Roper was a phenomenal tour guide! His passion for pinball was obvious from the beginning. Roper provided great information on the business, its future and what Stern does on a daily basis. To say my visit was incredible would be an understatement!

Every person we came in contact with seemed friendly and willing to chat. The most mind-blowing part of the tour was that some of the biggest names in the industry were walking around like NORMAL people! :D

It would have been amazing to have had any one (or a few) of the designers, programmers or assembly line workers speak as part of the tour to give more insight, but Roper was able to compensate for that with his enthusiasm and knowledge of the process. Thank you everyone at Stern for what was truly an unforgettable experience!

MWFA members toured Stern Pinball last Thursday. Roper did a great job taking us through the plant and explaining all the steps in producing a pinball machine. He certainly left everyone with a real appreciation for the art of creating a pinball machine. I have received all positive feedback from the attendees. Roper's knowledge and obvious passion for pinball machines really made the tour very enjoyable. Thanks so much Roper for taking time out of your day to share the world of pinball machines with us and allowing the group to play on the machines after the tour.

Josh gave me a drop-in tour. Very good. Been playing Pball for 45 years. Enjoy their games! Go Mapquest! Then I read in U of Illinois alumni magazine that a Josh at Stern is a world class player and I did not accept the challenge to play. Need a do over, Josh. Thanks for your time.

Very cool to see where the magic happens if you re in to pinball! The process is interesting and I was surprised at the volume of people and machines in the factory. Was really impressed by how friendly everyone was - had a great last minute tour with Roper. Learned some things about my favourite games too.

Doug and Mark were excellent tour guides. They made our group feel very welcome. Our students were interested and engaged.

Bought a game for 6 grand, and 3 years later, they still haven't programmed the final advertised mode into the game. Never again.

Of the most fun pinball games and are internally some great people. We were visiting Chicago and we got a personal tour of the factory by Stern employees. The fact they would do that for a couple of pinball enthusiasts shows the type of passion they have for the industry. We can t thank them enough for the tour and hope they stay on top of the pinball industry for a long long time

Flew to Chicago In November 2019 specifically to tour the Stern factory and it was awesome ! Our guide for the day was Roper and he was exceptional. Very accommodating, very knowledgeable about the entire process and generally a really nice bloke. For anyone into pinball it is a must see. Can t thank Roper enough for the great experience.

Last October we got to visit the Stern Pinball factory while they were piecing together the Elvira machine...what a treat! A big thank you to Roper for the tour, very knowledgeable and passionate - so cool to see the magic happen ^_^

Contacted Stern to set up a tour about a month before my trip and he got back to me immediately with dates and times. Took a tour with Roper today and it was incredible. Wonderful history on Stern and a start to finish walkthrough of the pinball manufacturing process. Tour is free and there was a chance to play their machines at the end. Would recommend if you are in the Chicago area.
