The most amazing place I have ever been to !

The most amazing place I have ever been to !
I went to this restaurant quite few times and it gets even better everytime I come back.
The food is amazing. Fresh, tasty, beautiful presentation. Service is 5*, you ll feel like a king! The bread is delicious, especially the focaccia bread which is to die for ! I tried everything which is vegetarian on the menu and every single thing is the most amazing dish I ever had in my all life. Chef Marcelin and his team are genius and they always come up with new menus and new ideas.
Now talking about the decor : BEAUTIFUL, GORGEOUS ! The conservatory is just so romantic and unique ! I do really recommend to also have dinner around the Christmas holiday it is just magical. I am totally in love with this place and definitely recommend to everybody I meet !

The atmosphere is amazing. They have an exceptional wine menu and their vegan options are heavenly. The staff were very helping and they didn't forget to surprise us on our anniversary. Great experience.

Lovely place. A real pity we couldn't sit in the conservatory (which is where the beautiful flower canopy is), and we would have had to book way in advance for that. Came here for lunch with the fam and everyone loved the menu. Get the Dorset crab, you won't regret it. Actually, you won't regret anything on this menu. The fish dishes (cod and the gurnard) were the highlights. I'd say that the desserts were a bit too saccharine however. Would be nicer if the sweet was balanced out with more sour, but maybe that's just my Asian taste buds.

For this price, you should have so much better service! The food is good. But the service doesn t match that unfortunately. We booked months in advance, making sure they noted down about gluten/egg allergies. The day before the reservation I once again made sure this was ok as we wanted to do the tasting menu. We finally get there and the waiter doesn t know, so she takes time to ask about replacements. A different waiter comes with a small appetiser made of bread (gluten) and eggs, thankfully I asked before eating it. Another different waiter a few minutes later comes with bread and butter, and she doesn t know about the gluten allergy either, so she takes 15 minutes to bring some gluten free bread, eventually. The table was wonky and I had to remind them to fix it, twice! You can have the best food in London (which is not even the case, despite being good food) but with this service you are not going anywhere. For this price, there is so much better in London.

Make sure you request to sit in the Conservatory, this is where you see all the beautiful pictures.

The rest of the restaurant outside of the conservatory is fairly standard. We went for our three year anniversary and were disappointed in the disinterested, slow and lacklustre service. Cocktails were adequate but would not recommend and would stick to the (extensive) wine menu.

We were disappointed with the food. The starters were nice but the mains for both of us were lacking in flavour and served lukewarm. Dessert however was lovely, and we went for the signature Clos Maggiore Caramelised Valrhona Chocolate Sensation.

Overall I think it's definitely overhyped and without the conservatory there's not much to offer.

Had a fabulous dinner here with my wife. Staff were very attentive and friendly and food was well worth the money and had an extensive wine list. Has a set dinner for those on a budget, but still not cheap. Good choice for a romantic meal in Covent Garden.

Food was really good and service was really good too!
If you really want to be seated in the conservatory, it is best that you make a reservation at least 2 months in advance (and you probably will need a guestlist of 5 people (incl. yourself) as most of the tables sit 5 people). That's what I did and I got seated there.
The conservatory is very beautiful and in my opinion, is the best and most romantic place to sit in the restaurant.
This restaurant is perfect for a date night and for a nice birthday dinner (what I went there for).

Also, I love how the waiters take charge of your dietary requirements. As I recently experienced a very bad dairy allergy that almost made me end up in a hospital (from a different restaurant), I was delighted that once I informed our waiter of my allergy, he showed me what I could have which was both vegetarian and dairy free (pretty much vegan) and what he could ask the chef to switch up the ingredients in to make it dairy-free or vegan-friendly. Anything that came by the table such as chocolates or bread, he let me know which were dairy-free and okay for me to eat. I have never felt so safe at a restaurant before. It was wonderful to not have to worry about having allergies and I was so happy to finally meet a waiter who truly cared about my comfortability and health as some waiters unfortunately get in a mood or put on a slightly rude attitude when informed of allergies and aren't half as helpful as this one).

You know what! Just make a reservation at Clos Maggiore and go there in two months!

