My boyfriend has been to 2 different hospitals multiple times which were Hartford Hospital & here at UConn... He's been suffering more & more everyday & the "doctors" don't know what is going on, either an Ulcer or Acid Reflux but keep sending him home with numerous meds. I'm very upset about everything's that's happening (NEVER any definite answers.) The doctors keep dismissing him & what he's going through. God forbid something happens to him because they refused to do any tests that "supposedly" could detect things further, I'm going to file a grievance then sue the hell out of this hospital for negligence!! This is total bulls**t! If you can't already tell, I'm pissed! I guess because we don't have black American Express card or neither one of us have "Trump" for a last name were not worthy of their the best care.
Also in every hospital I've been to have "GUEST" WiFi, which guest means to me is, since I'm a guest I should be able to get in without any log in info. But for some reason when I come to UConn it says "GUEST WIFI" but as soon as I try to connect it'll ask for "Log In" & "Code" I asked personnel but no one knows the reason for it. In every hospital I've been to I've NEVER had a problem getting into WiFi except in this joke of a hospital! I definitely won't refer anyone to come here! I had to give a 1 star rating cuz there wasn't a lower option. booooooo

The most unorganized facility I've ever worked with. My PCP is never available, and when I do have my scheduled exams it's like we are meeting for the first time and the entire appt lasts 15 minutes. I spoke with a nurse on the phone this morning about my symptoms and she told me my PCP wasn't available so another doctor would call me at 10:40AM. By 10:50 I had heard nothing so I logged into the portal and saw they have my husbands name on my insurance (we've never shared insurance), and my maiden name is still on my file (even though I submitted my name change and updated insurance info 1.5 years ago). So I call the office back and they said I had no PCP and no record of my new name so that's why the doctor didn't call me during our scheduled time. How did I manage to set up an appt with a doctor if you allegedly don't have me on file? I finish fixing the insurance and name issue with the rep and she finally goes "anything else I can help you with today" I reply - "UH YES, I STILL NEED A DOCTOR TO CALL ME BECAUSE I AM SICK AND NEED HELP!" This place is a mess. I am researching new physicians TODAY.

Best hospital out there!! I've been with all their specialist for 10 years and I couldn't be happier. I have an Obgyn, cardiologist and genetic specialist here and they are all so helpful. Worth the 45 minute drive for the great care I receive here!!

8 hours at emergency room and the doctor said he doesn't know what's going on. Sent wife back home with adviel and the same excruciating pain she went in with. They are going to bill my insurance with $1000s and gave us a runaround for 8 hours with no results. Incompetent and poor management. I know insurance covers majority of cost but your deductible is going to waist too. Do not go there.

This so called research hospital is responsible for the death of my grandson. My daughter who was referred to Uconn bc of a high risk pregnancy had a still born bc of medical malpratice. She was extremely sick durning her last two months to where she was homebound and on a intervenous pump bc she couldnt keep anything down. Countless times I had to bring her down there bc of low potassium and twice for preeclampsia. The resident drs took this case very lightly and did not do what was expected of them. She called the night before she had the still born and told them she wasnt feeling right and she could not walk. She was dropping to her knees everytime she tried to walk. I explained to that dr that she isnt right and something is wrong. This dr talked her out of coming down bc she had a stress test on the next day.My daughter felt the baby moving that night. When we went to the appointment the next day, sadly the baby, my grandson Benjamin, passed away.My daughter delivered by c section and shortly after went into a catantic state of shock. Thats when they asked if she wanted a autopsy done and in her state said no. REALLY? She wasnt in her right mind at the time. However the hospital knew the family wantex one done as I spoke with them about testing the babh for mitochondrial disease which runs in our family. To my surprise the nurses didnt even know what that was and I had to explain it to them. They gave nothing to my daughter for pain bc they thought since she was in a catanic state that she felt no pain. Sick! They had the baby wrapped in a blanket and hat and when my daughter asked for them so she could have something of his they said they sent them with him to be cremated. How rude and shameful on their part. Please do not go here if you are a high risk pregnancy. Save your babys life and go elsewhere. We will sue for the wrongful death of a baby that deserved to live. He weighed 5lbs 13 ounces and should have been delivered the weej before when she was displaying signs of preeclampsia. They never did an ultrasound on the baby to see if he was big enough to be delivered which he was. I would give -100 stars if given the choice.

