This place was a disaster from day one in every way possible. On intake the billing department wanted me to sign away my fathers income to sign up for a Medicaid plan when my father had appropriate coverage for his stay. They had been supplied that medical insurance and had no record of it. Then when I spoke to the supervisor I was told they were looking at the wrong patient. His phone line did not work for the first couple of weeks and neither did his push button to call a nurse. He got stuck on a potty for hours because the button did not work and the nurses do not check on them for hours. His sheets were wet when he arrived. It takes days or hours to get nurses to act on anything like changing the wet sheets they placed on the bed. The nurses station was disorganized. They got my dad prepped for a wound care appointment that he had already had the day before. The person who handled the transport arrangements was unpleasant and never arranged payment or transport until I called her. Food was never hot which is discouraging when you are trying to get a man who just came out of a comma back on solid foods. His pain management was poorly managed. He went from Fentynl to motrin and when he was in poin still they denied him anything else. When the doctor finally agreed to change his meds it took an additional 24 hours for the pharmacy to dispense the meds. His surgeon recommended a 10 day stay and they extended him to 21 days which is what the insurance covered. When asked why we were told that the physical therapist recommended it. When I spoke to the physical therapist he advised he released my father from physical therapy. When I kept asking for help with the social worker and trying to understand I was ignored. When I finally heard from a social worker it was a new social worker assigned to my fathers case and was not familiar with any of our issues. At discharge they failed to order the proper equipment that he needed. He sat for 10 hours waiting to be discharged and no equipment. He had to stay an extra night which was billed to him. DO NOT LEAVE ANYONE YOU CARE ABOUT HERE!