There was not much choice on actual French food is more like modern English food. We ordered the sucking pig as starter and it was test less, the octopus was really tasty. The main courses was beef which was dry and venison which nice but nothing exceptional.
Average food and over priced this why the 3 stars. I think there are better French restaurants with tasty food and without paying fine dining prices.

It was the worst experience i have had in years! The service was poor, I had to always ask for my glass to be topped up from the champagne we bought, also table was wobbly so had to ask 3 times to fix it and then also show how to fix it. Told waitress i don't like raw onions and the starter that she suggested tuna tartar tasted like onions and the fish wasn't cut correctly as it still had lots of the white bits and it also looked quite grey and old. For main course i had Mackerel as per waitress suggestion and it was offensively salty like it couldn't be more salty, it was inedible, i had truffle mash as side dish and it was bland and probably heated too many times as the texture and look was un appetising. My husband and I canceled the deserts as couldn't take it anymore and left hungry! the place also had a weird old milk smell and in day time you can see how old the decorations are and how dirty they are. Avoid at all costs!

We asked for the room with the flower ceiling that we had not had, we waited 10 minutes in the lobby before sitting at the table where the ambient music was very loud ..
The worst, a very salty addition where the team is still taking 12 euros tip which is breathtaking ..
145 euros for flat entry for two, I could have put them if I had eaten well and if the service had been at the top ..
Very disappointed despite all the positive comments we had read.

This is a stunning Tuscan style restaurant that really goes the extra mile to make everyone feel welcome. I recently dined here during dinner (reservations highly recommended) as the atmosphere is very warm and cosy. The staff are efficient, knowledgeable and charming.

I ate off the A la carte menu which was quite expensive but offers excellent value for money. They also had a tasting menu, and extensive reduced a la carte menu.

I recommend Clos Maggiore for couples and small groups seeking an intimate evening with impeccable service.

Small restaurant with sitting area for only 9 tables - thus it is often booked. Unimpressed with the staff. When asked to discuss the menu , their answer was "everything is good." I had to ask repeated questions in order to have items explained. The staff were arguing among each other about events that occurred earlier on. I have no interest in overhearing complaints. Food was ok. The conservatory is nice, however, is just plastic plants and fake flowers. Nothing significant. The experience is not worth the cost.

Such a lovely place super romantic and the staff are really nice and helpful! We went there to celebrate our anniversary and they brought us this plate with chocolates. We had the SeaBass and the Veal and they both were exquisite to say the least. Really recommended when you wana treat your partner to a nice night out!

The food was absolutely wonderful, services was great.
Best food I've eaten in years .I definitely recommend this beautiful restaurant.
Everything was exquisite

Food: excellent.

Food: excellent.
Service: FANTASTIC
Decor: sexy and low light.

Pea fish mix thing they had going on made sweet love in my mouth.

Was not seated in the famous garden but rather upstairs with a pretentious couple next to us.

Refined and elegant environment. Impeccable and attentive service. High level food with an infinite selection of mainly French wines. I consider it a must for anyone who appreciates cuisine from beyond the Alps.

What a beautiful French resturant. If you are looking for upper class fine dining this is it. The resturant makes you feel like you are in a home. Comforting and welcoming. For those who need to budget, 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 port wines, 1 More

The Food was great, and the gentleman at the entrance was always polite and treated us well, but the lady who served us was very rude when we asked whether we could take pictures in front of their hanging garden inside the restaurant, should have seen the looks they gave us. It was very obvious that they didn t want to do it and they showed attitude were they felt their restaurant was the best in the world and gave us that look where they thought we didn t have the money to buy their services. A word of advice to the management do not judge a person by the looks and then decide how to treat them. A gentleman who has the money needn t show off their wallet.

The restaurant is definitely the most romantic restaurants I've been to. Definitely a place for a special occasion. The food was delicious and their desserts a must. The service was exceptional and really made the effort to make your experience special.

After all these years, still the place to be for fine dining in King Street. The highly decorated atmosphere inspires you to look deeply into their menu. Services exceed my expectations.

Had a great lunch and enjoyed the main course and dessert mostly, also a highly recommended place to eat some chocolate delights as I heard.

