A wonderful visit. Exciting, ingaging and educational. The kids enjoyed learning about how the place was built and I found it fascinating how well it was preserved and the history of the place.

An amazing places to visit, full of so much history it'll get your interest as soon as you walk in, just make sure you give yourself plenty of time, oh and make sure you do the Yeoman guided tour, these guys are so unbelievable and knowledgeable it's unreal, the one that took us around was a proper decent bloke and an amazing story teller.

well maintained and presented like all other stuff in London. Not a very massive structure for a fort. small compared the large Indian forts. but it's right in city centre. doesn't take a lot of time. the guide there has a lot of energy and history to be shared in a manner unheard of. Overall compared to the other attractions in the city it's average though by no means is worth missing a trip. bound to have a good time at all tourist attractions in London and this ones no different

This was better than expected. The guide by the Yeoman was extremely entertaining and educational, give that man a tv show. It made a difference that the place was virtually empty and we could spend as much time as we liked viewing all the exhibits... especially the Crown Jewels. I highly recommend this attraction.

Not the best value for money experience. In fairness we perhaps never allowed sufficient time to experience the attraction fully, trying to cram so much into a busy weekend schedule. However, that being said - the attraction entry is expensive and thus the audio commentary should be included in this price not a separate chargeable entity. Many like us, may not have the time for the guided tour or want to trail around as part of a large crowd and the option for the audio commentary should be available as part of the entry price.
If not part of a guided tour due to time restraints, it is difficult to ascertain a route or advised direction of where to start the experience and so people often wander aimlessly around and the attraction perhaps does not make as much sense as it could.

The yeoman tour is excellent! However... We took the tour with 200 of our closest friends. Yes, it's packed with tourists (ourselves included) so be ready for people talking loudly while the yeoman is sharing information and pack your sharp elbows, because it gets crowded. The Yeoman themselves are hilarious and knowledgeable. The lineup for the crown jewels was long but moved quickly and was worth it. The central tower was a nice walk through. The battlements and torture chamber were long waits for what they were. We went on a Sunday, so it's about what we expected for the crowds. I suggest going on a weekday if you can. The whole event is a bit pricey, but you definitely get a one of a kind experience.

Tower of London, officially Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress of the Tower of London, is a historic castle located on the north bank of the River Thames in central London. It lies within the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, separated from the eastern edge of the square mile of the City of London by the open space known as Tower Hill. It was founded towards the end of 1066 as part of the Norman Conquest of England. The White Tower, which gives the entire castle its name, was built by William the Conqueror in 1078 and was a resented symbol of oppression, inflicted upon London by the new ruling elite. The castle was used as a prison from 1100 (Ranulf Flambard) until 1952 (Kray twins),[3] although that was not its primary purpose. A grand palace early in its history, it served as a royal residence. As a whole, the Tower is a complex of several buildings set within two concentric rings of defensive walls and a moat

Took one of the free tours offered, which made all the difference. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and entertaining. He engaged all of the visitors of all ages, making it interactive and fun.

It's absolutely incredible! There is history literally leaking out of every brick in every part of the Tower. The yeoman guide we had was superb and really brought the story of the Tower to life (thanks Andy!). This is the 3rd time I've been and I learned something new each time.
The food in the cafe is also excellent. Not cheap by any means, but it is good food with generous portions.
It's brilliant to be able to walk round 950 years of English history. The Tower is well worth visiting time and time again.

Recently watched the program on TV so whilst in london had to visit, great place with lots of history, only issue was we must have had the only warder made of sugar for the tour as he stopped it part way through because of rain but he was obviously different to me as I couldn't see or feel any

So we'll organised and our Yeoman Warder guide Steve was absolutely brilliant - knowledge and wit was great and made the tour very worthwhile. Highly recommend waiting for the Yeoman Warder guides every 30mins. Very good value for money that takes you back to William the Conquer and forward to HRH-EII.

This is a must see place in London! Such great history. Highly suggest you purchase ticket in advance for discount and get there right when they open. Go see the Crown Jewels first because the line can get really long then join the beefeater tour which is approximately one hour long. He really brings the property to life and is entertaining. After the tour, visit the White Tower and rest of the towers. You ll probably need to plan for at least 3-4 hours to really see everything.

Great day out with our grandsons. The only thing that was a negative as far as we are concerned is we are too old to enjoy everything on offer. We were run ragged by our two boisterous youngsters. They had a fabulous time.

A must see place for any tourist visiting London. A paradise for the person who is interested in history. The best section is the crown jewels. You need atleast half a day to complete the visit.

It was the finest place to see. The entrance fee is a bit expensive. But it was worth it.
So many historical stories... so many valuable things... especially the Queen's CROWN. This is the place where they keep it...
I cannot remember all the interesting stories they share in this remarkable place... but This London Tower is the one of the best place to hear and read and feel the real story of England...

