THE FOOD WAS AMAZINGGG!! Went here to celebrate my anniversary and it was so magical. The restaurant has a great ambience and the food is top notch. I would highly recommend going her on a special occasion, makes you feel wonderful. Can t stress enough on how good the food was and the staff were very polite and professional. They also got a plate out to wish us on our anniversary. Presentation overall was brilliant!!

Overwhelmingly beautiful setting, no wonder it s named London s most romantic restaurant! The flowers crown the entire setting over the ceilings inside the dining area, and the roaring fire in the middle make it cosy and romantically lit. Seamlessly effortless waiters are polite and were attentive throughout our evening. Couldn t ask for a better dinner out.

Terrible and slow service. Not to mention fly on my table, drunk and loud customers on my neck!

One of the best places I have ever been to! Exceptional service and quality of food! I went there with my boyfriend for our anniversary and we managed to book a table in the atrium/room with the flowers. The experience was amazing and the atmosphere very romantic which we expected as this restaurant claims to be the most romantic in London. There was always one member of the staff that kept an eye on our table and made sure that we had everything we needed.

Everything we have ordered was nicely prepared. We didn't have to wait long between the starter and the main. Food portions were not huge, but they were big enough to feed us.

I would definitely recommend Clos Maggiore to anyone who enjoys French cuisine and is looking for a cosy restaurant atmosphere and exceptional service.

I`ve been to this restaurant several times, sat in each and every part of it and I have to disagree with all those who are desperate for a seat in the conservatory...not only because the food and the service I have personally experienced is equally good, in fact fantastic anywhere you are dining in this establishment but also because it seems like we forget why we actually go to a restaurant, whether it is a special occasion or not...which makes me sad...
Seriously, would we like to enjoy the food, the wine and our company or we go there to gaze like in the Safari???

When I write a review, it is either very good or very bad, I don't wast time on the middle. I am only giving this place an extra star because the staff were friendly. This place lacks the atmosphere that reviews makes it out to be. Over priced, underwhelming, waste of money.

Awesome. Clos Maggiore doing what it does best. Top of the game.

To be honest, beef is a bit dry. In a few years, the Queen Qian had eaten it once during the 60th anniversary of her ascension to the throne. This time she felt that her level had dropped. But the environment is good. The price is also very cheap.

This restaurant is really good for families and individuals. I can not recommend it enough, as the food was really delicious and I look forward to visiting again soon!

Amazing food. So was the service! It was super nice to feel as welcomed as any other guests, you know I'm use weird looks or expressions from people due to my more vissible face and whatnot tattoos.

Great value set lunchenu and attentive, professional staff

Can't fault the food here, there are some dishes which which I wouldn't normally have such as pigeon but everything I had was fantastic. The wine menu is enormous so we were spoilt for choice but the best thing I will not forget is the quality of the service. Each member of staff is highly trained and knowledgeable on the food and drinks menu + specials. Not only that but as soon as your drink is low in flushing your water glass someone appears out of thin air to top up your drink! Highly recommended!

Took my boyfriend for his birthday. The staff were friendly, very helpful and not overly intrusive. The food was great, really liked the menu options everything tasted amazing. I have two words...CHEESE BOARD!!

Clos Maggiore is has for a long time been the epitome of what a good restaurant should be. I have been eating here for the last 15 years. The service is excellent. The food always beautifully done. Even their butter tastes delicious. On this visit, we had a couple of kids and they went out of their way to look after the kids. In today's day of brusque restaurant experience, Clos Maggiore really stands out with its old world charm. The restaurant is expensive, but you get much more than what you pay for.

Amazing restaurant. I went there with my boyfriend to celebrate my 27th birthday. Customer service is perfect, food is amazing and the setting in the conservatory was very romantic. I would say this is the best restaurant I have ever been to in the UK. I strongly recommend it.

Delicious food, with amazing presentation. The tasting menu with the paired wines was full of flavours!

We were a group of 5, came to celebrate a 40th Birthday party. We been promised a complementary birthday cake and 2 hours dinning time from 17:30 to 19:30. We been pushed for time and it was reduced to 1:30 hour because they had to prepare the table for the next guests. We took 1 hour 45 minutes therefore they couldn't serve us the complementary cake which was very disappointing . When we were leaving at 19:15 the restaurant was empty apart from a couple who was dining at the same time with us. The food only looked good. My daughter was gagging while eating the food. Unfortunately our Birthday celebration did not end well due to the service we received there.