Thank you for a lovely lunch on June 26, 2015. Your staff made me feel very welcome. Everyone was very friendly and attentive in a way that felt absolutely sincere. The restaurant is cosy and all the tables were occupied, which was perfect. I was sitting just at the right distance from other guests, so that I felt like I was a part of a communal meal, while at the same time I was an honoured guest all on my own.

When I asked the waitress for advice on what I should eat and drink, I got splendid advice. The food was really lovely, and the drink - which is never the most interesting thing for me - went perfectly with the food.

We came here for lunch, and it was really amazing. This was despite being 30mins late for our original booking. The staff were so understanding and amazing customer experience overall. All in all, very good and will visit again. It certainly lived up to its beautiful, romantic setting!

I booked a table at Clos Maggiore for myself and my boyfriend for our second anniversary. I had booked online 2 months in advance and requested a table in the conservatory, mentioning it was our anniversary, but based on some of the earlier reviews I was a bit worried that it wouldn't work out that way. But there was no need to worry - we were seated in the gorgeous conservatory, had great service all night, and really enjoyed the food (3 course Sunday menu with wine). The conservatory is absolutely magical, and I couldn't imagine a better setting for a special occasion like this. After dessert, they even brought us a plate of chocolates with "Happy Anniversary" written in chocolate sauce, which we thought was such a lovely gesture. I would definitely recommend this for a special occasion, but it's worth booking early if you want to sit in the conservatory.

Summary: My partner and I were looking for a roman...

Summary: My partner and I were looking for a romantic lunch date but were instead met with an over priced poorly seasoned meal. Yet the wine was superb.

The service was oddly bipolar. Once we were shown to our table, the wait staff hovered about us. However, after we were served staff was surprisingly absent and left us waiting for our check for close to a half hour.

The wine we ordered was a fantastic full bodied DOCG red from Veneto that was absolutely the highlight of the meal. The wine list was extensive but problematic. Specifically for the Italian wines, the list did not include classifications for the wines (i.e. table wine, DOC, DOCG...). At the prices listed for many of the bottles and glasses of wine, one would expect more information about the selections.

Both my partner and I had the greens salad as a starter. Mine was fine however my partner's was unpalatable due to excessive use of large grain salt. Every bite she took required a several gulps of water to wash it down. She ate much as she could stomach so as not to offend. The dish had potential with the unexpected addition of chives to the various mixed greens, yet it was a let down.

The main courses were an improvement. I had the Scottish cod which was deliciously fatty and cooked to perfection. Yet it was served on an unexciting mix of carrots and broccoli with a sauce that added saltiness but not much else. My partner had the zucchini blossom stuffed with sheep cheese. The blossom and filling were well cooked and seasoned. The dish was served alongside asperigus, zucchini, pureed peas, and other veggies, none of which were particularly flavorful. Additionally, the asperigus was not properly trimmed and the zucchini was slightly over cooked. As a side we both had wonderful buttery mash potatoes which featured deliciously fragrant black truffles dispersed throughout.

For dessert I had the Greek yogurt mousse cake, which tasted like an old lady's perfume. I reluctantly ate it out of sheer politeness. Luckily the serving size was tiny. Along side it was an amazing black currant sorbet which almost made up for the cake. My partner had the poached pear with toasted hazelnuts and salted caramel ice cream. She considered it to be good, though not a particularly impressive flavor profile.

To finish, I had a espresso which was acceptable but not notable. She had a pleasant Oolong tea from Thailand.

Overall it's not good enough to justify the price. Your money would be better spent almost anywhere else.

Went for a late dinner on a weekday. Ambience is cosy and lovely. Service was very good overall with attentive staff. Food was gorgeous, especially the king crab starter and sea bass main.
Lives up to its reputation of having a fantastic ambience but additionally I was very impressed with the food and service.

Huge disappointment, average to inedible food, all hype. Avoid at all costs. The furthest thing from romantic.

