Here s a little summary about my issue: went to UTA after TCC for 2 semesters. Had a low gpa so I was on academic probation. After academic probation my account was deactivated because admissions had me only for 2 semesters (never heard of such thing) so I had to REapply and pay $70. So after that, I have ANOTHER academic block, why would I have one when I just served my academic probation. Okay I get that cleared but now I have a advising block on my account. Ok, so I get that cleared but I miss the Fall registration due to UTA being very slow to responses. Okay my advisor says I m clear to register and sign up classes for Spring. Oh, but admissions deactivated my account AGAIN because I didn t sign up for Fall. Ok, well thanks for noticing me 1 day before winter break when everyone is off so now I have to wait another 3 weeks when the UTA website says if your account is not activated in 30 days, your account will be deleted. Thank you UTA for giving me so much stress and depression. When all I wanted to do was just go to school. Thank you UTA. THANK YOU.

Everyone looks forward to their experience in college as did I, unfortunately my time spent was miserable. This university is supposed to be one of the more financially accessible universities yet I spent over 2k for TWO classes worth 2 credit hours. Most of my professors either did not truly care for the subject they taught or they just really didn't care about student success. The school does not prioritize their budget in the fact that my teachers went without office phones and even paper at times in order to build a new performing arts center when the old one functions beautifully. It is not aesthetically pleasing either. It is nestled in the lower income part of Arlington so there is constantly an email regarding assaults, thefts, etc. The worst part was the ROTC program. The cadre I encountered worked completely off of the buddy system and if you weren't a kiss ass you didn't succeed. Overall my time endured at UTA was not enlightening for me. The only fond memory is that of playing intramural sports and attending university functions with friends. In hindsight, I regret attending.

I am just trying to enroll in ONE class. I can never get ahold of anyone to help me enroll, and I have been placed on hold for over 40 minutes multiple times and have not even gotten to talk to someone. Waste of my time, and nothing is straight forward.

I applied for an online RN to BSN program in June and I STILL have been unable to speak to a human being about WHY they have not received my transcript after sending it 3 times (at $25.00 per transcript). THIS HAS BEEN A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE and I have been unable to start my new position at work because of the delay. I would strongly suggest you RUN from this school. They are unorganized and unhelpful and it is impossible to speak to a human there that knows what is going on. I will be applying to a new school despite all the money I have dumped into applying and sending transcripts. It is a true reflection on how they value their students.

I ve never dealt with so many issues with simply trying to take ONE class and transfer it. It seems like they have never dealt with this issue and advisors and admissions give ME the run around on what to do instead of working together. Very unprofessional atmosphere. They have little interest in helping me resolve my issue ( potentially others) at this point i d rather pay the extra money to take the course where I m at. Extremely disappointed at my experience with UTA.

UTA is so underrated; the quality of education you get for the price you pay can t be beat any where on NTX. I graduated with an abundance of great memories from the college of business (operations management). I would highly recommend this school to anyone; it s very possible to graduate from UTA without debt.

Everyone has a unique and different college experience. Mine was no-where near perfect, but if goals and intentions seem to align I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the right people to attend UTA.
As a former student of their business school, living in the dorms for 2 years, living at on-campus apartments for 2 years, and working as a student aide for 2 years; the best piece of advice I can give is "You get what you put into it." The business school poises you for success; with multiple behind-the-scenes assistance programs.

I went here just because it was the closest four year college. Let me tell you it was a mistake. You pay $110 a semester to park a mile from your classes. You have to spend 30 hours a semester in math lab to do your homework, but if you don t go you will fail the course. Now that I m trying to transfer out I have ordered my transcripts three separate times and there has been a different problem with each order. The admissions office is too incompetent to do their jobs the first time. They are money hungry, careless about your time, and not worth the effort to deal with anymore. I m done with this school. Do not go here.

Admissions screening is very slow. My daughter applied for UTA in September. The first call we were told the application was stuck in the system and it would only take 3 business days to get application through the screening. Mid November now and they are still reviewing Spring of 2018 applications as we have been told every time we call. The call center gives the same canned answer and offers no resolution. Not very efficient when a student is trying to line up their plans for after graduation

They would rather you not be able to afford classes and drop out than to help you. They will ask you for all your required documents one at a time so that you will miss deadlines. There might be a few good people there but I have never met one. They need to be evaluated.

Atm a lot of construction is going around the university. Either adding new school building, dinning areas, or apartments around the school. The gym is great, great gym equipment, indoor track, and classes that you can sign up for if you do not like working out alone. Building are easy to locate but if you have trouble finding them people will be nice to direct to the correct locations. School spirit is shown once in a while via the fountains (blue water)
Very diverse univeristy. People from all over the U.S. and other countries.

