary tract infection that went undetected for weeks causing him to be confused and disoriented. When his insurance ran out and he had to stay because I was in a rehab. When I took him home he couldn't even stand up! Hardly ever able to reach personnel or nurses station.
My mother had a heart attack and a major knee injury at the same time. She was hospitalized for a month and then needed to do rehab in order to be able to walk again. A friend of mine recommended Workman s Circle and we took her there. She stayed there for 9 weeks and enjoyed her stay fully.
The entire staff was amazing. The nurses, the health aids, the admin people and physical therapist. Everyone there has such big hearts and it was truly astonishing to see how much they all care and love what they do.
Sonny, the director of the physical therapy department, and both her personal therapists Eddie and Kevin, were absolutely incredible with my mother. They were incredibly knowledgeable and patient with her throughout her time there. I seriously couldn t be any happier with all three of these therapists and what they were able to do concerning my mother. She came in unable to walk and left being able to walk with confidence. She still has a long way to go but is encouraged to press forward based on what she learned while there.
I completely recommend anyone considering Workman s Circle. It was an amazing experience and I m so grateful for what they did for my mother. I can guarantee you that you won t regret choosing them.
My mother 76, was at this facility for recovery post covid!
How on earth is it humanly possible that social work discharged her home without home care services, no follow up and they are still billing her insurance a WHOLE month later after she was sent home!!!! Social Work has not reached out nor have they responded to numerous calls ...shut em down!!!!!!!!!
WORKMAN CIRCLE IS satan's domain: well my dad was there for only 5 days for REHAB, and he died!!! I witnessed how inefficient the staff is on the 4th fl. There was one called Ms. Martinez who I came short of wringing her neck. She is very lazy and disgustingly fresh. My dad wanted water and she tild me to give it to him myself, mind you it was my first time there and I didn't know where anything was at; also she knew he couldn't have regular water he needed the honey thick, so why didn't she go get it??? As a result, I gave my dad ice chips. Whoever is in charge of her and the other wreckless workers should device a way on snooping on them. They are inhumane and ultimately undesirable!!! My daddy didn't look happy there and I didn't understand why, but looking at the outcomes now I do. Daddy sorry for placing you in this outrageous and degrading place, "hell on earth!" Sorry dad!!!
Workmen's Circle is a beautiful facility. The staff treated me wonderful, When I came to visit a family friend. I saw how the worker's treated the patients it was with care, kindess and love. I would recommend this facility to an elderly or disabled person.
Too many bad experiences to mention But roaches come to mind. Very rude nurses and cna. The cna's are very fresh to the patients yelling at them all the time. They wear so much perfume OMG.
While visiting, one of the residents was asking to to go to her room to have her diaper changed. What was distressing was that she was continuously ignored by the staff.
Always issues with the phones like now . I can t get in touch with my father or any one else smh Why nobody like too answer the phone when it is working.
Grandmother with Alzheimer has been here for 3 years and many things have occured. The place is understaffed especially on the weekends where I have come in at 11:00AM on Saturday and Sunday and see only 1 Nurse and 2 Activity Assistants in each wing on the 6th Floor. My grandmother has so far had her clothes, glasses, and dentures missing from her room. Some days my grandmother is not groomed properly and no dressed warmly since the air conditioner's are on all the time and she can't take the cold. My mother pays over $1000 a month to have her kept there and they have yet replaced her glasses and dentures though the Nurse said the Doctor has ordered them and it has been two months. I come in at various times during the week, usually Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the mid-late Afternoon and I see my grandmother along with most of the patients sitting in the cafeteria with the television on but no activity to keep them occupied. Not even a newspaper or puzzle book or crossword puzzle. The place is decently clean and the staff are friendly but they are working with a skeleton crew almost all the time. Since the decision was my mother and not my own I would have to say for being charged so much money to take care of an elderly person I would expect at least more staffing and to have her glasses and dentures replaced as soon as possible since she can't see very well without them. But medication wise and treatment of her well being is very well. Still haven't replaced her glasses or dentures 3 years later.
