Great location, just a few minutes walk to the beach. The breakfast was very good, fresh fruits, different breads, pastries, really yummy pineapple juice. The rooms are small but we didn't spend much time in it anyway. Would definitely!!!

Good rate and good location. And I actually prefer their smaller rooms - a normal hotel feels like you have all these chairs sitting around doing nothing. Plus the bathroom had a cool sliding door that seemed like a nod to Japanese influences. Free breakfast was average except that yeasted blueberry bread which was cool.
This vive is a perfect location. The vive is situated 4 minute walk from beach , 5 minutes from international market place , 2 minute walk to a supermarket and a few foodtrucks.
Service was great , room was small ( but all that we needed was there ) , clean and organised .
Small twin room, very old manual air conditioning on the window that makes a lot of noise, making us unable to sleep without switching it off. However the window is so small I m unable to open it much to circulate the air.
There s also no proper door closing mechanism. There was a room beside me who kept opening and letting the door slam late at night, shaking my entire room and waking everyone up.
I literally had no sleep that night. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels, hostels and more in my life, and this was one of the worst I ve stayed in. The room does not look like the photos reflected at all. Please be warned.
With the same price I managed to stay at another much better hotel with better location nearer to Waikiki beach.
On the bright side, Staff is very courteous and kind. Breakfast minimal selection, a lot of pastries. Tea and coffee provided. However I still won t recommend this to anyone when there are way more competitive and better quality hotels around.
Perfectly located nice, clean hotel close to all good cafes, restaurants and Waikiki beach I loved my stay at Vive if I come back to Hawaii this hotel would be my choice again since it's perfect for my budget price/performance = a great choice
Great location: close to the beach, restaurants and shopping. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is good, lots of fresh fruit. Had a lovely time :)
First things first. I HIGHLY recommend Vive Hotel Waikiki!! I give it a full 10/10.
I like that there are so many variety of rooms to choose from! I believe most of the rooms all have a great view of the city as well and it was breathtaking. The lounge area is wide and has many board games, food, and a cute gift store to visit. Overall, they have everything for you!
During my stay at Vive Hotel Waikiki, it was always a very comfortable, fun, warm, and adventurous experience for me. I really like that they offer free breakfast in the morning! So kind and thoughtful of them! There was a lot of food and drinks and plenty to share. I couldn't believe that they also offer free rentals for beach mats, beach umbrellas, and other items I may need as someone who's traveling there. Already you're saving so much money just by choosing your accommodation at Vive Hotel Waikiki!
Cleanliness is huge for me and they're always clean. The hotel looked very clean and perfect. You can tell they take good care of there hotel.
Another huge one for me is customer service. ALL THE STAFF AND MANAGER ARE SOOOOO kind and friendly. They were always smiling and made sure I had an amazing stay. Honestly, the people that work at Vive Hotel Waikiki are the ones that made me feel so comfortable. My whole experience at Vive was extremely relaxing. I like that they want the best for every one there. They are all professional as well. Great management!
If you're debating on where to stay in Waikiki, no worries now because you found your place at Vive Hotel Waikiki where they provide what you need. I will most definitely be back and always recommend.
Vive Hotel Waikiki is exactly what we'd hoped for from a boutique hotel and then some. Located just three short blocks -- two minute walk -- from the beach, walking distance from tons of great restaurants and shops (think beach town meets Rodeo Drive) and a 20 minute cab ride from the airport, it's turned out to be a great base camp for us.
From the moment we checked in the staff has been welcoming and helpful. The front desk greeted us with cold juice and a smile, and accommodated us even when we showed up earlier than check-in. KC, the concierge, pointed us towards great cultural activities, wrote up a map of a bunch of good lunch spots in Waikiki and has gone above and beyond in answering all of our questions.
In the context of my years of traveling -- from crashing in hostels as I backpacked through Europe to staying in the W for work trips -- I'd come back to the Vive Hotel Waikiki. It's great for travelers who don't want to spend all of their vacation money on the hotel but still want the welcoming hotel experience.
The advantage of being able to stay near Waikiki Beach at a reasonable price. Hotel facilities and services are not bad either. However, the room itself is too narrow and strong.
This modern hotel had everything we needed. The rooms were on the smaller side but I felt very comfortable. They didn't come with all these extra amenities but I didn't need them. We were on the 20th floor and the view was amazing. There was live music during our stay. Also, we were only a few blocks from the beach. I would definitely come back here.