Probably the tastiest food I've had in a while. The food is cooked to perfection and the flavours are out of this world!! I recommend the truffle mash, it's so so good.

We were lucky enough to get a table in the conservatory (without joining the 6 month waiting list) and it makes the whole experience memorable and romantic, I would definitely go back and recommend it to others

I like this place very well. The amenities and facilities they have are very neat & clean, good set up to the area located every facilities especially the comfort room and washing area. I always see the staff working to maintain the cleanliness of the toilet and washing area.

A peek into wonderland, the romantic garden interior is probably what makes it frequently voted the Most Romantic restaurant in the UK. Drawing inspiration from country Inns in Provence and Tuscany, the intimate ambience reflects the contemporary French cuisine. The blossom-decorated glass roof and lights in the wood-panelled room certainly make up for the lack of city light stars. It might however be worth noting that not the entire restaurant is a blanket of whimsical blossoms, so it mention ahead which section you are going for. Appetizer, main course and dessert, the food was pretty fantastic, as was the wine selection. A group of seven girls, we gave into our sweet teeth and went with dessert wine. The sommelier was really helpful and I would not exactly consider myself a wine kind of girl, I do like my Ice wine. Side note: 1. don't go in expecting you can just order wine without main courses 2. getting a large table probably means you won't get a table in the blossom room

Beautiful decor and atmosphere. Delicious food. First-rate service.

Book well in advance though, as this place is booked out all the time.

These are the agreed ratings from 2 diners at Clos Maggiore on Sunday evening, 21st February 2016.
Food: overall 2 stars.
- Starter course: under cooked bacon + only shreds of oxtail.
- Main course: whole roast chicken was chicken breast stuffed with something and butter, over cooked greasy, shreds of over-cooked cabbage.
- Dessert: this was innovative and very good overall. Better presentation would have made it to a 5 star rating for this course.
Service overall 2 stars: This was far from perfect:
- We were kept waiting on arrival while an attendant was on the phone to a would-be diner explaining at length why their table would not be in the 'conservatory area'.
- When eventually we were shown in to the waiting area it was clear the amount of seating therein was inadequate relative to the numbers of people waiting.
- Inadequate assistance was provided in assuming our seats at the table.
- Napkins were provided but no assistance was volunteered in placing them on our laps.
- Petit fours were served well after coffees had been consumed.
- We were kept waiting a significant time on departure for retrieval of our coats to be made (that is even after we had to ask for them).
Choice of food: overall 2 stars.
- Very limited choice of dishes, even for a Sunday evening and counting what was available from the lunch time menu which was given to us along with the a la carte menu.
- Would we care for leftovers from Sunday lunch? No thank you!

Value for money: 1 star.
Ambience: 5 stars.
Overall verdict: Inadequate for a reputedly top restaurant in Covent Garden.
We ask: has Clos Maggiore become complacent and for its current reputation is now over-reliant on past glories?
We say: excellent ambience is no substitute for fine cuisine.

The conservatory is absolutely stunning - so much so that I'd say it's almost not worth going unless you sit there. The food was very high quality, and focussed on classic dishes rather than anything unusual or experimental. They had great vegetarian options, including a veggie tasting menu. We had the tasting menu with wine pairing, which was good value for money. The sommelier did a great job at pairing and explaining the wines. However, I would say the service lets this place down. It was professional and business-like, not friendly or welcoming like you'd expect for a romantic setting.

The place is so good but u need to do reservation an year go! The price is super high though but worth booking reservation bit early if you have any special occasions!

Went here for lunch in the conservatory room. Lovely atmosphere and indeed very romantic. Staff was very friendly and so service was good. We had the 2-course option. Food was not exceptional but was good in our opinion. We celebrated our anniversary there so they prepared little chocolates for us, which was a nice surprise.

Stunning experience with both the food and the wine. We were celebrating my partner s birthday and she loved this place. The food was delicious, full of flavours and made with a nice touch. The sommelier also recommended some very good choices. We were initially going for a Margaux 1998 from Angludet but he recommended the Tezza Amarone 2012 which was stunning. We also managed to have a look at the wine cellar which was a great experience. I can t recommend this place enough for any special occasion or any fine food and wine lovers.