Update as of May of 2014: After making a complaint to the ombudsman and state department about the facility in January after seeing her with two black eyes and the nurses stating she fell (apparently they couldn't get in contact when calling the family members). It appears that they transferred my grandmother to Bronx Park Rehabilitation after stating she got into a dispute with a resident. Although they told me this after they transferred her already without giving the members a chance to appeal as my mother(grandma daughter) was discharge from the hospital the day before. They stated that they she was a danger to staff and residences. My grandmother is blind in one eye and can't see past 6 inches on her good eye. On top of that she speaks spanish only and was only arguing about not getting her meds when she mistaken the residence as a nurse. I went to St. Barnabas Nursing Facility to see other places besides Bronx Park Rehab and although its a smaller facility I would prefer it since they have a CNA on every floor who job is to answer phone calls from doctors, staff, and family members 24 hours a day and on top of that its clean and connected to the main hospital by a walkway. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DON'T HAVE A FAMILY MEMBER HERE AS IF YOU COMPLAIN AGAINST THEM LEGALLY THEY WILL FIND A LOOPHOLE TO RETALIATE AGAINST YOU. Also the funny thing is when i questioned staff and nurses they seemed conflicted and on a personal note I work law enforcement and can tell nobody had their story straight of what occur and what reason.
Attention family who wants to find a good nursing home for their love one. This facility workmen circle is the worst place to have your love one live my mother was living in this nursing home I headed to take her out, she was mistreated the food is always cold, her pamper wasn't change she had a bad burn in her b....please check a place before taking ur love one nursing home
Ms. Jenkins on the 4th floor is an amazing employee! She is very kind hearted and speaks so gentle to the patients. Workmen s Circle is lucky to have her! I ve seen how she is with her patients firsthand. God bless her!
This place has told a bunch of lies to my family and myself. They reeled us in, than turned their backs on us. Peter, the nursing supervisor need more customer service training, as well as a lot of the other staff. Workmen circle is very short staff during the night hours,. i stay with my aunt as long as possible during those hours, because I know she will not get the attention she needs. As far as transportation PLEASE DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE. By them providing transportation for you, that gives them a heads up you're coming so by the time you arrive it looks as if your love one is being taking care of. Very Nice Clean Place, but what glitters on the outside isnt always pretty in the inside. Please look deep into the nursing homes when it comes to your love ones. Workmen circle isn't it. PERIOD!!!!!!!!
I have been working for our organization for a total of 5 years and counting. 3+ years in one of our facilities in the Bronx (WCMCC) and almost 2 years now in our corporate. All I can say is that I m very proud to be a part of this organization. I started as a regular staff and worked my way up. They continue to nurture and train me to advance in my professional career. The care for our residents is always our top priority. I was given the opportunity to work with different staff across our organization and they are very hardworking. The organization never stops in creating programs that will benefit our residents and improve customer service. God bless us all!
My family member is under served . I state this because was extremely dirty and took 2 hours to wash up after dinner. I got names and pictures to validate their state and I'm appalled at her condition
I had my mother there for Rehab and the staff were exceptional, her care was beyond our expectations. The staff were always attentive and communicated with us in regards to my mom's progress. Workmen Circle helped make my mother strong and healthy again.
My grandmother is in here just to learn how to walk again becus both her legs got taken off. And it's taking long for her to get the help that she needs. And her room have mice! I dont really like her here. They need to fix this place up... ASAP
My sister is a resident there. I have visited numerous times in the mornings about 9 am, after breakfast. She is unable to stand. She sits in a dirty diaper all day, until she is put to bed . I have asked numerous times for someone to help and the assistants basically just ignore me. It is like that with all the residents. Their pleas are ignored. It is unfortunate that insurance and other factors determine where one goes for rehabilitation. In short, the residents do not get the care needed.
