I signed up to Thorn Baker to find temp work. I was verysoon contacted but had found other work. I was contacted many times. Thorn Baker really looked after me. They even offered me a few days work in their office as a receptionist despite having never having woked as a receptionist. Whilst I was there, many candidates were offered work immediately. Thron Baker really care about their customers. If they are let down or someone is late to work, Thorn Baker do their utmost to find a replacement. They often get in touch out of hours too. They only can lie and stolen money. Very bad agency

Whenever I needed paperwork to be done they did it quite fast and even redid it if it was necessary. They always asked my opinion about the places they sent me to and always paid in time. A reliable agency to work for.

Shocking place to work. They train you then tell you to leave which makes no sense. Constantly sending you home and messing around with hours. They do not care about their staff one little bit, whilst all the supervisors and higher ups sit there doing nothing, at least where I worked.

A disgrace to the Warehouse industry and the recruitment sector itself . Joke of a company that never pay you properly.

Extremely rude staff, especially the two office girls. Stuck it for three months as I really needed the money. You are sent home from jobs very frequently. Just a horrible experience.

I do believe that Thorn Baker is a great recruitment agency. In particular, I love the honesty with which Samie works and the fact that the few people I have had contact with - Samie and Sarah are courteous and always ready to help is quite impressive. I love that you do not really have to keep chasing after them like some other agencies once you register your availability. I would recommend Thorn Baker to whoever needs the services of an employment agency. They try to keep their bank staff engaged as much as possible. I rarely give 5 stars but Thorn Baker sure deserves it! Keep doing what you know how to do best Samie and Sarah.

Still waiting for wages I was due yesterday 13/06/20 was told numerous times on Thursday and Friday that I was getting paid and haven't been paid at all or received a pay slip. I was relying on this money as we have no food and no milk for our 4 month old son. Being reported for with holding my wages

I worked for thorn Baker for quite some time and found them to be very helpful in every way possible. I worked within the industrial recruitment part of the company and as far as I can say they always found me work and I never had any problems. The lady I dealt with was called Sarah and all I can say is she was always on point with getting me not only work but she always tried her best to get me work that I was able to get to easy that wasnt to far out of my way when possible due to me not having a car and having to use public transport. Sarah was always very friendly and helpful as a manager and I classed her as s very good friend. So from my personal opinion thorn Baker and Sarah especially gets 5 stars from me.

Thorn Baker is a mega agency to work with. I really appreciate the service they are giving me.

I registered with Thorn Baker in 2018 when the agency I had been with couldn't find any work for me and seemed disinterested in my situation. I was immediately impressed by the professional attitude of the staff which was a stark contrast to my previous experience and within a week I was working. That wasn't the end of the care taken by them of my wellbeing however, after a few weeks I was contacted by Sarah who explained that there was a job much closer to my home ( I was cycling 10 miles to work and 10 miles back) and would I be interested. It's the first time I've ever had an agency take the trouble to think about their staff as people, I've previously felt I was just a number on a balance sheet and it's refreshing to be seen as a person, of course you need to be flexible in the modern workplace and do what is required of you but it's easier to do it if you feel your employer cares about more than just the bottom line.

Sarah at Thorn Baker is always helpful and polite. They always do their upmost to get me work when needed, have and will continue to recommend them.

Was very helpful when I first signed up with the agency.

I was out of a job I went to see Sammie she helped me and got me a job within a few days. Since October still ongoing she s absolutely brilliant answers any questions I have and gets back to me very quick. She s a great help always there when I need info about my work. If she s not available the rest of the staff are a great help.

