Thought this place was absolutely perfect for getting around Waikiki fairly easily. It's walking distance to a lot of major sites and locations like ABC stores, the International Market Place, McDonald's and the beach.

If you forgot to bring/buy beach accessories, the hotel lets you borrow them. Breakfast is okay - nothing too special but does the trick. The valet staff is alright, however Romeo does a fantastic job, he's very friendly, helpful and can throw out suggestions when trying to figure out where to go next.

Overall the room and hotel are fairly clean, they make your bed and provide you with some common toiletries. The rooms also have tablets where you can arrange to pick up your car from the valet, request an iron/cleaning/extra anything.

Right on the Waikiki strip. Great staff and service. Free breakfast in the mornings which consists of fruits and breads. 24 hour coffee and tea and filtered water available. The windows are a little thin so you hear the wind blow by however the lovely hotel location makes up for it. Would definitely stay again!

A great place to stay while visiting Oahu. It's centrally located and many places can be reached by walking in under 10 minutes. The friendly staff is most accommodating to most needs. While the rooms may be on the smaller side, they are comfortable.

Not bad. Wasn't as big a room as depicted on Expedia. Comfortable and well appointed though. It adveryises that it has an ocean view. I guess you can see Waikiki beach and the ocean between the buildings blocking the view.

Breakfast was tasty and plentiful and I slept really well so no complaints. Waikiki beach is a block away where I'm writing this so no issues at all.

Location is good, but hygiene such as bedding is not good.
I stayed in two rooms on the 19th floor and the 21st floor for 2 days as a family trip, but in the morning there were two bumps on my back ... I did not clean the pajamas and the air conditioner was very poor, Noisy and loud
It is next to the road, but I can not sleep noise, so I can sleep comfortably.
Breakfast is free or very poor
Towel Umbrella and other beach supplies Free rental is very good
Parking is $ 25 a day for barret duty ...

Really good value of the hotel. The only noticeably negative aspect is the building itself: it's not particularly new or shiny and the rooms are not all spotless marble, but they are okay and many many positive aspects of the hotel make up for it.
1. Great location: very close to Waikiki beach and a short walk to all the restaurants in the area.
2. Hotel provides all the beach accessories at no charge: towels, umbrellas, chairs, mats, boogie boards. This is super useful because one can pick up all this on the way to the beach from the lobby area and conveniently drop it off on the way back.
3. Lobby area is well equipped with comfy chairs, couches, books, board games and a few computers for guests to use. The same general area is used for breakfast in the morning.
4. Breakfast is free and available 7am-9:30am every day. A selection of pastries and hard boiled eggs on one side balanced by multitude of sliced fruits on the other makes for a refreshing selection which supercedes most hotels of similar class I have stayed in: strawberry, melon, pineapple, cantaloupe, papaya, and orange slices. Good quality tea and coffee are also available during breakfast and throughout the day.
5. Valet is reasonable, although have to wait a few minutes usually. The tablet in the room can be used to request the car to be ready downstairs.
6. Tablet is also extremely convenient for ordering pretty much anything else: from room cleaning to toiletries.
Overall, not luxurious, but an absolute gem for the practical traveler.

We were at the hotel for our honeymoon. The service was excellent and the room was a bit small, but that's to be expected from a boutique hotel. We were 2 blocks from the beach and within walking distance (less than 10 minutes) to all of the major shopping locations and food. Would stay here again.

It was a bit narrow but I did not have resort bloom in the free breakfast. Above all, it was nice because the staff was friendly and the resort was bright. The bed is a little fluffy, so it can hurt a little.

Vive Hotel Waikiki is an excellent hotel for its category. It is centrally located yet reasonably priced. They serve a free light breakfast on the first floor primarily consisting of pastries, fruits and coffee.

The structure itself seemed to be an apartment/condo converted into a hotel. Checking in and out was a breeze.

We stayed in a junior suite. It was spacious as advertised. Or at least by Waikiki standards. It has ample space for luggage and clothes. If you are looking for floor to ceiling windows, this is not for you. It has tiny, tiny windows. We didn't mind since we didn't care for outside views. The bed offers a good night sleep but the air conditioner is loud. If you are a light sleeper, this may be a problem.

For its class, Vive Hotel Waikiki is solid hotel for the budget conscious traveler.

Nice hotel really close to the beach. Perfect location for anyone that likes to walk to restaurants, the sand and shops. The room we had was small but cozy. Fresh fruit and danish breakfast was available and well stocked. Super nice staff.

