This place keeps getting better and better! I had the Bouillebasse. It seemed a bit bland last time, and I had to push myself to drink the broth. This Saturday, though: WOW!!!! I couldn't get enough! It was so well seasoned, and the scallops were PERFECT. The dish was hot, but the scallops were tender (as opposed to rubbery). This is one of two places in the Rockford area that I've had properly cooked scallops (so far?)

The server was too- notch, too. Checking on us, whether she wanted us to know or not (an experienced server won't be interrupting the meal). She was very professional and had great recommendations. We've been to Thunder Bay 3 times as a couple, and this is the first time we'd heard of the seafood fondue. *WORTH IT* Also, buy the extra loaf of bread!!

THAT BREAD! It crackled on the outside, soft in the inside. It was amazing.

If I could give this restaurant (especially server and chef) 10 stars, I would.

Worth every penny. We bought a steak entree, a seafood entree, an appetizer, and two alcoholic bereaved.

This place is the bomb. You pick from the grill, more down the line, for drinks, salad, pies, so on. As you walk in, smelling the wood burning, food, two lines, pay at the end. This restaurant is in or out door restaurant. P.s. your clothes will smell wood burning I like that smell. Your walking through the Kitchen in the line. Best for party's, group, office party, so on. P.s. get then before 5pm after that long lines.

Good food, service and ambiance. Only 4 stars because my medium rare steak came medium well, as did my friend's. They were still tasty and we ate them, but agreed we would request a redo in the future.

We wanted a quiet venue after a long day of driving and were craving fish and chips. Thunder Bay provided both. Though large and busy, the high ceilings made the restaurant quiet enough for easy conversation. The fish and chips were perfect. We shared an order (plus an extra salad) and had room for creme brulee. A great experience.

The only thing I would have them do to improve the service is to ask if the customer would like to have a kids menu regardless the size of the party. Also, to explain there is a reduction in the cost of buffet for kids.

Was on a getaway weekend and happened upon this neat and interesting restaurant. The outside reminded me of a place I ate at on Dauphin Island, AL. Once inside, the surroundings were very low-key and inviting. The atmosphere was relaxed and quiet. Out waitress was very friendly and checked in on us the right amount of times.
There was a great selection of beers and wines. They also feature IPAs and other craft brewed beers and ales. They allow you a sample drink of anything on their menu. Very helpful.
The dinner menu was very diverse and interesting. You can find non-seafood fare for those who don't like seafood. I decided to not do seafood this visit. I went with the CHICKEN TCHOUPITOULAS. I don't often stray from the familiar, but this sounded great in the description. So, why not give it a try? I have to tell you, the gamble paid off! The plating of the meal was beautiful. I would have taken a picture of it, but I had eaten over half of the entree before I thought of it.
There are plenty of other great entrees and if this is any indication of the rest of the menu, it all should be excellent.
Great price for the portion and quality. Try this out.

Loved the decor - very north woods. Wife ordered beer battered shrimp. Well prepared and tasty, but the breading was thicker than she likes. Mashed potatoes were cold when served, but server brought a plate of warm potatoes. My order got messed up. I ordered drunken sirloin tips but was served the drunken sirloin steak. Server offered to exchange the meal, but, rather than throw away the steak, I ate that and mgmt. comped the price difference. The sauce on the steak was fabulous. I also had sweet potato fries which were good. The meals came with a caesar salad for an additional dollar - well worth it. Large and delicious.

I wish there were more stars to give. The service is amazing. The server walked me through the menu, gave great suggestions and the food surpassed my expectations. The blackened green beans are a side dish that you shouldn't pass. I ordered the 8 ounce prime rib and it was definitely more than 8 oz., tender and delicious. The stuffed mushrooms were the best I've ever had. I'll definitely be back when I'm in town. The bartenders were pleasant and friendly and made me feel very welcomed. It's a place that shouldn't be passed when traveling through.

Stopped in Rockford for a late lunch, and it was amazing. Our waitor was very nice. He brought complimentary cheese curde & bruschetta- not sure why but won't complain because both were delicious! The burger was perfectly cooked & juicy, and tasted so good. Another in our group had pulled pork sandwhich, and someone else had the fish tacos. Everything was really good, the staff were friendly, service was quick. Wish they would bring one to Des Moines, IA!

This place is very cool. But I think I picked the wrong thing off the menu. Should have had fish not steak. The steak was sub par. But as far as ambiance, great place. Also, great service.

Food is great with a wide selection. We experienced less than stellar service the last 2 visits, earning 4 stars instead of 5. (Not very attentive and disappeared right after food was served and we had a wrong order issue.)

Sunday Brunch Buffet was delicious. Big variety to choose from. Great service and friendly staff.
It was very busy, but they do a good job of keeping things filled.
The setup is a lil strange, we didn't find the carved beef until we were ready to leave. It's up behind the counter where the made to order omelet station is, but its wasn't clearly marked. No one in our party did an omelet so never saw the carved beef back there too.
There's also bread on this counter with a toaster sitting next to it, and around the other side are waffles with a variety of toppings.
While yes, we prob should've explored more, there seemed to always be a line waiting for an omelet so we just stayed away from congested area over there.

Been there a couple of times lately. Both a party of six. Twenty minutes to get our drink orders. An hour and a half to get our food. I will say the food was great though. So we give it a second chance. Same thing, just about ready to leave when they took our drink order. Food was good if you don't mind waiting and waiting and more waiting. Will not go back.

Excellent. Saved a birthday dinner after a terrible experience at Stone Eagle. This place is head and shoulders the best in the area for staff, food quality and drinks. All at great prices. Thanks for ending the night with a smile. :-)
