This so called research hospital is responsible for the death of my grandson. My daughter who was referred to Uconn bc of a high risk pregnancy had a still born bc of medical malpratice. She was extremely sick durning her last two months to where she was homebound and on a intervenous pump bc she couldnt keep anything down. Countless times I had to bring her down there bc of low potassium and twice for preeclampsia. The resident drs took this case very lightly and did not do what was expected of them. She called the night before she had the still born and told them she wasnt feeling right and she could not walk. She was dropping to her knees everytime she tried to walk. I explained to that dr that she isnt right and something is wrong. This dr talked her out of coming down bc she had a stress test on the next day.My daughter felt the baby moving that night. When we went to the appointment the next day, sadly the baby, my grandson Benjamin, passed away.My daughter delivered by c section and shortly after went into a catantic state of shock. Thats when they asked if she wanted a autopsy done and in her state said no. REALLY? She wasnt in her right mind at the time. However the hospital knew the family wantex one done as I spoke with them about testing the babh for mitochondrial disease which runs in our family. To my surprise the nurses didnt even know what that was and I had to explain it to them. They gave nothing to my daughter for pain bc they thought since she was in a catanic state that she felt no pain. Sick! They had the baby wrapped in a blanket and hat and when my daughter asked for them so she could have something of his they said they sent them with him to be cremated. How rude and shameful on their part. Please do not go here if you are a high risk pregnancy. Save your babys life and go elsewhere. We will sue for the wrongful death of a baby that deserved to live. He weighed 5lbs 13 ounces and should have been delivered the weej before when she was displaying signs of preeclampsia. They never did an ultrasound on the baby to see if he was big enough to be delivered which he was. I would give -100 stars if given the choice.