The hotel is located in a very touristic area with a lot of access. Are in walking distance to many stores restaurants and the beach. The rooms are kind of small however they're very nicely decorated and recently renovated. When we first arrived during was very humid and we thought the AC was insufficient. I left a four star review because of this. In the morning we told the reception about the problem and they said they would check it out. When we returned we realize the AC unit was changed and the room was very cold and very clean and there was a box of chocolate with an apology. This is a beautiful example of good customer service which listens to their customers. We would recommend Vive Waikiki hotel anytime.

Cute little hotel in Waikiki. Great location and awesome staff. They offer complimentary breakfast, but nothing fancy. Mainly breads and fruit. The bathroom in our room was a little small, but it was fine. Great hotel if you are not looking for any fancy amenities, though the hotel does offer complimentary beach towels and beach gear. Would definitely stay here again.

Everything was okay except for an air conditioner in the room. The noise make me awake during the night (Even though I turned off the air conditioner, the noise from the street was still loud) Staffs are generally friendly.

Nice staff, but the small bed and room, thr bathroom toilet is very close to the bed. the first room we checked had bad odor in the bathroom, a couple bad night, talked to the staff, they changed the room for us right away, solved the problem.

Good ~!

Kind and location, lend parasol mat.

My wife and I stayed here for a week. It's a wonderful hotel, well placed in Waikiki. If you're military this is probably the best deal you're going to find anywhere on the island (even better than the Hale Koa when you include the room discount, waived amenity fee, free parking and free breakfast).

The rooms themselves are not large but are well organized with plenty of storage for suitcases, parking is incredibly convenient and breakfast includes a very good selection of fresh fruit. The best parts about the Vive though are the range of amenities (free beach gear, an extra room you can shower in if you have already checked out but are waiting on a flight, etc.) and the wonderful staff! I was very impressed with the professionalism and availability of the staff, whether it was answering questions, storing luggage for us or getting us beach chairs.

TL;DR: Great hotel! If you're military, this is one of the best if not THE best deal in Waikiki.

Great hotel, located near the beach. The staff is very hard to fulfill all the wishes of the guests. Thanks to the concierge, the young lady has organized us all tickets for Pearl Harbor and given a lot of information. For the beach there is free umbrella, mats, towels and armchairs to borrow. Breakfast is okay, the whole day is free coffee, tea and flavored water available. Unfortunately, the breakfast is prepared only from 7:00, although it should be ready at this time. The rooms are clean and cleaned regularly. In general, the whole staff is very friendly and polite. Even if you do not speak English well, people there will try to explain everything to you, either with gestures or with a translator. When we come back we will check in again.

Check in was a breeze even though we were early. Staff provided us with pineapple juice and everything we needed to be comfortable. Breakfast of fresh fruit awaited us in the lobby. Room is a little small but was clean and comfortable. Everyone worked with a smile. Would definitely consider another stay. However please note that while it is located near to the beach, gear available, it does not have a pool or gym. Not of a concern to me but may be for others!

Very nice hotel. A few blocks from the ocean. Fabulous breakfast area and breakfast. Coffee, tea and iced water available all day. They even have a water bottle refilling station. There are board games in the lobby. You see people sitting around playing games. Staff were wonderful.

Good service, competitive, sometimes better price, convenient, clean, small rooms, nice lobby, complimentary continental breakfast, free use of beach gear, window unit AC but not too noisy and works well, 2 blocks from beach, no in-hotel restaurant but many dining choice within walking distance.

Ok place to stay, paid for a room with a sea view and got a room with views of other hotels and a very small sea view if you looked hard enough to find it! Don't pay the extra! But close to the beach and staff friendly.

A nice hotel with super friendly service and valet parking for $ 30 a day. There is Hawaiian Island coffee and flavored water throughout the day (with us fresh fruit, such as strawberry, lemon, melon, mango) Great is the service with bath mats, beach umbrellas and beach towels for free. The breakfast is okay. Toasted bread, croissants, puff pastry, jam, egg, sausage. Not very exclusive but adequate. Our room was big, beds very comfortable and with free safe. In the third row to the beach, it is not far to walk. In the area a lot of shopping (ABC stores) and restaurants. For budget minded a Denny's 8 min walk away. Concierge deserves a special mention: very very helpful and knowledgeable. WiFi worked great. We highly recommend the Vive Waikiki and will gladly come back.

