I generally like this hospital but am beginning to hate it based off the parking. I am frequently here due to my mother having chronic issues that lands her here for number of stays. She basically lived here for a year about ten years ago. We prefer this hospital over Mercy. Visiting her has been a pain because of the parking. It was not too bad before. Now it s outrageous. Whoever created and made the drawing of the parking lots needs to be re-evaluate their job. The entrances to the lots are small so people have to pull out before someone can pull in or out. Then a few of the spots are just impossible for people to park in. And people are always crossing the street, no point in using the crosswalks because are at the ends of the streets! And two spots for plug in cars? Who honestly cares for them. They are never in use. If they are, it s because someone parks there when they don t want to park across the street. Fix the problem.

My nurse Josh P and Dr.Jansen were soo amazing. Even the er front desk young blonde girl. She kept a eye on me while I waited.
Josh P was amazing I had never had a man nurse but he was so warm, helpful, professional. Thank you Josh, I was high on morphine but I promised I I'd review your amazingness! Thank you for taking care of me

I was here as a patient. The doctors, the nurses and social workers here are very very dishonest and racist. Be warned. I'm glad my visit was recorded. They make false accusations on reports. A Very corrupted facility. Shame on them.

Day shift on maternity floor are awful!!!! Walked by the desk several times to go to the NICU and they were constantly bickering. Stacey, the head nurse, discussed other nurses behaviors, such as someone not showing up and cell phone use, at the desk in front of everyone. Easy to see why staff acts like they do with poor management! Night shift is completely opposite.

I cant say how it is now, I was here when the burn unit was still running. I wont go back bc of it. They treated that doctor like a god, he was rude and disrespectful to me and my family. My opinion didnt matter, nor my family's. My parents pulled me out of there and I'm glad they did.

ok, let me start by saying that my one star is due to one area of the hospital. the ob mother-baby unit refuses to staff a nursery nurse during the day. the director decided that babies should room with mothers instead. yes, that sounds fine and wonderful, but what if mom wants to take a nap, a shower, or is SICK? THEN the babies go out to the front desk. out in the open. not locked, and the nurses or secretary watch them. this is unacceptable and unsafe. all because they don't want to spend the money for the nursery nurse during the day. SHAME ON THEM. I worked in the ob unit at st lukes many years ago and we always had a nursery nurse staffed. what changed? THE BUDGET. shame on you, st. luke's, this is not the place to cut the budget.

No star. What happened to the quality of the ER department. Once they get that lab work back maybe they should check to see if the patient is still coherent. Or maybe they should check on the patient when they are calling for help. They should of came back in the room to ask if I was being abused by the staff. While going in to diabetic shock I was being screamed at by two nurses to "hold still" so they could do a EKG. They just kept screaming at me while I was asking for help. Them the nurse practitioner came in yelling in my face when a passing nurse heard what was going on and finally got me help. I tried leaving but I could not stand to walk out to the phone to call for a ride to Mercy. But the nurse practitioner was satisfied to learn I did not have a brain tumor. 6 hours 25 mins to treat my original reason for going to the ER, then the nurse practitioner told me to get better so she can leave...WONDERFUL SKIT FOR SNL
Only giving one start due to fact I can not post this without it.

Nurses dont bother with answering call lights, dont bother removing food trays until multiple meals trays have stacked up. My mother had to make her own trips to the bathroom hauling her iv rack because nurses didn't respond to calls, and she is a fall risk. Filed a complaint with the hospital, nothing changed.

Nice.

Just told my dad to give up and not fight cancer before he even starts treatment. They said he didn't even have cancer a few weeks ago. Had to go to Mayo Clinic to get a second opinion just to get it properly diagnosed. Absolutely incompetent.

Third baby for us. With our firt 2 never had any problems. This time the day nursing staff was awful. Anytime I needed something it was forgoten and had to keep asking. Was told baby's assessments would be done early in the morning and they did not come to do them until 11 at night. And when I asked questions about it I was not given any answers. During the day the only "nurse" that came in was a student by herself that seemed to not have a clue on what she was supposed to do. The absolute worst experience. Can not wait to get out of here.

We unfortunately made a trip to the ER after a boating accident. I was very impressed with the level of care from the nursing staff and our ER Doc. We were seen in a timely manner, a specialist was called in and arrived quickly. They were able to get surgery scheduled for the next morning and my daughter's pain was very well managed.