My mom has been there for a few days so far. We have met a couple of nice staff members so far. Yesterday my mom called crying and very upset because of the following: 1. There was no one to help her out of bed until 11AM 2. They seem to be short staffed ( the food gets to her cold) 3. She was left on the bedpan so long that a mail visitor walked in on her 4. She was put on the toilet even though her chart stated she was to use a bedpan- it took over 4 people to get her off the toilet ( she has very little use of her entire right side. I'm not sure how I feel about this place so far.
Service seems decent . Overall clean. The workers for the most part are friendly., not the most helpful. It s conviently located for travelers. The only real nock. Would be the various texts and solicitation calls to request these reviews!
My grandmother fell out off bed and the staff kept telling us she was okay but we insisted that she go to the hospital. Turned out she had a fractured knee. Ever since she went here she's never been the same. I thought they would help her recover from an injury due to falling. Unfortunately, she has been unable to walk for months and must stay there long term. We're trying to get here out of there....waiting on Medicaid. She also got bed sores from lack of movement and was sent to the hospital for pneumonia. I feel bad for anyone that has to send their loved ones to this place. I hope that the administration would do something to improve the level and care and safety that these elderly people need. I wish they would put themselves in their shoes. There is but so much that a single nurse can do with so many patients yelling out for help. They need more nurses. Would the administration want to be a patient there? Would they want their loved ones to stay in a place like this? I don't think so!!!!
My experience has always been pleasant when I visit Workman Circle. The front desk guard greets you and is very professional by making sure that you are directed in a timely manner. The staff are very friendly and has always made me feel welcome. There s always a sense of warmth throughout this facility. The environment is also always clean. Although, I have never had a loved one admitted to this facility, I have visited clients time and time as a part of my job and my clients has never expressed anything negative about their stay and we re always clean when I visited them. Each visit has always been the same for me.
Sadly, my grandmother has passed on but her last 2 years at workmen's circle were awesome for both her and her family. We never had to worry that she was dirty or uncared for. there were plenty of arts and crafts and different activities every day. Her care was top notch and It was a beautiful place to bring our children to see her as well. Thank you for taking care of her till the end. I will always hold your staff in my prayers for being gentle and loving with her. Even with alzheimer's and dementia, her eyes lit up when she recognised her favorite care givers. thank you!
The staff is professional, courteous and welcoming. The facility is beautifully designed with bright artwork, modern furniture and overall very clean. You can smell the delicious food coming from the dining room throughout the hallways. Most importantly our relative has received excellent care and feels respected.
A little bumpy start but all issues were resolved by a courteous and professional staff. I always find my grandmother clean, and happy. She seems well cared for. I live in another state so staff is always willing to take the time to speak with me and even put my grandmother on the phone. I am very satisfied with the service.
They realy take care of thepatients here. And therooms are very clean the food is good very nice people here glad my moms is getting the care she needs at rhis place
Everyone was friendly and greeted you no matter what floor you were on. The staff seemed pleased to be at work. I was happy my brother was in good hands. Thank you for your kindness.
The facility is clean, has friendly, helpful and professional staff who seem genuinely interested in the residents. My family member appeared to be well cared for and we are thankful for the care that he has been receiving.
My aunt was a patient there and we weren t pleased with the experience. She fell down while in their care and got worst after this. The facility is ok if you are able to care for yourself otherwise is not recommended
What a Beautiful facility with a beautiful Staff to match! I couldn't help but commend out loud some of the Staff I came in contact with on the elevator and throughout - such infectious smiles and attitudes!
My dad s cousin is currently in this facility and the care he receives there is below average. We recently went to visit him and found a roach infestation in his room. I brought it to the attention of the floor staff and their reaction to the roaches was nonchalant.
My father is in there .they are giving him food he can't eat and too small of a portion. They are feeding him dry sandwiches. He has had mold in his room not to mention the poor care they show in this said place. Most of the staff are rude and inciderate to people. He has gotten infections due to lack of proper care in this facility. To be honest your facility needs to be investigated.
