Electricity charges are expensive here and they get you with an automatic $18 charge not for a whole month but at the end of the.month meaning we checked in a few days before the end of the month and paid for a month and got it charged twice.... Golf carts, kids and dogs were loud after quiet time. Kids under 10 knocking on our RV asking if we had fishing poles and kids asking if we had any quarters they could have. We won't he back

We got in trouble for being too loud but the campground was having a party at the same time and we heard them as well. Felt like we were little kids getting into trouble! The guy sat on his golf cart by the road like a Sargeant we had 6 families in one area to ourselves so no one would have complained. We camo every year and this was our second time there and our last! Pool is small and not much to do there for kids besides jumpy pillow which gets really hot mid day.

Upon check-in, you'll be greeted by 2 friendly folks inside, none of which wearing masks.
The campsites are cramped next to each other, and ours had a huge camper parked in the front of it, making our site even less private.
The 10:30PM Golf Cart parade was funny for 5 minutes - but 30 minutes later, with the lights constantly lighting up our tent, the Dixie horn continuously blaring, and the Trump flags on the Carts made it really unpleasant.
AVOID unless you are looking for Illinois camping version of The Villages...
P.S. The only thing the fat security guard does is harass newcomers looking for the campsite for not driving under 5MPH - while he drives another golf cart with at huge trump flag.

There is a lot to do but most of the camp is pretty run down. Staff was helpful. Seems like a party place for locals. Had a golf cart parade that was very loud. No fire rings even though they sell wood. Was told to just burn on scar marks in grass. Sights were very close together and backing long trailers is challenging due to tight turns.

The season area is amazing! People have really decked out their spots! The nightly camping spots are spacious and had most amenities. The bathroom didn't get serviced on the weekend, which I assume, is the heaviest traffic time. The site didn't have a fire ring or grill. NOT THE FAULT OF THE CAMPGROUND: Our site had loads of trash and stuff dumped off into the ravine due to campers that dont have common courtesy.
It was rowdier than my taste but it did quite down after the golf cart parade around 10-10:30 pm

This place is great for tent camping or RVs! We come annually ever since we first came years ago. Helpful staff, indoor bathrooms and showers. The tent sites (with electric and water hookup or without) are very generous in size if you need to put more than one tent.

I would give 0 stars if I could. This is not a "family friendly" place. When we got here there was a vehicle parked in our site.. There were adults drinking at the children's play ground, dogs in the play ground (signs clearly posted no animals in park), loud inappropriate rap music constantly, children younger than 10 driving golf carts, cars speeding through the site, mini golf should be free as it's very dirty and run down, the quiet time of 10:30 is not honored, and no fire ring provided. I will never return. It's a giant place for adults to get drunk and neglect their children. No thanks.

Stayed here with my family on a Saturday night recently. The reviews that say it is extremely noisy with people cruising in golf carts until late, yelling at each other fighting, playing loud music that can be heard in *every* campsite and dogs barking all night long are TRUE. Not a good place for a quiet night's sleep. Wouldn't recommend ever staying here on a weekend unless you just want to party.

We are seasonal campers here. Since it has changed to Timberline Campground, Personally I love the new improvements, but I would rather have a few of the old rules. It literally scares me to see the young children driving the golf carts and messing around on thier phones at the same time. They do not pay any attention when crossing the street from Shady Oaks. And they go through the campground as fast as possible. This is the main peeve that I have. The rest is fine.