Perfect experience at this hotel, definitely a great option to be in waikiki beach. Awsome location, just close to the action, literaly 3 blocks from the beach. Reasonable price, comparing with other hotels. If you subscribe to the rewards program, (it is free), you can get parking discount rate, upgrade your room for free to an ocean view. The continental breakfast was simply delicious, is not that big, but it has the perfect combination to start your day. The rooms are some kind small, but that did not matter to us, because we used only to sleep and take a shower, since we spent all day touring the island, going to the beach, and enyoing the night life of waikiki beach. If you are going to the beach, the hotel supply beach towel, beach mats and umbrellas for free. The valet parking has unlimited reentry, and was really efficient. The staff is very friendly and helpful, demonstrating a lot of aloha spirit.

Fantastic location, good hotel staff, decent breakfast, free fast wifi. Hotel, whilst not on the beachfront, doesn't come with a beachfront price-tag, and it's only 1 block from the beach, right opposite the Duke statue on Waikiki. We had a mountain facing room, and whilst a little on the small side, was quiet, clean and well kept.

Very pleased with our hotel pick.

The Vive Hotel is a great place to stay near Waikiki Beach. It s only about a 5 minute walk from the beach. They also let you rent beach chairs and towels for free. The breakfast was great as well, the coffee is phenomenal. Parking is also cheaper if you book through the hotel website. The only thing is the room is a bit small but it s great for couples. Overall I d recommend this place, the staff service is worth the price alone.

Small and modern design. There is also a sense of cleanliness, but it is still a small hotel, basically an attitude.
Especially when the air conditioner attached directly to the window is noisy, you can hear the outside noise this time.
The reception is kind and offers a simple breakfast. It would be safe to say that it is a slightly fashionable business hotel.

The vibe of this hotel is great. Cute and trendy common area with coffee and tea always available, great sitting areas, and a small library with a good book selection. Staff are always friendly and professional. We took advantage of the complimentary breakfast, beach mats and towels, and a boogie board. It's not luxury and the street noise and hallway noise definitely come through into your room, but this is my second time staying here and I would recommend it to friends and family.

Great location! A few minutes walk to Waikiki so you get to enjoy everything it has to offer while being on a quieter street. Convenient store and low key eating options super close by. We chose to stay at the deluxe suite with ocean view - the space and the walk in shower is awesome! Everything about the room is great, the ocean view is kind of pointless though as the hotel is a tall building and you are looking through somewhat dirty windows and between other hotels - would definitely consider it again but probably forego the ocean view.

Hotel was very likable at first with pleasant staff where we were also promised late check out at 1pm. However, next day we were being asked to check out at 12, with no notes of late check out ack at front desk. Continental breakfast was terrible, no meat, eggs, or cheese options. All other available food options were low quality. Rooms while renovated are extremely small. Too pricey for such a poor experience.

Excellent value hotel. Free WiFi, great location away from the busier end of Waikiki but still close to the better part of the beach. Bus stop right out front. Ok views from the 17th floor.
Minor drawbacks are no balcony and no cereal as part of the free continental breakfast

Great location, no balconies, view limited, loud air conditioner, small rooms. Breakfast was mostly bread and fruits no eggs or bacon. Air conditioner was weak, had to get it replace while we were there. Mats, towels, boogie boards, beach chairs, limited umbrellas provided. Concierge was great and recommended a great luau. Friendly staff at the front desk. Housekeeping did a great job. Location was the best thing about this hotel.

Excellent hotel! Updated last year. To the beach 5 minutes, free beach accessories. Wifi in the rooms works well, but the password is one per room.
Breakfast is ok but monotonous from day to day. Room cleaning was also ok.
Parking in the hotel is only valet, it costs some crazy money, something like 20 bucks a day!
Overall I would recommend this hotel as excellent value for money!

Lots to like about Vive starting with the welcome pineapple juice and cold towel.
The rooms are small but well appointed with comfy beds and robes. The aircon is efficient but a little noisy. The windows open to the breeze which is great.
Breakfast of fresh fruit and bakery goods is simple but perfectly fine. The lobby has a nice lounge area with all day coffee and tea as well as a handy microwave.
Three minutes to the beach and the hotel provides everything you need.
All in all, great value.

The location was great, very low traffic and easy to find. The rooms were cozy with all the decorations and color combination for our room. The service was fantastic! We asked for 3 blankets, thinking we were getting those thin sheets, but we got very big fluffy blankets.