Majored in Fine Arts: Graphic Design - got a great education from very talented teachers. Great experience! There are a lot of multi-cultural students here and certain housing has nearly 100% Indian population. They were great neighbors but I couldn't handle dinner time because the smell was very strong. Otherwise, was ok. I liked on campus housing and they had some houses for older students with kids (have to ask for it and there's a LONG waiting list). No pets on campus but I think I had a fish tank which was ok (I graduated in 2007, don't recall everything clearly).

I feel that most people who work here are incompetent and don t have a clue what they are talking about. I must have had four different answers to the same question. Forget calling them on the phone, it is best to go in person. The only reason I gave them two stars because they will work on finding a solution for their lack of knowledge.

I wish I would have chosen UNT over this school. They accept almost no transfer credits and even if you pass cleps they are usually not high enough for UTA to accept. You are required to purchase a 150$ parking pass yet they are constantly taking parking lots away from students and giving to faculty. The only one left is the main lot furthest from the campus. If you do not have the parking pass its a 50$ ticket everytime and they do not notify you for weeks. If you have any other choice of school go there instead.

UTA has all the resources in place you need for a ...

UTA has all the resources in place you need for a great college experience but it is up to you. The university is definitely coming up very rapidly, becoming more and more selective and attracting better students: It's evident everywhere.

A lot of alumni and current students complain and therefore give the school a bad name: things such as a lack of school spirit and such is only a problem to the people who just come to campus and leave right after. At this school, there is two kinds of students: The ones who are ambivalent, and the ones who are excited, have spirit and like the college. A lot of the people who come here don't bother in trying to make friends or being involved, as they have lives off-campus. However, there is a strong social life here, but it is not as apparent as other colleges where everybody lives on campus, but it's definitely here.

New buildings, tons of new professors, Arlington is spending hundreds of millions renovating the vicinity. Once you factor in the financial aid, which is very, very generous compared to other universities; the school offers probably the best educational experience per dollar in the DFW area (SMU, TCU are small liberal arts schools that simply cannot compete with the resources of a large research university). UTD gives nowhere the amount of financial aid and scholarships and is nominally more expensive.

The administration is aggressively pursuing its goals of better graduation rates, more funding and making sure UTA will become a prominent college in Texas, by attacking and claiming the DFW metroplex first. It is aggressively snatching away talent from UT and UTD in order to become the best college in the area and being mentioned up there with A&M and UT; though this won t happen overnight. However, in less than 3 years graduation rates have gone up by an impressive 10% and population has grown exponentially, all while bringing in students with better qualifications. The recruiting efforts are something to be amazed at.

A lot of its metrics, which affect holistic rankings (such as graduation rates and such) are also weighed down by its demographics, many people commute here in the evenings and are non-traditional students ( which I think is awesome!) that might take maybe one or two classes, where as large schools of comparable population have 95% full time traditional students.
Don't let "rankings" fool you, we have great professors and small-ish class sizes (again, compared to other schools of similar population).

I will be graduating debt free and I m happy with the fact that I have received a strong education and have made great friendships from people I never would have come in close contact with during my highs school years.

Overall, the best value for your dollar in the area.

If you are a White Straight male, avoid at all cost, they will accuse you of rape for the simple fact you do not want sexual advance from a gay guy, and the worst is the administration will help them kill you. They will fabricate false statement/ accuser, and become the judges and the executioner. You have been warned. They hate white men in that school, specially straight ones.

Not there for the student. I am taking online courses due to working full time and having a family. I have taken six courses over a 3 semester period. Had a problem 3 different times in 3 different classes. The first one, I had a family member pass away unexpectedly and was going to be gone from Friday-Sunday with no internet. I let my coach know and she told me to send something showing that I someone passed or was having a funeral. Ok, no problem, I sent her the obituary, she gave the information to the instructor, and they gave me until the next weekend to get my assignment turned in. NP. The second problem I had was when I was taking a timed quiz with 25 questions, I got through the 4th question and it froze. I ended up having to shut it all down and sign back in. By the time I got back to the quiz, there was only a few minutes left. I only made it through question six and the rest were counted wrong. I made a 24. Right after being done I emailed the coach and she wasn t sure what to do. Waited a week for her to figure it out then contacted the instructor. She told me there was nothing she could do about it, that it was too late. What? Then there is the 3rd. I sent in an assignment, the program told me it was received, so I go back 3 days later to see what my final grade is and it shows my assignment was never received. I notified the coach and the instructor. The coach said I should have made sure the assignment was turned in and the instructor told me it was too late, she had to turn the grades in. So twice my grades got screwed into the 70 s. I pay for my classes and spend a lot of time doing to the work to get 90 s. So I called the school about this, they told me it s all up to the instructors. Hmmm. So I m paying someone to tell me they can t help me and give me bad grades when things glitch. They know there are going to be problems at some point with online courses between using windows or IOS, the internet, and canvas. I am not paying another dime to these people.

Absolute worst parking experience I ve ever experienced. Way too many students without enough parking spots. The new parking garage is a joke. I m a commuter graduate student, so only on campus for my classes. If anyone at my company asked me if I would recommend any UTA graduate programs I would say no based solely on the limited parking. The poor quality of the curriculum is also a large factor.