My fiance and I spent a couple days here for the fourth of july, there were some things about it that I liked but a couple things kind of ruined the trip for me. We reserved our primitive tent site a head of time for Sunday and Monday night, Sunday morning they called to tell us that they had to move us to another site, we were not sure why but we were fine with it. We got to the site at 3pm and were pretty disappointed. The site was private compared to most other sites, surrounded by trees providing shade but it was raining that day and there was almost no grass at all. It was very muddy, and we had our dog with us(I do love that they allow pets). Our next problem was that the site was very hilly and we only had one option for a place to pitch our tent , it still was on a hill.Every other site was flat and covered in grass(including the one we were moved from) We didn't complain, and made the best of it. We got set up and started to enjoy our relaxing camping experience, when around 7pm a big group of people started partying at the pavilion near us. They had a professional sound system set up that was turned up so loud that we had to turn off the music we were listening to and were forced to listen to the obnoxiously loud music and screaming people until 11pm. There was nothing about a party listed in the activities so we assume this was a private party and the office was closed and no number to call for concerns. The next night was peaceful, just wish the first night wasn't wasted.
They offer a variety of useful things at the store (office) , lots of activities, and rentals. We rented a golfcart although it was pricey ($75 for 24 hours) it was nice to have. We didn't interact with staff much but they were nice when we did, and A nice young man stopped and picked up our garbage bags for us as we were packing up Tuesday morning. The bathrooms were nice and plenty of them. The WiFi is free but it didn't work for us. Over all the place seemed nice, we just didn't have a good experience. We will be back and hopefully have better luck, and now know to not book site 311.

Little run down bathrooms and showers are definitely in need of work on. Kidas zooming around in golf carts all night no security?. great place for the price you pay. Me and my son did have a good time just need to clean it up a bit that's all. We will come back.

Nice campground but older. Full hookup, picnic table. There are a lot of people who are living here in the back area. Several cute cabins. Nice playground, mini golf and plenty to do. The only drawback that I had was laundry room floor needs replaced. Our campspot had beer cans and a paper plate and plastic fork on the ground left by previous campers. Not quite happy with that.

I was between 3 and 4 stars but three families put it to a vote and definitely leaned towards a 3. It was more of party venue for the local crowd I think. We travel all over to the family friendly campgrounds because we have several children in our families and the activity they can provide for the kids is important to us. We like to sit around the fire and have a couple drinks, but this place was just not up to par for a family friendly campgrounds. Quiet hours definitely not enforced...neghbors partied very loud until 4:30 a.m....my mother on law seriously wanted to walk our 5 kids over to their campground in the middle of the night to show these rude people who they were keeping up...had we had our youngest 3 kids with us, I would have been pretty upset myself, never the less....do not depend on quiet. Lots of teenage kids running around being rude, using foul language, I did not like my kids hearing what can out of their mouth but I guess there is not a whole lot to do about it. Pool....not clean...mildew all over the chairs...didn't even want to put my towels on them... that's pretty lazy and not acceptable in my book...not hard to clean tables and chairs at the pool. And again we went for a dip Saturday night after dinner and there were 30 teenage kids in the pool, I was the only adult at the pool. Went for firewood Friday night at 8:00...store was closed...no firewood available...meant no fire for us...partly bad planning on our part but why would the main office be closed at 8:00 on a Friday night? Father's day weekend...all the crafting is scheduled on Sunday at or after checkout time. Wait what? Explanation was if no one is waiting to use your spot we won't ask you to leave? Those kind of activities are why we go to these family friendly places...made zero sense to me or anyone else. Bounce pad was broke and that's the single favorite things for my kids to do. Our campground hadn't been mowed. Convenient store offered very little and had so much empty space in it. After writing this now I see why we landed on a 3...maybe should be a 2.
Will say staff was nice, bathrooms we're run down but we're cleaned daily. I don't know what else to say...we made the best of it like we always do and I don't normally complain but I wanted to give an honest review. Sorry I couldn't have been nicer. Had I brought my buddies or no children, I wouldn't have had as much negative to say...but that's not what we paid for.

This place is now known as Timberline Campground. This was our 1st and last time we will camp there. The grass needed to be mowed, the electricity went out because they did not have enough power to supply all the campers. We asked for a picnic table and was told they would bring us one. the day we pulled out, it still had not arrived. The water was awful. We used bottled water for everything, even gave it to our little dog.

Had a blast! We do a lot of camping and this was one of the best campgrounds we have been too. I love that they do so many activities to keep the families busy. The Only down falls were the cleanliness of the bathroom/showers. They need to be checked and cleaned more often they were pretty trashed majority of the time we were there. The second down fall is the lack of space you get on your tent site. Seems very small disorganized. The sites need to be more spread out and sectioned off better. All in all though it was an amazing weekend at a great campground and will def be back!!!