It is a place where you can take many beautiful pictures. Especially the tour that the Yeomen warders led was enjoyable. However, I had to give up queuing up for the most popular part of the tower, the jewelry exhibition hall, since the queue was almost two hours. Tickets are quite pricy considering a long que. You can buy cheaper tickets online than onsite.

The Tower is a great experience when visiting London.

It's not cheap but you can get a 2 for 1 discount when using a railway Day's Out voucher.

You have to visit early morning though, the ticket office only had two windows open when I went at 9.30am and it took 10-15 minutes to get to the window in the queue.

If you have kids get to the White Tower first and go to the top floor for the interactive room. There's no toilet in there so you'll have to walk all the way to to top floor to come down again and go outside. By 10:30 this room was extremely busy.

It's a shame there wasn't interactive devices in the other rooms of the White Tower as it would have made the kids more interested in the history but they still loved the armour and weapons.

The Beasts room is small so don't expect much. We spent about 5 minutes in there. It's mostly information and no models of animals etc.

A great way to learn a bit about London s history!
Do not miss the guided tour with a real Yeoman Warder (or so-called beefeater) as it is very informative and also a lot of fun! The tour is included in the entrance fee.
You should bring some time as there is a lot to see (we were there for about 3 hours but would have stayed longer if the tower hadn t closed).

I didn't know what to expect but it was brilliant from the staff (who were amazingly helpful and knowledgeable), to the castle, on to the exhibits, the food and finally the computer graphics. I usually try to find something to moan about but I didn't find anything. Great day for me and my grandchildren especially as we has travelled from Bath.

Really amazing place, I went here thinking it was going to be a small hour or so deal. I didn t realise how large the place was! It takes you into another world. A really interesting experience. I would highly recommend to everyone to wait for the yeoman warder tour as it is really part of it and helps you get to know what goes on here and the history of the place.
Well recommended and give yourself enough time to see it all.

Tower of London, probably should be seen to be enjoyed. Way better up close than in pictures. The tour is very interesting, suggest you make a day out and visit.

Has an excellent souvenir shop and worth buying a bottle of mead if you haven't tried it.

Great place to take the family, provided you fancy adding a little culture to your life

Fun and engaging tours done by the beefeaters!! Comes with admission too! Definitely worth the money and time, shows an interesting part of history. Went on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty busy, wish I went on a weekday.

Steeped in history, and a London icon, the Tower is a fabulous castle that has stood for a thousand years. Be sure to take one of the tours conducted by the Yeoman Warders, and to visit the Crown Jewels. If you wish to explore every nook and cranny, allow a good 4 hours, otherwise 2 hours is sufficient to take it all in.

Probably one of my favorite attractions while visiting London. They had lots of history on the different towers inside, an awesome armory collection, history about several kings who helped build the towers, training Ravens, and an exhibit on the history of torture in England.

What can you say about the Tower? Crown jewels were fab, the armoury was interesting the ravens were delightful.
I would like to see more interactive displays as I walked around, I got tired of reading boards. More ambient doings effects too, the ones they had were good and the royal mint window effects were exactly what they need more of in the other towers and palace apartments.
Everyone should go if they have any connection to British or European history, never let the ravens leave.

The Tower of London is a must visit while in the city. Our hotel was very close to the sight so we just had to take a short walk to get there. We got there at 12:00 and did not have to wait in line for the tickets. Once inside we waited for a one hour long Beefeater tour. Although there was a lot of people on the tour it was still very fun and worth the wait. Later we went to see the museums. We really wanted to go and see the Crown Jewels but got discouraged by the horendous amount of people in line. So we went to see the other museums they were fun too. Later when the line got shorter we went to see the Crown Jewel. Even though the lines to the museum were long the trip was great.

This was a nice way to spend a few hours on a trip to London. The history is presented well with the audio guide. Lots of content is there to justify the cost, and it's a good view from here as well.

A brilliant day out. Spent 6 hours walking around all the attraction. Get there early and vist the Crown Jewels first. The tour with the Beefeater is a must. Then the tower itself. Then the rest of the grounds. The food in the cafeteria is expensive but it's part of the day unless you carry your own food. Overall it is a brilliant place to visit if you love history and even if you don't.

I really wanted to give a warm public thank you to the amazing Yeoman who helped us immensely! We came here last July with our 5 month old. It was over 80F and there was absolutely no shade to be found; the crown jewel line was atrocious; we were ready to give up. Amazingly, a Yeoman showed up out of nowhere and asked if anything was wrong and how he could help! I said, Well, we re worried because we can t wait in the hot sun with our baby.
He took us through the handicapped entrance and it saved our day!
Aside from that wonderful help, the entire place is so well maintained. It was fantastic and we had an incredible day. It s definitely a whole day trip or multi-day, if you re lucky enough to be able to do so.
We have to return someday because there s so much to see!
Strollers were fine, but we locked ours (bike attachment combi-stroller) up. It didn t make much sense and wasn t allowed in the buildings (at least we assumed!).