I've been to this hospital several times. Before and after renovations. There is always a wait time for any doctor's office you go to. I know, I work in the field. I've had no issues with these facility really. Maybe one doctor or one registration person that was annoying to me ones in a while, nothing out of control or I can't get over though. Other than that, my issues were addressed so, I was happy with the service I got. People expect to go right in and be out like it's a fast food place. A hospital needs time, to triage your problem, take care of most dire needs. If your problem isn't life threatening, calm down. I will always return. I've been seen in this hospital since I was 10. It's been about 30 years now. Thank you for all the work you guys do to help your patients as best you can. Sorry for the bad comments you must receive all day. We, deep down to some, appreciate the work you guys do.

This is specifically about the psychiatry/mental health department. I called their patient intake line on February 8th, and left a message - the recording said they attempt to return calls within two business days. I did not hear back until February 16th - they requested information from my Dr which she sent, and then I heard nothing. I called again on the 27th, March 19th, March 26th, and again on April 3rd. On April 3rd I was told that one of the two people I was trying to contact had retired, and I left a message for the other but as someone who is struggling and was calling to get help this has been a horrible experience. Being made to feel like I have to beg for help and then be ignored has not helped my mental state, but rather made it worse. I would recommend seeking psychiatry treatment elsewhere.

Even if I am critically ill or dying, I will NOT be a patient at this hospital again
Overall experience:
1. One employee thought he could use my medical sensitivity against me. Dousing himself in unpleasant cologne and frequently inventing tasks in order to re- enter my hospital room.
2. I am certain I was intentionally given unsanitary water to drink with medications by an emergency room employee. Short male with dark hair.
3. Despite treating staff considerately, SOME emergency room personnel gave off the intense impression that they were most invested in antagonizing patients; as opposed to conducting themselves like sincere, considerate, medical employees.
4.The same male who provided the unsanitary drink, stalled and hesitated to provide me with a copy of the discharge document I signed; with the time and date on it. He hoped I would leave with the B L A N K copy of the discharge paper work I specifically requested (absent of critical information! Like my signature, and the date I was seen!). NOT all the emergency room staff were so blatantly unethical/unprofessional. Yet this behavior, on their part, Is largely CONDONED by most of the other staff as. I am NOT surprised by the hospital working adults, who behaved so immorally and without maturity towards me. I documented my visit.
For the those who did not participate in such behavior, thank you.
I am EXTREMELY grateful, since this final mainstream medical experience has SOLIDIFIED the importance + GREATER EFFICACY of CONSISTENT SELF CARE and OPTIONS in terms of health care - related measures; in MOST cases!
I will NOT be back!
Details:
On Tuesday 08.04.2020, Due to a sensitivity to some chemicals in most fragrances, I was ambulanced to UConn after an outside physical therapist, wore an unethical amount of fragrance to go visit my elderly client.
On 08.04.2020, The last place I desired to be, was at a hospital. I did not want to go to the hospital. Due to the severity of the reactions I was having; it was recommended, by well intentioned health care professionals; that I go immediately to the hospital.
The vibe (behavior + spirit of employees) was weird from the very beginning, which didn t surprise me. As is usually the case with ambulance rides and hospitals. My blood pressure was checked inside the ambulance (what felt like 30 times) + my blood sugar was taken though I verbally expressed that am not diabetic. I was told it was standard procedure in transporting critical care patients.
Upon arrival (+prior to arrival) the hospital, staff on the emergency unit had been made aware that I was entering the hospital, due to a sensitivity to chemicals in most fragrances. Despite that, some of the staff took pleasure in dousing themselves in fragrance and creating reasons to continuously walk by me; on multiple occasions (while I was inside and waiting outside of the hospital). I believe I was the only patient on the emergency unit on this occasions.. I didn t see any other patients on the ER unit on this day.
One UCONN emergency unit, staff member, (the one in the picture) entered the room to take my blood pressure. Left the room, then re-entered the room, Freshly doused in an odorous cologne + a smirk on hi face; attempting to re-take my blood pressure. I ordered him to leave the room, as it wasn t difficult to see his intentions were to intensify the reactions I was having. Average height male, pale, blonde with blue eyes.
If this is what the community is willing to put up with, then their future is bright!