This campground seems just okay. There are little of things to do, swimming pool, playgrounds, mini golf and other activities, but the overall condition seems like it is on the verge of getting a little run down.
The campsites are all very small and crammed together, which means there is very little grass space in each site, and the campers end up right on top of each other.
There are also a lot of seasonal campers at the campground. Some seem like they may be year rounders as many campers have settled in and built decks and structures into their campsites. There are seasonal camping areas defined on the map, but there are still seasonal campers in the areas that are not defined as seasonal.
In addition, there is also a lot of traffic throughout the campground. Golf carts are constantly driving around, and at times the traffic is heavy though that I would be concerned about young kids playing. It seems like the high concentration of seasonal campers correlates to the high traffic from golf carts.
I would not pick this campground for tent camping. There are very few tent sites, and they are not well defined. The larger of the tent camping areas seems like it would turn into a free for all. It's just an open field with no apparent organization or layout to it. The other tent camping area was three small spots down by the pond area, and then a single corner spot from a curve in the roadway.
Overall, this campground was okay. Not one of my favorites in the area, but there were a lot of amenities there to take advantage of. In general, the campground is clean and the campsites and roads within the campground all seem to be maintained well. The building structures visually seemn like they are starting to fall victim to lack of upkeep. The biggest con in my opinion is the high concentration of seasonal campers. This isn't really a destination to camp and get in touch with nature for a weekend or short period of time. This seems to be suited to someone who is looking to setup for the summer and camping is not necessarily their primary reason for staying.

WARNING do not rent anything (campers, trailers, cabin, etc) because they will send some halfwit old lady out to check your camper after you check out and then steal your deposit!!!! Love the campground, it is very nice and some of the employees are very nice as well but overall will not stay here ever again! Everything went smooth until checkout time when they sent an older lady to check our 2 rental camper after we had removed our stuff. Upon her return to the front office I heard her in the office talking to the clerk that was responsible for giving my deposit back telling him that we destroyed the places which was absolutely untrue. In fact we left them cleaner than we found them! When asked what we destroyed they said we had been smoking in the cabin (not true), we destroyed the lock on the front door (not true) and that we burnt the wall by the stove (not true)! None of these issues were from us. We then went over to the camper with the manager to show us the things that were supposedly destroyed (he had not seen them yet himself)! There was a small existing burn mark on the wall in the trailer next to the stove which was very small and the manager agreed there was no smoke smell! The Lock that she said was destroyed was not destroyed but just needed fixed (regular maintenance)! The manager told me he would meet me back up at the office. I was under the impression he would be returning my deposit after seeing that nothing was from us! He then proceeded to tell me that he had to take his employees side and could not give me my deposit back because she is a professional maid and knows what she's doing!?!?! I am not so upset about the fact that I am out of $50 but the fact that we enjoy the campground and would love to enjoy coming back but do not want to be stuck into the scam where they steal my deposit every time because of a careless or negligent housekeeper that didn't see something from The previous renters which I Also I forgot to mention that the campers/trailers that we rented are usually booked out and rented by their very own staff at the campground, coincidence?? I think not

Very run down!! Shower house "comfort station" was absolutely disgusting! All of their hookups at the campsites are so unbelievably run down! Had power issues at many of the sites. Several friends stayed in the cabins and one of the rentable campers. They all had ant issues and the camper had dirty silverware in the sink. Needs to be updated and cleaned up desperately!!

We called at 4:00 pm for a reservation and said that we wouldn't get there until after 8:00 pm when the office closes. They said that they would have our information on the door for us. When we got there, nothing was posted on the door. We had to find our way to a site in the dark with no information. In the morning they had printed it out but forgot to put it out for us. At night, people were arguing, swearing and yelling at 1:30 am. This went on for at least 45 minutes. Then again at 4:45 am two males were arguing and swearing. The campground did nothing about this. I was scared for my safety and my children's safety. We will never go back to this campground.