We attended for the Krug dinner. It was advertised as a luxury experience with fine food. It was anything but. We waited 10 mins to be acknowledged at reception, ushered upstairs to a dark stuffy room with a ridiculous number of people in it. It felt like we were on a stuffy cruise ship. I was given half a table to share with a total stranger, plates were hanging off the table and we could barely lift our arms, it was highly embarrassing for us both and totally uncomfortable. Food ranged from inedible to average (one of the sauces definitely just tasted like raw dolmio) . Everyone at the dinner was saying how terrible it was and how ripped off they felt. The rep from Krug was tried to plug Krug s app whilst he was supposed to be hosting this luxury dinner.

Management have so far failed to respond showing nothing but contempt for guests.

Well if I could give zero stars I would. Left me a voicemail 2 days before my reservation telling me that my reservation for conservatory that I booked a month ago cannot be honoured. The lady just called me back and apologised but this is a terrible booking system and should be more clear

Excellent service and good food, apart from slightly tough lamb. Waiting staff remembered mention of birthday celebrations without having to be reminded on the day - candle in dessert and happy birthday was a nice touch. Also, conservatory is lovely (and romantic), but if you sit near the fire place you get a cold blast of air. Overall, enjoyed another great meal at Clos Maggiore and we will be visiting again soon.

By far the most romantic setting to take my better half on dates over the years. It was the first restaurant I took her parents to and set the tone for the wonderful relationship we have today. My parents live abroad and it proved an ideal place for my Dad's 70th birthday on his last visit to London, so beyond being the a perfectly romantic place, it is an ideal place to treat cherished family members. The food is perfection and the service is amazingly attentive without being overbearing or intrusive , as if the staff instinctively know when you need assistance and when you would rather not be disturbed and pour the wine yourself. In a nutshell, I like fine food and a wonderful ambiance but I don't like pretentious places or places that are so "stuffy" that they make you feel uncomfortable, this is not that sort of place, Clos Maggiore has a certain je ne sais quoi, that is so distinctively their own, they don't need to keep reminding you how superior the restaurant is.....

Amazing experience. So much more than a meal in a restaurant. There are no words to describe the evening. The food, the friendly personal service and off course the restaurant itself. Now I know and appreciate why there is a six month waiting list to enjoy a meal in the conservatory Still taking it in two hours after leaving the place.

First course was really nice both me and my wife really enjoyed it. Second course I had the cod straight away knew it wasn't right had a burnt bitter taste to the sauce. Told waiter who apologised and took it away.
Then the main waiter came over, told me thats how it is served. And said there was two seats Avalible we could move to in the conservatory if we wanted. Who wants to move seats after there second course? Knew he just wanted us to pay for it then and just felt uncomfortable the way he was with us. And sure enough was on the bill at the end. Didn't want to kick up a fuss and just payed as it was my wife's bday. Shouldn't have to be put in that position when a meal is not right and not eaten. Disappointing.

The food is absolutely delicious! We chose a la carte menu and we were not at all disappointed. I went there with my husband for our anniversary and they made us feel great. Table service and hostess were excellent. The venue itself is so cozy and private that you feel like you are the only one in the world. Wine menu is fabulous, no wonder they won awards for it so many times. The conservatory is the best part of the restaurant with blossom trees ceiling and a fire place, really romantic. It is a must to be here at least once in your life

The place where you know for sure you will be satisfied with the food. It s hard to choose when you look at the menu because every dish sounds so delicious! The portion size is just perfect. The quality of the food is a very high standard, starting from the bread basket with butter (focaccia to die for). For started we had tuna, crab, meat terrine and burrata salad. For main we had slow cooked beef, pasta with black truffles, lamb. Every dish has such a power and rich taste. For desserts we were spoiled with Bon bons, fruit sorbets, mille feuille and rice pudding. The service was just spot on! The wine card is very good with a lot of different regions. Our lunch was almost 4 hours as we didn t want to leave. Thank you so much! We felt very loved at the most romantic restaurant in London.

Poor taste, snails are salty and hard braised beef taste as good as from student dining hall Chicken chasseur is watery. Service is Amazingly bad nobody pay attention on our table and dont bring the wine ordered with entress until I asked. A staff dropped the spoon on the floor when take dishes away and she just kick it away very hard! Again AMAZING service for a restaurant with 15 service charge. Sorry for giving one star but the exoerience is really really bad.