As a student at UT Dallas (a school with a rivalry with UT Arlington in terms of recruitment), I do have to say that this school is worth considering (especially if you are an engineering prospective student). Though I recommend you to UT Dallas over this institution, I am very fond of UTA and the improvements that they have made in many different areas!

I finished a mechanical engineering degree here in 2015. Although I had a wide range of experiences here, looking back I have only good things to say. I lived in campus housing (The Lofts), and even ate at the cafeteria a few times. I haven t visited the campus since I graduated even though I live in DFW. I have many great memories here.

The teaching staff is adequate but the student body has too large a percent of foreigners. They lack the language and cultural skills to interact well with the staff and tend to grind classroom discussions to a halt. It would be a better school if they reduced the number of foreign applicants, but I know they won't because of the financial incentives the school gets for having them there.

Suh, never went to this campus before, im still in highschool. Name is Bailey btw. Shoutout to my college friends Bieu and Laura, also a bunch more like alcoholic Katie. So far, UTA has been a great experience, I've been locked out from a gym, caught Pokemon, and randomly joined a anime club that I had no awareness about. I heard that this campus gives you a lot of work, simply because it's UTA. I've been to UTD for a week, and there were a lot of Indians. Maybe this campus could be the same. If ya happen to see me at UTA, be sure to hit me up with some Korean BBQ. If you're a parent reading this... Send your kids here if you want them to have a college education. That's it.

I really do not understand the deal with UTA staffs. They are so rude. The financial aid office is the worst. I am very polite and respectful and sometimes they make me regret speaking to them in a respectful manner. They have to change. It hurts so much because this is about to be my alma mater. They hung up on me twice and they gave me different information. I had to drive an hour just so I can speak with someone face to face. Sad!

I love it at UT Arlington! I recently was accepted into the Nursing Program and I work as a Resident Assistant and a Telecounselor with UT Arlington's Undergraduate Recruitment. I definitely recommend getting involved on campus whether it is by joining an organization or working. I also enjoy how diverse the campus is and how friendly people are. You'll grow to be a better leader and better your communication skills. It's really how much you put into the university you will get out. Networking is possible so take advantage of this opportunity and come to UT Arlington :)

Worst University I have Experienced. They are just making you frustrated by taking all of your money inexchange the quality of service for education is worst. You can not take your right courses though you are paying for them as your academic hold won't be removed. You will left with the least demanding courses and you have no choice but to take them or drop the entire semester. If you complain to the authority you are complaining to crocodile actually. And the overal university experience is neither good. They have too little space for too many students too. Graduate study in this University can give you nightmare.

Wonderful school, but their services are ridiculously and laughably terrible. They don't straight up tell you what you need so you have to hunt everything down yourself. It takes them forever to confirm documents, sometimes even lose them. I had to physically go to their offices and show them that I sent documents in and have gotten confirmations. I don't understand how they keep losing everything I send. It is just so irritating. How can they be that incompetent.
Overall great school though.

Worst Experience ever in my college life. First day, orientation: get a TB scan Xray for some 60 bucks or so, dont remember. Parking Spots for students are way far from the buildings. Get ready to walk 15 minutes after you park in hot 100 degree F or chilly 30F(thats how Dallas weather is). Never stay in the college apartments. They make silly reasons to fine you. They even fine you if the drip pan below the electric stove is rusted. $20! Bang! I was fined more than $400 for nothing which I appealed and got some money back later but I had to go through appeal forms fillup, meet housing department people and all. There are a lot of horrible experiences I had. Dont wanna state all here. Simply, just dont go here just cuz they accepted you, cuz they accept almost all.

I attended class here in spring of 2018-fall 2018. The academics were good even if I had 1 or 2 professors that just couldn't keep their facts consistent. I was much older than most of the students here so that made it difficult to make friends because I just had very little in common with them. I stopped going because the career services office staff acted innappropriately towards me on multiple occasions. In 1 such instance I had a mock interview and the person assigned to interview me stopped mid interview and just went off on me calling me negative and told me I was an awful human being even though I had been smiling and polite and respectful throughout the entire process. If your college isn't interested in helping you get a job after graduation just stop going because the entire point of college is to get a good job after graduation. I might return later if I can afford it but right now $60k over 4 years just isn't worth putting up with hostile behavior from the career services office.

I have never in my life seen a university where the professor's will harass and degrade students just because they don't believe what the professor's believe politically. Especially one teacher named Charles m Hermes, also known on campus as Charles "Maniac" Hermes. This poor excuse for a teacher makes no secret about how he feels for students who are not extreme left-wing. He has been accused many times of harassing conservative students and the Administration has done nothing about it. Please, keep your children safe, do not allow them to attend a school where they will be harassed and ridiculed if not indoctrinated by staff.
