Lovely bar lounge, good atmosphere, staff were friendly.
Great staff, a place with feat history dating back to 1844
Lovely hotel overlooking the water, nice to sit outside in the sunshine to enjoy as light snack. Very friendly staff especially the porters.
The V&A hosted a mums meet up in the bar area. It was a lovely meeting, staff were very attentive and helpful. Toilets were easily located, and clean. It was a bit confusing that the menu was stuck into hardback books, but once the bartender showed us where the menus were it made sense why there were so many books scattered around.
The staff was fantastic. Especially the bell man who greeted us the afternoon we arrived and also the morning that we left. The front desk staff was nice. The lobby is spacious and nice. The breakfast was so so. the telephone next to the bed was pretty disgusting it was missing all the buttons and it looked really old and awful. There are a few other cleanliness issues as well. But overall it was good. If I had not experienced that I wouldn t give it five stars.. All in all good value for money. Very nice building. Don t make the mistake I did and book a taxi in advance. There are no taxis going by this area.
Graet. Nice interior, good food and attentive staff. Loved it!
This hotel is amazing. Very clean throughout. Extremely helpful staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The bed was very comfortable and the toiletries smelt lovely. The breakfast was delicious. We will definitely use Marriott again and if we return to Manchester a reservation at this hotel will be the first thing we book.
Had a great stay here, room was a good size, very clean and staff were excellent
Amazing hotel, beautiful rooms, very comfortable, love it here.
My wife and I upgraded to a suite after arrival because the room we booked had 2 double beds. The suite was excellent. The building itself had a lot of character. Exposed beams and steel columns. We had to pay for a parking service which would have been nice if it was jusr included in the price of the room. Staff and service was very friendly and helpful.
My disabled son Paul arrived at this wonderful hotel at 2 AM. The staff were very friendly and ensured that my boy Paul was taken care of. He was being quite loud and waving his arm around (he has autism) but the staff were able to calm him down and meet his special needs. I highly recommend this hotel.
The bed was really comfy, the room was really nice and the staff were really friendly. But I think the hotel is made for small people, because, I'm tall but I'm not huge but, having to duck under doors and crouch whilst in the shower really isn't good for the neck.
Friendly welcome and fast check-in... and there's a Starbucks in Reception. Whoop whoop.
An overnight stay in Manchester lovely hotel its an old bonded warehouse by looks of it right by a canal our room was very nice if you like lots of wood and steel pillars but it was just very hot and you needed a degree to work out how to use the air conditioning and if you opened the windows you had the midges from the canal
Lovely hotel, great size room and excellent location.
Stayed again last night due to work and welcomed back with excellent customer service by friendly staff.
Nice hotel in an interesting building. Very close to Spinningfields and a short walk to the city centre. It's location on a quieter side street makes for a more peaceful stay than you'd normally expect from a city hotel. Lovely staff. Bed and pillows were really comfortable. Nature of the building means low ceiling height in some of the rooms, so those 6ft plus might have to do some ducking. Didn't eat or drink on site so can't comment on that.
Do not stay in this hotel. Not great place, dirty, bad service. Water was not hot. The street is dark and in the middle of constructuion. Our room was not made for 2 days
Lovely hotel, very comfortable, good drink and food although parking has to be paid for...
They give you a warm welcome in nice relaxed surrounding, the rooms are clean and well presented although quite pricey
Had a great stay, staff was caring and responsive, great room service with delicious dinner!
Awful hotel. Only booked this due to reputation Marriott have. The website pictures give a false impression of a contemporary grade 2 listed hotel. Booked because location while relatively central was out of the way and next to river. However beyond the modern reception the decor is 30 years out of date which is a shame for a listed building with nice timber a steel column features. The carpets and wallpaper, interior decorating are awful and akin to an old peoples home. The room I was in (236), had a service lift next door, the noise of which kept me up all night. I only got about 2 hours sleep between 3:30a.m and 5:30a.m when the noise stopped. The room had a door to a nextdoor suite with a family/kids in it, and they were making noise too. Hotel staff couldn't move me as hotel was full, and they didn't have any ear plugs. The breakfast is basic, and not fresh.
I really enjoyed my meal here. I would come back and recommend to others.
I stayed during the lockdown and the COVID measures were excellent. The hotel was spotless and the service was outstanding. I wasn t thrilled to be working a weekend and this hotel was a lovely place to recharge in the evening. A shout out to Marriott beds which are the best out there.
Stunning as you enter. Bit of a labyrinth. No idea what the rooms are like but for conferences it's great.
