Exceeded expectations. We enjoyed the free beach gear rental, the breakfast, and the friendly staff. Would definitely consider staying there again.

The staff is friendly, the room clean and the breakfast very good!
Charming boutique hotel with a great location and friendly staff.
Amazing place!!! I was there on July and it was fantastic!!!! Super friendly staff and great location!!!
Excellent stay. Perfect for couples. Rooms are a bit small and the buffet breakfast is average. Only bread and fruit.
Friendly staff, simple small room with comfortable accommodations, nice hot breakfast, board games and books to read available.
pro- excellent location, great staff and services. very clean, very fair price.
cons- small room, air conditioner too loud.
overall, this place is highly recommended. there are few flaws(room size, a few malfunctioning devices), but u just cant beat their price. I believe this is the best you can get in the area with this price. front desk staff were highly trained and very friendly. donno about the other reviews regarding the poor services from the staff, but our experience with the staff was excellent, maybe they change the entire crew? anway, it was a great experience there for our 8 nights stay.
We stayed for a week, the hotel is clean and decently quiet but there is a lot of street noise if you're a light sleeper. If you can, book directly through the website as they waive the amenity fee which includes free rental of beach towels, chairs and mats. You can even rent a go pro for free (you just need to bring a sim card or buy one from them). The staff is friendly, I wouldn't count on the buffet breakfast if that's your interest. Its just alright but doesnt have anything substantial, mostly fruit and bread.
The "ocean view" is an obstructed view of other buildings so if you're booking based on that you may be disappointed. It's about 2 blocks walking distance from the beach, some restaurants in the area to eat at conveniently..Overall worth the stay but after driving around I've found there are some better places to book outside of this area that are less touristy
I stayed at Vive for 14 days in january and had a junior suite with sea views. I enjoyed it very much. The location is perfect and central. There are clean spacious rooms and a great breakfast. Parking in the house for $ 30 available. I'll be back soon.
Great find in the middle of Waikiki
The place was excellent. Blocks to everything and the price was great!! I highly recommend this hotel. Loved the lobby and the way it looked very inviting! The staff was great and very helpful. Awesome
Customer service was great. 2nd stay. Will stay again.
Nice hotel just two blocks from the beach. Rooms on small side though.
I have stayed at the Continental Surf Hotel on a solo trip, so the reviews have improved since I became the Vive Hotel, so I stayed in 2015.
The building is the same, but it was renovated and the beds were better, which was nice.
However, the room is small even if it is clean.
It's not cramped, but compared to other Honolulu hotels and American hotels, there are many spacious rooms, so people who have stayed at other hotels will find it small.
However, I think that the size of the room does not bother people who are accustomed to Japanese business hotels.
We are grateful for the free and simple breakfast provided.
It's definitely better than the Continental Surf Hotel, so it might be 5 stars compared to that time, but 3 compared to other hotels in the US and Honolulu.
I think that it is good for staying alone or as a couple.
Stayed here with my husband for our 2 year anniversary. It was a great hotel for both the price point and amenities. The hotel decor, including our room, was in a modern style, and a convenient 10 minute walk to Waikiki Beach. The continental breakfast consisted of pastries and fruits, lacking in any protein, but there's an awesome onigiri shop in the hotel just across the street. Also, free rental of beach towel and rollout mats! Every morning we would take a fresh set with us, whether to Waikiki Beach, or on a road trip around Oahu. The staff was very kind and accommodating. My absolute favorite perk of Vive Waikiki is the option to use a complimentary 1 hour room rental to refresh yourself before you leave. We had checked out in the morning, but our flight wasn't until night time. Vive Waikiki gladly reserved a room in the afternoon where we took a shower and quick nap before our flight. My husband and I would definitely stay here again.
Centrally located hotel within 3 to 5 minutes on foot to Waikiki Beach. It is not a beach, it is rich that there is no room in OceanView, but it is a good hotel with the hospitality of the staff, the cleanliness of the room and the parking lot. Free breakfast included, WiFi included. There is free rental such as beach towel, beach chair. At check-in, there is also a juice and a handicap, which will make you feel instantly at check-in from a long trip. This hotel is recommended for those with a short stay in Waikiki, mainly on Hawaii and Maui.
Great rates and only two blocks to Waikiki beach! Rooms are small, but everything is nice. They even provide beach gear for free.
Great location for a fair price. Breakfast is a joke.
Hidden resort and amenity fees make this hotel very poor value for money and a ripoff. The continental breakfast provided is below the quality of a 3-star hotel - powdered eggs, dry gross sausages and some fruit and toast only. The rooms are small and crammed, the air conditioning is really loud. Apart from some nice decorations this hotel is far below the quality it should be!