Joined Thorn Baker in October 2018 as in desperate need of a change of scenery from the job I had at the time. As unprofessional of me as it was I had no choice but to take my 1 year old daughter with me to sign up and obviously she chose the time I was there to be an absolute nightmare, Sarah and Katie there were very understanding and even helped keep the sprog occupied with chocolate while i filled in forms! They got me into work within a day to two and despite a couple of absences in the beginning, which the company were obviously annoyed with but still remained understanding, kept me in work from signing up in October until April this year when an employer they had placed me with took me on full time. During my 6 months as agency staff I had no problem ever contacting anyone in the office I needed to speak to, calls always answered immediately or returned promptly, direct messages
to my consultant Sarah were again answered either immediately or replied to promptly, holiday pay accrued easily and paid as and when required without fuss, pay day came and went every Friday without any hassle or problems and just generally found my time with Thorn Baker straight forward and stress free, one placement ended and another started with no messing about in between. Unfortunately, despite early optimism, the job I left the agency for has turned out to be not right for me and within the last few days have had to call it a day on my time there! I didn t hesitate to come back to Thorn baker. I messaged Sarah directly, she had me straight back in to re-sign with them the next day and would already be back in work if not for a holiday I have booked! Obviously can t comment on other peoples experiences but I myself genuinely have had noIssues or grievances with them or I wouldn t have gone back, highly recommend

Utter waste of time, the worst agency out there and from reading the other comments it looks like there others that feel the same. They sent me to Poundstretcher which if anything is the most dangerous warehouse currently in the UK! When I didn't want to go back they decided they weren't going to pay me. Avoid this agency and try others, agencies that will pay fair and place you in safe modern day workplaces.

Never available and never replied to a single phone call or email and other staff I have spoken to seem disinterested to take my call. Simon must be busy waiting in the queue at nearest Greggs.

For an agency who's role is to support the public with getting jobs, Thorn Baker most assuredly does not live up to expectations and to my honest opinion has been utterly useless. I got a job from the first day i opened Thorn's Baker door(i am not kidding!) On the third of January i went to them asking for a job. The guy who welcomed me told me that they have nothing for the moment because they started work one day before but he gave me a form to fill it out and told that he will call me as soon as he has a job for me. While filling in the form he camed and told me he received a phone call and he has a job. He explained what it is in and asked me if i accept. I had the induction right away (this was happening on friday 3 january)and from monday i went to work! Until February 19th I had 3 different jobs because I asked them all the time to find me a better job and now they found for me another job in an warehouse where i realy like working and i have nothing to reproach about. Keep contacting me with job offers and when I say I'm interested and up for it I'll not hear from them to get a start date. They never respond to emails and they don't answer the phone. I feel like they racially profile people too.

Pay was right and on time everytime

So I have visited their office, hoping to book an appointment regarding my career prospects and how their service could help my situation. I was told to leave my CV and was promised to get a phone call later that week. As you can tell by my review score, I didn't get one. Even after 3 unanswered e-mails. It's a shame, because a friend of mine was speaking very highly of the company and their service, but unfortunately, those expectations were not met at all.

I applied for a job that they where recruiting for at 14:45 and had a call back by 15:05 after a consultation with Paul I started work at 06:00 the next day one month on still employed not had any problems with contact or pay all of the staff have always been helpful

Terrible place to work for!! They get rid of people for the smallest of things or when they re just bored of them! Girls getting sacked for wearing makeup! If you have one day off they ll get rid of you. They keep on people that don t speak English more than English people. I wouldn t even both. Their company s a joke

I registered with Thorn Baker in August 2018 and within a few days Sarah was in touch offering me a position local to me on a temporary to permanent basis. I can say that I was lucky enough to be taken on by my company in January 2019 and cannot thank Sarah enough for the support she gave me whilst I was with the agency and for the trust she put in me so that I could get ongoing work to be able to support my family. Timewasters. Consultant S@rah told me that my CV was picked up as the best candidate for that permament job role for company in Hucknall. Very promising, contract straight away. Then she asked me to give her a call on a next day for an update. Ive tried to contact this person everyday for almost 2 weeks! with no success as she was always "not in at the moment" or at lunch Lets call it taking a pisssss .. two days later I get a phone call from another consultant asking if I can get there today and HOPEFULLY for the rest of week! Wow. Really?? SO..... BASICALLY, WHATEVER THEY TELL YOU OR PROMISE-DONT TAKE IT FOR GRANT! Instead of telling you true facts like "company wont need you anymore" they make you wait for nothing. An example of how to not run a recruitment business. Making money on people they dont respect enough to make a honest phone call. Disaster of a 21st Century