Firstly I didn't stay as a guest, I was there as part of event. The staff were very helpful, friendly and sorted out any little issues we had. The catering (just breakfast pastries and yummy chocolate brownie) was great and freshly prepared and available on time. The facilities could maybe do with a lick of paint, but still a nice blend of the old building and the new usage.
Convenient for Spinningfields and the Opera House, but otherwise a bit off the beaten track.
I do not know the name of this hotel, but I was impressed by the kindness of the black female staff.
I did not have a room when I arrived late at night without making a reservation, but I was so grateful to know a few nearby hotels.
Just want to share my experience at Marriott hotel had a fantastic evening with my sister who came to visit after 30 year's.. and thought take
her out for dinner to show her a good time..as the host was so lovely mr MATTEO was a fabulous host and was in good hands for sure hands for sure we had the most relaxing evening not to mention the fabulous experience.. customer service goes a long way.
Lovely, cozy rooms. Good breakfast buffet spread and helpful staff.
Friendly staff, clean rooms, delicious breakfast. Lifts a little slow. Quite noisy.
Lovely little getaway, staff are so nice, vintage and beautifully british
My friend and I went for vegan afternoon tea. Fantastic selection and effort made with unique sandwich fillings, lots of cakes and scones, and nice staff.
Location a little out of the centre, gorgeous Christmas tree in reception. Well staffed and helpful at all times, particular thanks to the Latvian lady who helps with meetings and events who was very supportive. Lovely venue overall
The hotel was very comfortable and had a rustic feel.
The staff did above and beyond to ensure our stay and wedding was perfect nothing was too much trouble.
The organisation and professionalism of staff especially Kate and Mel was incredible and everything went to plan.
The food and service was excellent and the catering and bar staff were very friendly, helpful and had a can do attitude.
If u want your wedding at this hotel it is the perfect venue.
Thank you to everyone.
Been here for business.
Good venue just outside the city centre
Great hotel friendly staff clean rooms, great atmosphere. I think American guests will particularly like the traditional English feel.
The venue was very good, and the staff were very friendly.
Great location, comfortable rooms, delicious breakfast and very helpful staff. Footbath along river south is currently closed.
Very nice great hotel, helpful staff. With stay there again.
Warehouse modified hotel, very special! Near the city center, 10 minutes walk.
My partner had purchased a voucher for A Traditional al fresco afternoon tea for two people with a cocktail each.
Sunday 10 February we decided to make it an early Valentine's celebration.
We had travelled over an hour and 15 mins to be told that the cocktail my partner ordered was not available, the salmon and cream cheese had been replaced with egg mayonnaise and the bread was stale.
We thought never mind you get what you pay for but then we asked for another pot of tea to have with the cakes and waited over 10 minutes, bearing in mind the table next to us also requested a pot of tea and was served straight away.
The cutlery and plates wasn't taken away and we would have been left to use these for our cakes had we not asked for clean cutlery and plates.
Not the standard we would have expected from the V& A and very disappointed to say the least.
Much nicer than the other marriotts in Manchester however it's not as convenient in regards to location.
Terrible room, could hear every word from next door and upstairs, snoring, TV, phone calls. One to avoid.
Nice Marriott hotel. Quite pricey for parking and can be a nightmare at busy times. Valet only
A great place for a quiet night close to the city centre
Lovely, welcoming hotel, set in an accessible.parr of the city centre. Clean and full of character, great venue for work functions, and food was excellent too.
Great city centre location. Short walk from everywhere we wanted to go. Rooms were spacious but dated. Generally clean and functional. TV didn't work so we changed room easily thanks to the helpful and polite staff. I left feeling as if the hotel was over priced compared to alternatives. Breakfast was nice.
Excellent breakfast. All the staff are pleasant and helpful. Will stay again.
First class from checking in to leaving
Room bathroom 1st class and breakfast delicious. Thank you V & A
Beautiful hotel inside and out, always friendly staff and nice quick pub food in the restaurant. My room was dead quiet at night so really slept well. Not an issue for me but some people like to have a bathrobe which at least in my room there wasn't one.
Excellent venue for an event.
Quality.
Room ok but got for a bargain as through secret escape. Bar nice.
Had afternoon tea here as well as stopping, highly recommend
Beautiful building, excellent staff, and the best vegan full breakfast I've ever had.
Good service. Decor OK, pretty standard rooms but comfortable and quiet. Aircon OK, on the noisy side. Would stay here again.
Great staff, good food and friendly service. Plus you can park yr coach under lock and key around the back. Could do with a long hose and water.
!!! Only a thought.. lol
Didn t stay overnight, only there for exhibition but the hotel looks great