IF you are an American citizen, and have property that is alienable YOU will pay to the last farthing. Of course, they need to pay for all the "self pays", illegal aliens, and collect the pennies on the dollar from Medicaid.
So DO NOT BE AN AMERICAN CITIZEN OF THE MIDDLE CLASS!!!! UCONN is only for those who are subsidized or the wealthy.

I went for my annual physical that already I had to wait two months to be seen due to covid. When I get there they tell me that my appointment was rescheduled by them and not for another two months is the appointment. I was not notified whatsoever and my contact info has not changed. My boyfriends appointment was still good and as he was in his I waited in the waiting area where I could clearly hear the woman behind the desk taking about what had happened with my appointment like it was for the whole room to hear. Not a good experience.

Spent hours in the ER to be sent home with no tests and a diagnosis of heartburn. Returned several hours later in horrible pain, had to wait an other 4 hours before being seen, turns out I had acute gall bladder attack that required surgery. They claim this isn't a misdiagnosis. If you want to "know better care" - go somewhere else!

One of the worst institutions I ve ever visited du...
One of the worst institutions I ve ever visited due to their unprofessional and incompetent administration. I wish I could give this place negative stars. I went to the ER twice this year, and while I have no complaints about my treatment from the nursing staff, I do have a lot of negative experiences with the administration.
Incompetent Billing department: Each ER visit, while IN THE MIDDLE OF TREATMENT, a billing person comes into my exam room with a computer cart to charge me for the visit. I am in my hospital gown, in pain, discussing pertinent and very private health information with the nurse/doctor while the billing person is hovering by the room waiting to charge me. As soon as the nurse/doctor steps out in between treatment, the billing person enters immediately and asks if I can pay for the service right then and there. Fine, I pay the $250 each visit. Not the best experience in my opinion, but certainly not the worse. It wasn t until the 2nd ER visit when the billing person told me that I could fill out a waiver for the co-pay and get reimbursed for the $250/visit. I fill out the waiver and file it with my insurance. My insurance paid the co-pays for both visits immediately, so now UCONN is paid 2x for each visit, and I am now owed a refund of $500. I call UCONN billing to see when I should receive my refund, and they told me that they did not initiate a refund because I needed to call and release the refund. Okay...I ask them to release it (this is on 10/23), and then I asked when I should get my refund. They told me that they don t have a timeline to give me because multiple people handle the paperwork. Okay... 2 weeks pass by, and I call UCONN billing for an update. They now tell me insurance only paid for one visit, and that since I didn t pay the $250 co-pay for one visit, I now owe $250. Okay, what?! I told UCONN billing that I paid at the time of service at each visit and that my insurance company paid for both co-pays. They finally realized that they were incorrect, so I ask again when I should expect a refund. She tellls me again that she doesn t know. At this point I ask to speak to a supervisor. Of course, the supervisor is out that day. I leave a voicemail with the supervisor, and have since talked to him on a weekly basis regarding this situation. I am finally credited $250 for one visit 3 weeks ago and (after going back and forth another 2 weeks) I was told I should get another refund of $250 by check yesterday. I check the mail, and guess what? I get a BILL for $250!! So instead of a check, I get a bill. I tried calling the supervisor, and of course, he is out. It has now been months, and I am still waiting for my money. Absolutely ridiculous!
Rude and unprofessional medical records department: I had to transfer my ER visit results to my doctor so I called UCONN medical records to put in a request. They tell me that I can t get access to my files and that the doctor needs to call for them. Okay, I call my doctor and tell them to call the hospital to request my files. My doctor tells me that LEGALLY I have a right to my medical records, but they will call on my behalf anyway. My doctor calls me back and tells me UCONN told them that I need to release my records to my doctor first. I call UCONN and again, they say I can t access my own records. Frustrated with the process, I ask to speak to a manager to determine what I need to in order to release my records. Instead of passing me to a supervisor, they pass me to a ruder co-worker. When I asked her what her name was, she refused to give me her name and admitted she was not a supervisor. I eventually had to contact patient relations in order to release my records.
RUN far away from this place! There are so many terrible experiences I ve had with this place over the years that I could write a horror book about it. Nothing is ever easy; everything is done backwards and in the worse possible way. I ve spoken to quite a few people about my experiences, and I understand that I m not alone in this feeling. Would never visit this place ever again.

