Not impressed! Valentine's lunch empty but slow service. Food just ok but too pricey for ok. Look the greens were wilted and the prime rib sandwich was pitiful. The steak was tough and who puts barbeque sauce on steak? Nice ambiance but not worth a second shot!

Grilled vegetables were very good! Salmon with Chardonnay Dill sauce yummy. Tuna steak was very good. Rolls are tasty & sweet. Good service. Nice environment. We will come back! Oh and blue cheese dressing was good too! No negatives. All positive.

I prefer to eat whole foods, with real and fresh ingredients. It wasn't completely homemade (the biscuits and dessert seem like they came from a box, to me) but it's better then other restaurants in the area. They seem to still be trying, somewhat. Waitress was a wet mop, but that's ok she did her job well enough. We ordered the duck leg and thigh, ordered an appetizer and an extra side Caesar salad and two deserts spent $60 with tip. Lovely atmosphere, private but open, intimate still. Music wasn't as horrid as Applebees but definitely needs improvement. Temp was comfortable inside even on a 90 degree day.

The staff could not have been more professional or accommodating. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was pure Adirondack-cozy. Wish we lived nearby and weren't just traveling through.

This restaurant really reminded my wife of the hotel in twin peaks. It definitely had that kind of North woods feel from the canoes hanging in the rafters to the chairs made of sticks with the bark still on them. We had a calamari appetizer which was very good and a large serving. I probably shouldn't have ordered dinner after that, but I got a half rack of ribs. They were cooked to tender perfection, but the sauce was a bit on the sweet side. The service was friendly and efficient. Prices were reasonable.

The food was fantastic. Went with a friend and his family, he hadn't been there in 10 years. Overall happy with the service. Didn't hate it, didn't love it. The food however is the sticking point to me, will surely be back but will avoid times and days where there will be loads of other people.

We were in town for a kids tournament at a neighboring hotel so ended up eating here Friday and Saturday nights. Came in around 930. Might have been the only ones in Friday night, and there were just a couple of tables filled Saturday night. Maybe they do a big crowd earlier in the night, but I was surprised to see how empty this place was on a weekend. A few craft beers on tap, good cedar plank salmon and decent steaks. The bread was more of a biscuit with cinnamon butter. Really good. Good ambience in the mode of a lodge, which probably fits the idea of Thunder Bay (Ontario). Friendly staff. All signs point towards a place that should have been much busier.

Food is great. First time we went the place was dead. Went with a larger party. The waitress was knowledgeable and provided excellent recommendations to suit everyone's tastes. The second time the place was crowded and service was slow--which was understandable given the number of people. Did feel a little neglected by our server that time, but understood that she was swamped.

I waited a long time to eat here and it finally happened on Valentine's Day. The seafood jambalaya did nothing for me, the cornbread had a funky taste and the service was slow this night. Big shot out to the hostess, who I think was training another young woman, she was super friendly and on point. I'm definitely going back, but this time on an off day/no holiday.

I went back to Thunder Bay and I had a fabulous time, the food was delicious! A must have, the Cajun chicken over bacon and marinated on top of mash potatoes! The service was still spectacular and the bartender went above and beyond.

The food isn't bad, however, the service on a slow Tuesday night was pretty bad. Sitting at the bar and being ignored was hard to ignore. The bartenders and servers were more interested in "hanging out" than serving customers. I expected a little more attentiveness than sitting with an empty plate and empty glass for 5 minutes before given the opportunity to ask for another drink or the check. There are too many other options in the immediate area to go to to consider coming back.

I was pretty unhappy with my experience though. This was my last attempt going here. The food was okay and came out quick but it just wasn't anyting noteworthy. I would rate another star higher but the cleanliness really threw me off. Our table and empty tables near us had crumbs and napkins on the floor. It was apparent nobody had swept under these tables for quite some time. Probably the biggest culprit are their biscuits because one touch and they disintegrate into dust. The plates that were at our table stacked up all had water on them so we had to dry off each plate before using them. The menus were sticky and dirty and hadn't been wiped down in quite some time. One of them even had a coffee ring on it. It just gives you a bad feeling when you're about to use your hands to eat food when you've been touching all the surfaces that seem dirty.

I was expecting a standard chain experience having never been to this restaurant before. The atmosphere made us feel like we were away in a distant ski lodge, somewhere in the mountains. To say the food was anything less than amazing would be doing their menu a serious disservice! The ribs were outstanding, the mash potatoes were obviously freshly made based on how good they were, the duck sliders were better than I could have expected and the Mac and cheese was the best I think I've ever had. Our waitress was Katie and she was great. She had really good suggestions on the menu which obviously did not disappoint. I highly recommend going to this restaurant. I will be going back again very soon!

This place was so good. From the biscuits with honey butter to start, potato soup and the bison meatloaf.... yummy! My table also had the drunken tips and the gravy was so good. Highly recommend. Was nice and quiet on a Sunday evening and service was great!

Lived in the Rockford area for 30 years, I'm not at all sure why we never stopped in but we've corrected that mistake. Food was delicious and a selection of gluten free items, also our waitress was super. Only downside I found was I'm a bigger guy and the booths are far to cramped for me to get truly comfortable.

All the food was mixed together. They should have had all the breakfast food together and the lunch food together. They were all mixed up. You didn't know where to go to get what you wanted.

Thunder Bay Grille has been a long tradition of Rockford, and this location is a fantastic example of a great establishment with grade stamping! I have not once had a bad experience. Here, and I've been going for about 15 to 20 years now. Great food, great Ambiance, great prices! Keep up the great work!

14 of us visited for Sunday brunch. Food was delicious. Made-to-order omlet station. Excellent service, very attentive to bringing more coffee/water and clearing away dirty dishes. $15 plus drinks. Will go back again.

I was super excited to dine here tonight with my husband, I have been telling him for a long time I always wanted to try it. The cinnamon butter biscuits were absolutely delicious and the service was great but the main dish was absolutely horrible. Everything on my plate was over seasoned, even my green beans. After a few bites we asked for boxes and the bill. As soon as we left my husband said his stake was cooked perfect but the seasoning they used was horrible and he could have made a better steak at home. Overall I think our dog enjoyed the dinner better then we did. We will not return.

This place is amazing I'm so glad I found it! I'm extremely picky with my prime and going in I thought the prime was going to be like any other place but I was so wrong! The parmesan crust you can have added and the way they cook there mushrooms had me amazed. My waiter was attentive and knowledgeable and made my dining experience enjoyable. I will continue to make the 50 minute drive out to Thunder Bay everytime I'm in the mood for some prime.
