God has left this building. You have to PAY to enter this house of god. I ve been to religious temples and churches around the world, many much older and just as beautiful, with rich histories. Never had I ever had to pay to enter. Many times when I enter these sacred places, I sit and reflect. I cannot do that here. Their reason for the entrance fee is to repair earthquake damage. Money is no issue for me, but it is for many people. I would have gladly donated in a donation box. National Cathedral has turned to another tourist trap for me. If you're poor or on a limited income, visit on Sundays, it's FREE.

Inspiring architecture. The stained glass windows are beautiful and diverse in their styles. We heard part of an organ concert, and loved the acoustics. There was an art exhibit throughout the crypt exploring contemporary issues of racism. We also walked in the gardens and enjoyed different dimensions of the cathedral. Spend time here and let your senses be filled!

So beautiful. We went up to the top floor and the views of the architecture were wonderful. The stained glass windows are lovely. We went to look for Darth Vader outside and a nice employee helped us find him.

This is a wonderfful, though slightly odd, cathedral. It looks and feels as an old building, while it was built the previous century - hence the Darth Vader gargoyle and such. Great views of the city.

Came for a morning service with my fiance. We felt very welcomed. Inclusive and friendly environment where you will feel very comfortable. The building itself is beautiful and well worth visiting. The windows are particularly impressive. Easy to park here and it was free for the service. Whether you go to worship, or just enjoy the architechture, this is a great place to visit while in the DC area.

Are we guilty of doing the same thing ISIS is criticized for - destroying art that represents something we no longer believe in or want to believe? All Americans are against slavery and it is a sad part of our history, however a few people have used the Southern flag to represent something wrong. For a Southerner the flag represents the South, not hatred. It is tragic that a few sick people use the Southern Flag to represent their hatred.

Very beautiful cathedral that accepts persons of all faiths. Built mostly in the gothic style by hand beginning in 1907. While having religious themes, there are several important historical events incorporated into the cathedral as well. For example, the 1st orbit of the moon and our branches if government are depicted in the stain glass windows. It's a $12 cost to tour on your own, but the guided tours occur at no additional cost once you are in. Tour guide was very well informed and polite. We were able to tour several chapels and a 7th floor observatory. Don't miss this on your visit to DC.

A culturally rich Palm Sunday liturgy, "Motzart's Requiem" complete with an awesome orchestra and stunning soloists was performed at the National Cathedral on April 14 ,2019. Arriving early allowed easy access to advanced purchase tickets, a walk around splendid gardens and choice close by street parking.

I have visited the Washington National Cathedral twice so far, both on Sunday morning. Every time I have visited, I have noticed new features that I didn't notice during my last visit. I would love to visit this place again!

I was suprised by the very rude and impolite reception I received! It was not a pleasant experience. Which is shocking to me, because I have heard such good reviews about it. I would recommend they replace their very impolite and unreceptive staff.

Standing in front made me feel infinitesimal. The beauty is spectacular. The symbolism sometimes a bit abstract but nonetheless important. Was able to spot the Darth Vader Grotesque as well. To far for a clear photo.

Beautiful space inside the building and outside. The cathedral itself has so many nooks and crannies that I still don't think I've seen all of it but it is always fun to walk around. The staff is helpful and there is also a very large gift shop. Went to some of events and they are well organized.

Beautiful stained glass windows. The volunteer guides were quite knowledgeable. There's a lot of history represented here. There's even a piece of the actual moon in one of the stained glass windows! Quite remarkable.

Do you like big buildings? How about big COOL buildings? This ones pretty great. It can be a little tough to find times to get inside, but when you do it's classic cathedral awesomeness.
They also do cool events, like last night they did a light show inside the cathedral (see the picture).
One of the downsides is that the tower is in perpetual repair and has scaffolding on it - but whatever - win some, lose some, at least it's still standing

Oh, also, they have a gargoyle that's actually Darth Vader. Nuff said.

Held my second funeral here in the Bethlehem chapel. What a very impressive Cathedral. Also, they have a Chapel to St. Joseph of Ameratheous who is the Patron Saint of the Funeral Director. He is the one who owned the Thomb in which Jesis was entombed until his Resurrection.

This cathedral is beautiful inside and outside. Its building is majestic and imposing. On the seventh floor is the observatory. There was a display of cribs of the baby Jesus from different countries. The stained glass windows and floors are beautiful. I recommend visiting this site in Washington DC and you have to pay to do the tour, students and teachers are half price and adults $ 12.I took a lot of photos.