We have been there several times for dental treatments. Their student clinic is unimaginably inexpensive. But service is lengthy, too. What I didn't like are the long wait over phone and the months-long waiting period for the new patient appointment. Considering price, it is still worth saving.

The receptionists are incompetent, rude, and unhelpful. They transferred me back and forth several times just to get me registered as a new patient, then seemed mad at ME for it. The urology doctor I saw said about 2 full sentences to me and barely even looked up from his laptop. He immediately wrote off everything I said to him as no cause for concern and didn t do any diagnostic testing other than a urine sample, then sent me home with no advice or any help at all. Well guess what? 2 weeks later after my appointment with him, I was rushed to the ER with a kidney stone causing blockage and severe pain. If this doctor had listened to a word I said and did a simple scan, we would ve found the stone and taken care of it instead of having to rush to the ER thinking I m dying. Avoid this place at all costs.

I Arrive for appointment to sit in a room and wait for a doctor to come in and it took 45 minutes before anybody came into the examination room This place just seems to be a training AREA for inturns... No calls BACKS, no test results, NO phone calls RETURNED its a joke!!!!!

Absolutely the worst care and rudeness. Yes I got upset and voiced my concerns. Yes I got rude after being basically labeled by dr gilroy I think her name was. Loved how she slammed the door across from me. Telling me doc will be in to reduce the fractures, nope they just splinted it. Get told there were 2 fxs, tib fib, wrong thank god I went to my hospital, lateral malleolous is fx also. I had 2 beers before the incident and doc wouldn't let me leave cuz I could not make a rational decision, well breathalyzer was .04. Then you tell the nurse you need to use the bathroom, waited 20 minutes had to tell him again. There's much more but I think you get the point, maybe the doc should work in a morgue where she doesn't have to interact with humans.
Well. It's been 3 days sent my email no response. I see how sorry you are. I am a nurse and would never treat anyone the way I was treated. I was labeled because I had 2 beers was told I could not leave the hospital because I was not of sound mind after 2 beers. She wanted me to get a cervical spine but repeatedly told her along with the people that were with me that I never hit my head. I've since had surgery that stabilized my fractures and I was treated very professionally and the doc was appalled at what this hospital did. Word of mouth gets around. Had surgery start at 0745 and was out of hospital by 1330. I also was never not once offered anything for pain. Not even a non steroidal! Dont bother contacting me now. Dont bother to send a bill either as I have contacted my lawyer.

An amazing campus. Everyone is so helpful and professional. There is plenty of parking, and buses are always coming and going. There is a great sidewalk for walking and running, and plenty of choices to have something tasty at the food court. The library is excellent for research, and the knowledgeable staff are really helpful to point you in the right direction.

UConn Health honestly deserves much more than just 5 stars. I recently took my mother to the ER not too long ago. The entire facility is clean and well kept. Everyone is very nice, compassionate and professional including but not limited to the intake specialists, guards, doctors and resident doctors.