Honestly, this is definitely one of the coolest hotels I've ever stayed in.. The service is incredible, as is the technology used in rooms.. The next time I'm in Waikiki, I'll be staying here.
Cospa is good. The staff is kind, there is a bathtub and there is a refrigerator. Please note that the parking lot is only in the valley and the height.
Hotel has a very nice selection of breakfast food, rooms are a bit small but enough. Staffs are friendly.
My wife and I have stayed there the last 7 yrs .We love the location. The excellent service and friendly atmosphere.
The Breakfast Buffet is outstanding.
Well be arriving there again 20 January 2020.
We are excited
to be coming to Hawaii again.
Business hotel level said in Japan. I do not distort the feeling that I have renovated an old hotel. The walls are so thin that you can hear the next room.
It is appreciated that breakfast is free, but it is too little and subtle compared to previous hotels. The coffee was delicious.
On the first day there were staff who could speak Japanese.
This hotel was awesome! The rooms are stylish, modern, and very clean and the staff was friendly and you can get free beach towels, beach chairs, and bodyboards. Also a HUGE PLUS is the this hotel offers a free continental breakfast (somehting hard to come by in Waikiki)! It was delicious, fresh fruits and pastries as well as free coffee and tea around the clock. It's only two blocks from the beach! Best hotel we stayed at in Waikiki, we wish we would have booked our entire stay here instead of hopping around like we did.
Clean, modern, fun. Close to waikiki beach. Relatively affordable and free brekky.
Live this place. Great location, right by the beach and in the heart of Waikiki. Includes a continental breakfast in the morning and you have the awesome spam musubi store right across the street. Just keep in mind they use window ACs which can freeze up quickly and it can get pretty warm when it's hot out
Really clean and modern design on an obviously older building. Staff is great! Our room (10th floor) had dual AC units that were moderately-noisy. Road noise very apparent.
Very friendly staff, nice room and close to Waikiki beach and a lot of good restaurants.
Very good hotel with clean rooms and friendly staff. The location is OK but not excellent.
Great friendly accommodating staff the vive hotel was great and i would definitely stay again as it was clean seems quite new and close to everything!!! My only downside was the pillows as i woke with a sore neck each morning but all in all great little hotel.
This place is amazing!!!! The breakfast was great, concierge was helpful, the AC is a little noisy but they are replacing them. View was stunning and unlike many hotels, the pictures on the web look exactly like the room so we got exactly what we saw and paid for. Great staff too.
Loved this hotel. Everone very friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast. Fresh pineapple juice when you checks in. Will stay again.
This hotel is a priceless gem.All you need is in the lobby..the staff is so curteous and the conceirge assist with activities available during your stay on Oahu. Coffee is always fresh and available. The room staff are very careful to meet your every need. This is definitely a must stay.
Looking for a fine boutique experience without the price gouge of the big box hotels of Kalakaua Avenue?
Then look no further than Vive Hotel Waikiki. From the moment you enter, service is at your fingertips and style pervades the entire hotel from the decor to the wall color to the flooring and even a clean fresh scent. (Fun Fact: I learned that the GM hand-selected all of the features and decor. Attention to detail is apparent at Vive!)
Check-in is a tropical breeze as you are provided white cloths to wipe your travel-weary hands and as you sip complimentary pineapple juice. The refreshment continues as you receive your key with your WiFi passcode already on your key pouch.
There are two elevators to take you to your room. Once you enter your room, you'll discover smart furnishings with clean lines and intelligent storage. Some rooms are larger than others but no matter what you'll find the right spot to put your things. You may also appreciate the Korean toilets which have more buttons and features than I would ever need...but it's there if you wanted!
A nice feature is that complimentary breakfast is served from 7-930AM every day. Includes tropical fruits, pastries, croissants, coffee, tea, lemon water, and pineapple juice. A great way to start your day!
Parking is available for a fee but if you're staying in Waikiki and not traveling around, then you don't even need a car because Vive is conveniently located to all of the beaches and spots you plan to visit. Also, you can get beach towels, mats, and chairs for free every hour of the day.
I highly recommend Vive Hotel Waikiki. Price, location, service, and attention to detail make me a soon-to-be-return-customer.
Great hotel. Fantastic price, very accommodating staff, and the location was perfect. Would not change a thing!
We stayed for 2 nights at vive hotel. The room was a little small, but was clean and located in a very convenient location. The breakfast was decent with lots of fresh fruit, bread and eggs. We liked how there was always coffee and tea available anytime. Service was great. We would recommend this place for the price.
Lovely hotel in a beautiful location. Just a block from Waikiki Beach but you still can have a view of Diamond Head. But please understand, this is not one of those "spend the entire vacation in the hotel" kind of places. But if you want that, why are you in Hawaii? The rooms are quite nice (at least ours was) and the staff went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed. Large walk-in shower (important since you will have all that salt and sunscreen to wash off) and everything seemed well maintained. If you are looking for a base of operations in Waikiki this is a very good choice.
