Had tire sensor problems and was told that all my sensors were bad, was qouted a price of around $650 to fix. I declined that offer and went to discount tire. Discount tire found only one bad sensor and replaced it for $60. Had I not shopped around this place would have taken advantage of me. We need honest mechanics and service reps in the industry not people who are going to take us for every dime we have. Very dissatisfied with the service Hyundai, you will get more repeat customers with honesty then you ever will by taking advantage of people.

DON T WASTE YOUR TIME.

DON T WASTE YOUR TIME.
They had scheduled an appointment with me. When I walked in they mentioned you are not even scheduled? After 2 email confirmations even the same day of my appointment. Made me stay 1 hour with no help with office people sitting around and laughing? We stood outside for an additional 20 min until our service rep Chris Fredericks (who was incredibly difficult to communicate and work with) finally showed up. Extremely unprofessional and rude service. Shady sales people that don't tell you accurate information or costs. Salesmen just trying to make their money. Playing with payment terms and down payments to increase the total amount but acting like they are helping you. If you point out something about the vehicle, instead of telling you they will take a look into it, they argue with you that there's nothing wrong. Very disappointed with the obnoxious and mean spirited service we received. Good thing we didn't purchase from here.

So, I went to look at a used 2017 Hyundai Veloster at this dealership, the Carfax was clean, no accident or damage reported. I loved the exterior of the car but I insisted to take it for an inspection cause I have a mechanic friend. After my mechanic looked at the car on the mechanical jack they realized that the two wheels on the right side were totally bent and there was a rip on the inside of the tire. I went back to the dealership and let them know and asked if they could fix that. After 20 minutes of us waiting for them to discuss the manager comes out and says that if the car has that issue it is not upto their standards and they would rather not sell it at all. They didn't even give us an option if discount so we could fix it ourselves, and just said they're not selling that car, which was a lie, and the car is still on the listings and available, we even called later with a different number and asked if the Veloster was available and if it had any issues and they said it was fine! I think it was really obvious that they are trying to sell it to someone who would just trust the Carfax and wouldn't realize the issues instead of bothering to fix it! Just be careful buying cars from them, they can't be trusted!

They are simply liars. What they seem to typically do is they let an internet salesperson recommend a few cars at very low prices through chatting or phone calls, and attract buyers. Then, once you get there another salesperson shows up and say the cars are not available and suggest another car at a much higher price. So WATCH OUT!

I did come very prepared and had done my research before going in. Told them I wanted to look at a particular vehicle which I thought would be ready when I got there but they had to end up moving other cars to get to it. Once in the showroom area I have to admit I was shocked that it was packed with customers. I thought then no good deals today if they re selling that well. Negotiations started off slow as we were miles apart. But again I came prepared and had done my research. Every time I said no to their offer and said here s what I expected the young salesman would make the obligatory walk over to the sales manager. Young Alex was doing a great job staying with me. By the end I was shocked again that I got everything I wanted and more. I got what I think was a fantastic vehicle for a fantastic price. I can t give young Alex enough credit for not getting rattled by my hardline attitude. He was honest, sincere, worked very hard and was very knowledgeable about the vehicle and the financing process. Young man stayed with me through the entire process. This is the 2nd car I ve bought from a Vandergriff dealership and I believe I got the best deals and service from them versus all the other cars I d purchased from other dealers in the past. Definitely 5-stars for young Alex and I have to say 5-stars for the sales manager and the whole Vandergriff dealership.

I went in to help my father find him a used car. Immediately I was out the door within 20 minutes, this car dealership turned down my money and didn't want to negotiate. They let me walk out as one unhappy customer. I would not waste my time coming here. My family and friends won't be coming here either!!