I want to thank the Dr.Ramzi Alkass and each of his colleagues during my 37 weeks of pregnancy were very attentive, responsible.
It has been the best hospital that I visited in Connecticut I loved that they are very organized and punctual.
In the Birth Part, I greatly thank each of the nurses who treated me, the anesthesiologist, Dr. Alkass for treating me good , for being very responsible and attentive that I and my baby were well, before, during and after childbirth .
The hospital stay was a pleasure, the food delicious.
Anyway I loved that they worked as a team.
Thank God for each one of the people who were a great blessing in this process. Unconn does it better
THANK YOU UCONN
they need more hospitals and people like you!!!

I have been a happy patient here for over 15 years with numerous doctors and health concerns. I have always paid my bills on time. The one time I go to the ER, my insurance changed for the worse and I owed a large sum of money. I spoke to them and we said I would pay a monthly fee, which I have been doing EVERY month. All of the sudden, with NO warning I receive a notice from a collection agency. I was appalled as I have excellent credit and saw nothing on the website or in writing from UCONN previously that they broke our verbal agreement. Extremely disappointed, watch your backs!!!

The physicians at UConn Health are excellent. This 1 Star review is for UConn Health's new outpatient pavilion facility. UConn Health has relocated many of the University Physicians group of doctors into this new pavilion with parking now at Garage 1. With this change, patients are now being required to pay for parking. While the rates are reasonable - $1 an hour - the payment process requires the use of an automated pay station. These APS are only available in English - I wonder if UConn Health will provide interpretors for their non-English patients? When exiting the garage the signage is for "credit card and monthly pass" - however this gate is where the average, now paying patient has to go and submit their parking ticket into to the kiosk for the lift gate to operate. With UConn Health's competitors offering free or validated parking, one wonders how many patients will opt to go elsewhere? Physicians do not have the ability to validate parking - even if they are delayed in seeing the patient past the appointment time resulting double the parking fee; and they too are against patients having to pay for parking. So if patients want to truly make their voices heard, then fill out the follow up Press-Ganey survey with appropriate comments - - patient satisfaction is a measurable attribute which is report to HSS. Also leave reviews on social channels such as Google.

I would emphatically urge anyone to seek DENTAL treatment anywhere but here! If you require a simple extraction, then I would say, "ok." However, 1 time I did need a lower molar removed & this tiny little student was unable to do it. This was not even a tooth way back - it was in an easy spot. Eventually I BEGGED for a different "student " - none were available. I then asked a teacher or supervisor for help. Ya, he came into the room & simply watched her fail over & over again. There is a nurse who has been there forever. She looks like a rough woman. In all the years I had been there, she showed me compassion for the 1st time and held my hand. Just over an hour later, the tooth was finally out. This place is absolutely horrible & they wrecked my entire mouth. I have 3 teeth left after only a few yrs. They botched EVERY SINGLE ROOT CANAL! The students are horrible. I once went to a new dem dentist & when I saw that she graduated from UCONN, I left b4 she ever touched me.
I do realize they are students, but I've been to hospitals in the back woods of NY State, and those kids KNOW what they're doing! UCONN =dental fail!

My husband drove me to Uconn emergency room because I was having severe chest pain and tightness all over, I've had a stroke before and this felt the same. When we made it into the emergency room I will never forget the nurse Ali that made me feel so safe and calm, he sat me in a wheelchair and told me I was in the right place an in the right hands, he said we are trained professionals and had been doing this for many years, he rushed me into the back and did a EKG and also he took a bunch of blood work, usually nurses have a really hard time finding my veins and end up sticking me multiple times which is painful. Ali got it the 1st try. He just told me relax an focus on breathing, he just made me feel so safe And at ease, I was then admitted for 3 days, with stemi. I just wanted thank the amazing staff especially Ali and all the amazing doctors and nurses that helped me.