My mom was just put in this facility for rehab and dialysis and the 1st night of Dialysis she had fallen and was left to wait for transport for over and hour after her Dialysis and she informed the staff she had to have a bm and No one took her to the bathroom and she went on herself .No nurse attended to her care a that time for her needs this is a shame and i made a formal complaint for this not a good feeling to have your mom in a rehab facility with care that is half ass!!
Larry-you guys were great but every review regarding the transport is so true-and so unfortunate-admissions and Jessica are completely unforhcomiming rude and misleading ,and that was a major reason why i didn't bring dad back there-Larry-new families are NOT TOLD the truth about transport!!!thanks again for being our friend -while we were there-if you need to reach out-its Rebecca Mitchell
Worst one ever. I have a relative here and the type of care i saw her get from one of the nurses was heart breaking. I wont recommend this place to anyone. If something is not done to reeducate the staff here about client's right, then i don't know at which direction we are heading
This is the worst place ever. They messed up my mother's Medicaid application never sent it in. My mother was sitting around doing nothing for months before she passed July 3, 2017. They have the residents sitting in those hard wheel chairs all day doing nothing. I will never recommend this place. And that's just for my mother, will not speak about my father's stay.
Worst place to have a love one in care of the one who is given a 5 star is because you work at this place so you're will rate it a 5 when deep inside your heart you know this is one of the worst place then u have Larry who answer your comments and write on call me I will fix your problem and he doesn't answer his calls so family don't take your live one here this place will be investigated
I visited someone on 5 North and was immediately impressed with the cleanliness of the ward and the courtesy and professional ism of the staff. It's inevitable to experience unpleasant odors at nursing homes and rehab facilities from incontinent patients , etc., yet this place was immaculately clean and odor free. The patients are clean, well clothed, hair done, and in good spirits. Excellent facility which is rare.
My mother was at this facility from Jan, 2014 until she passed in July, 2014. This facility is fantastic, from the administrators to the nursing staff to the physical therapist tthe kitchen and maintenance staff, as well. They took such good care of my mother, I could not have asked for a better facility to place her in (and she has been in others that I would not recommend anyone). They took time her especially when she stopped feeding herself. They actually cared for the residents as if they were family. I told my daughter that if I ever have to be in a Nursing Facility to please put me in WCMCC. Thank you for care you gave my mother and the family after her passing.
Melissa Troche's experience is very much what I went through with my mother. Once she was removed from the second floor to the fourth, it was a movement to a worse hell. She was moved because her "room mate did not get along with her", (my mother did not speak nor could she move from her bed) and the other version was that she was deemed a short-term resident. I was never able to get a straight answer When being informed via phone about the transfer, I requested that they wait for my brother and that she be oriented by a Spanish-speaking nurse.. She was just transferred and when my brother reached, she was literally hoarse from trying to call for water. No water pitcher, no working call-button, and she was, it seems, simply ignored. On the second floor, she was across from the nurses' counter and at least was in view. In this other part of hell, she was about five rooms away from the nurses' station, she was wheeled to the eating area for breakfast and left there for lunch and dinner along with others who could not walk . It was an unbearable site seeing these old and fragile seniors bobbing their heads left, right, front, back for hours sitting in wheel chairs. The reason: they were considered bed-fall risks. As with my mother, they were not. They could not even turn in their beds, but making them comfortable would have required work on the part of the nurses that they just don't have. Also, when calling to check up on her status, no matter what time I called, the phone just rang for over 30 - 40 minutes and many times more. At one time the staff member, sounding exhausted, indicated that she was in charge of all patients in the dining area which included feeding, and also the reception counter.
By the time I got there after a four day delay due the NY snow storm, my mother was so ill that she had to be taken to emergency. She was deemed dehydrated, had urinary track infection, kidney mal function, 400 + sugar level, stool back-up and other very serious problems. After the hospital stay, she was placed in another nursing facility where she received much better care, but never fully recovered.
In terms of trying to reach supervisors and social workers, I faced the same situation as described by Melissa. Once the social workers were changed, the new ones didn't seem to know much about the case. When my brother made attempts to complain, he was given the run-around. The "supervisor" made some calls and indicated that the matter would be resolved.
