The arboretum is a jewel In the city of Jacksonville. It offers A great outdoor hiking, bird watching, picnics, dog walk or just and overall quality nature experience. There are multiple trails to explore, that highlight the many variety of indigenous plants, wildlife there. I have found myself another reason to love my city.

I love this place so much! There are hills and ravines and creeks and arid places. Lots of beautiful spots to look at the large pond. My family has been going for years and it's probably my favorite place in Jacksonville!

I absolutely love this park. I have lived here over half my life and only discovered it last summer. Great trails, peaceful, not overcrowded, great shots of some wildlife, trees, water, plants, flowers. Amazing how it is tucked into busy Jacksonville basically right next to 295. Never hear the traffic and you would think you are far away in the country.

The Arboretum is a great place to escape the city and get in touch with nature. The scenery is beautiful with many little features along the way. It's amazing to have so much nature right near the roads we take to work every day. The trails are labeled with posts, and there are designated entry and exit points to keep the foot traffic in the same direction. It is a great place to go for a peaceful walk. Dogs are welcome. There are smaller trails which are great for children. I will definitely be visiting again soon.

If you're looking for a small-medium trail to walk and enjoy this is the perfect place. Even mid day when the sun is at its highest, it was perfectly cool with all of the shade. Beautiful views and newly renovated walk ways, this place is perfect to walk and enjoy nature.

On a Sunday, it was peaceful and quiet with only a few people on the trails. This is one of our favorite parks to walk and enjoy the scenery.

Beautiful and peaceful trails. They range in difficulty, length and scenery. Love photographing here and just recently started taking my daughter to walk. You can usually see the tortoises on the Live Oak Trail. I absolutely love this place.

The most wonderful of secret gardens that I have ever been to. When you just need to have a little piece of heaven, some peace and quiet to think and meditate this is it. There are many many trails to take and if you have binoculars bring them because the birds here are amazing. And if you don't now in the Spring you will be amazed at how many flowers are blooming. Absolutely beautiful. And I love to go there when my kids get out of school comment it gives them a place to go run play and be kids with out the thought of technology being pulled out of their pocket. It's some place I go just about every week. You will love it!

I'm inspired to open a food truck called Et Burritum (which is the plural of Burrito in Latin). Food trucks seem to be all the rage still and I'm kind of surprised because they are usually pretty expensive to eat at despite the lower overhead.

An awesome environment that is well taken care of with several trails to walk. It is a great place to observe some Florida wild life, get some fresh air, and enjoy some exercise.

My suggestion is to walk the lower revine, near the creek. It stays cool (relatively) even on hot days.

Be sure to bring your camera!

We absolutely love this place !!! Well kept trails, always improving things, informational plant signs, and sculpture art to boot! Even in the summer when it's HOT, there's plenty of shaded paths. Great place for pets and families. Quiet places to steal away and read, journal, or just be still.

I have lived in Duval County for 30 years and saw the sign for this a few times. Decided to go. Beautiful place with hiking, picnic area and beautiful scenery. Hard to believe a gem like this in Jacksonville. It is free, although they will take donations. Bring water as it is always hot here.

Great walking trails with short loops so you can visit several times and take different paths and explore. Not sure if I would consider this place as having "gardens" but there are labeled plants throughout. So for me that was a bit of a disappointment by name alone. Still enjoyable and nice to sit at one if the many benches and relax.

I enjoy nature walks/hiking and this is a nice place to go. I can walk my dogs & picnic. There are no restrooms and it closes at 5. They only ask a small donation of a couple dollars-and you can hunt Pokemon!