My wife was pregnant and did not feel well so she came here for a checkup at the ER she had to wait from 1:30 to almost 8 in the evening to be fully evaluated and discharged and when I spoke with the doctor and asked why it could take this long she said the radiologist and other specialists were busy seeing other more serious cases first. So in other words she said " THIS HOSPITAL IS HEAVILY UNDERSTAFFED" otherwise how can you expect to wait 6-8 hours when you go to the emergency room might as well go to a walk in clinic. I don't reccomend this hospital to anybody they are rude and heavily understaffed they need to hire more people asap and next time if somebody needs to go to the ER I say go in an ambulance you have better chances of getting done sooner otherwise they just take their sweet time and theirs not enough people any way to support the influx of patients pretty soon it will resemble a third world country hospital very sad and disgusting!!! On a side not we used to live in queens ny and Elmhurst hospital was the same way hours and hours of wait to be evaluated and ghetto staff you have to deal with well I feel slowly uconn hospital is becoming a ghetto hospital with a bad reputation just like Elmhurst hospital in queens ny. UCONN hospital please hire more staff to run your hospital I recall a time it wasn't always this way and you would get done within an hour sometimes from the ER. Please hire more STAFF before somebody has a heart attack from stress of waiting and waiting to be evaluated in the ER.

Also, the patient portal does not accurately reflect the visit charges. The office even admitted that the patient portal is not accurate for billing. What is the point of a portal if it is not accurate.

Outpatient Psychiatry, 10 Talcott Notch Rd., Farmington, CT
I would suggest that anyone considering getting involved with the University of Connecticut Health Center Department of Outpatient Psychiatry at 10 Talcott Notch Road be very careful before doing so. After working with this department for a matter of years, I came to see too late that I was being misdiagnosed and overmedicated, with disastrous consequences--within a short period of time after being prescribed a drug I later found that I didn't need, I started losing my otherwise fine teeth to severe drymouth and ultimately lost almost all of them. I would be especially wary of Andrea Barletta.

The new facility is gorgeous. I love the fact that its a teaching hospital. That said, its very hard to navigate both inside and outside (I got so lost I was late for my appointment and they told me the doctor may not see me!!), the parking is a pain (its only a dollar and some offices validate, but its a pain to not lose the ticket, find my wallet and a dollar or a credit card... just a pain). One of my doctors is great the other not so much; both are leaving after one year. Not sure if this is common. Still not sure if I am going to stay with UConn or not.

The ER is beautiful but aside from that I brought my friend in for a tooth ache. Admitting was very fast. DR. Emily was very sweet and took wonderful care of my friend. I would recommend Uconn over any hospital in central CT.

The most rude, condescending, and disorganized group of people I have ever met, especially when it comes to their own mistakes. I went for a sleep study through Uconn health and the technician was not just rude, but the most rude individual I think I have ever met. Wasn't helpful at all, and told me I would hear back in 5-10 days, but it was a month before I called and had to initiate getting my results back, and had to go to my own physician who confirmed my sleep apnea.
When I called to get the results they accused me of never going there and said I must have missed my sleep study, as if I would forget going to a sleep study? Finally it was determined they misspelled my name, no apologies, but then said they can't help me I have to make an appointment for another month out (two months post sleep study and confirmed apnea). They also called to tell me my insurance was declined and said it would cost hundreds of dollars. Finally I found out they entered my insurance id number incorrectly. Again, no apologies, just rude and stuck up attitudes.
I could almost deal with the rudeness if they were helpful at least, but they aren't. It's almost like you are bothering or annoying them with your medical problems. I have been extremely tired, gaining weight, and experiencing many side effects of sleep apnea but by the time I get the cpap machine which my ear nose and throat doctor already said I need, it will be about 4-5 months after my sleep study with them confirmed it, so I just have to live with the side effects while this so called "sleep center" gives me the run-around and files my information incorrectly while accusing me of not doing what I need to do. Thanks, UConn Health!

I will never use this hospital again. I went to the er and was in a room within 20 minutes. Unfortunately, I was in that room for two hours with no registrar, nurse or dr coming in. I walked out and saw no dr, while the nurses were all at the nursing station. There were only 4 patients at this time. They forgot I was there!

The orthodontic office is great here! I honestly would not recommend any other place for orthodontics (braces and such). The doctors here are great and work with you perfectly. They always have a smile on their faces and are really truly happy with what they do everyday!

