Went to purchase a vehicle, salesman Cesar was very impatient and seemed upset that my wife was not satisfied with the defects she found on the cars he was showing us. We understand they are used cars, but as a big name dealership, they should have access to better conditioned "certified preowned" vehicles

When we finally found a car we were ready to settle on, Cesar came back with a price from Hector that was higher (about $1000) than the price shown online. The online price showed $12,681 and the base price on the offer was ~$13,800.

The salesman told us he could not go lower than the price shown online, but he could go higher? Cesar asked me to present an offer that I would be happy with, and at that point I was more confused. I was being told there was no negotiation, then I was being given a chance to negotiate.
I asked for the car at $12,000 to see what he would say, he ensured that it couldn't go that low, but went back to Hector to present the offer.

When Cesar came back, the offer was about $450 lower because Hector was giving us the courtesy of cutting the "dealer prep fees" in half. I decided to walk away and Cesar quickly got up, packed his stuff and left the dealership.

I was going to leave, but the fact that the numbers weren't lining up bothered me. I came back to the dealership and I asked Hector for clarification. He told me that he adds $995 to every price to cover dealer prep fees not described online. This covers tint, and making the vehicle ready to leave the lot and is not optional. I'm sure it is the cost of the "certifying" the vehicle to be able to extend the warranty. Had I been made aware of this added cost upfront, I may not have been so apprehensive in the end.

FOLLOW UP: The dealership responded to my review as shown below. I emailed Ryan Rios to see what he had to say and have yet to receive a response. I already found a car at another dealership and don't care to negotiate, but a clarification on the price increase would be helpful. I feel as if the response from Ryan Rios is a standard reaction to all negative reviews with no intention to speak with the customer.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP, THEY ARE LOOKING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU.