Location is spectacular, 1 block from the beach, middle of Waikiki strip, and steps away from the musubi Cafe. Vive has a great concerige service, we took KC's advise on things to do (honua spa is amazing). Would stay again.
Good location. Parking height low - be warned. Smaller rooms are tidy and cozy. Bigger rooms look bit disorganised. Old school box a/c shouldn't be used in this day and age. Bloody noisy as. Ok dining area on ground floor - what's with disorganised chairs & tables here and there? All different designs and sizes! Very messy and off putting. Just spend some money and tidy up the bloody place. Will get 4 1/2 stars with they fix a/c and dining area.
I loved loved this place I will definitely stay Again when we come back. The rooms were a little small but nice we didn't mind we weren't in our room much anyways. The breakfast was yummy pastries and fruit plus coffee and juices they had plenty. Walking distance from the strip and lots of things around to walk to . Loved the valet service the guys were very friendly and helpful when we asked where things were. It is 25 dollars a day which we were ok with, they got to make their money to. The staff was very friendly sweet front desk people also loved this place thank you for making our stay comfortable!!
Barely 90sqft room. Over priced glorified hostel, tight tiny room with breakfast that supposed to be included but after paying out way more than expected does not add up! Also tiny window with cheap ac window unit. Get to the Aston Waikiki hotel with Tiki bar and pool, get a fabulous ocean view room for same price!
Great service. We were fairly demanding guests because we were only in Waikiki for 24 hours. The staff let us store our luggage, use All the amenities hours after checkout and even let us use a courtesy room To freshen up before our flight. Concierge arranged our transportation and recommended restaurants in the area. If I come back to Waikiki I will def stay here again.
I recommend this hotel in Waikiki. Very good location (5mn from Waikiki beach by walk), and friendly staff. The rooms are clean. The AC is a little bit noisy. The breakfast is included (fruits, cakes, eggs, sausages...). The hotel offers a valet parking for 30$ plus fees by day.
For the price really not bad at all, if u don't expect 5Star luxury. Perfect located to hit the beach of waikiki and do some shopping... The breakfast was Kind of Perfect for me. You should not expect a great variety of backery or cheese or sausages. Also the coffee isn't the best. BUT: every morning u get tons of freshly cut pineapple and other Hawaiian local fruits - and that's why I came for these Island . Not to have generic us/European genetic breakfast. So if u are fine with fruits only for breakfast, it's heaven!
My feelings about my stay here are very positive. Pros outnumber the Cons. Pros: Relaxed vibe at hotel. Friendly staff. Good Location, because it's close to the beach and to restaurants. Rooms are regularly cleaned. Price seems fair. Good fruit at breakfast. You can schedule a shower mid-day even after you've checked out, another value-add. And there's a book library in the lounge area, too. Cons: the bread at breakfast could be much better. But that's about it. I recommend this place to you, and I hope you enjoy your stay in Honolulu.
Great hotel has everything you need. Simple breakfast, great because you know you will be fed in the morning. Staff always friendly and helpful.Short walk to beach and they give you towels and umbrellas if needed. Highly recommend if you are an outdoors person.
There is more than 5 kinds of fresh fruit, delicious bread, coffee and tea. In tteulsu be all day drinking water purifier in the ground floor (I can hold hot water port) too comfortable beach chairs boogie boards and beach gear me borrow free of charge. We are all satisfied with various things!
Greeted us with pineapple juice and a towel, held our baggage, gave us a complimentary upgrade and worked to get our room ready early because we had arrived in the morning. A+ so far!!
Outstanding. Possibly the best stay we have ever had. The staff went far beyond the basic standards. Would definitely stay here again. Other hotels will have a hard time meeting this level of service.
my sister pased away but I can wait to see how happy she was @ this hotel I hope I see this person in live shes so lovely and a good person her name si bera always smile and good to my sister I have your name on a lil paper shes always say to thans to you for your hospitality.
Friendly staff, room was clean and looked as expected. Location was great, very close walk to the beach and restaurants in Waikiki. Only downside was there are limited seating in the breakfast area.
Stayed 6 nights and it was amazing. their attention to details were simply the best. Its a modern boutique hotel with comfortable sized rooms. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. beach mats and towels provided all day long, free wifi, free continental breakfast, $25 valet parking for 24hrs, no resort fee, 3 minutes walk to the beach and the heart of waikiki. bus stop right outside the hotel goes to many tourist destinations. convenient stores a minute walk away. a quiet and peaceful location..will be back here next yr.
The service was awesome . Everyone went above and beyond to make sure our stay was the best it could be. KC was very helpful getting us where we wanted to go and has a wonderful attitude. I would highly recommend staying here.