Nice campground but the staff needs to control the mobs of kids and teens that wander around playing explicit music and bullying other kids. Saw a few people almost get hit by kids driving golf carts but security seemed to deal with that eventually. I would not bring kids here that are not used to foul language as you can't really escape it. . Events were canceled last moment but the weather wasnt the best either. Other than that, facilities were clean and I enjoyed my stay.

Although I have never camped at this place I feel compelled to offer my review of the place because I happen to live a stone's throw away.
My advice.....run....do not believe the reviews on this web site.
This campground is a complete dump.
Now I have camped all over the United States and this campground is by far one of the worst I have ever drove through.
Now if you like drunks on golf carts running around all hours of the night this place is for you.
Or if you like sharing the facilities with the seasonal campers who are almost always obnoxious this place is for you.
Or if you like looking at filthy sites that the seasonals keep then this place is for you.
Trust me folks this place is nothing short of a complete dump.
No way would I camp there again. Poor maintenance ...
No way would I camp there again. Poor maintenance in the restrooms one toilet for two days was clogged and the other had to be flushed twice to get it to move. Garbage pickup should be watched on an hourly basis. Bags stacked by restrooms. The tent spots were on a lean ( downhill) we literally slid off our air bed both nights. Quiet time is 10:30 and was not honored. One spot was loud with children till 5:30am. The police showed up! Should be an age limit on the golf carts for the safety of others. No ten year olds driving without adult supervision. Who ever runs it obviously doesn't give a rats ass.

Goodfield's Yogi Bear Campground is under new management as of July of 2013 - amazing place to stay! They are expanding and updating - lots of improvements! When you check in, you get a schedule of all the activities available for the kids - hayrack rides, crafts, karaoke, etc. The kids love to mine for gold and jump on the giant jumping pillow! They have plenty of new sites for larger campers. There are cabins to rent if you don't have a camper. If you like a more primitive camping experience, "East camp" is more rustic. We camp here often and have been impressed with the changes in the last few months.

I had a very fun and exciting time at this campsite. My friend and I came from Chicago about 2 and 1/2 hours to tent camp. The first night we had a bonfire right next to our campsite, roasted some s mores that we bought at the Office, the golf cart parade at night is loud but VERY VERY fun. Who doesn t like to live a little?? :) The staff is super helpful and friendly especially Bri, Anna, and Dawn are the ladies that helped me at the front desk. Darwin, the owner, is a very nice young man too! I LOOOOOVE the jumping pillow and it was a great way to meet new friends (kiddos or adults lol) Highly recommend! Bring your own sunscreen and toilet paper though for the portos because it runs out fast. Can t wait to go back!!!

We rented a cabin for 2 nights, paid over $200.00 . The campground is literally a junk yard!!! There is garbage everywhere!!! My husband and son were fishing around beer bottles! When you check in- they require a $50 deposit (cash)!!- BEWARE- this place ACCUSES you of doing things you didnt do to take your cash! My cousin was visiting back and forth and had their shephard with them OUTSIDE the cabin - when i went to check out....he tried giving me $30 of the $50!!! Accusing me of having the dog inside!!! Its ridiculous and i have never in my life seen anything like it!!! Will never go back!!! MANAGEMENT needs major improvement!

I haven't been there since it was Yogi Bear and it was night and day. It was very clean. The staff was amazing. Even the snacks and supplies that I left at home were very affordable in their shop. There are tons of activities for the kids including, a giant air blob for jumping and a crystal clear pool. I would and have recommended staying there. Maybe we got lucky with our camp site but we met some of the nicest people. We will be back often. I wish I could give 6 stars