*Update* since writing my original review, management at Vandergriff Hyundai has reached out to me in attempts to improve my experience, by honoring the originally posted online price for the vehicle, and redoing the contact for my vehicle purchase. While it does not negate the entire experience, it is helpful that someone cared enough to make amends. I had already paid my money and signed the contract, so they certainly weren't obligated to rectify the situation. A bit surprising from such a large corporate entity. *End Update*

Horrible car buying experience! First time purchasing a vehicle, so I'm inexperienced with the process, but there is no way any buying experience should be this bad. We where hit with a surprise $3,000 "conditioning fee" after agreeing to purchase the vehicle at the online listed price. This "conditioning fee" was supposed to cover the cost of a thorough cleaning of the vehicle, and some restoration to it. In my opinion this "fee" is a way to try and take advantage of customers and charge more money since you'd expect a reputable dealership to offer a car that has had some conditioning. Their online advertised price was a complete joke because they had no intention on selling the vehicle at the advertised price. When questioned about this we were told " other dealerships do this too," as if to justify the decite. Prior to showing up, we asked about the time line of the purchasing process so we'd know what to expect, and where told it would take 1 hour or less. It turned into a 3.5 hour ordeal, that I wish they would have been upfront about so we could leave our 3 small children at home. Overall the experience left a bad taste in my mouth. We ended up purchasing the vehicle because frankly I'm tired. The entire process has drained me, and it overall wasn't the worst price in the world. I would never do business here again, nor would I recommend this place to others. I attached pics of what the state of the vehicle was in after "conditioning" (which took an entire week by the way!)

Found the car I wanted online and contacted them to come and view it, Josh was advising me on the vehicle and helped me work out payments for something that suited me best. Hector the sales manager even came by to make sure everything was going alright and even made sure that they double detailed and looked over the vehicle for me one last time before it was in my hands. These guys are working hard to provide service to the customers of this city and I appreciate them going through all the effort they have won my business for life.

It's nice to go look for a car and not be swarmed by salesmen but are available if you do have a question. I have bought my last 3 Hyundais here. My husband on his 2nd. And now my daughter with her 1st. So it was nice to see Lou. A familiar face who helped us with our vehicles before. A very personable and genuine guy who really helped in any way he could to help us find the right vehicle and the right deal. Because of him and his team, we left with 3 vehicles off the lot. Thank you for taking care of us and making my daughter's first car buying experience a positive one! #hyundailife #vandergriffhyundai

I just bought my second vehicle from Vandegriff and it couldn't have been a more enjoyable experience. the sales person who helped me was Fernando Baltazar and he made shopping for a new vehicle easier than ordering at the McDonalds Drive thru. I called before hand because we live an hour away, but knew from previous experience this dealership is accommodating and relaxed. I hate pushy sales people and this is well worth the drive. I gave him my "needs/wants"list over the phone and he had multiple choices available for us. We took care of what we could over the phone so only what had to be done was done in the sales office as three of my children were with us (they had a place to play and drinks for the kids). It was a painless enjoyable experience and I have recommended Fernando to all my friends and family. So if you're in the market for a new Hyundai or used car don't hesitate to ask for Fernando and have the same pleasant experience I did.

You need to go to Vandergriff Hyundai, you need to ask for Lou Margetis. Lou is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. When we got there, he told us to look around, and get him when we were ready to talk or take a test drive. No high pressure sales tactics, no condescension. Lou was great to our 4 year old, and helped keep her entertained while she endured something that would have otherwise been miserable for a 4 year old. When you get to finance, you need to work with Darius Carter. Look, finance is about money. Darius got me from a 5.99% APR down to a 3.29% APR. He was so good he got me to do something I have never done, which was purchase an extended warranty. Darius' deal was just that good. Lou and Darius were so good, in fact, that my wife and I both bought new cars, and we had convinced ourselves we were "just looking".

Buyers beware. I made three phone calls and spoke with three people want to manager to inquire about a used vehicle on their lot. All three individuals said there was a clean Carfax and the car was in great condition. Walking up to the car it was apparent that the car had been though something. There were three huge dings on the hood of a car along with several other things around the body of the car. This information should ve been disclosed during one of the phone calls and on the online posting. Instead I ended up spending an hour and a half driving out there and driving back. I expressed to both manager and director that their customer service was unacceptable. Both tried to sell me the car stating they could take care of the dings. The point I was trying to make was completely missed. I will not return to this dealership or recommend it to anyone.

Hello and I don't know how much people pay attenti...