Excellent location. 3 small blocks back from beach .walk down the street to left of hotel .( uluniu st) arrives at dukes statue .excellent front desk and concierge staff. Small rooms but didnt matter as we were always out . No pool but waikiki beach is great and clean .continental breakfast pastries and breads . Free tea and coffee any time of day and night. Free towles chairs and boards for the beach HIGHLY RECOMMENDED views are from small balcony out front of room 1809 this room doesnt have a balcony
It would be unfair to start this review bragging about the amenities at this hotel because quite frankly this isn't an amenities rich place. No pool, no restaurant (though continental breakfast is included and quite fresh) and no lanai's in the rooms. Why then a 5 star review? The price is low, the beds are great, the rooms are clean, the staff are excellent, the valet parking was half the price of public parking, the lobby is welcoming, the beach goodies are free to use, the tea and coffee are unlimited, and the location! Excellent location. This hotel is a GEM.
Our stay has been great! The breakfast is good and the rooms are a good size. The staff is friendly and helpful. Only thing that could make the stay better is a quieter air conditioner. We also wish we had known upfront that the room doors don't automatically close behind you like at most other hotels. Also - romeo is one of the valet drivers and he made our stay great! So polite, friendly, and helpful.
Nothing to complain. Great location, friendly staff, good and clean rooms. AC a bit noisy but still OK. Value for money is outstanding. Try to get one of the junior suites, great view and less traffic noise (higher floor).
Meh experience. The front desk staff member was not very helpful when we were inquiring about the member discount for parking at check in. We booked directly from VIVE website and at that time we received a mobile booking discount of 15%. Then we realized if you register as a member on their website, you can get up to 17% discount in booking, 50% discount on parking and free upgrade if available, so we inquired whether we can get the parking discount since I registered as member already. Front staff member said it is too late now as you have to use the emailed promo code at booking to get all the perks and there is nothing he can do now. We explained we are not looking for another upgrades or further discount on the hotel room rate just adding the parking. Answer is still no. Then we asked if we could speak to a manager, he said there is no manager here just him......
We had an amazing time in Hawaii, and Vive was amazing!
The room was good, clean, had a pretty good view over the ocean, and was only about a 3 minute walk from the beach. There were always beach mats, towels, beach chairs, and umbrellas.
The breakfast was awesome. Good pastries, tons of fruit. The coffee is the best hotel coffee I've ever had - and I travel for work often enough for that to mean something.
This is an average place to stay. Rooms are very small. Bathroom is too close for comfort. Elevator is slow. Breakfast and fruit beverages are good. Staff doesn't initiate eye contact, but helps when acknowledged. Parking is $25/night. Rooms are quiet. Lobby makes it look fancier than it is. Good location to beach, downtown and highway access.
Poor customer service, was lied to about the total cost of the trip on several occasions, housekeeping left dirty plates in our room, they charged $25/day for Valet Parking- No you can't park your own vehicle, our vehicle was not ready on time when we requested it and at times the valet attendant was not present upon returning to the hotel, they turned off our air conditioning EVERYDAY when we left to explore the island. Needless to say this was a terrible hotel experience. I would NOT recommend this hotel to ANYBODY.
We just got back from Oahu and stayed in Vive for 10 nights. I read the reviews prior to booking and had an idea of what I was getting in to but things were a bit different once we arrived. They honestly were much better than what I thought they would be. The customer service you get from this place is amazing. They go ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure you are happy and comfortable during your stay. Now, keep in mind, you are getting a cheap price which means they have to cut costs somehow. The rooms are pretty small but very modern and have everything you need. If you read the other reviews the only thing people really complain about is this. They really aren't that bad and the hotel does a great job with the space! They are super clean and well taken care of. The beds are CLEAN!!! The breakfast is pretty basic but plentiful and tasty. Also, they have 24 hour Kona coffee for free. This is now my favorite coffee. The only sad thing is we cant get it in Minnesota!! When you go to the beach they give you towels, chairs and pretty much anything you need for free. The concierge, Kasey, really knew her stuff and gave us great suggestions. Chris at the front desk was also very helpful and kind. I honestly could write a longer more detailed review but we just got back from an amazing vacation and am a bit tired so I wont. Bottom line is this is a great hotel for a even better price. You defenitley get what you pay for plus some! If we stay in Waikiki again we will for sure be staying at this hotel! I hope you enjoy your stay in Waikiki as much as we did. Mahalo!! :-)
The Vive Hotel is a fine option for those who want to avoid the big chain resorts in Waikiki and their expensive rates.
