I registered with Thorn Baker in 2018 when the agency I had been with couldn't find any work for me and seemed disinterested in my situation. I was immediately impressed by the professional attitude of the staff which was a stark contrast to my previous experience and within a week I was working. That wasn't the end of the care taken by them of my wellbeing however, after a few weeks I was contacted by Sarah who explained that there was a job much closer to my home ( I was cycling 10 miles to work and 10 miles back) and would I be interested. It's the first time I've ever had an agency take the trouble to think about their staff as people, I've previously felt I was just a number on a balance sheet and it's refreshing to be seen as a person, of course you need to be flexible in the modern workplace and do what is required of you but it's easier to do it if you feel your employer cares about more than just the bottom line.