Hello and I don't know how much people pay attention to these reviews but i wanted to give my 2 cents on this.

I bought my car from Vandrgriff Hyundai and I bought it about 3.5 years ago. The car is great and the sales rep I had was very good.

However, I went to take my car in for a recall to the dealership because Hyundai alerted it's car owners of a very dangerous issue with their engine. When I got to the service center a worker named Mercedes attended me and I mentioned to her that I had a check engine light on my car. She told me that the dealership could do a diagnostic check to see what the error code is. She told me the cost for the diagnostic check was $150 which is waaaay too much for a diagnostic check. I can get that done at AutoZone or Pep Boys for free or with my Bluetooth OBD2 sensor. She mentioned to me that if there is anything wrong with the car that the "$150 can go toward the repair" which made sense to me so I agreed.

The next day Mercedes calls me and mentions to me that my car needed a fuel saver package and new spark plugs. When I brought up the $150 deduction to the price she mentions that the deduction is a waive for the diagnostic check?? I tried to explain this to her but she was extremely rude by speaking over me and not letting me talk. I told her that she didn't communicate that with me before hand and was trying to tell her that she should have told me it that the deduction should have been described as a waive of the diagnostic fee but she literally wouldn't let me talk. I will be sharing the conversation and my experience with Hyundai's official company.

Today I went to pick up my car and it was very frustrating being inside the service office there. Covid-19 protocols were not being followed. That same employee was literally within one foot of me and people were all clustered together. Additionally, I saw a couple of employees without their masks put on correctly. I know it's a small space but there is plenty of room in other spaces. I am appalled by their service department. I am going to forever tell all of my friends to never but from any Vandrgriff dealership and especially from that Vandrgriff Hyundai. I have owned Toyotas and Chevrolet's from other dealerships and they have always been very honest and upfront with me but this service center has been the absolute worst.

Went to purchase a vehicle, salesman Cesar was very impatient and seemed upset that my wife was not satisfied with the defects she found on the cars he was showing us. We understand they are used cars, but as a big name dealership, they should have access to better conditioned "certified preowned" vehicles

When we finally found a car we were ready to settle on, Cesar came back with a price from Hector that was higher (about $1000) than the price shown online. The online price showed $12,681 and the base price on the offer was ~$13,800.

The salesman told us he could not go lower than the price shown online, but he could go higher? Cesar asked me to present an offer that I would be happy with, and at that point I was more confused. I was being told there was no negotiation, then I was being given a chance to negotiate.
I asked for the car at $12,000 to see what he would say, he ensured that it couldn't go that low, but went back to Hector to present the offer.

When Cesar came back, the offer was about $450 lower because Hector was giving us the courtesy of cutting the "dealer prep fees" in half. I decided to walk away and Cesar quickly got up, packed his stuff and left the dealership.

I was going to leave, but the fact that the numbers weren't lining up bothered me. I came back to the dealership and I asked Hector for clarification. He told me that he adds $995 to every price to cover dealer prep fees not described online. This covers tint, and making the vehicle ready to leave the lot and is not optional. I'm sure it is the cost of the "certifying" the vehicle to be able to extend the warranty. Had I been made aware of this added cost upfront, I may not have been so apprehensive in the end.

FOLLOW UP: The dealership responded to my review as shown below. I emailed Ryan Rios to see what he had to say and have yet to receive a response. I already found a car at another dealership and don't care to negotiate, but a clarification on the price increase would be helpful. I feel as if the response from Ryan Rios is a standard reaction to all negative reviews with no intention to speak with the customer.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP, THEY ARE LOOKING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU.

Wonderful experience at Vandergriff Hyundai in trading my car in for a new Elantra. Everyone was so very kind, patient, and met my needs. Special thank you to Michael Oatman, Darius Carter, Philip and Byron! Byron really worked hard with me and braved the cold showing me around and getting my belongings from my trades in Elantra!
Special thanks to you all!

My lady had her engine lock up and brought the car in. They worked with her to get to the root of the problem with the outcome being they would fix and replace the problem at no expense to us as well as giving her a vehicle she could borrow until the work is completed.