My encounter with this nursing facility is one that I will regret for the rest of my life.
Be alert when checking these facilities. What they show you on the tours is not what you will get.
Horrible place to leave your loved ones. Very unprofessional... From the so called Nurse, Mrs. Stern who has a disgusting attitude. I I'm shocked this maggot of a person is allowed to be around families and loved ones. So rude, you talk to her and she won't even look at you. And when she does there's nastiness pouring out of her. To the half assed supervisors who continuously lie to cover their asses. If there is anything you could possibly do to assist your loved ones... Take them to another facility. And to top it all off Workmen's Circle, is infested with mice. Do not leave your loved ones here if at all possible.
Absolutely horrible place. My grandmother has been there for about 2 weeks and she has a Negative-pressure wound therapy which is like a vacuum connected through a tube on her leg for an infection that is not healing well due to her diabetes. This machine has to be on at all times as instructed by the doctor, yet every time we go to visit the machine is off. When my father confronted her social worker (Annette Williamson) about it she kept smirking so he asked her for her supervisor and she said she didn't know who her supervisor was again with her little smirk. Larry Adams, I see you respond to most reviews and I hope you do see this and know that my father and I are going tomorrow to have a very serious conversation because this is completely unacceptable.
The visit to my cousin was pleasant. Quick check in. Overall the hospital was very clean. The entire staff was pleasant and professional. I will be back to visit
I absolutely love this rehabilitation center! From the moment I viewed it to bring my mom here I've enjoyed the energy! It's brighter than other facilities and the presence is always welcoming! The staff both administrative and medical assist and make time for any questions or concerns. The activities are fun and the beauty of the facility is amazing! Fish tanks and water falls, the modern gym is amazing! The mini home is amazing to practice basic skills before going home! I would like to thank the staff who plans the upkeep and decorations because the thought that goes in to the coloring, the paintings, the decor is impeccable and vibrant! Thank you woman's circle for making it comforting that when I leave my mom behind I know she's in good hands!
The staff was very nicr and welcoming, they had musoc playing and all the elderly were talking with each other and looked happy. My grandmothers room was very nice and clean the bed was made and the bathroom was clean. Everything was very clean. The only thing was the visitor bathroom smelled like pee and wasnt very clean but everything else was fine. Thank You
My mother was visiting her father today and as she was leaving she encountered a nurse who she believed just started the evening shift my mother let her know that her father was ringing for oxygen the nurse was rude and dismissive and never even acknowledged my mother's presence..my grandfather has been in your care for three days and he has a couple of weeks of rehabilitation in your facility...is this unprofessional behavior is what is acceptable at this facility or was it hopefully just an employee having a bad day
Worked there and to tell u the truth there s way more wrong in that place than right...Too many supervisors and not enough supervision; some regulars (few nurses and 85% CNAs) definitely BOSS the non regulars around and it s very discouraging at times. Besides , the point is I was actually doing great (3months in finally getting the hang of things) until my distress started to turned into anger. So instead of making matters worse. I simply went to get help (thought to quickly removed myself frm situation/insults) but I couldn t find Charge RN. So I went downstairs for a supervisor as told during orientation and basically everything backfired...
Worst service ever made several attempts to speak with the social worker Jessica hernandez voice mail every time static in the back ground, went to visit my love one and she takes chemo and they made her wait until 6pm to eat I had to go over to the nurse station and demand her food on top of that she had physical therapy and wasn't feeling to well that day because of the chemo the therapist told her if she didn't obey the rules of the facility they was going to ask her to leave the program who speaks to an elderly women like that she over 65 years of age. Please make sure you get every persons name that's handling your love one in this most disrespectful facility call a rehabilitation center.
Worst place to ever work. It's like a modern day plantation only thing leave for them to do is walk behind you with a whip like in the slavery times... Poor management and they over work their staff esp the rn they have to attend to 40+ patients hense putting their license that they worked so hard for at risk . That's why they have a high staff turn overs. The name says it right they really WORK you in CIRCLE...