Casual hotel of fashionable atmosphere. The staff are often unique and young people, but you can feel comfortable with correspondence and ambition.
There is no resort fee and it is reasonable price, but you can lend free beach goods, or you can always drink coffee in the lobby 24h or you can enjoy a nice service such as pine juice and bread for breakfast service. , Just feeling good distance and comfortable.
However, since there is no staff who can speak Japanese, English is required only a little.
For a 3 star hotel, this is actually a really good place. Nice location, 5 minute walk to the beach. One thing to be aware of - ocean view. Don't get too excited about this one. You won't get a traditional ocean view. It will just be a tiny strip of water that you'll be watching between two towers and that will be like 500 feet from you... Otherwise, the rooms are nice and clean (although, pretty small). The bed is good too. I didn't like their bathroom. It's too tiny. And the sliding door to bathroom to me looked just weird. Friendly staff. Good service. Valet parking - $25 a day. (And I'm pretty sure you won't find a better deal in Waikiki to park your rental car).
We booked directly on their website after seeing the many high reviews and the nice colorful pictures of the boutique hotel and the reasonable prices. We got the 21st story junior suite (slightly on the small side) which had great views, a large bathroom with a desk, closet, cable TV and 2 ACs with remote and a comfortable bed and blankets. The hotel is nice and quiet and the location is awesome right in the middle of Waikiki and a block from the beach. Gym passes at the smallish hotel gym close by were available for $15.
The front desk really deserve praise. Amy was super friendly and thorough explaining the hotel accommodations, free breakfast, events, etc. (They even sent a custom graduation congrats email- so thoughtful!).
Breakfast is free and a very nice assortment of fresh fruits, pastries and eggs that changes slightly daily. Coffee and tea available always. The seating is in the lobby where there's chic decoration and comfortable seating on couches (though the tables were on the tiny side). We came in December and the hotel felt very warm and festive. Overall and excellent value and very happy with Vive hotel.
Elegant hotel in wakiki Beach.
I stayed in this hotel in December 2016 in a standard double room. The room is clean and is cleaned every day, WiFi is free, breakfast is included in the price. Inside the hotel there is a guarded parking for a fee of 25 $ per night with the valet who brings the car to you in 2 seconds. Recommended
Great front desk staff but rooms are small, no pool, and room service needs a lot to be desired.
Hotel staff were over the top helpful and really tried to be accommodating. For the price point, the hotel is also clean and well presented though the building certainly shows its age... But like I said good for the price point. Location is not as good as it seems to be on the more run down side of Waikiki beach compared to the north side, but nevertheless it's only a 2 min walk down to the beach
The breakfast was good. The walk to the beach was short and also filled with shopping along the way. Very clean hotel and very good valet parking. The staff were very kind. Definitely reccomend this hotel anytime.
Priced well great location.
Staff wonderful KC helped with a of our tours. Very happy with Vive.
My Husband and I stayed at the Vive for 5 days on our Honeymoon. We booked way, way in advance and got a good rate and no restore fees.
When we arrived we got a warm greeting with Pineapple Juice and cold towels. Our room wasn t large but our days were all booked so we just needed a place to sleep and shower.
The breakfast was pretty good. There was an assortment of fruits like Pineapple, Cantaloupe, Honeydew, Papaya - some bread items and eggs. There was always coffee and fruit infused ice water in the lobby. There is no Pool and no Hot Tub. There are toiletries but don t forget your toothpaste and razor.
Vive was within walking distance to the beach, there are a couple ABC Markets nearby as well as a couple restaurants. We also walked to the Honolulu Zoo from the hotel.
All of the staff were laid back, helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our stay and will return in the future.
Great hotel, well located, we had a junior suite which was very spacious, the staff was amazing.
The aircondition unit in our room was kind of loud, and the breakfast is nothing to write home about.
However it is located near the centre of Waikiki so thats a plus.
Top hotel in a very good location. Only 5 minutes away from Waikiki Beach. Breakfast included, certainly not comparable to a 5 * resort but it's enough to get your day off to a good start. Coffee toast bacon and fruits, fits! Rooms are small but clean and functional. Sea view included. Clear recommendation.
Location good, friendly staff. Would definitely stay again
A very efficient hotel! We loved the fact that it was near the beautiful Waikiki Beach! The buffet was amazing! The rooms were very beautiful specially the view that can be seen outside of the rooms. It was spacious and with large beds as well. The staff were very nice! I highly recommend Vive Hotel!
Nice rooms, modern design.
Staff always available and helpful.
Could be 5* if they soundprofeed those windows. They need double glazing, it can be really loud outside at night.