It's a three star hotel, and so you shouldn't stay there expecting luxury. The rooms are appropriate, but there are two things I think are worth mentioning: first, the mattress is quite soft, on the limit of not being too soft for me (185cm, 91kg); second, the air conditioner is quite noisy. We stayed in room 1703, which was nice and high as we had requested so we had no issues with noise from the street.
The hotel staff were friendly in all areas and provided appropriate service.
Breakfast wasn't bad, it had fruit, bread and pastries. Juice, tea and coffee to drink. I would have really enjoyed if there were some cereal and muesli, and if they offered milk and yoghurt as well. Breakfast is included in the rate though, which most other hotels don't offer.
A business hotel that I wanted to go to Hawaii one week before Golden Week and I reserved it all night without any room. As a result, economy + hotel 1 night cospa 150,000 per person! ! Don't forget it, Golden Week. Easy travel Saiko
We booked a room for 6 nights from February 11 to 17, 2020 We had received a very warm welcome, we were allowed to check in early, as the flight from LAX arrived early, given a very nice corner room on 18th floor and given detailed information about Oahu.
However due to Trump announcements about closing the airspace between EU and the USA due to the conoravirus, we were forced to leave next day at 05:00am
It was a big pity not to enjoy the hotel, the excellent surroundings, the beach across and Oahu in general.
We hope to have the opportunity to return in Oahu again; we will definitely choose the same hotel.
Really enjoyed this chic hotel's decor, cleanliness, the staff (Roger and Ryan are great!), and its proximity to the beaches and attractions. Will be back!
Close proximity to the beach (three blocks), excellent staff-everyone has been extremely friendly. The hotel is trendy and the decor is great! The room is small but clean. Continental breakfast was good, fresh, but limited options.
Nice clean hotel, great fresh fruit every morning for breakfast, rooms are a bit small but clean and looked after. I think windows and a/c could use some updating, we are on the 20th floor and could still hear quite a bit of road noise, and the a/c seems to be fighting a losing battle, it does keep it cool however it runs constantly to do so.
The bad.... Would of easily given this hotel a 4 or maybe even 5 star review if not for the events of this morning. There was a fire alarm/evacuation this morning at about 4am(I don't hold this against them) however the staff didn't really know what to do, they just stood behind desk, and I overheard one of them saying they didn't know what to do. Also heard 'it's a false alarm but we're still investigating' which doesn't exactly inspire confidence, one of the guests ended up suggesting that they should make an announcement to everyone in the lobby, before this they were just quietly telling individual people who asked, and basically ignoring all the half asleep/half panicked guests roaming the lobby. Also many of the guests here don't speak English as a first language(or even at all maybe?) and the evacuation announcement was only in English, so there were alot of confused people in the lobby, and a couple on our floor were waiting for the elevator when we came out, now I know they need to be streamlined and to the point but even posting a emergency exit plan in other languages would be a good idea, they have signs up in the bathrooms in multiple languages about the shower curtain/bathtub but not the emergency plan??
*edit* I spoke with management about my concerns and it appears they are taking the criticism seriously and learning from the experience. I believe that to be the case and would consider them if/when I go to the area again, as everything else was great(they're also planning on upgrading the a/c system in the next while to so that would be nice)
Great hotel located on Waikiki. Very close to the Zoo and a jogging distance to Diamond head. Friendly staff and resorts fee covers wifi and breakfast.
The CP value is full. Just 5 minutes walk to Waikiki Beach, free water, coffee and tea are available in the lobby. The room is small but clean and comfortable.
The location was awesome! Right within walking distance of everywhere we wanted to be. The rooms were also really nice having 2 beds but sort of seeming like different room was great.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Location was good. Room comfortable. Breakfast was basic and of fair quality. Repeated hard boiled eggs with bacon one day manufactured omelette and sausage the next. Along with breads and fruit. One day when we returned to our room at 4:30 it had not been cleaned. Another day the smoke alarm started chirping at 7:00am. Shouldn't you have a schedule to change the batteries regularly? Overall a good value for Waikiki.
Excellent hotel. Reasonably priced. Clean, modern rooms. Happy and helpful staff. Only thing it is missing is a balcony - how can you have a hotel with a beach view and no balcony?
6 nights to participate in the Honolulu marathon. Breakfast should be free. Moreover, the content is quite substantial. It is also good that there is no resort fee due to the absence of this hotel, Lanai (veranda). In addition to the coffee in the pot, cold and hot water servers are also available in the lobby and are available 24 hours a day.
