Highly disappointed! Court appointed lawyer didnt ...

Highly disappointed! Court appointed lawyer didnt get back to me until the day of court. I am 42 years old with no prior record. Girl kept threatening to beat me up and stab me for two years. So I did beat her up because I was over it. So with no prior record and defending myself i still get sentenced to 30 days jail time. The only good thing is i get to serve my time on weekends only! Still not a fair punishment. Probation or restitution seems more fair for no prior record. System is messed up.