I would give it zero stars if I could. Didn't even get to stay....called to book a site next to our friend's (#423). It was open so it was no problem and was an easy reservation; we received the reservation confirming the correct site number. When we arrived they gave us a different site number (#427), and I didn't realize it at first. When I pulled up at the site no. they did provide us, there was someone still camping there. As a matter of fact, there was someone on every site (4th of July week). My wife reviewed the camping reservation and noticed they had given us the wrong site no. The original one (next to our friends) was taken as well. We went back to the office to get it sorted out. The young lady behind the counter said it was her fault, because she gave our site to another camper who had the site originally and wanted to extend his stay. He had given her some sob story about how he couldn't move because he had a "bad back," so they tried to give us a different site without telling us or being forthright.. My wife explained that we wanted that site for a reason, and the young lady said, maybe they could find the camper to move him!! There was no one and no vehicle at the site, so who knows how long it would've taken to track the individual down??? (We had a lot of food in a cooler and we needed to get it in a refrigerator soon.) When my wife explained there is someone on both sites, they tried to give us yet another site that was also taken. The campers hadn't checked out yet even though check-out is at 1pm and it was past 3pm when we checked in. The campers on these sites were nowhere near "packed up" and ready to go. They asked to give us a rain-check, but my wife asked for a full refund as we will not be back. What kind of campground gives your site away without telling you and then doesn't ensure that people are checking out in a timely manner to ensure you a site that they switched out without telling you? They are either under-staffed or incompetent. There were individuals drinking and driving golf carts/vehicles around (their beer cans were hanging out the window in their hands) and small children running unsupervised in the streets in front of trucks and golf carts. We realize it was a busy weekend, but this brief experience was a nightmare. At least they gave us a refund!

It was alot of fun for the kids. It is a very busy place though with lots of people, though we did go the first weekend they were allowed to open in IL so that probably led to the super busy time. Even with that, it was a blast. I definitely recommend if your looking for something that has alot of things to do other than spend time at the campsite. They have lots to offer in the gift shop. I suggest bringing your own firewood. Has to be FDA approved and still I'm wrapping. We get ours at Menards. Gas stations, Walmart and several other retailers carry the wood for less than $6 per bundle, but a bundle on site is far more.

My husband and I stayed at Timberline for 3 months while I was there as a travel nurse. We have to say, this was one of our best experiences at a campsite. The owners were always helpful and people orientated. We loved that there are activities for the children and on the weekends they had pool activities for just the adults. The campsites are more than large enough and each one has full hookups. Don't know if we'll get back to Illinois any time soon, but if we do, Timberline is where we'll stay. We rate this RV park 5+ stars and recommend it highly. Special thanks to Jen and Darwin. Keep doing what you're doing, Paulette and Bob H.

had to dial 911 because their staff did nothing when a lady fell and hit her head on the concrete. she was completely unresponsive. i instructed management to call 911 and the lady said she would. I called myself to confirm only to find out that nothing had been done. This could have been my wife or child. Clearly their staff is not trained in emergencies. Be aware. Won't go again.

This campground used to be a Jellystone, but was purchased last year and is now called Timberline Campground. We camped with a group of three families and had a really good time during the long Memorial day weekend. Everyone working at the campground was extremely friendly and helpful. We had an electrical issue on our second day and the maintenance team were at our site in a matter of minutes and quickly solved the issue. They had a ton of scheduled activities throughout the weekend and our kids had a great time!
Amenities included a bouncy pillow, small playground (this could be updated), stocked pond with paddle boats, new putt putt golf course, beach volleyball, basketball hoop, activities room, and a swimming pool. We didn't use the wireless because it was fairly slow and there was decent LTE coverage for Verizon and AT&T, but we saw several new wireless antennas throughout the camp and by July they are supposed to have a new improved system up and running. The web site says there is a charge for wireless, but it was free the weekend we were there. It was obvious that the new owners have done a great deal since they took over last year and I am sure the campground will be even better in the coming years.
I really enjoyed this camp because it wasn't the typical private campground. There were some nice wooded areas surrounding the camp and several separate loops. The spots in our loop were fairly spacious even on a busy weekend with every spot booked. A couple of the other loops looked a bit tighter.

Very nice campground, level sites, lots of shade, big pool, plenty of family activities. I can't give it five stars because of what happened when my clothes were stolen from the laundry. The staff didn't volunteer to announce over their speaker system that someone mistakenly took someone else's clothes until we pressed them to do so. Most of the clothes were returned but in two bunches. Staff admitted they knew who took them but wouldn't pursue it further even though we were still missing one item. They obviously have someone at the park with some issues. I wouldn't say don't stay there, but lock up your stuff if you do and stay with your laundry!