Not saying this will happen for everyone, but the overall experience so far has been nothing less than excellent.

She is feeling a bit spoiled driving around a 2020 Sonata for the time being.

The sales experience was acceptable and price was very competitive. Patrick and Jason were great to work with and I appreciate their efforts. However, upon arrival with an agreed upon price in hand, I waited nearly an hour to get through sales and 2.5 hours to get through finance. I was not happy about waiting nearly 4 hours to close a deal that should have taken a few minutes to wrap up. Overall I am happy with the purchase but seriously, all of the duplication of efforts and information is a huge waste of time. All of this information could have been gathered online ahead if time so you can come in and sign... If you want happy customers, don't waste their time... Again, my sale people did a great job and I would buy from them again. Maybe it's time to take a page from the Carvana playbook and streamline everything into an online process... Just saying!

I asked for an OTD price quote prior to me coming to the dealership because I live 75 miles away. Was given a good price. It was type on their official price quote letterhead, sent from the Internet Sales manager. Then I was told they could not honor that price. They said the best they could do was 1k more than I was qoted. I had multiple emails stating the price we agreed on and the quotes of it all. So they officially lost a customer, lost a sale, and wasted my time an fuel for nothing. They say their rated #1 dealership in the area. I guess that's rating is for the #1 worst. Watch out for the price swaps clearly they lead me on to get me there thinking I would buy anyways. I took my business elsewhere, you should also consider doing that.

We purchased our sons first car from here on Sat. Signed the paper work but they agreed to fix a few cosmetic issues ( wrote that into the contract ). They called today ( tues ) and said its all ready. We drove out there and nothing had been fixed. The manager said they decided they would lose money if they fixed it so they would not honor the contract and we had to buy it as is. We of course said no, they broke the contract so we would not be paying for this. Horrible customer service. He was very rude. Our sales guy Hector just walked off and went to a back room. We will never use Vandergriff after their attitudes and not honoring their own signed contract.

Zero stars. BUY AT YOUR PERIL. READ ON.Buying experience was OK. Finance was a little lost. Had to go back twice to sign papers. BIGGEST ISSUE-Service department. They don't do all the work even with the simple oil changes. We had an AC issue and transmission issue with our Hyundai Tuscon. They kept the car for a week, said they could not find either problem but would get us a service car to look at it further. Would contact us with the car. Never did. We called back in a month and a half. They took the car. Gave us a loaner. Then they had the car for two months. Only communication was when we called them. At one point they said they would overnight a part to fix the AC. A part that a google search could have told you was the problem. No communication for two weeks even though they said they would call back. Turns out that part sat for two weeks before we showed up to complain and try to get our car. When we got our car back, nothing done for transmission. The light came on for the engine.
Currently the car is back for this issue, they said they would update me on MOnday. They didn't call. I called and took me over an hour to get a hold of somebody for answers. They said they would call me the next morning with an update on the next step. NO call. I called them and they are working on it. Buy from them at your own peril.

Service department is horrible. I wanted one service done that was $179.99 and I had a 10% off coupon. They had my car ready at the time promised (only redeeming point of this whole thing) and when I went to pick up my car, I waited 20 minutes before anyone would help me. My service guy finally came and the service was $186-something (before discount and taxes). I looked at him and said that it was supposed to be $179.99 before discount and taxes as their website advertises. He looked at me and went "yeah we need to change that." I just looked back at him. He eventually said he would go fix it, but acted like I was a huge inconvenience to him. I waited another 20 minutes for finance to fix it (apparently $179.99 - 10% + taxes is complicated math). The total (after discount and taxes and everything) ended up being $179.99. They had a mysterious fee called "miscellaneous fees" on my bill which probably made up for the reduction I pressed them for.

It seems like they make every effort to take advantage of you. Why can't they just honor the prices they lost on their own website? I also love how the "owner" only responds to positive reviews. What a joke! Go anywhere else.

Update: a few days later I got a survey link (which I filled out) and an email saying if my service was anything but "excellent" to call and talk to the Service Director, Scott Schroeder. I called a few days ago, left a voicemail and, of course, my call has not been returned.