I would give them a zero rating if I could. Today my mother was brought in by ambulance. The lady at the emergency department window said to wait by the ambulance door as she has not arrived yet. That s when I encountered a nurse named More

I love the staff here! They make you feel like a person, and that they absolutely care about you getting well. I had to be admitted after my ER trip, and the staff made the transition easy. They explained everything, made sure to answer any and all questions. I genuinely felt cared for while there. I left feeling a million times better and with all the information I needed to start recovery on my own. I love this hospital and the wonderful staff who cared for me.

I had a horrible experience in the ER!!!! Yes, they were busy but I can understand since it was Memorial Day. However, they DON'T care!!!!! They want you in and out and FAST!!!! I had severe feet pain due a previous surgery and just coming out of a wheelchair and into a walker and standing. First they wanted to check for blood clots. Very good, as they should. But she didn't even look at my feet. I had to take my socks off to show her after being in there for 5 min. Then she said well it looks like Neuropathy and you need to see a neurologist. I lost it!!!! I have been going through so much the last 4 years adding something else to my health issues was not what I wanted to hear. Then she proceeded to tell me that I have a low pain tolerance. You have got to be kidding me!!!!! First off, I have been through so pain in the last 4 and gave me a very short acting pain shot. At this time a new doctor shows up and years my pain tolerance is so high some people would not be able to live through what I have had to live through due to pain levels. But this, this was incredible pain hence my trip to the ER. So they wanted to just take blood to see about a blot clot says he wants a sonogram of my leg (for blood clot).. He chose just one leg because it was the one that was most swollen (swollen because I have bursitis in my knee). He did not take a look at it he didn't even come in to see me. He just went by the notes from the previous doctor. After everything came back normal and my pain had all come back, the doctor came in and said I have Edema and gave me 1 water pill and sent me on my way. He did not want to be in there to answer any of my questions he just wanted me out. So I left the same way as I went in. Turns out I just had tight and inflammation ligament/tendon problems in my feet which causes severe pain.

My grand daughter was born at this hospital and they couldn't even get her birth weight right, their excuse was someone must have left a rag on the scale. My grand daughter is now only 4 pounds 9 oz. Kinda small to be messing up a birth weight. Also the place was dirty and the nurses were terrible! Out of 4 days only one nurse was nice. I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone!!!

Seriously the doctor was a joke I was sat on a chair in the middle of the hallway to have my blood drawn no nurse ever checked on me doctor did not want details of what was going on very unprofessional without a doubt Mercy is best only reason I went to unity point was because it had to do with Birth control but I regret wasting my time I bet urgent care would of taken me more serious!

I would not recommend going to the ER in this hospital if at all possible. I came in with a very large spider bite which I had gotten after being in contact with boxes loaded from an Asian food truck. Four hours after the bite it became a golf ball size lesson of necrotic skin. The doctor argued with me and said it was an old bruise. I tried explaining that it had started as a small bite that grew from earlier that day and I would notice a wound that large on my buttock but he would not listen. He told me if was healing quiet well and advised I do nothing unless the scab doesn't come off on its own, in which case he would recommend a surgeon...
When the scab did fall off a week later, I did my best to keep it clean but it was already infected. After seeing another doctor I received special dressings and antibiotics.
Now since I choose to go to this ER, the closest to my house, I have 2 medical bills to pay instead of just having one competent doctor resolving my issue. St. Luke's made me feel stupid and gave me a bill just for having some idiot doctor call me a liar. I'll never go back, even if it is an emergency!

Went to urgent care for a cough that had been lingering for about a month.
After X-rays, the doctor told me I NEEDED to go to their ER THAT DAY and that she already called ahead to set up a CT in the ER because of two concerning masses on my lung.
Turns out it was blood vessels and a calcified lymph node. Doctor who read CT scan said he NEVER would have sent me to ER after seeing the X-ray and asked who the Doc at Urgent Care was who sent me to ER. Now I'm being billed an arm and two damn legs AFTER insurance took out a good chunk for a freaking cough. Unreal...what an expensive way to confirm that there are indeed blood vessels in the lungs...

The staff that works the day shift in the emergency room on Sundays were really helpful with information & their response time was awesome. My significant other cut his wrist on some glass & had cut a main vein & 10 tendons.

They put a 27 dollar collection on my Experian report. Then I call and they tell me there is no such thing in their system. Yet they are hurting my credit with it. However, they then tell me I owe 343.48 which I have paid before twice. These people are crooks and could care less if they destroy your credit. MAKE SURE YOU KEEP RECORDS. THEY WILL TRY TO DOUBLE OR TRIPLE CHARGE FOR THE SAME THING.
