Bar-restaurant on the bank of the canal overlooked by Anne Frank's house. We settled in one of the tables at the back of the bar (outside was chilly) and we ate the famous balls of cheese and potatoes meat and cheese balls, beer and sweet orange juice. All with a very pleasant rock music in the background
Atmospheric eatery, where it is nice to sit and drink! You don't have to get there for food. Carpaccio from the Sligro. I found steak after some searching under one of the 5 new potatoes. 4 cheeses were from the AH, as well as the raisin bread roll with 3 raisins.
Saturday delicious lunch at van Puffelen. The weather was nice so we sat on the sunny terrace. Friendly service where you can chat with and delicious beers on tap for after lunch. Highly recommended!
We just had a drink there and the bar menu was a bit poor. The restaurant looks great though, but we couldn't give it a try this day.

A must-visit cafe restaurant in Amsterdam at the gates of the Jordaan. Side bar after work atmosphere, restaurant side refined cuisine lounge atmosphere. An institution for decades.

Van Puffelen originally started its life as a typical Amsterdam brown cafe, but expanded over the years into two monument buildings and now incorporates a restaurant.
The bar serves a decent selection of draft beers and attracts tourists and passers-by looking for somewhere to have a drink in a convivial atmosphere. Due to its location on Prinsengracht, contained within the 9 streets area, the bar tends to get very busy, particularly on sunny evenings. There is a small outside seating area which sometimes spills out onto the pavement making it awkward for pedestrians. The bar is a popular venue for hen and stag nights. It has a mooring on the canal for those wishing to visit by boat.
The adjoining restaurant is beautifully decorated creating a very cosy atmosphere. Here you can dine a la carte or choose your own two or three course fixed price menu, although for certain dishes, a small supplement is required. Meat, fish, vegetarian and vegan options are available. Service tends to be on the slow side. As far as pub grub goes, the food is generally good, but fails to live up to the expectations of its glamorous surroundings as it lacks in consistency.
Popped in here for a hot drink on a rainy Sunday afternoon. The waitress was so lovely.

The food and the service were impeccable. I was amazed by the quality of the food that was wonderfully well prepared (by the way the apple pie is to die for, do not miss it) !! I highly recommend this place, you will not be disappointed.
This is a great place with fantastic food. It is like two separate places with a casual bar with cafe food on one side and finer dining on the other. Great beers and drinks. We ate on the restaurant side and had salmon, steak and venison dishes. All very good. The bread and thai pumpkin soup were also excellent.

Pretty restaurant that we have walked past and wanted to try. Overall it was good, not great. The service wasn t the best. Friendly and helpful when they came by, but that was too infrequent. Things took longer than they should have, and there were only three or four tables of guests.
I like the menu choices and the prices are reasonable. You can do ala carts or two courses (app and entree or entree and dessert) or three courses.
The scallops with chorizo were quite tasty and cooked nicely. The ravioli sounded better than it was and the dish was lukewarm. The dessert we had was good (a chocolate salted caramel cake I think).
We stopped by the bar version next door and loved the music!
The atmosphere was great and the food the best of the best. The starter - carpaccio was delicious and light, the steak was on point, the dessert could have been more interesting, it was just a simple brownie with ice cream, but still very good. The only drawback was one toilet for women and one for men. There should be more toilets and they should be cleaner.
Cozy and elegant place. You will find here menu with only three types of starter, main dishes and dessert. But each of them is really tasty. Ravioli with nuts are surprisingly nice and stake was amazing. Desserts are tasty too. We spent here four hours in big company and feel ourselves very comfortable. Would recommend it. And be not shy by Fassade, Restaurant is mich bigger than it seems from outside.

Were very disappointed, came yesterday with a large group, at the table only a small menu with 3 course menus, at other tables could be selected from much larger dining cards. In addition, bread with lard for starters was served everywhere, not with us. The service was not particularly friendly, we were just tourists, the anyway not come back. It was very busy on the king's day, and all were very much required, the toilets certainly often visited, but so disgusting dirty places I have in whole Nederland never seen! (And I am often in Nederland)
We were recommended by our travel company, we passed our feedback right away, they will not do it again.

We sat in the table and took around 15 min to have the menu. Another 15 to have the drinks. The food was tasty but the service is unbearable! Avoid this place. Staff is very arrogant!

Average food and they completely missed a confirmed reservation we made for 10 persons (arguing that they had emailed us about being full but could not show us that email). Not much effort made to rectify. Finally got a table 1 hour late, food was average.
The waitresses are nice and dynamic. The food seems home made and is really tasty. But is it not a little bit expensive ? I don't know.