Best care in CT! Amazing nurses and doctors including everyone from housekeeping to the food service staff..receptionists, phone operators go above and beyond! They truly care about their patients. Terrific team of intelligence. They save lives here and put the patient first. Our family is truly greatful for all UConn staff. Thank you UConn!!! They saved my mother's life. This hospital should be a model of what all healthcare should be. But....Lori Palo the director of social work needs to be fired! She held my family member back from getting into the best physical therapy facility. And from then on it has been hell for our family. For over a year she has tortured our family member because we couldnt get help from after that hospital discharge. UConn is amazing except for her. And very upset the administration of this hospital backed her up. I speak the truth. She got livanta involved and had my family thrown out of their benefits. Battle ever since. Has caused our family member duress. Set back in their care. And still going on because of Lori Palo's negligence.

Uconn dental is the One of the worst ER I have ever come across.
The staff is rude and unhelpful and extremely insensitive. I came here on a holiday and the doctor working here told me that they could pull my tooth the next day and even referred. I am in agonizing pain and when I come here next day I am told that they dont do it. She simply shut me down and I said it was an emergency and I'm in a lot of pain and she doesn't care and the earliest she could do is after 3 months. Seriously???
Save yourself some time and money DO NOT VISIT HERE!!! Do yourself a favor.
Bunch of pathetic people who dont know the meaning of emergency!!

Our stop here was most unexpected. After suffering for a few days, we packed up to head back home to California. After being in severe pain from Massachusetts all the way to the hospital I couldn't take it anymore and we were brought here. The staff was very friendly and helpful getting me in the back. We got everything done very quickly and the dr was in within 20 mins. She was able to quickly ID the problem and get me on a medication regime and even something to make sure I wasn't in writhing pain. Thank you for the quick and supportive staff.

I went into the ER one night, close to midnight, with pain in my ears due to a previous double ear infection. I waited an hour to be seen, only to have the doctor look in my ears and say "I can see why you're in pain, but I'm not going to give you anything". I was in some of the worst pain I've ever felt, but apparently that warranted no treatment.
When the nurse discharged me, she recited the typical "thanks for stopping by, I hope you feel better", adding insult to injury. I literally received NO TREATMENT, so how could I have felt better?!
A few days later, I received a follow-up call from UConn, asking how I was feeling -no better. The woman on the other end urged me to see someone about my ears, because "an ear infection is nothing to play around with". Tell that to your ER staff!
I went to a walk in, and they treated me far more effectively. I kinda feel bad leaving a 1 star review for all of UConn Health, as I go to UConn for Primary Care, OB/GYN, and Psych, and they're all WONDERFUL, but the Emergency Room is absolute GARBAGE! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!

If I could give this "hospital" negative stars I would. The worst service ever. I have had significant issues in multiple departments. Dr. Cherniak is a fraud. I waited for an appointment with his from July until November, then I had him cancel on me the morning of. His office was so generous and offered me the next available appointment, in April. Their portal does not work whatsoever. It is not updated and I am unable to get access to my records. They are also in the process of trying to steal thousands of dollars from my family by claiming they do not take my insurance, even though they most definitely do. they have in the past. This is beyond unacceptable. If you would like to ever receive relief and medical assistance, stay clear from these frauds.

My wife and I moved to CT from NY and found out we were expecting. We reached out to the office and as expected had to wait about 2 weeks for an appointment which is appropriate wait time for new patients. The appointment was on a Tuesday. My wife at this point is going on about 11 weeks (assuming) and has not seen a doctor or had any questions answered. The Friday before the appointment she received a call to confirm the appointment and then the day before on Monday she received another call to confirm if my wife had the paperwork from her previous doctor sent over. The day of the appointment, an hour before the appointment, she got a call from the facility stating they are sorry and scheduled her appointment incorrectly and she is going to have to reschedule. The answer they provided was that they scheduled her with a nurse practitioner and according to their policy she was unable to see a nurse practitioner for her first ever appointment. This was not something that was addressed on Friday or Monday when 2 different phone calls were made to confirm. Made us extremely uncomfortable that a process so delicate was handled with such carelessness. We decided to not schedule a follow up and chose a different doctor and hospital altogether.