Was taken here as a lovely birthday surprise. The service, food and drinks were exceptional. We were seated in the conservatory area which was delightful and, I feel, a must for any diner who wishes to maximise the romantic experience! Would definitely return, but, as I understand, one needs to book months in advance.

Romantic, elegant and cosy! The whole experience at this place was lovely. Greeting parmesan scones on the table, sapid mains and complementary dessert for our anniversary. Excellent service. I can't wait to be back.

In order to give 5 stars the restaurant experience has to be fantabulous in all aspects. My experience was just that from booking onwards. The lady I spoke to about booking a table was very helpful. I really enjoyed my evening here with my husband. We dined at night (30th August) in the conservatory which was really pretty. The dishes were good quality and the service was one which you could very easily get used to, everything now pales in comparison.
For dessert I couldn t find something I liked as I am vegetarian, not vegan and don t enjoy vegan food. The waiter kindly informed the chef, who prepared a strawberry dessert on the spur of the moment. It was very nice!!
Naturally I would highly recommend the restaurant and I don t think it s too overpriced. The wine list is extensive, so lots of choice. I would return again as I enjoyed the attentive but not intrusive service. The conservatory is best for couples as it is romantic and the seating is comfortable. Also the tables are more spaced apart giving some privacy.

Beautiful restaurant, very romantic place to take your wife

Once again outstanding tasting menu! And celebrating our 40th wedding Anniversary today we were treated to a table in the conservatory. Designed has a garden with white cheery blossom trees, fairy lights. Mirrors cleverly giving the appearance of a very large garden with corridors leading to other areas. Loved it the staff are so welcoming and very attentative. Last there in Oct 2018 and returned this eveing to end our perfect Anniversary day thank you guys.

An out of this world amazing place. loved absolutely every aspect of this beautiful restaurant. If you want to spoil that someone special then they don't come much better than this place.

Lunch today, nice setting but food seems to be just pre-heated as the beef rib was tepid. Don t know what all the fuss is about. Fine for tourists though as this seems a staple venue.

I can't explain how disappointed I was with my visit here. My boyfriend and I went for our anniversary a few weeks ago. I had been so looking forward to going here due to its reviews and had been talking about it for days! I know not More

Amazing service and DELICIOUS food. The duck was perfectly cooked, and the truffle mash was a must have! They brought out a lovely little anniversary plate at the end too which made it the perfect night

One of London's most romantic restaurants, under a canopy of faux flowers that works surprisingly well

Absolutely amazing place. Perfect for special occasions! The restaurant is beautiful and cozy. The service is outstanding, the food is beyond unreal! I recommend the truffle pasta & the sharing chocolate dessert. Celebrated my birthday here and was brought over a plate of chocolates and a candle- and was even given a box of chocolates to take home! Could not fault this restaurant!!

A lovely romantic restaurant. The conservatory is the most popular room In the restaurant, however on booking, you can only request it, you won't know until you receive your conformation request a few days before, we didn't book in time for a table in the conservatory, however were sat upstairs, also a lovely room, the ceiling adorned with white flowers and a fire keeping the room at the perfect temperature. The service was excellent and the food outstanding. We had the tasting menu accompanied with wines.

The atmosphere is cosy and elegant...pretty. The service is too good to be true. The food...some courses were delectable and others not so much for me personally. Worth at least a visit once.

Lucky to manage a table for a family of 3 (good enough for 6) even without booking on Friday lunch hour.
Staffs served professionally with great knowledge of cuisine and combination choice. Really impressed with the food quality. Romance is obviously not our subject of the day but will certainly deliver if that's what people are looking for.

The amount of euros that you are charging right now for the car rentals is RIDICULOUS, We are all in crisis, but looks like you don't want to make money. That is why Italy is the way it is. Everyone trying to steal everybody.

One of the absolute loveliest dinners my mother and I have ever shared. As the photos would suggest, the restaurant itself is exceedingly beautiful while still maintaining a warm, cozy atmosphere. The food and wine was delicious, French dining at it's finest. And finally, the staff were truly stand out - attentive, knowledgeable and welcoming without being fussy or pretentious. They clearly take pride in the food and experience, and it was an absolute delight dining here. Great for a special occasion for a pair, as lots of tables are tucked into romantic corners :)
