Vb court is so messed up. The judge will always go in favor of the police officer. I had 2 fix-a-tickets and I showed upnto court but I had the images on my cell phone of the corrective actions I took for my car. Because I was not aloud to bring it in the courtroom I was found guilty of both charges and made to pay 200 dollars. Even though I fixed my car

Don't get in trouble In Virginia Beach. These people are hands down the worst to deal with when paying a fine.
Dog at large ticket. It states in it I can pay online or over then phone. I go online, nothing in the system. I call and call and call, nobody answers EVER. I take time out of my day to go there and I ask the lady why I couldn't pay online even though the box is check stating I can and she says they hadnt put it in the system yet (Ticket was over a month ago). She said well you can call or come here in person .
Whats the point in offering online services or payment over the phone if the only options truly are to mail it fine in or go there in person?

I think the court is a joke! My son is being held for a charge for 2015. He already has been to court, but the jail (rude people who hang up on you), can't even tell me why he is being held and why it took 2 years to charge him when he has been in another jail and released with no pending charges in va or the usa. HAHA what a joke!
I m called the number on the back of my ticket and every other court number I can find and every single time it doesn t even ring it just tells me the number I have doesn t exist and try again. I also can t find my ticket online so I m going to be forced to go in and try and pay it.
When I came the court and found someone to help me. It took long time!
The customer service is just terrible. People have no problem getting an attitude wether you are being gentle and kind or not. I call to get more info about tickets I paid months ago, yet are "unpaid" in the system, and instead of letting me finish explaining myself they quickly jump to conclusions about my knowledge of the subject. I was referenced to four different offices because they wouldnt let me finish my explanation in time to fully understand. How does anyone expect to resolve serious financial issues without any effort into service and clarification. This system, with it's impatient service system, promotes general confusion among many young people such as myself who's only choice is to struggle through these issues. I wouldnt be suprised to find many older people's living is also affected by the neglegent customer service.
Had to work Dustyn and Mark out if the probate office and could not have had a more pleasant experience. They made a difficult situation much easier. Thanks much!

Very unjust, clueless, makes decisions way to fast without even knowing or caring about the facts. To me it's my life, I care. To them it's just another 15 minutes more taken from their golf game.
Would give a negative 5 if possible. I asked for continuance because I am at home caring for my husband who is recovering from a seizure illness. My only offense was an expired tag because I was so busy with my husband's medical needs that I totally forgot their come do. They granted meaning the extension never notified me of the date and time of the extension was found guilty called and paid my fine and when I asked them if they could email me or snail mail me the receipt for the payment and you know the only thing we can do is have you come down and pick it up. Seriously what the heck year are we living in. I'm helping to care for my husband I don't have time to drive out into the Boondocks to pick up a receipt. I'm sure. Piece of trash pathetic absolutely pathetic
Worst customer service and help anybody can get. When you're ununsure and need help ,they immediately catch an attitude ,and respond rudely and try to belittle you and make you seem stupid with sly remarks. It makes you never want to deal with them ,even when you have to .
The judges in Virginia Beach are the most corrupt I have ever come across.
They are being paid off(directly and through campaign contributions) to rule in the favor of donors and special interest.
Crimes are being committed against good decent people. The judges are not even allowing these victims to have their day in court. The cases are being tossed before they ever see the light of day.
While I am a fan of big business, it's big business and other criminals who are paying the judges off. The judges in return are protecting them.
The judges and big business leaders attend the same parties...go to the same Churches...go to the same restraunts...live in the same neighborhoods.....they all know and protect each other.
These same big business leaders are also paying off opposing lawyers.
Virginia Beach is an inbred and incestial town.
If you are a big business leader...if you have a lot of money....if you belong to the same country club, live in the same neighborhood, go the same Church, have your kids in the same schools as the judges kids, ................................you can get away with anything in Virginia Beach.

Some were very nice to me.but personnel one was very clueless she sent me wrong department. When she was supposed to do my paper work.I had sweetest woman help me fix everything;shout out to the treasurers office! (Awesome) some people weren't quite welcoming outside of staff.I'm no criminal, and even if someone were you should receive same fair treatment. I just needed freaking fee paid
Worst phone system ever. Took 4 calls to get to the right department. Then waited in hold for almost an hour from 2:45 to aboit 3:35, just to be disconnected because phone hours end at 3:30. All I wanted to do was pay my traffic tickets and the state of VA won't take my money.... WTF?
Frankly, having observed signs posted on all doors stating that the presence and use of cellular phones is illegal and a significant criminal offense is amazing considering the police officers sitting there in full view of the judge / magistrate using their cell phone and giggling with one another over God knows what. When crimes are openly committed by the police, it sets a bad standard for the populace at large. I was, frankly, disappointed and disgusted by the conduct I observed. Observing police openly flaunting the law is a flagrant abuse of our judiciary system. I donate to the fraternal order of police in the name of my fallen marine friend Morgan Brent Haick.