So many good things to say! Clean, friendly and very modern. Complimentary beach necessities available to guests. Fresh beach towels, beach mats, umbrellas and even beach chairs! Free continental breakfast is full of fresh local fruit, pastries, pineapple juice, coffee and tea. We only ate out for breakfast on the last day of our trip to get really filled up before our flight. The only complaint I had was that our standard room was pretty small but that didn't bother us too badly since we were only in our room to sleep or get ready so no biggie. Cleaning service was very friendly and would leave nice notes for us. They even had fun board games and books down in the lobby to use at your convenience. Plus this hotel has got so many places in close walking distance for food, fun or entertainment!
Loved the look of this hotel when we were booking our honeymoon to Oahu. Pictures and amenities looked amazing. We showed up and concierge and valet were wonderful, however, when we got up to our room... It had paint chipped all over the walls, smells musty/moldy and was dreary. NOTHING like the photos. My husband I promptly called other hotels to get out ASAP.
Good hotel overall, with decent accommodations and amenities. Hotel is not on the beachfront, but I had a great view from my room. Overall, solid value proposition for good cost benefit
First the cons: bathroom sink is not very good ergonomically, water backs up instantly in both sink and shower, there were a couple of gross boogers on the inside of the door to the hotel room, the coffee that is provided 24/7 is terrible and watered down, the above penthouse guests were smoking cigarettes constantly and their annoying smoke wafted down below to my room one floor down, and the linen was discolored and gross - a couple of areas having blood stains. Kuhio Ave is kind of seedy and dirty. And finally there is that constant, somewhat loud hum of the room air conditioner housed in cheap plastic, barely hanging to the window and a reminder that the building is a condo conversion which was built probably in the 70s and never a thought was given to high efficiency central air and which is now impossible to implement.
Now the pros: the design of the room was decent, including the desk, the shower also passed muster. Of course the rooms are small this being Waikiki but they get the job done without a lot of extraneous junk. Staff are nice and polite. Centrally located and fairly close to Waikiki beach.
The question becomes what is the value for this place? I would put it at medium to medium-high value. This is Waikiki and everything is insanely overpriced for what it is and where you are. If they would fix a couple of the above issues the place could be 5 stars. For example, the constant cigarette smoke should never happen quite frankly. And if the plumbing were fixed and a couple of attn to detail cleanliness issues were addressed then this would be a 5 star experience for the price point.
The sparkling clean Vive Hotel offers a wonderful breakfast and is in Waikiki near the zoo. It's only a short distance to the beach, loads of shopping and restaurants.
Great location and service for the price! I would recommend it for solo traveler. The room was a bit small and the carpet needed vacuuming and some cleaning but overall a great experience.
The staff was extremely helpful and they offer shuttle services to locations around the island for very cheap fee.
We booked this hotel in an Expedia package with flight from mainland USA in the Midwest. Total cost was $2600 for hotel and flight plus $27 a day amenity fee from Vive for 8 days, 7 nights. That fee included beach items and breakfast, most notably. So, we dropped about $2800 on flight and hotel. That price was ok for us because the cheapest flights we could find were around $1,000 each. Still, I think this hotel was a bit pricey for the size of the room and no pool. That being said, we enjoyed the breakfast and used the beach items a lot. The hotel is just a few mins walk from the beach and the concierge was very helpful in planning activities for the days. The staff was very chill and attentive to guests. Accommodation could have been better but staff was excellent. Thanks.
The Vive hotel is great! We rented a Junior king suite and very much enjoyed it. Very clean, with a nice comfortable bed, and spacious as well as being in a good location of Waikiki, well within walking distance of several great locations. The staff have been very friendly and accommodating as well.
Very good hotel! The stay includes umbrellas, boogie boards and beach mats, it's a nice gesture, breakfast is good. They have all the necessary information to visit different places. The attention is very kind from all the staff. Fully recommended, it is only 2 blocks from the beach !!
The place is nice and clean. The people who work there are extremely nice. They also offer free drinks all day and breakfast. This hotel was much better than the courtyard in waikiki. Book it . Worth the money. Close to all the shops and attractions.
Great hotel, great location, great room, great staff! I chose this hotel based on user reviews and price. It is not right on the beach but is only 2 blocks away - a short walk - and we got a Jr Suite which is a large room with a king size comfy bed, a huge walk in shower, large closet, desk area, and an ocean view for a great price. The staff have all been super friendly and helpful. Stay includes free breakfast and beach supplies. Would definitely stay here again.
