Great Sunday stop to attend mass or just learn about the beautiful building and grounds!
Beautiful building both inside and out! The architecture is stunning and the stories behind it are fascinating. Listen closely on the tours, and be sure to take some time afterwards to really soak in everything around you. Regardless of ones religion, this is a building to be appreciated and respected.
The charm of this neo-Gothic or Gothic-modern cathedral is undeniable. Its architecture full of stained glass windows that play with light and all its incredible ornaments make it worthy of a detailed visit.
I'm glad i visited this place.. Its massive!! I was exhausted after the tour but it was worth it. The history and the architecture is something cool. Will return
Very beautiful and strong in feeling of various things America, God, our founding fathers and great people in our history. Very humbling regardless of faith or belief.
Beautiful building. Noon Eucharist service in the Bethlehem Chapel was very nice. I loved the creche exhibits, also.
Nice but Westminster Abbey better. The cathedral was apparently modeled on it.
It was 2:30 in the afternoon and the doors were locked. So out of state family was not able to go in.
Pretty building, but $12 for general admission to a place of worship is odd to me. And I m not even religious.
Far better than advertising suggests. Never seen anything like this on this side of the pond.
Very Beautiful building inside and out. The detail is unreal everywhere you look. You will not be disappointed going here.
Attended an donation based organ recital here. Beautiful program in a beautiful space.
An absolutely beautiful cathedral not too far from other iconic D.C. landmarks! It s relatively inexpensive to get in, however I found that the tours were a bit overpriced, in my opinion. Besides that, the church is fabulous, showcasing some of the greatest architecture you ll find in the US. I highly recommend visiting this church!!!
A beautiful cathedral where I attended an inspiring Sunday mass during Lent. The 7th floor provides a great view of the DC area.
Not big on going to church so cant speak for everybody but it was a beautiful church and had much meaning to it and every stained glass had a meaning
This cathedral is simply amazing. Sadly it was closed when we visited so all we could do was walk around it. The size and architecture is just stunning. We will be back so that we can go inside.
Beautiful cathedral and tour guide.
Would love to go again!
Majestic! Went for Christmas mass. Don't forget to go downstairs; plenty of stuff to see!
The enterance fee is worth every penny. Observation floor gives a complete panoramic view of DC and surrounding cities
The annual Independence Day Concert is fantastic! It's free and open to the public, so arrive early for best seating choice.
Such a beautiful structure and a sight to see. You can even go for mass. It would be difficult to follow along while taking in the Staind glass, arches and just the pure aww of architecture.
A wonderful cathedral, interesting history, beautiful stain glass, architecture, and sculptures. Recommend visiting after spending some time at the nearby National Zoo.
I'm not even religious and it made me want to be catholic.
Breathtaking! An architectural and Spiritual wonder - Peace inside.
Washington National Cathedral (Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul) is the main cathedral of the Anglican Episcopal Church of the USA. The cathedral was built from 1907 until 1990. At first I thought that a very old building. Entrance to the Cathedral is paid. There is a spiral staircase to the observation deck overlooking the city.
Seeing the Cathedral for the first time is truly breathtaking. When I turned the corner and saw it, I was so stunned with how beautiful and huge the building was! I feel like the look of this building makes you think that it should have been built in Europe centuries ago. The features on the outside of the building are so unique and it has the most gorgeous stain glass windows all around the building and even more inside. I was most surprised at how big it really was on the outside. Even the main hall was cool to look at and definitely worth making the trip for.
If you visit Washington DC you most make a stop here and enjoy the architecture and history of the cathedral. Is accessible and have parking.
Took my little girl there first time. Great for photography!
We came here at night. Enough to see it is huge, wish i could be there during day time and visit inside the cathedral
Amazing place to visit with beautiful stain glass windows.
The Cathedral was magnificent, me and my girlfriend went to a prom event there on valentine's day.. the architecture was amazing and the size stunned us.. I'm leaving a 5 star review due to the aspects of the Cathedral and not how the event was planned out.. the DJ for the event was very boring, playing songs that were very old and didnt really appeal to a younger generation.. only by the time we were leaving did they actually start playing something we would really dance to, play better music sooner and we would have stayed longer.. the lighting and fog displays were good though
Spectacular building, amazing architecture. Attend church for free or pay $10.00 for a tour.
I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was wowed by this place. A must see.
Huge cathedral. A service was going on. We attended a part of it but couldn't actually do a proper tour... The parts we did see are magnificent.
Definitely next time...
The cathedral is a Gothic architectural wonder, you're greeted with a statue of Abraham Lincoln and his immense attachment to the cathedral, the windows all donated from various walks of life is so open that it features space exploration among many other things, there's Woodrow Wilson's tomb, plenty of chapels of which the Bethlehem chapel and the Resurrection chapels underground remains a personal favorite, try to go on the guided tour and if possible visit Sunday afternoon because admission and parking is free .
Loved it. Kind of out of the way but worth the trip to get there while in DC. One of the greatest teachers in history Anne Sullivan along with her pupil who is also an Amazing lady , Helen Keller both test here. The building itself is Awesome. If you like historical architect you ll enjoy this place.
Stunning Cathedral. Beautiful architecture with fabulous stained glass windows. Great colums and intricate vaulted ceilings. Magnificent artwork. Peaceful and inviting grounds. Our visit was a delightfully uplifting experience.
Must visit. Very huge 5 areas to worship in. A beautiful children's chapel. Breath taking.
A beautiful place for prayer or quiet meditation. Lovely and inspiring.
Fun afternoon as there was a flower and crafts show on. The interior was majestic as we're the lawn and the Bishop's Garden
What more can be said of this national treasure of ours!! It is our Blessing!!
Get voted President of our GREAT nation and you can have your funeral here in grand style!! Until then come worship here and be respectful!!
Still doing repairs from the earthquake. Still a great place to visit. The new underground parking is great.
The most amazing church in DC. History of the life of this great nation is all throughout the Cathedral. All are welcome to worship and tour.
It is the largest church in Washington and the very best of the United States. Impressive masterpiece. There are references for every continent
Always wonderful to visit the National Cathedral. Such a wonderful place to pause and reflect
Great edifice for worship- in both tradition and contemporary music.
MLK choir in celebration of 50 years past the memorable sermon.
This is the first time that I see an admission price to enter a church. It s $12 for adults. It s outrageous that this church asks you to pay as if it were an attraction. So since I thought it was beyond crazy, I told the lady that I was planning to go to the gift shop to buy things and obviously she let me pass through since it was money regardless. Thankfully, I was able to worship God without a price tag.
Place is stunningly beautiful. Staff is friendly and helpful. A must see if you are in the area. Don't forget to visit the gardens!!
It's so beutifull on the inside the beutifull all smooth sandstone and the colorful windows. If you're in Washington DC. Make sure to visit this place!!!
Beautiful place for Christmas celebration and worship. Awesome ancient architecture.
Amazing. Compares favorably to the cathedrals of England.
Gorgeous! I loved their Flower Festival! Nice grounds to walk around as well as a really beautiful building. Absolutely stunning stained glass, and when they have huge flower displays with the Flower Festival it makes for gorgeous photos. The church bells sound nice when they ring. Their fundraiser to build a lego model of the Cathedral to raise funds for rebuilding is a great idea and it seemed like kids in the gift store were super excited about it. I can't really speak to any religious services there but it was a great place to visit and walk around! Well worth a trip as photos don't really do it justice!