Mere incompetence would be an upgrade from the maliciousness they currently subject you to. A bit of advice to those unfortunate enough to wind up here: send payment via registered mail with receipt confirmation, otherwise these scumbags will wait to process it so your license gets suspended, then blame the post office.
Why is it that I've been on 2 phones calling for the last 3 hours for "telephone assistance" and have yet to get anyone. This is horrible of you VIRGINIA BEACH!!!! I'm sure there is someone on the other end of the phone yet and still I'm waiting...smh
OMG..... this has got to be the worst court house EVER. No one knows nothing!!!! They send you to this floor... that floor sends you back to the floor you came from just for them to still NOT know WHAT that the HELL they are doing. AND this is suppose to be a better city damn sure not in the legal area.
I've made over six phone calls, each one lasting over an hour in hold time before I had to give up because I cannot spend all day sitting next to my phone with three children waiting for a human to pick up. ALL I AM TRYING TO DO IS PAY A TRAFFIC TICKET OVER THE PHONE AND IT IS QUITE LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO REACH ANYONE. I've spent over 6 hours collectively trying to reach someone. Shame on whoever is responsible for this completely ineffective ridiculous excuse for an answering service, ANSWERING SERVICES WOULD REQUIRE THAT SOMEONE ACTUALLY ANSWERS THE DAMN PHONE. Pathetic!!!!
My Public attorney was gordon zed and he did look at my case until the court date, never answered his phone before hand, judge wouldn't let me speak once, I looked on his Facebook page he has racist comments all over it, he has pictures of peoples legal documents making jokes about their names on his Facebook page, I'm sure thats illegal in some way shape or form, but whatever these people are corrupt and they are not going to do anything about it and people like him will be the reason their courthouse gets burned down by an angry mob.
I have had to visit the Virginia Beach court on many occasions. And while some things did not work to my favor the staff has always been friendly and helpful. My situations and frustrations should not take away from giving them good marks. Likewise, the facilities are always clean.
Had a small problem never having been to this court house or VISITATION Site.. With the help of some locals I was able to find the correct places to be.
I can never get in touch with any clerk over the telephone. It has an extremely long waiting time. I have honestly been on hold for two hours straight.
There is no justification in throwing someone in jail for child support. how are they able to pay it when they are in jail?????? If you don't have a lawyer good luck. allot of favoritism going on here!
Highly disappointed! Court appointed lawyer didnt get back to me until the day of court. I am 42 years old with no prior record. Girl kept threatening to beat me up and stab me for two years. So I did beat her up because I was over it. So with no prior record and defending myself i still get sentenced to 30 days jail time. The only good thing is i get to serve my time on weekends only! Still not a fair punishment. Probation or restitution seems more fair for no prior record. System is messed up.
The civil court women behind the counter are so friendly and helpful. Judge Hodges is very fair and listens.
Their phone system is bogus. Just need to pay a speeding ticket and its more of a hassle than the DMV
This place in my experience, Has a excellent staff, very polite and very helpful. From the front door to the clerks when filing.
Mr. Smothers approached us to resolve our problems even when to me, seemed difficult maybe even impossible to do. As we all know Court can be a stressful process and he mediated our issues and solved the problem within 35 minutes. Thank you for having a staff with the capability s of handling stressful situations appropriately. Mr. Smothers is a certified mediator and I think he is more then exceptional.
VERY FRUSTRATED...as I write this review I have been on hold waiting to speak with someone for 34.33 minutes. Why cannot you reach a live person to speak with. Their phone system has you going in circles trying to speak with an individual to get answers.
I wish they would employ more staff to answer the phone for the amount of taxes one pays each year.

Update they are thieves, literally charged me $75 and court also has another charge of 76$ plus their nonsense fees. I paid 156$ for something I haven't done and That police officer was lying about. Shame on her and judge for selling justice like that specialy in this Pandemic.
I went in to file small claims and I had no idea where I was going. Every single employee I came into contact with was SO polite. I give it a 4/5 instead of 5/5 though because I could not get anyone on the phone to help me figure out which building to go to. Overall, I'm so happy I went here instead of Norfolk!

I called over and over for AN HOUR to talk to someone so I could make a payment. No one answered I had to drive from Norfolk all the way to va beach to make a payment. I understand if you have a long wait time but calling back to back for an hour and getting to no one is ridiculous.
