I wish I'd taken the time to see the Country before now. It is the sixth largest cathedral in the world and exceptionally well adorned. The stained glass is modern and magnificent. The arcades and nave are astounding and the chapels are exquisite. The Washington National Cathedral is a must see for any sightseeing trip in DC.

Spectacular place! Breathtaking architecture, the chapel is absolutely beautiful. Tickets were $12 per person. The stained-glass work is amazing. The volunteers will tell you stories about every piece, wish we had more time. Don't miss it while in DC!

The National Cathedral is one of the most amazing buildings period. Take a tour. Data mine the names on the walls. We got an informal private tour and the docent was great. It is the 20th century's time capsule.

I'm not religious but this place is so amazing. The architecture is absolutely astounding. There are lots of areas open to the public so you can almost get lost in all the passages, especially in the basement.

The cathedral radiated the glory made radiant by the faith of those who throng to it to worship our Lord. Perhaps today November 14/2014,,,the sanctioning of a political motivated/religion who will cut off your head fror being a Christian and being a follower of Lord Jesus,Son of God,,to enter in,bow down and worship one less than Christ is an abomination. I shall NEVER set foot in it again. The stage is being set for that of which Daniel spoke "let him who reads this understand". He spoke concerning the abomination of the desolation.

This was one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited! We made it just in time before the lights were shut off; but we still had a wonderful time seeing this breathtaking wonder from the inside. If you are EVER in DC, make this a TOP priority for your visit. It's incredible---to say the least. If only architecture looked like this today.

I got the opportunity to see our National Cathedral in Washington DC. I have only seen the Cathedral on television, and i was always impressed with its architectural beauty. The acoustic are perfect and all the school choirs had such great musical performances. If you get a chance to visit, do so, and enjoy taking a tour of the Washington National Cathedral.

Excellent place to visit for its architecture, history, national significance and spiritual contemplation. It's the finest place of worship I've visited thus far in north America. Instills a sense of peace.

Amazing architecture. Detail and beauty inside and out. It's hard to believe that such complicated construction took place in a time when modern machinery and tools weren't available. Worth seeing if you're in DC

Did the tower climb tour and it was well worth the 40$. Amazing sights and great history from a truely skilled tour guide. The only thing I'd reccomend on this tour is that if you are in the back of the line during the tour (a lot of it is done in narrow or small spaces through out the stair wells) you might want to really pay attention or you'll miss a lot if interesting info.

Every visitor to Washington should add the National Cathedral to their list. Spectacular architecture, stained glass, history, music and more. A beautiful structure but also a welcoming house of worship for all.

I'm not religious, but this is a gorgeous building. I've traveled a bunch in Europe and this is one of the only churches in America that had my jaw on the ground admiring the architecture. While it may not be that old (built in the 1900's) the Gothic style taken from churches in the UK is extremely classic and beautiful.

My family took me to the Evensong here which was nice, and I was very impressed with the wooden seating area that looks like Westminster Abbey. The service was nice with a very impressive organ, and a nice choir.

This place is definitely worth a stop in if you have religious people in your life, or even if you just like beautiful buildings. Parking is free for the first 30 minutes, and also free during services.

The "Behind The Scenes" tour was awesome. I have never had a tour that exceeded my expectations more than this one did. This was absolutely our favorite tour of our entire trip to DC. The scale and grandeur of this building is mind-boggling. On our tour we parts of the building that I never would have thought possible. We went on the roof (kind of) we were actually in the gutter. We saw the attic so to speak and got an up close look at the Creation Rose Window.

The Washington National Cathedral is a slice of Europe in NW DC. Unlike the old European cathedrals, this one is newer (It was finished in the 90s I believe), but it still has the same awe appeal as the European cathedrals.

Before the earthquake in 2011, it was free to visit, but since the damages from the earthquake cost millions, visitors now must pay $11 "suggested" donation. Once inside, you can explore the cathedral (Note: It's not catholic, but Episcopal). Each stain glass window is unique and tells a story and if you catch the sun at the right time, the colorful display against the Indiana limestone is gorgeous.

A few key things to see: Make sure you go up to the other floors of the cathedral to look down on the sanctuary and for a great view of Washington, DC. Also, be sure to see Woodrow Wilson and his wife's grave inside the main floor. He's the only US president to be buried in DC (He was an elder at the cathedral).

If you want a DC adventure, sign up to do the bell tower climb. It's a great, unique DC experience.

Highly Recommend a visit to the Washington National Cathedral - even if you are not religious. The Gothic building design and attention to detail is amazing. The gargoyles are very interesting and so is the history - took over a 100 years to build. Sunday afternoons are a good time to visit as the parking in the cathedral is not full and less people are around.

Being a frenchy, I was really chocked and disappointed because you had to pay to go in! And it was a bit expensive too. I think a charity gift or smth like that would be more appropriated...

Take the tour! It's beautiful and well worth the hour's walk. The interior is currently under construction from the earthquake, but you can still go to most areas of the cathedral. The exterior is also beautiful, walk the grounds if you can.

ALSO, there is a FUDGE SHOP inside. A FUDGE SHOP!! Delicious treats, and a great way to donate dinero back to this national treasure.

Had a wonderful time touring the national cathedral with a tour organized by the Lititz public library. Or tour guide Jean was very well informed and handled our group or 44 with ease. A very nice place to visit .

The National Cathedral is among the best in the United States, in my opinion, with a strongly traditional design with a few modern twists. Be sure to take the time to enjoy the upper level, as it gives a unique perspective on the architecture you can't always get at a European cathedral.