Breakfast good, but the lobby could do with a few more tables, as it is sometimes hard to find a spot where to sit.
Also, you might want to look into paper straws, and start using reusable glasses, cups and silverware instead of disposable ones!
Overall a strong 4/5!
Love this hotel, the staff were very professional but friendly and helpful. The room smaller than i had expected but clean with comfortable bed a great City view and nicely designed.Breakfast was good with fresh fruit every day and located close to the beach, shopping, food and transportation.I would recommend this hotel to everyone who's looking for a comfortable ,clean and pleasant environment.
Attention to detail including providing essentials for the beach
This hotel was excellent. Room was a bit small but totally worth the money. The vibe is great, it's clean, and the staff were very professional and kind. Roger mostly took care of us, and he was fantastic in every way. We were also able to store our bags and use a courtesy room after we checked out, so we could shower and freshen up before taking a long night flight home, which really accommodated our needs. The lounge was beautiful and fun to hang out (with 24-hr coffee and tea available), and they also have a cute shop featuring local artists' products. Totally recommended.
The hotel is very central. The room was very small, but had a sea view. However, the bed was super comfortable. Breakfast is a continental breakfast. Parking for 24 hours costs $ 25.
The location is great, with a very short walk to Waikiki beach. The Queen room was cozy, with a nice combo shower/bathtub. Moved later to a junior suite, and it was much more spacious, with a large shower and washroom. The service desk was helpful with our room change, offering to call us when it was ready and bring our bags to the room. Morgan was very helpful in booking events for us and providing expertise regarding the weather. We loved having the free 24 hour tea and coffee downstairs.
Nice little hotel with a lot of great benefits; location is amazing, free breakfast is just what you need to get your day started off on the right foot, free WiFi, free beach towels, boogie boards and umbrellas were nice. Not elegant but the money saved allowed us to rent a car for a couple days amd drive the island. All things considered and after checking out some other hotels in Waikiki, my wife and I would definitely choose the vive on future trips back to the island.
In the restaurant near waikiki beach, the CP value is high, but the room is small but the Asian body is not pressed, and the disappointment is breakfast. There are only hot drinks without bread, but fortunately there are many fruits. Still recommended!
Awesome awesome hotel. A must stay if you're near Waikiki!
Excellent view of the beach. Extremely friendly staff and the shower is enormous, could probably fit a king size bed in there.
Walking distance to a lot of things or a daily bus pass gets you to almost anything else.
Love this hotel. Stayed here 4 years ago and was thrilled to come back. Great location and really nice staff
Simple and comfortable, close to the sea, there is a 24-hour water, coffee and tea on the first floor. Many homes nearby ABC store.
There is a bus stop sign nearby for easy winding.
There was a staff who can speak Japanese at the front desk, and the hotel was very helpful. The parking lot is valet parking when we climb the hotel east side. Next to the hotel is a delicious steakhouse called Hy's Steak House.
amazing hotel. booked directly (to avoid the regular resort fee) and got a junior suite with good views of the water and diamond head. free breakfast, towels, mats to use, very friendly staff..what more can you ask for to make your oahu stay terrific? #lit
Good location, only 2 minutes from the beach. Inviting lobby as a breakfast room; Breakfast ok with fresh fruit and Hawaiian coffee. The rooms are o.k., although very noisy.
Great staff that are always ready to help. Big room and clean. Breakfast is delicious and fresh
Very friendly and helpful staff from housekeeping staff to front desk employees.
Very affordable but nice hotel in a great location in Waikiki. The room we stayed in was compact but we didn't need a ton of space. We really enjoyed the daily continental breakfast, free beach towels/mats and easy valet parking system (you can summon your car via a tablet in your room!) Overall, an enjoyable place to stay that won't break the bank.
Room we had was super small, price to value just didn't seem right
Nice people - I did think the resort fee was silly because they didn't have a pool. They should just admit that it is for breakfast or just incorporate it into their rates.
The breakfast is great.
The rooms are clean and large.
Great beach view from room.
Large bathroom with large walk in shower.
Big screen TV and a convenient refrigerator.
Coffee or tea all day long.
Plus iced water and juice in lobby.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
I highly recommend this place.
And the price is great.
Much better them the Wakiki Hilton. ..m
Much much better and 1/2 the price.
The VIVE was a good move from the Hilton.
Never stay there again.
Lousy services.
Although the maid service was great.
Convenient place to stay, pretty close to the beach and other attractions (mostly food)
Loved this hotel. Friendly staff, great location, clean, delicious breakfast, etc.
Prime location near beach and bus stop. Complimentary breakfast and 24/7 coffee, tea, and water. Closet is tiny about 2x2. Housekeeping can do better at cleaning off dust or lint from tables and nightstands. Hotel needs quieter A/C had to turn off in order to fall asleep.
